고객이 요구하는 정보를 효율적으로 제공하기 위한 전자 카탈로그를 구축하는 것은 e-business의 성공의 핵심적 요소이다. 우수한 상품 판매 기술을 이용하여 고객의 판매 결정을 촉진하는 전자 카탈로그가 있는 반면, 그렇지 않은 경우는 사업적 손실과 법적인 분쟁까지 초래하기도 한다. 전자 카탈로그가 전자 상거래 사이트의 중심 요소임에도 불구하고 이제까지 학문적, 실용적 분야에서 전자 카탈로그의 평가 방법에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 힘든 상황이다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 우선 효과적인 전자 카탈로그 구축을 위한 요구사항을 도출해 내고 그것을 전자 카탈로그 평가 기준으로 적용하여, AHP(계층적 분석 방법)를 사용해서 평가 기준간의 상대적 중요도를 개발해 내는데 목적이 있다. 그 평가 기준의 상대적 중요도는 기업이 전자 카탈로그를 구축할 때 중점을 두어야 할 사항을 결정하는데 기준을 제시해 줄 것이다. 이 연구의 결과는 평가는 물론 효율적인 전자 카탈로그의 개발을 위한 지침을 마련해 줄 것이다.

International Hydrography Organization has published S-100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model to support use of various hydrographic data for navigational safety. In the S-100 standards, it is possible to manage hydrographic data and apply various application field by introducing the concept of registry and its register. In this study, the S-100 standard based product specification in the field of maritime safety is developed by designing application schema according to general feature model defined in the S-100 standard, and feature catalogue is produced through simple registry.

AMGA service, which is one of the EMI gLite middleware components, is widely used for analysis of distributed large scale experiments data as metadata repository by scientific and technological researchers and the use of AMGA is extended farther to include general industries needing metadata Catalogue as well. However AMGA, based unix and Grid UI, has the weakness of being absence of general-purpose user interfaces in comparison to other commercial database systems and that's why it's difficult to use and diffuse it although it has the superiority of the functionality. In this paper, we developed AMGA GUI toolkit to provide work convenience using object-oriented modeling language(UML). Currently, AMGA has been used as the main component among many user communities such as Belle II, WISDOM, MDM, and so on, but we expect that this development can not only lower the barrier to entry for AMGA beginners to use it, but lead to expand the use of AMGA service over more communities.

The edge descriptor proposed by MPEG-7 standard is a representative approach for the contents-based image retrieval using the edge information. In the edge descriptor, the edge information is the edge histogram derived from a gray-level value image. This paper proposes a new method which extracts color edge information from color images and a new approach for the contents-based image retrieval based on the color edge histogram. The poposed method and technique are applied to image retrieval of the e-catalogue. For the evaluation, the results of image retrieval using the proposed approach are compared with those of image retrieval using the edge descriptor by MPEG-7 and the statistics shows the efficiency of the proposed method. The proposed color edge model is made by combining the R,G,B channel components vectorially and by characterizing the vector norm of the edge map. The color edge histogram using the direction of the color edge model is subsequently used for the contents-based image retrieval.

The female moths of Lepidoptera comprising over 1,000,000 described species possess long-chain unsaturated alcohols or esters as the typical structure of potential sex attractants. In this experiment, various stereoisomers of $C_{16}-unsaturated$ acetates were synthesized for potential sex attractants; e.g., $CH_3(CH_2)_mCH=CH(CH_2)_nOR$ (m=0-12, n=1-13, R=H and $-COCH_3$). Seventeen acetates were spectrometrically examined so that the data would provide a ready catalog of gas chromatography and mass spectrometric data for comparison with natural insect sex attractants. Exclusively cis and trans isomers were obtained by the catalytic and chemical reduction methods, respectively. Commercially available $CH_3(CH_2)_mBr,\;CH_3(CH_2)_mC{\equiv}CH,\;HC{\equiv}C(CH_2)_nOH\;and\;HO(CH_2)_n\;OH$ were used for the synthetic starting material. 1-Alkynes, $CH_3(CH_2)_m\;C{\equiv}CH$ exceeding nine methylene groups did not condense with alkyl dihalides. The yield of coupling products was gradually decreased with increasing the molecular weight of diols. In the coupling reaction of $BrCH_2CH_2$ OTHP with acetylene gas, the tetrahydropyranyl ether of bromohydrin produced undesirable elimination product. In this experiment, it seems that p-toluenesulfonic acid is greatly favoured hydrolyzing agent over dilute sulfuric acid in the hydrolysis of the tetrahydropyranyl ether of long-chain alkynols.
