A Conceptual Study of the underdevelopment of the British Multinational Corporations, 1870-1914: from the perspective of the network theory (1870-1914년 영국의 초국적 기업 발전을 저해한 요인 분석: 연결망(네트워크) 이론의 개념적 적용)

  • The guiding research question of this paper is to discover 'why the UK could not develop a general structure in which transnational corporations were born during the end of the 19th ~ beginning of the 20th century like other countries'. In response to this question, although acknowledging its imperfections, the author would like to explore the causality in the context of 'Social Construction' which is reflected in the attributes of British society. As such, researchers are strongly recommended to take into account the actors' interests and the increased value effect of events which is driven by control power. This paper concludes that: firstly, not only was contempt for industrial capitalism prevalent in British society, the British government was unable to recognize the necessity of promoting policies for the development of transnational corporation. In addition, the increase in the clout of commercial-financial capitalists in the city of London along with the expansion of gentlemanly elites interfered with the transnationality of British companies. Secondly, the foundation of the political and economic structures in the UK experienced continuity and challenge simultaneously. Since the 1850's, the British social structure has been progressively characterized by the strengthening power of the commercial-financial elites in London, which resulted not in the transnationality of manufacturing but that of financial services. Finally, the configuration of the social network driven by the British elites consists of the actors' interests and control power in association with severance and connection. Unlike the complementarity of interests, in the initial stage, intended connection based on voluntary motivation between gentries and commercial-financial elites occurred in terms of control power. However, ultimately, the holding of power was transferred to the commercial-financial elites excluding the industrial capitalists and resulted in the reconfiguration of the social network.

  • we propose an enhanced self-generation supervised algorithm that by combining an ART algorithm and the delta-bar-delta method. Form the input layer to the hidden layer, ART-1 and ART-2 are used to produce nodes, respectively. A winner-take-all method is adopted to the connection weight adaption so that a stored pattern for some pattern is updated. we test the recognition of student identification, a certificate of residence, and an identifier from container that require nodes of hidden layers in neural network. In simulation results, the proposed self-generation supervised learning algorithm reduces the possibility of local minima and improves learning speed and paralysis than conventional neural networks.

A study on recognition improvement of velopharyngeal insufficiency patient's speech using various types of deep neural network (심층신경망 구조에 따른 구개인두부전증 환자 음성 인식 향상 연구)

  • This paper proposes speech recognition systems employing Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) structures combined with Hidden Markov Moldel (HMM) to effectively recognize the speech of VeloPharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI) patients, and compares the recognition performance of the systems to the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM-HMM) and fully-connected Deep Neural Network (DNNHMM) based speech recognition systems. In this paper, the initial model is trained using normal speakers' speech and simulated VPI speech is used for generating a prior model for speaker adaptation. For VPI speaker adaptation, selected layers are trained in the CNN-HMM based model, and dropout regulatory technique is applied in the LSTM-HMM based model, showing 3.68 % improvement in recognition accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed LSTM-HMM-based speech recognition system is effective for VPI speech with small-sized speech data, compared to conventional GMM-HMM and fully-connected DNN-HMM system.

Experimental Test for Seismic Performance of PCS Structural System (PCS 구조 시스템의 내진 성능 분석)

  • The PCS system, which consists of precast concrete column and steel beam, is a kind of composite structural systems. In this paper, experimental study has been conducted to analyze seismic performance of bolted beam-to-column connections for the PCS system. Based on experimental results from the seismic testing of eight interior PCS specimens, it shows that behavior of PCS system is satisfactory to seismic performance criteria of ACI such as strength deterioration, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity except initial stiffness. All of the specimens maintain their strength at large levels of story drift without significant loss of stiffness and show high ductility level for inelastic behavior. The energy dissipation capacity is two times greater than requirement of ACI criterion. But the initial stiffness of all specimens does not satisfy ACI criterion, and this phenomenon is similar to the other composite structural systems such as RCS, CFT system.

