PCE Calculation Methodologies used in KHCM for Two-way Two-lane Highways and freeways (KHCM에 이용된 양방향 2차선 도로 및 고속도로의 승용차 환산계수 산정방법론 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 1992년 KHCM 작성시 이용된 양방향 2차선 도로 및 고속도로의 승용차 환산계수 산정방법론 및 자료를 연구하였다. 대형차가 2차선도로, 고속도로의 교통류에 미치는 영향은 각기 다르므로 1992년 KHCM 작성시 승용차 환산계수를 산정하는데 있어서 각 도로의 특성을 최대한 반영하기 위해 다양한 방법을 적용하였다. 양방향 2차선 도로의 평지의 서비스 수준 A에서는 Walder 방법, 서비스 수준 B, C, D에서는 지체시간 방법, 서비스 수준 E에서는 차두간격 방법, 구릉지, 산지 특정구배에서는 실측 자료 및 TWOPASKI Simulation에 의한 방법을 적용하였고, 고속도로의 평지에서는 차두간격 방법, 그릉지, 산지, 특정구배에서는 실측 자료 및 VEHEQ Simulation에 의한 방법을 적용하였다. 양방향 2차선 도로는 한 방향당 차선이 하나이므로 추월시 대형차의 영향이 고속도로보다 크기 때문에 각 서비스 수준별고 승용차 환산계수를 제시했으며, 고속도로의 승용차 환산계수는 용량에 가까운 상태에서의 승용차환산계수를 제시하였다. 본 논문은 1992년 KHCM의 양방향 2차선 도로 및 고속도로의 승용차 환산계수 산정에 실지로 적용된 방법론 및 자료를 수정없이 그대로 제시하여 독자들이 승용차 환산계수 산정에 이용된 자료의 양 및 연구 수준의 정도를 이해할 수 있게 하고 독자의 평가를 통하여 미비한 부분은 추후 개정 작업에 반영하기 위함이다.

Estimation of Pedestrian Capacity for Walkway (보행자 도로의 용량산정)

  • The purpose of in this paper is to estimate the capacity and to suggest the level of service for pedestrian walkway. To estimate the pedestrian walkway capacity, Pedestrian density and speed were collected at the walkways in the subway station and the sidewalks. The simple linear repression of pedestrian density and speed models were developed for the relationships between the pedestrian flow rate and the pedestrian speed. The analysis results are as follow : First. the ranges of capacity for walkway were found minimum 106p/m/m and maximum 126p/m/m. The capacity of walkway was suggested to 106p/m/m for 2001 KHCM. Second, it found that the range of the critical speeds were between 40m/minute and 43m/minute and the range of the critical densities were between 2.65 p/$m^2$ and 2.85 p/$m^2$. Third, the range of level of service are similar to that of the 2,000 US HCM. This study suggests that occupancy, density and speed at Los E use 0.38$m^2$/p, 2.6 p/$m^2$ and 40m/minute respectively.

A Study on Effectiveness of Entry/Exit Flare at Roundabout (진입 및 진출차로 퍼짐에 따른 회전교차로 효과 분석)

  • This study deals with the roundabout by flare of entry and exit. The goal is to analyze the relative effectiveness of roundabout by flare of entry and exit. In pursuing the above, this study gives the particular attentions to comparing the performances using VISSIM software. The main results analyzed are as follows. First, the single and double roundabouts are analyzed to have LOS F in the case of total entering vehicles of 2,400pcph and 4,400pcph Second, the roundabouts by entry flare analyzed to have LOS F in the case of total entering vehicles of 2,800~3,200pcph and the roundabouts by entry and exit flare analyzed to have LOS F in the case of total entering vehicles of 3,200~3,600pcph. Finally, result of comparative analysis of roundabout and roundabout by flare of entry and exit, capacity of roundabout by flare of entry and exit are located between 1-lane roundabout and 2-lane roundabout. therefore it analyzed that roundabout by flare of entry and exit can be added to new type roundabout.

  • TRS 무선망은 셀룰라 시스템과 동일한 네트워크 교환 기술로서 다수의 기지국으로 배치된 광역의 서비스 시스템에 의해 그 내에서는 어디를 가더라도 교신이 가능하도록 되어 있다. TRS 시스템 설계에서 고려해야 하는 우선사항은 용량에 관한 설계이다. 예상된 가입자로부터 지역별 통화량을 조사와 가입자당 통화량을 조사한 후, 각 세부 구역별 통화량 값을 구한 다음 가용 주파수 대역과 가입자당 수용 가입자의 값으로부터 FA당 통화 용량 및 기지국 유형별 가입자 수용용량을 계산한다. 더불어 통화품질 수준을 고려하는 엔지니어링이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문은 TRS 무선망에서의 용량설계 연구내용의 일부로, 최종적인 채널용량을 산정함으로써 최종적 목표인 기지국 수/유형/용량을 결정하는 것을 목표로 한다.

Development and Application of LOS (Level of Service) for Accessibility to Railway Stations (철도역 연계서비스수준(LOS) 평가지표 설정 및 적용방안)

  • This paper presents how LOS (Level of Service) of connectivity at railway stations is developed. Based on interview surveys to railway users at 56 railway stations, the catchment areas for railway is defined and MOE (Measures of Effectiveness) is also developed. The MOE is determined to be the weighted access time (min) and LOS "D" was set up between 45 mins and 60 mins. The 56 railway stations is evaluated based on this MOE and most of them is found to be below LOS "E". Finally some guideline for improving the LOS of accessibility. They are an expansions of accessibility facility, an expansion of bus route, an improvement of congestion roads, and expansions of parking lots for automobile users.

