  • As a building energy saving standard strengthened, The number of building installed external thermal insulation composite system(ETICS) using EPS insulation increased. But frequent fire accident in the buildings installed EIFS using EPS led to strengthening of building fire safety regulation. This study is for fire property of EPS ETICS reinforced with noncombustible calcium silicate-based mineral insulation as a fire spread prevention structure(FSPS). Fire test for large scale wall by ISO 13785-2 was applied and results showed EPS EIFS with FSPS got 3~8 times superior fire safety than normal EIFS by visual investigation. Temperature and heat flux measurement results, which data of upside of specimen were lower than downside, also supported fire safety of EIFS with FSPS.

  • The aims of this study were to consist of the eccentric viewing training software based on Korean and to examine the effects on reading speed. The program was used the Korean stimuli by rapid serial visual presentation. Single-subject A-B-A' research design for 2 normally-sighted young adults was used to examine the effect. The reading speed data on short-sentence of participants showed a statistically significant result, as both data from the intervention period and post-training baseline period deviated more than 2 standard deviations from the pre-training baseline period. Through this study, we suggested that eccentric viewing training software based on Korean characters stimulation would allow clinician in Korea to improve reading skills of low vision individuals with central scotomas.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present improvement measures for enhancing practicality through case analysis of Inner and Outer-Temporary Housing. Method: First, the basic functions and types of Temporary Housing, were discussed through prior research analysis. Second, a practicality problem was derived by analyzing cases of Temporary Housing. Third, improvement measures were proposed to ensure the practicality of Temporary Housing based on the problems identified. Results: Factors such as habitability, economics, construct ability and operation methods that should ultimately be improved in Temporary Housing, and these elements were divided into production, transportation, construction, and storage according to the life cycle, suggesting matters to be improved in order to improve practicality at each stage. Conclusion: The proposed improvements are considered to help develop inner and outer-temporary housing.

  • This research proposed a model for automatically monitoring the quality of insulation adhesive application in external insulation construction. Upon case implementation, the area segmentation model demonstrated a 92.3% accuracy, while the area and distance calculation accuracies of the proposed model were 98.8% and 96.7%, respectively. These findings suggest that the model can effectively prevent the most common insulation defect, insulation failure, while simultaneously minimizing the need for on-site supervisory personnel during external insulation construction. This, in turn, contributes to the enhancement of the external insulation system. Moving forward, we plan to gather construction images of various external insulation methods to refine the image segmentation model's performance and develop a model capable of automatically monitoring scenarios with a considerable number of insulation materials in the image.
