  • With the purpose of enriching existing catalogues with FRBR, which is the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records, in mind, this paper aims to evaluate the impact of bibliographic ontology on the overall system's performance in the field of literature. In doing this, OCLC's FictionFinder(http://fictionfinder.oclc.org) was selected and qualitatively evaluated. In this study 40 university seniors evaluated the following three aspects using the 'transferring thoughts onto paper method': 1) In which ways is this FRBR-aware bibliographical ontology helpful? 2) Are the things which are initially attempted to be helped being helped? 3) Would users seeking one work in particular also see all other related works? In conclusion, this study revealed that, as Cutter claimed in his $2^{nd}$ rule of the library, collocations give added-value to the users and overall ontology provides better interface and usefulness. It also revealed that a system's evaluation with qualitative methodology helped to build full pictures of the system and to grip the information needs of the users when the system is developed. Qualitative evaluations, therefore, could be used as indicators for the evaluation of any information retrieval systems.

  • Typical semantic search query for Semantic search promises to provide more accurate result than present-day keyword matching-based search by using the knowledge base represented logically. Existing keyword-based retrieval system is Preference for the semantic interpretation of a user's query is not the meaning of the user keywords of interconnect, you can not search. In this paper, we propose a method that can provide accurate results to meet the user's search intent to user preference based evaluation by ranking search. The proposed scheme is Integrated ontology-based knowledge base built on the formal structure of the semantic interpretation process based on ontology knowledge base system.

  • Existing speech recognition algorithm have a problem with not distinguish the order of vocabulary, and the voice detection is not the accurate of noise in accordance with recognized environmental changes, and retrieval system, mismatches to user's request are problems because of the various meanings of keywords. In this article, we proposed to event based semantic ontology inference model, and proposed system have a model to extract the speech recognition feature extract using ERB filter. The proposed model was used to evaluate the performance of the train station, train noise. Noise environment of the SNR-10dB, -5dB in the signal was performed to remove the noise. Distortion measure results confirmed the improved performance of 2.17dB, 1.31dB.

  • Several machine learning techniques are able to automatically populate ontology data from web sources. Also the interest for large scale ontology reasoning is increasing. However, there is a problem leading to the speculative result to imply uncertainties. Hence, there is a need to consider the reliability problems of various data obtained from the web. Currently, large scale ontology reasoning methods based on the trust value is required because the inference-based reliability of quantitative ontology is insufficient. In this study, we proposed a large scale OWL Horst reasoning method based on a confidence value using spark, a distributed in-memory framework. It describes a method for integrating the confidence value of duplicated data. In addition, it explains a distributed parallel heuristic algorithm to solve the problem of degrading the performance of the inference. In order to evaluate the performance of reasoning methods based on the confidence value, the experiment was conducted using LUBM3000. The experiment results showed that our approach could perform reasoning twice faster than existing reasoning systems like WebPIE.

  • In this paper, we suggest a fish drug domain ontology to show an associated information and hierarchy together through concept-relation and inference mechanism instead of keyword matching. First, we investigate competency questions from workers of fishery industry and then we derive concepts and terminologies. Next, we present a process of fish drug ontology modelling using Protege-OWL editor, which is an extension of Protege that supports the Web Ontology Language(OWL). Last, we suggest the user interface of semantic web-based fish drug information system to search easily associated informations of fish drug using this ontology. It is to provide an effective search method that fish disease manager, fish farmer, and students majoring in fisheries can confirm details of diseases, fish, and drug evaluations associated with fish drug within one screen without moving to another position.

  • As the number of various types of media data such as UCC (User Created Contents) increases, research is actively being carried out in many different fields so as to provide meaningful media services. Amidst these studies, a semantic web-based media classification approach has been proposed; however, it encounters some limitations in video classification because of its underlying ontology derived from meta-information such as video tag and title. In this paper, we define recognized objects in a video and activity that is composed of video objects in a shot, and introduce a reasoning approach based on description logic. We define sequential rules for a sequence of shots in a video and describe how to classify it. For processing the large amount of increasing media data, we utilize Spark streaming, and a distributed in-memory big data processing framework, and describe how to classify media data in parallel. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed approach, we conducted an experiment using a large amount of media ontology extracted from Youtube videos.

  • This paper presents the Conceptual Models of the Mission Space-Korea (CMMS-K), which is an ontology-based conceptual modeling framework of the mission space. Through modeling and simulating military trainings, we can reduce the cost of actual military trainings in terms of time, space, and supplies. CMMS-K is being developed to improve the interoperability and reusability of defense models and simulations. CMMS-K reflects the needs and characteristics of Korean military while referring to existing military conceptual modeling frameworks. The main components of CMMS-K contain domain ontologies, a mission space model description language, a mission space modeling tool, and a CMMS-K management system. CMMS-K domain ontologies consist of entity and task ontologies. In this paper, the CMMS-K domain ontologies are described in detail and the feasibility of the proposed method is discussed with a case study.

  • In the architectural space, the user's behavior is the most important factor in evaluating the quality of architecture. Normally, the evaluation of user behavioral performance was carried out after a building was completed. Recently, interest in and efforts at pre-simulation based on information technology are accelerating. However, since existing user simulation technology is concerned mainly with simply escaping from a large space, it is impossible to simulate the behavior of multiple users in an architectural space. The present study strives to develop a human-figured intelligent agent for advanced user simulation based on ontology. The main purpose of the study is to employ the intelligent behaviors of a NPC(Non-player Character) to infer the ontology of both spatial and user information. In this paper, we intend to integrate ontology inference technology into the virtual space. And also, this study suggest the ontology visualization technology which illustrate the ontology-based information and their change in the spatial information.

  • War-game simulation models the situation of a battlefield and has been used for evaluating fighting power and analyzing the occupation of a troop. However, in war-game simulation environment, it is very complex to consider all factors which can be influenced in real battlefields. To solve the problem of the consideration, we propose an ontology-based path finding model. This model uses an ontology to conceptualize the situation data of a battlefield and represents the relations among the concepts. In addition, we extract new knowledge from the war-game ontology by defining some inference rules and share knowledge by the established rules. For the performance evaluation of the proposed model, we made a limitation on the simulation environment and measure the moving time of a troop, the fighting capability of a troop, and the necessary cost while a troop is moving. Experimental results show that this model provides many advantages in aspects of the moving time, a loss of fighting capability, and the necessary cost.

  • As the internet and computer technology are developed, there is a need for service of traditional culture that can effectively search and create culture, history, and tradition-related materials in online contents. In this paper, we developed an RDF-based ontology retrieval service platform and verified usability and validity. This platform is divided into triple search, keyword search, network graph search, story search and management, curation management module. Based on this, the search results can be visualized based on the relationship between data, network graph search and story search can be used to easily understand the relationship between the keywords. An platform evaluation was conducted for verification, and it was evaluated that an intelligent search that can easily identify the relationship between information and shorten the analysis and search time than the existing search function.
