Location Analysis on the Melting System of Waste FRP Ship (폐 FRP선박 용융처리시스템 입지 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The economical efficiency and easy ship building have enabled to spread FRP ships in the shipbuilding field. As waste FRP ships have been thrown away at a river or within a harbour, this matter has become issues. For the improvement of this matter, the melting technique and system of waste FRP ships was developed. But, Decision making was required for a location plan of the melting system of waste FRP ships. It's recognized that the location decision of this system is difficult due to the dependence on technical, economical, environmental factors. In this paper, we survey the primary factors of location-economic, life-environment, infrastructure and make up a question for the experts. We also calculate the important weight and related weight using Fuzzy AHP, Limiting probability method and discuss on the calculation results on the proposed sites.

Development of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms with Biphasic Drug Release using Double-Melt Extrusion Technology (이중 고온용융 압출 성형된 이중 방출능을 가지는 제형의 개발)

  • The aim of this study was to develop pharmaceutical dosage forms with a bi-phasic drug using a double extrusion approach. Hot melt extrusion was performed using a co-rotating twin-screw extruder. The. 1st melt extrusion was performed using polymer with a relatively higher Tg, such as HPMC and the 2nd melt extrudate was obtained using the 1st extrudate and polymers with a lower Tg, such as HPMC-AS and PEO. In addition, the formulation with all the content in the same proportion as the double extudate was produced using single extrusion for comparison. Physical characterization was performed on the formulations employing differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). In vitro release tests were studied using a USP Type-I apparatus at $37{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and 100 rpm. The similarity factor (f2) was also used to check the difference statistically. The DSC results indicated that the crystallinity of ibuprofen was changed to an amorphous state after extrusion in both double and single melt extrusion. Double melt extrudate with ibuprofen showed the desired release in acidic media (pH 1.2) in the first two hours and basic (pH 6.8) during six hours. Double melt extrudate with glimepiride showed faster release in 60 min of over 80%, whereas the single extrudate with glimepiride showed retarded release due to the interaction with HPMC. The similarity factor(f2) value was 28.5, which demonstrates that there were different drug release behavior between the double and single extrusion. Consequently, the double melt extrudated formulation was robust and gave the desired drug release pattern.

Thermal Properties of Polyurethane Elastomers Prepared with MBCA/DMTDA Mixture as Curing Agent (MBCA/DMTDA 혼합경화제를 이용한 폴리우레탄 탄성체의 열적 성질)

  • Both melting temperature and enthalpy of MBCA/DMTDA mixtures were measured as a function of DMTDA compositions using DSC. The thermal properties of polyurethane elastomer samples prepared with MBCA, DMTDA, and 40/60 MBCA/DMTDA mixture as curing agents were also observed using TGA. MBCA and DMTDA showed good miscibility over the entire composition range, exhibiting individual DSC melting peaks. Peak temperatures were non-linearly reduced as DMTDA concentrations increased, being approximately $60^{\circ}C$ in the case of the 40/60 MBCA/DMTDA mixture. Furthermore, melting enthalpy of the mixture was calculated as 3.8 J/g, which was only 4.3% compared to 87.3 J/g of MBCA. Based on these results, crystallization of the mixture was considered to occur very slowly, and the fluidic gel-state of the mixture was visually confirmed to be maintained over 5 days at room temperature. Thermal decomposition of polyurethane elastomer prepared with 40/60 MBCA/DMTDA curative started at about $190^{\circ}C$, which is similar to that observed for DMTDA, only except decomposition behavior over higher temperature of $400^{\circ}C$.

Study of the Method to Examine the Cause of Damage to a Flat-Type Vinyl Cord (VFF) According to the Type of Energy Source (에너지원의 종류에 따른 비닐평형코드(VFF)의 소손원인 판정기법에 관한 연구)