  • The level of service (LOS) of the Highway Capacity Manual (KHCM) has been used as a basic criterion at decision making processes for signalized intersections in Korea. The KHCM provides five steps for the signalized intersection analysis. Among them, lane grouping, which is the third step, significantly influence the final LOS. The current method presented in the KHCM, however, classifies a shared lane as a de facto turning lane group, even though the turning traffic of the shared lane is few. Thus, this research was initiated to provide an alternative. To this end, three alternatives were suggested, including the method based on the lane grouping presented in the U.S. Highway Capacity Manual, the method using turning ratio of shared turning lane, and the method using a threshold traffic volume in lane grouping. The feasibilities of the three methods were evaluated using a calibrated CORSIM model. Conclusively, the method using a threshold traffic volume in lane grouping outperformed.

  • 멀티미디어 서비스환경에서는 수백에서 수천의 클라이언트들이 하나의 서버에 접속되기 때문에 서버 결합이 미치는 영향이 상당히 크다. 이러한 결함은 단지 서버 자체의 장애로 끝나는 것이 아니라 그로 인해 서비스 제공자들에게 유형.무형의 막대한 재산상의 피해를 가져올수 있다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 서버를 구성하고 있는 자원(프로세서, 디스크, 네트워크)의 결함 발생을 고려한 큐잉 네트워크 모델을 개발하였다. 복수개의 M/M/1 큐를 큐잉 네트워크로 연결하여, 각 자원에 대한 접근 및 서비스를 모델링하였으며, 각 자원에서의 서비스 시간 지연 비율(큐의 응답시간)의 조정을 통해서, 서버 자원의 결함 발생을 고려하였다. 고객 도착률과 자원 고장률 변동에 대한 서버 자원의 이용률과 큐의 길이를 구하여 효율적인 시스템 구성 자원의 부분별 용량을 산정하였으며 , 또한 데이터 패킷 응답 시간 분포 및 고장률 변화에 따른 시스템의 신뢰도 수준을 계산하였다. 이와 같은 서비스 시스템 성능에 관련된 파라미터 분석을 통하여 멀티미디어 데이터 서비스 수준 (Quality of Service)에 중요한 영향을 미치는 서버 설계 요소를 파악하였고, 시뮬레이터 패키지를 활용한 모의 실험을 통하여 개발된 큐잉 네트워크 모델의 정확성을 검증하였다.

Estimating the Level-Of-Service for Walkways by Using Fuzzy Approximate Reasoning (퍼지근사추론을 이용한 보행 서비스수준 산정)

  • Although walking is an important transport mode which should be promoted, realistic studies about walking is not sufficient. Especially, due to the transportation planning oriented toward automobile, there is not realistic analysis method for walking in the Highway Capacity Manual. Therefore, in this study the fuzzy approximate reasoning was employed to build a model for the analysis of walkways service level. For the input variable the noise level and brightness as well as the pedestrian flow rate were employed and the output variable was the walking satisfaction degree. The fuzzy models were constructed for daytime and nighttime separately. The forecastability analysis for the models were conducted using $R^2$, MAE and MSE. The values of them for the daytime model are 0.802, 0.729 and 0.735 respectively and the values for nighttime are 0.893, 0.878 and 0.860 respectively, so it can be said that the models explain the real situation well. As a result of this study, it can be concluded that the noise level has stronger effects to walking satisfaction then the brightness in night.

A Study on Level of Service of Pedestrian Facility in Transfer Stations at Urban Railroad (도시철도 환승역의 환승보행시설의 서비스수준에 관한 연구)

  • The government continues to make efforts to improve effectiveness, integration and connectivity of public transportation systems. But there have been only a few studies about it. This paper addresses the quality evaluation of pedestrian facility service in transfer stations at urban railroad. LOS (Level Of Service) model of urban railroad by facility based on the body ellipse and density recalculated considering the recent Korean body standard and the suggested Pedestrian Moving Equivalent (PME) and Pedestrian Waiting Equivalent (PWE). For LOS model for the ticket booths and ticket vending machines, queuing theory has been applied to determine LOS of Pedestrians. And the importance weights among the pedestrian facilities is obtained by applying AHP analysis. Lastly, this paper shows and discusses the evaluation results of overall LOS of pedestrian facilities of five urban railroad transfer stations in Seoul.

Design Methodology of System-Level Simulators for Wideband CDMA Cellular Standards (광대역 CDMA 셀룰러 표준을 위한 시스템 수준 시뮬레이터의 설계 방법론)

  • This tutorial paper presents the design methodology of system-level simulators targeted for code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular standards such as EV-DO (Evolution-Data Only) and broadcast multicast service (BCMCS). The basic structure and simulation flow of system-level simulators are delineated, following the procedure of cell layout, mobile drops, channel modeling, received power calculation, scheduling, packet error prediction, and traffic generation. Packet data transmissions on the forward link of CDMA systems and EV-DO BCMCS systems are considered for modeling simulators. System-level simulators for cellular standards are modeled and developed with high-level languages and utilized to evaluate and predict air interface performance metrics including capacity and coverage.