  • 오늘날 특정 유역에서의 수문현상 및 수문순환에 대한 분석을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이를 위해서는 수문자료의 관측은 반드시 수반되어야 하며, 관측자료의 품질관리 및 원시자료의 관리 등이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 관측된 수문자료의 품질관리라 함은 자료의 신뢰도 분석과 자료의 보완의 두 과정을 포함한다. 여기서, 신뢰도 분석이라 함은 자료 속에 포함된 불확실성을 판별하는 작업을 의미하며, 자료의 불확실성은 위에서 언급된 자료의 불충분 및 불안정을 제외한 부정확, 불일관성에서 비롯된다. 자료의 보완이라 함은 자료의 신뢰도 분석을 통하여 자료 속에 포함된 불확실한 성분들을 찾아내고, 이를 제거한 후 완전한 자료로 대체하고, 자료가 결측된 경우 공백을 연결함으로써 자료의 완전성을 유지하거나 또는 불충분한 자료를 확장하는 일련의 보완작업이라고 정의한다. 자료의 품질을 결정하는 주요 인자는 크게 관측소 관리의 하드웨어적인 측면과 자료 분석의 소프트웨어적인 측면이 있다. 하드웨어적인 측면에서의 수문자료 품질관리를 위해서 본 과제에서는 현장에 설치된 수위계, 강우량계의 센서 등에 대한 장비를 점검하고, 현장실측을 통해 지속적으로 측정값을 보정해주는 역할을 수행하고 있으며, 소프트웨어적인 측면에서 수문자료의 품질관리를 위해서는 수문자료의 수집 단계부터 시작하여 데이터베이스 저장, 필터링, 통계분석, 웹 및 C/S(Client Server)를 통한 배포 등의 일련의 자료 처리 과정을 수행할 수 있는 수문자료관리 프로그램을 웹 시스템과 C/S로 분류하여 정의내릴 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 수문자료의 관리자 입장에서의 보다 효율적이고 체계적으로 자료를 관리하고 분석하기 위한 방안으로 수문자료관리시스템(Hydrologic Data Aquisition and Management System, HDAMS)을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 안양천 유역에서 시범 적용하고 있으며, 범용성을 전제로 개발되었다. 또한 수문자료 관리 프로그램의 DB 구조 및 DB 자료를 활용한 다양한 분석기능은 갖도록 설계하였으며 계획된 데이터베이스 구조를 바탕으로 계측기 인터페이스와 사용자 인터페이스, 데이터베이스 간의 연동이 원활히 이루어지도록 개발하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 부스트-플라이백(Integrated Boost-Flyback Converter, IBFC) 직렬 연결 구조 컨버터의 동작 특성 해석 및 정확한 제어기 설계를 위한 개선된 모델링 방법을 제시한다. 주 스위치에 의해 IBFC의 부스트, 플라이백 컨버터가 서로 다른 도통 모드로 동시에 동작 하기 때문에 2대 컨버터의 모델링과 회로 해석을 위한 이론적인 모델링 접근방법과 수학적인 계산과정이 복잡하다. 따라서 IBFC를 등가 전류 소스를 포함한 부스트, 플라이백 컨버터로 각각 나누어 상태 공간 평균화 방법을 이용하여 회로 방정식을 독립적으로 유도한 후, 이 회로 방정식을 종합하여 IBFC의 완전한 상태 공간 방정식을 얻을 수 있다. 제안된 방법은 IBFC의 복잡한 모델링을 간단하게 해 주며, 수학적인 계산 과정도 간소화 시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이를 바탕으로 정상 상태 해석 및 높은 출력 전압 추종 제어기를 설계하였다. 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 제시하여 제안된 방법의 유효함을 검증하였다.

Analysis Model for Approximate Evaluation of Stiffness for Semi-Rigid Connection of Wooden Structures (목조 구조물 접합부의 강성에 대한 근사평가를 위한 해석모델)

  • Modern wooden structures usually are connected with steel fastener type connectors. And joints using multiple connectors in wooden structures will form semi-rigid connection. If connection in wooden structure would be designed to be pinned joint, the underestimate for loads transmitted through connection, would result in the deficient capacity of resistance in connection. And if joints in wooden structures would be assumed to be fully-rigid joint, amount of fasteners needed at the connection could be excessively increased. It will give a bad effect in the view of beauty, constructability and economy. Estimate for the reasonable stiffness of connection might be essential in design of reasonable connection in wooden structure. This paper will suggest analysis modelling technique that can represent approximate stiffness of connections using a common analysis program for double shear connection in order to give help in performing easily the design of wooden structure. It is verified that the suggested approximate analysis modelling technique could represent the behavior in connection by comparing the analysis results with test results for tensile, bending moment.

An implementation of hypercube with routing algorithm in bisectional interconnection network (Bisectional 상호연결 네트워크에서 하이퍼큐브의 구현과 경로배정 알고리즘)

  • On demand of many users, basic networks of a parallel computer system are required to have a property that can embed various topologies. Bisectional interconnection network is known to satisfy this property, and it can embed various topologies optimally. Nowadays one is very interested in the hypercube as a message pssing multicomputer system, so it is very important to implement a hypercube in bisectional network. In this paper, a hypercube is implemented in a versatile bisecional netork, and its routing and broadcasting algorithm are proposed. Conventional bisectional network can accomodata linear array, complete binary tree and mesh structure as its topology. Now hypercube is implemented to be utilized as a general purpose supercomputercommunication architecture. The proposed routing and broadcasting algorithm embedded in bisectional network are general purpose algorithms which satisfy property of conventional hypercube.

  • Our amplifier using an all optical method and a fixed GFF achieved automatic gain flatness throughput the C-band without any NF degradation, and simultaneously achieved a constant 25 dB gain, while input signals were varied between one channel and forty WDM channels. When thirty nine channels were added and dropped, the transient gain variation of the survival channel was not greater than the steady-state gain variation, and its wavelength dependency was negligible.

An Emulation System for Efficient Verification of ASIC Design (ASIC 설계의 효과적인 검증을 위한 에뮬레이션 시스템)

  • In this paper, an ASIC emulation system called ACE (ASIC Emulator) is proposed. It can produce the prototype of target ASIC in a short time and verify the function of ASIC circuit immediately The ACE is consist of emulation software in which there are EDIF reader, library translator, technology mapper, circuit partitioner and LDF generator and emulation hardware including emulation board and logic analyzer. Technology mapping is consist of three steps such as circuit partitioning and extraction of logic function, minimization of logic function and grouping of logic function. During those procedures, the number of basic logic blocks and maximum levels are minimized by making the output to be assigned in a same block sharing product-terms and input variables as much as possible. Circuit partitioner obtain chip-level netlists satisfying some constraints on routing structure of emulation board as well as the architecture of FPGA chip. A new partitioning algorithm whose objective function is the minimization of the number of interconnections among FPGA chips and among group of FPGA chips is proposed. The routing structure of emulation board take the advantage of complete graph and partial crossbar structure in order to minimize the interconnection delay between FPGA chips regardless of circuit size. logic analyzer display the waveform of probing signal on PC monitor that is designated by user. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed emulation system, video Quad-splitter, one of the commercial ASIC, is implemented on the emulation board. Experimental results show that it is operated in the real time of 14.3MHz and functioned perfectly.
