The purpose of this study was the development of adsorbents for the refining of edible oil using agricultural byproducts such as rice hull, barley hull, and soybean hull as well as evaluation of their adsorptive effects against free fatty acids and lutein, the major impurities of soybean oil. Ash-type and carbon-type adsorbents were produced from the hulls. Ash-type adsorbents such as rice hull ash (RHA), barley hull ash (BHA) and soybean hull ash (SHA) were effective for the removal of free fatty acids; the acid value of degummed soybean oil was decreased by 86% upon treatment with 5% SHA. However, carbon-type adsorbents such as rice hull carbon (RHC), barley hull carbon (BHC), and soybean hull carbon (SHC) were effective for removing lutein, resulting in a 52% decrease in the lutein content of degummed soybean oil upon treatment with 5% SHC. Whereas ash-type adsorbents were composed of mesopores or macropores with small surface areas and total pore volume, carbon-type adsorbents were mainly composed of micropores with large surface areas and total pore volume.

Herzog & de Meuron have been tried to diverse skin construction process and effects on their lots of projects. The purpose of this study is an understanding of the characteristics on a skin construction of "Prada Aoyama Tokyo". The results of this study are as follows. First, Skin is an element for impacting inside spatial sense by accommodating relationship between structure and skim. And skin is not only something for expression but also spatial matter. Especially their principal of building form is an effects by relationship between structure and skin.

Recently, architectural design has been changing from formal design to freeform design due to the digitalization of construction industry. Especially, the formal design has been accepted as a design trend recently and applied many times as a design concept in the architectural design competitions such as turn-key. However, various deflects such as water leak and cracks have been occurred because the traditional construction methods had been applied without any revision or adaptation of the formal construction method for the freeform building construction. Design and construction of freeform building has been developed as an new method in order to solve the problems and minimize the construction duration and cost for the freeform building. Therefore this research deduced the positive implications for developing freefrom envelope by analyzing the domestic and abroad cases and proposed the considerations during design and construction of the freeform envelope as follows. First, the freeform design should consider the constructability for the freeform envelope. Second, manufacturing technology for the two-way curvature of the unit panel should be developed. Third, exposed concrete form method should be developed for the freeform envelope of concrete. Forth, material characteristics, construction method and facility management should be considered in order to manage precipitation and keep water-proof according to the classification of the freeform envelope area.
The objective of this study is applied to office buildings to evaluate quantitative evaluation method about performance of double-skin at design stage to establish the basis for the purpose of evaluation performance. Select the evaluation building about design plan for applying the double-skin using the dynamic heat load analysis program the annual heating and cooling load of before and after the double-skin. Using CFD to analyze wind factor and applied ventilation for realistic results. Effects of double-skin to apply, and control techniques that can be done more realistically proposed through to set and control for shade control mode of ventilator and inside cavity wall of double-skin. Apply for the building the double-skin due to interpretation of the annual heating and cooling loads applied to interpret the quantitative effect confirmed the possibility. According to the form of a double skin was confirmed cavity environmental changes.
Onions are commonly available and easily processed, and since their skins are thrown away they could be very useful materials from the viewpoint of environmental preservation. This study aimed to process onion skins into the state of powder and look into the optimum condition for hair dyeing by decoloring virgin hair four times and observing the hair dyeing quality and its mechanical and morphologic changes by the different condition of onion skins in duration, temperature, density, pH, and mordant treatment. The observations of hair surface through scanning microscopy showed the formation of cuticle layer, though in a little blown-up state in the case of the hair dyed with onion skin application, when compared with bleaching hair with the completely dissolved cuticle layer. According to the above findings of experiments, the dyeing quality of the hair dyes with onion skin application was excellent, the dyeing was also feasible without mordants, and the use of Fe as the mordant increased dyeing exhaustion more, which would make it an effective hair dye. These results of the experiments indicate that the natural pigment extracted from onion skins can be actually used for hair dyeing from the viewpoints of the dyeing quality and the skin treatment.

Anti-skin aging agent could be have an inhibition effect of ROS production as well as fragmentation and change of collagen cross linkage in collagen molecule. For the monitoring of lipid peroxidation and collagen degradation, the skin of young and old rats were incised and observed 7 days. In the result, the wound closure was observed in the skin from 10 of 11 young rats and in 8 of 11 old rats. And the longer wound length but shorter wound closure, weaker collagen density and thicker epidermis were observed in old rats than in young rats. The level of hydroxyproline as a parameter of collagen synthesis and MDA as a parameter of lipid peroxidation was lower in old group than in young group. The cyst and lacuna between collagen bundle and fibroblast were observed in old rats in contrast to young rats. So that we propose that MDA and hydroxyproline could be used for monitoring of anti-skin aging agent.

Expression vector (pGEX-Tu) for the coat protein (CP) gene of turnip mosaic virus Ca strain (TuMV-Ca) was constructed by incorporation of TuMV CP gene into pGEX-KG vector which had ${\beta}$-galactosidase gene and IPTG (isopropylthio-${\beta}$-D-galactoside) induction site. The results of ELISA and western hybridization indicated that optimal condition of the expression were when IPTG and western hybridization indicated that optimal condition of the expression were when IPTG induction was carried out on YTA medium with ampicillin in 2 hours after the E. coli seed inoculation ($A_{595}$=0.1/ml). TuMV CP gene was expressed with GST (Glutathion S-Transferase) gene fusion system, and the size of fusion protein was estimated to be 59kDa, for TuMV CP was 33 kDa and GST was 26 kDa.
To develop the effective method for chestnut peeling, we examined the effect of peeling by acid and alkali treatment on their concentration, immersion temperature and time. Furthermore the physical properties of chestnut were investigated. In alkali treatment, 9% NaOH treated at 40$^{\circ}C$ for 9min was the most efficient for peeling outer peel, while acid treatment was less effective. But in the peeling of inner peel, acid treatment was more effective than alkali, especially, 3% HCIO$_4$ treated at 50$^{\circ}C$ for 30 min was the most effective. The correalation coefficient between weight and inner(outer) peel weight was higher than other physical properties, and multiple regression equation was established for predicting inner(outer) peel weight.

The lap splice lengths of deformed steel reinforcing bars and GFRP bars with two different to surface type were experimentally compared using beam specimens. The purpose was to evaluate the length required of the GFRP bar to develop strength equivalent to the conventional steel reinforcing bar. The main test variable was the lap splice length. Two different GFRP bar surfaces were tested: (1) spiral-type GFRP bars and (2) sand coated GFRP bars. For the conventional steel bars (SD400 grade), strength over 400 MPa in tension was reached using the lap splice length of $30d_b$. Splice failure was observed in the specimen with the lap splice length of $20d_b$. For the spiral-type and sand coated GFRP bars, the tensile strength developed in the GFRP bars decreased with decreasing splice lengths. Development of the cracks on beam surfaces was clearly visible for the beams reinforced with the GFRP bars. Mid-span deflections, however, were significantly smaller than the comparable beams with conventional steel bars indicating potential ductility problem.
