Multi-thresholds Selection Based on Plane Curves (평면 곡선에 기반한 다중 임계값 결정)

  • The plane curve approach which was proposed by Boukharouba et. al. is a multi-threshold selection method through searching peak-valley based on histogram cumulative distribution function. However the method is required to select parameters to compose plane curve, and the shape of plane curve is affected according to parameters. Therefore detection of peak-valley is effected by parameters. In this paper, we propose an entropy maximizing-based method to select optimal plane curve parameters, and propose a multi-thresholding method based on the selected parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by multi-thresholding experiments on various images and comparison with other conventional thresholding methods based on histogram.

Numerical Representation of Hull Form Using Modified Cubic Spline (Modification Cubic Spline에 의한 선체형상의 수치적 표현)

  • Hull form can be described numerically by two approaches, one is to describe a hull form with a set of curves("curve approach"), and the other is to describe it with surfaces directly("surface approach"). This paper describes the numerical definition scheme of hull form using curve approach method which defines the hull form by a set of curves consisting of 2-dimensional transverse section curves and 3-dimensional longitudinal curves. A set of curves in the hull form definition scheme is described by the modified cubic spline which modified the general parametric cubic spline in order to ensure a very smooth curvature distribution within the curve segment even though a curve segment has large tangent angle at its end points. Illustrative examples are given showing the application of the method to represent the hull form of SWATH ship and oceanographic research vessel. Also, examples for hull form transformation are shown by using this method connected with transformation technique.

Analysis of Time-Area Curve Effects on Watershed Runoff (시간-면적곡선의 유역유출해석 영향분석)

  • The objectives of this study are to analyze the effects of time-area curve on Clark's watershed runoff method in addition to propose a GIS-based objective method for creating time-area curve. For the relative comparison of the variation of time-area curve to those of travel time and storage coefficient of Clark method, runoff sensitivities are performed on Soyang- and Chungju-dam watersheds for 1990. 9. 10~9. 14 event. The dimensionless time-area curve in HEC-1 that can be utilized in the case that the curve is not supplied is also tested in this study. The important results obtained in this study are as follows: The effects of time-area curve created by either GIS-based objective method or dimensionless curve are not significant for runoff analysis; The storage coefficient (K) and travel time( t$_{c}$), Clark's other two model parameters, are more sensitive than time-area curve for peak flow simulation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the parameters K and t$_{c}$ are more carefully estimated rather than time-area curve, when Clark method is used for runoff analysis.

Effects of Inelastic Demand Spectrum on Seismic Capacity Evaluation of Curved Bridge by Capacity Spectrum Method (역량스펙트럼을 이용한 곡선교의 내진성능평가에 대한 비탄성요구스펙트럼의 영향)

  • The capacity spectrum method(CSM) has been more frequently used as a tool to evaluate the seismic capacity of the structure. Many formulas of strength reduction factors(SRF) have been proposed and adopted to generate the inelastic demand spectrum for the CSM. This study evaluates the impacts of the type of the SRF on the inelastic demand spectrum and finally on the seismic response displacement of curved bridge. For the purpose, the several existing formulas of SRFs were comparatively investigated through the case study. Curved bridges with different subtended angles were selected and the displacements of the bridge piers were estimated by using the different formulas of SRFs. Nonlinear time history analyses were also performed for the validation purpose of the CSM results. According to study results, the CSM may generate the larger displacement responses than the actual behaviors for the curved bridge with larger subtended angles. Though many methods have been suggested to generate the inelastic demand spectrum for CSM, they might not give noticeable differences in inelastic displacement of the bridge pier.

  • In this paper, System performance parameters such as throughput, blocking probability and delay have been analyzed and expressed as a function of demanding traffic and service termination, probability, and we centers our discussion at particular downlink port of satellite switch which is capable of switching the individual spot beam and processing the information signals in the packet satellite communications with demand assigned multiple access technique. Delay versus throughput as a function of traffic parameters with several service termination probability can be derived via mathematical formulation and the relative differences of transmission delay is also compared.

  • Convergence Confinement Method (CCM) makes a more simple judgement in a ground-support reaction than numerical method. Also this method is good for the applicability of construction feedback and the analysis of field measurement. However, there has been little research with respect to the application of CCM in tunnel construction. One of the problems in CCM is a decision of the time to support installation. To decide a reasonable supporting installation time, support characteristic curve and displacement characteristic curve considering construction stage are proposed. In addition, to predict displacement distribution ratio and load distribution ratio, the time dependent support reaction curve is used. Finally, through a comparison of the result between CCM and numerical analysis, the trust of this study is proved and the practical application is proposed to control resonable tunnel construction management.

