Experimental contribution analysis of external aeroacoustic noise sources to interior noise of automobile (자동차 외부 공기음향 소음원들의 실험적 실내 기여도 분석 기술 개발)

  • The contribution analysis of various external aeroacoustic noise sources to interior noise is important, enabling to design an automobile with a low interior noise level. With a new technique, the CD (Cholesky Decomposition), it is proposed to decompose an overall interior noise spectrum into multiple spectra, each representing the contribution of a specific noise source to the interior noise. In order to validate this method, three kinds of experiments were conducted. Furthermore, it is proposed to improve the CD-based contribution analysis method to be integrated with existing exterior microphone arrays in the wind tunnel. This method was validated with an experiment with two speakers.

Vibration of Pipes Coupled with Internal and External Fluids (내부 및 외부 유체와 연성된 파이프의 진동 해석)

  • The waveguide finite element (WFE) method is a useful numerical technique to investigate wave propagation along waveguide structures which have uniform cross-sections along the length direction ('x' direction). In the present paper, the vibration and radiated noise of the submerged pipe with fluid is investigated numerically by coupling waveguide finite elements and wavenumber boundary elements. The pipe and internal fluid are modelled with waveguide finite elements and the external fluid with wavenumber boundary elements which are fully coupled. In order to examine this model, the point mobility, dispersion curves and radiated power are calculated and compared for several different coupling conditions between the pipe and internal/external fluids.

  • Vibrations and wave propagations in waveguide structures can be analysed efficiently by using waveguide finite element (WFE) method. The WFE method only models the 2-dimensional cross-section of the waveguide with finite elements so that the size of the model and computing time are much less than those of the 3-dimensional FE models. For cylindrical shells or pipes which have simple cross-sections, the external coupling with fluids can be treated theoretically. For waveguides of complex cross-sectional geometries, however, numerical methods are required to deal with external fluids. In this numerical approach, the external fluid is modelled by the boundary elements (BEs) and connected to WFEs. In order to validate this WFE/BE method, a pipe submerged in water is considered in this study. The dispersion diagrams and point mobilities of the pipe simulated are compared to those that theoretically obtained. Also the acoustic powers radiated from the pipe are predicted and compared in both cases of air and water as an external medium.

  • 전세계적으로 2002년 7월에 발효될 SOLAS 2000 규정에 의하면, 국제항해에 종사하는 선박의 경우, 선교(bridge)가 밀폐되어 외부 음향신호를 청취할 수 없을 때는 음향수신장치(SRS)를 설치해야한다. 이 연구에서는 SRS에 법적으로 요구되는 사양을 검토한 후, 부가하여 고려되어야할 사항에 대해서 논의하였다.

Fabrication and Characterization of an Underwater Acoustic Tonpilz Vector Sensor for the Estimation of Sound Source Direction (음원의 방향 추정을 위한 수중 음향 Tonpilz 벡터 센서의 제작 및 특성 평가)

  • Typical underwater acoustic transducers detect only the magnitude of an acoustic pressure and they have the limitation of not being able to recognize the direction of the sound signal. Hence, the authors of this paper proposed a new vector sensor structure based on Tonpilz transducers that could detect both the magnitude and the direction of a sound pressure. In the proposed structure, the piezoceramic ring was divided into four segments, and proper combination of the output voltages of the segments in response to the external sound pressure could provide the information on the orientation of the sound source. In this paper, a Tonpilz transducer has been fabricated to have the proposed structure and its characteristics has been measured to confirm the validity of the proposed structure.

  • 선박/잠수함에 설치하는 소나(sonar)는 외부 해양 환경 및 유체 흐름을 위해 소나 돔을 설치하여 운용한다. 하지만 소나 돔 설치로 인해 핵심 기능인 음향신호 송/수신 기능 저하를 야기 시킨다. 따라서 소나돔을 설계시, 구조적으로는 수중 폭팔 등의 각종 하중으로부터 센서를 보호할 수 있도록 설계하고 음향적으로는 음파의 송수신 신호를 저하시키지 않는 재질을 고려하여 설계 및 제작을 하여야 한다. 소나돔에 의한 음향 손실을 최소화하기 위하여 설계 시, 소나돔음향창 시편을 통하여 음향신호가 이를 투과하면서 생기는 신호 왜곡 혹은 투과 손실 측정을 수행한다. 제한된 크기의 수조 시험장에서 투과 손실이 측정이 되는데, 음원 반사, 회절(diffraction) 등의 문제로 인하여 다양한 주파수 대역에서의 측정이 불가피 하다. 이때, 좁은 빔폭 (Beamwidth)을 갖는 Parametric array를 이용하여 음원 회절이 생기지 않는 범위 내에서 음향창 시편의 크기를 최소화 시킬 수 있으며 제한된 공간에서도 효율적으로 음향창 시편의 투과 손실을 측정 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 parametric array를 이용하여 음향창 시편의 크기를 최소화 하고 이를 이용하여 음향창 투과 손실을 측정하는 연구를 수행하였다.

  • Articulation test is a good predictor of spatial speech transmission quality. Like many other languages, articulation testing method using Korean language was proposed in 1989, and which was proved as a valid indicator in rooms with static background noise. In this paper, the testing method is examined in variable noise conditions. According to the experiment performed in 26 classrooms with variable background noise, the proposed articulation testing method using Korean Language is still in variable conditions.

Study on Sound Reflection Control using an Active Sound Absorber (능동흡음재를 이용한 음파반사 제어기법 연구)

  • This paper reviews a study about sound reflection control using an active sound absorber. An active sound absorber includes sound transmitting and receiving piezocomposite sensor layers molded by water tight epoxy, and connected with a feedback controller. The multi-layer sensors and the controller consists a closed feedback loop, whose intrinsic characteristics shows excellent impedance matching performance within specified frequency band, and consequently, minimizes reflection waves. Multilayer sound transmission model is derived based on one dimensional model, and its performance is verified with experiment using a pulse tube setup.

  • In the structural analysis of a launch vehicle, the construction of loading functions and the determination of responses to them are very important. Among many kinds of loads, acoustic load generated by exhaust is a random load that can be described in a statistical manner. In this study, loading functions corresponding to the acoustic loads are constructed and applied to the structural analysis of launch vehicle. Acoustic loading functions are constructed using source allocation method. Structural analyses are carried out by using finite element modelling and frequency response function of finite element model. The stresses resulting from acoustic loads and acceleration power spectral density functions at interfaces of each section are calculated. These analyses are essential for the development of environmental test specifications and associated dynamic design requirements which are necessary to ensure overall vehicle reliability.