  • This study presented the structure and characteristics of vinyl cords used for wiring electric equipment and appliances and analyzed the photographs of damaged flat-type vinyl cords (VFF, $1.25mm^2$) and the metallic cross-sectional structure of melted conductors. Normal VFFs were made by twisting several strands together and the surface of the conductor was red brown. In addition, from the analysis of the metallic structure of the conductor, it was found that its grains had been elongated. The surface of a VFF damaged by normal flame showed no sheen with carbonized insulation material fused on the conductor surface. In addition, from the analysis of the cross-sectional structure of the melted area, it was found that voids of a certain shape were formed on it but that the cord's own elongation structure could not be checked. The cross-sectional analysis of the melted conductor damaged by the external flame applied to a VFF to which electric current was being applied showed no elongation structure for each cord, and revealed that irregular voids and a columnar structure had grown. The surface of the VFF damaged by overcurrent was uniformly carbonized and the cross-sectional structure analysis of the melted conductor revealed that the dendritic structure had grown. The analysis of the characteristics of the VFF melted by short-circuit showed that even though some part of the surface was contaminated, it showed little sheen and that the area rebounded by melting was round in shape. In addition, the cross-sectional structure analysis using a metallurgical microscope showed the boundary surface and columnar structure and revealed an amorphous structure like normal copper at areas other than the melted conductor.

  • 철강은 기본적으로 강도가 우수하고 그 매장량이 풍부할 뿐만 아니라 대량생산이 가능하다 또한 다른 금속과 합금을 구성하여 또 다른 특성을 부여할 수 있기 때문에 현재 전 세계 금속 생산량의 95%를 차지할 정도로 많이 사용되며, 각종 산업과 기술이 발달함에 따라 그 중요도는 점점 더 커져가고 있다. 하지만 철강은 사용 환경 중 부식에 의해 그 수명과 성능이 급격히 저하되기 때문에 내식성을 향상시키기 위하여 도장이나 도금 등의 표면처리를 포함한 다양한 방법이 적용되고 있다. 그 중 철강재의 도금 표면처리방법은 주로 아연을 이용한 용융도금이나 전기도금 등과 같은 습식 프로세스가 널리 사용되고 있다. 여기서 아연은 철보다 이온화 경향은 크나 대기 환경 중 산소와 물과 반응하여 Zn(OH)2와 같은 화합물을 형성함으로써 철강재 표면상 부식인자를 차단(Barrier)함은 물론 사용 중 철 모재가 노출되는 결함이 발생하는 경우에는 철을 대신하여 희생양극(Sacrificial Anode) 역할을 하기 때문에 철의 부식방식용 금속으로 가장 많이 사용되고 있다. 한편 최근에는 철강의 사용 환경이 다양해짐은 물론 가혹해지고 있어서 이에 따른 내식성 향상이 계속해서 요구되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 철강재의 내식성을 향상시키기 위한 일환으로 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 용융아연도금 강판 상에 아연보다 활성이 높은 마그네슘(Mg)을 건식 프로세스 방법 중에 하나인 PVD(Physical Vapour Deposition)법에 의해 코팅하는 것을 시도하였다. 일반적으로 PVD법에 의해 진공증착하는 경우에는 그 도입가스로써 불활성가스인 아르곤(Ar)을 사용하는 경우가 대부분이나 여기서는 상대적으로 비활성이면서 그 크기가 작은 질소(N2)가스를 도입하여 그 증착 막의 몰포로지는 물론 결정구조도 제어하여 그 내식특성을 향상시키고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 철강재의 내식성을 향상시키기 위한 방법으로 마그네슘(Mg)를 PVD(Physical Vapor Deposition)법 중 진공증착법(Vacuum Deposition)을 사용하여 용융아연도금 강판 상에 마그네슘 증착 막을 형성하였다. 즉, 여기서는 진공증착 중 질소(Nitrogen, N2)가스를 도입하여 진공챔버(Vacuum Chamber)내의 진공도를 $1{\times}10^{-1}$, $1{\times}10^{-2}$, $1{\times}10^{-3}$, $1{\times}10^{-4}$로 조절하며 제작하였다. 또한 제작된 시편에 대해서는 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) 및 XRD(X-Ray Diffraction)을 사용하여 형성된 아연도금상 마그네슘 막의 표면 몰포로지 및 결정구조의 변화를 분석함은 물론 침지시험, 염수분무시험, 분극시험을 통해 이 막들에 대한 내식특성을 분석 평가하였다. 상기 실험결과에 의하면, 진공 가스압이 증가됨에 따라 마그네슘 막의 두께는 감소하였으며, 그 몰포로지의 단면은 주상정(Columnar)에서 입상정(Granular) 구조로 변화하며 표면의 결정립은 점점 미세화 되는 경향을 나타냈다. 이때의 표면의 결정배향성(Crystal orientation)은 표면에너지가 상대적으로 큰 면이 우세하게 나타나는 경향이 있었다. 또한 본 실험에서 형성한 진공증착 막은 비교재인 용융아연도금강판보다 우수한 내식성을 나타냈고, 본 형성 막 중에는 마그네슘 막 두께가 작음에도 불구하고 질소 가스압이 가장 큰 조건일수록 내식성이 우수한 경향을 나타냈다. 이상의 결과는 철강재의 내식성 향상을 위한 응용표면처리설계에 기초적인 지침을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Study on the Fire Investigation by Damaged Pattern Analysis of Incandescent Lamps (백열전구의 소손 패턴 분석을 통한 화재조사 연구)