  • 최적유역관리 및 수질개선을 목표로 시행되고 있는 오염총량관리제도의 실질적인 효과를 달성하기 위해서는 해당 유역의 현황, 오염물질 배출특성 규명, 기준유량 및 기준수질의 산정이 요구되며, 하천 수리 수문 수질 모형화를 위한 장기간의 수질.유량 변동의 조사 및 분석이 선차적인 과제이다. 환경부는 오염총량관리제의 효율적인 추진을 위해 2004년 8월부터 현재까지 8일 간격(30회 이상/년)으로 오염총량관리 단위유역 41개 지점과 시도요구 6개 지점 등 총 47개의 지점에 대해 직 간접적으로 유량자료를 생성하고 있다. 이에 따라 관측한 수질 및 유량 자료는 단위유역별 오염부하량 산정, 삭감부하량 할당 및 이행평가에 활용하고 있는 상태이다. 또한 건설교통부, 수자원공사 등의 수문관측 기관에서는 도산, 낙동, 금호 등의 단위유역 지점에 대한 유량측정을 실시하여 주요 수자원계획시 기초자료로 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 낙동강 유역의 기존 건설교통부, 수자원공사 관측망 측점지점에 대한 자료의 결측수 및 결측율, 수위-유량 관계곡선식 등의 정확도를 표준오차 및 불확실도를 정량적으로 산정하여 유량측정결과의 오염 총량과리를 위한 이용 가능성을 평가 및 소개하고자 한다.

  • 농촌진흥청에서 제공하고 있는 수치토양도는 수문 수자원 분야에서 SCS-CN법을 이용한 유효우량 및 유출곡선 산정에 가장 많이 활용되고 있다. 토양조사 국책사업 결과 전산화된 토양도 및 토양검정 데이터베이스에 기초한 토양정보 웹 시스템은 전국의 토양 전자지도와 토양 통계 자료를 주제별로 검색하거나 필지별 토양분석 성적에 따른 토양관리처방서를 조회하는데 사용되는 농업분야 이외의 사용자 그룹을 위해 필요한 정보를 제공하도록 활용 및 유통 요구도가 높아지고 있다. 수치토양도가 수문학적 토양유형 정보를 포함하도록 제공하는 것이 먼저 필요할 것으로 생각되고 다음으로는 수문 수자원 분야 활용 측면에서 수치토양도가 제공하는 속성, 축척, 제공형태, 좌표체계, 서비스 방식 등에 대하여 활용정책을 마련하여 이에 따라 자료가 유통될 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다. 앞으로 활용이 가능하게 될 수치세부정밀토양도와 토양유형을 이용하여 충북 괴산군 소수면의 소유역에 대해 SCS 삼각법에 따른 단위도 작성, 유효우량 산출 및 유출곡선을 작성한 결과 농업과학기술원의 정 등(2006)이 분류한 토양유형을 이용한 결과 정 등(1995)에 따른 토양유형을 이용한 결과에 비해 CN값과 유효우량이 더 높게 나타났고 삼각단위도로부터 유도한 정점의 유출량과 시간별 유량 관측값에 더 가까운 것으로 나타났다.

Evaluation of fire-proofing performance of reinforced concrete tunnel lining coated by newly developed material (신개발 내화재료에 피복된 철근콘크리트 터널라이닝의 내화성능평가)

  • Efficient traffic network is required in urban area for good living condition. However, dense traffic network creates traffic jam and gives bad influences to the ground environment. Therefore, advanced use of underground and tunnel is required. But, in the last 20 years many tunnel fire accidents have occurred all over the world. Increase of tunnels and increase of traffics result in increase of tunnel fire. Tunnel fire creates damage to people and to the tunnel structure. Also, tunnel fire creates a big economical loss. In a mountain tunnel, the stability of the tunnel will not be disturbed by fire although the tunnel lining will get a severe damage. However, in a shield tunnel or immersed tube tunnel, cut and cover tunnel, there is a high possibility that tunnel itself will collapse by fire because their tunnel concrete lining is designed as a structural member. The aim of this experimental research is to verify the fire protection performance of newly developed cementitious material compared with the broadly used existing products in Europe and Japan. For the experiments, the general NATM tunnel concrete linings with the newly developed material were tested using fire loading curve of RABT (Maximum peak temperature is $1,200^{\circ}C$) and RWS (Maximum peak temperature is $1,350^{\circ}C$). From the test results, the newly developed fire protection material applied with 30 mm thickness showed good fire-proofing performance under RABT fire loading.

  • Analytical probabilistic vulnerability analysis requires extensive computing effort as a result of the randomness in both input motion and response characteristics. In this study, a new methodology whereby a set of vulnerability curves are derived based on the fundamental response quantities of stiffness, strength and ductility is presented. A response database of coefficients describing lognormal vulnerability relationships is constructed by employing aclosed-form solution for a generalized single-degree-of-freedom system. Once the three fundamental quantities of a wide range of structural systems are defined, the vulnerability curves for various limit states can be derived without recourse to further simulation. Examples of application are given and demonstrate the extreme efficiency of the proposed approach in deriving vulnerability relationships.