  • In this paper, we conducted experiments on damaged patterns of incandescent lamps by external stress, such as external flame or external impact. Glass bulbs were melted and filaments were evaporated by external flame when the bulbs were lit, and finally molten marks were recognized at the filaments. Also, there were some differences in absorption patterns of evaporated filament elements according to set-up directions, and evaporated filament elements were absorbed in lead-in wires, support, inside of glass. In case the bulbs were lit and they were damaged by external impacts, filament burned out. Filaments were not evaporated but melted. We expect that this results could be used to judge whether electric current flew through incandescent lamps or not in fire site.

Crashworthiness Evaluation of Bridge Barriers Built with Hot-dip Zinc-aluminium-magnesium Alloy-coated Steel (고내식성 용융합금도금강판 적용 교량난간의 충돌성능 평가)

  • This paper proposes road safety facilities applying Hot-dip zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy-coated steel sheets and coils to reduce the loss of function caused by the corrosion of steel in the service state. Vehicle crash simulations and full-scale crash tests were carried out to provide reliable information on evaluating the crash performance with the products of road safety facilities built with hot-dip zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy-coated steel. From the results of the simulations and full-scale crash tests, the impact behaviors evaluated by the three-dimensional crash simulations considering the strain-rate dependency in a constitutive model were similar to those obtained from the full-scale crash test results. The full-scale crash test results met the crashworthiness evaluation criteria; hence, the proposed bridge barrier in this paper is ready for field applications.

Corrosion Analysis of Materials by High Temperature and Zn Fume (고온 및 Zn Fume에 의한 소재들의 부식성 분석)

  • The material normally used in hot dip galvanizing facilities is SM45C (carbon steel for mechanical structure, KS standard), mainly because of its price. During this process, the oxidation of the plating facility occurs due to the heat of the Zn fumes coming from the molten zinc. Since the cycle time of the current facilities is 6 months, much time and money are wasted. In this study, the corrosive properties of various materials (Inconel625, STS304, SM45C) were investigated by oxidation in a high temperature and Zn fumes environment. The possibility of applying the hot-dip galvanizing equipment was investigated for each material. The Zn fumes were generated by directly bubbling Ar gas into Zn molten metal in a 650 degree furnace. High-temperature, Zn fumes corrosion was conducted for 30 days. The sample was removed after 30 days and the oxidation of the surface was confirmed with EDS and SEM, and the corrosion properties were examined using potentiodynamic polarization tests.

  • In addition, because it uses preheating to dissolve an alloy in general, it is hard to regulate the appropriate melting temperature of the alloy and brewing time and shows the defect of the supplementation thing due to the super-heating. Once the alloy is molten and then most of the casting by attaching a sight glass or non-contact temperature sensor is suitable casting temperature the operator pressing a button to generate a centrifugal force to inject the molten alloy into a crucible in the casting ring. These results, and most of the cast temperature is too high or too low to generate a lot of casting defects do not get into a uniform cast body. In this paper, we developed a dental casting machine for high frequency using a single temperature sensor which can measure the actual temperature of the alloy than the temperature of the external non-contact measurement using a temperature sensor.

Injection Unit Precision Inspection according to Control Method of Injection Molding Machine (사출성형기의 제어방식에 따른 사출장치 정밀도 검사)

  • A study of a precision test according to the control method of an injection molding machine was carried out. The effects of the screw stroke, holding pressure, melt temperature on both the hydraulic and electric injection molding machine were examined. In addition, hypothesis testing was performed to determine the deviation of the data obtained in the experiments. The conclusions obtained in this study were as follows. Significant deviations in the screw stroke, melt temperature and holding pressure occurred in that order. The hydraulic type showed significantly more variation between the products compared to the electric type. In addition, using a mini tab from the statistics program, a hypothesis was proposed and the P value of the injection stroke, holding pressure, melting temperature injection stroke and melting temperature had adopted a null hypothesis ($H_0$). The holding pressure, which showed mutual differences, adopted an alternative hypothesis ($H_1$).
