  • This study is a case study on investigating students' learning behavior in the online English reading class of an on-off course. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on a total of 77 students from an English listening and reading course and phone interview with 5 students was implemented. The findings revealed that regularity of learning interval and learning sequence need to be improved through student management in order to increase the effect of online learning. In case of lecture watching, the students are good at utilizing the strengths of taped lecture, such as using pause and repeating watching. However, more research need to be done on how to develop online lecture to enhance students' understanding of the lecture. Regarding the offline review quiz that is supposed to stimulate students into their more positive watching of the lecture, it is suggested that a few of its related elements such as the online learning period and the number of quiz questions be corrected for its better effect.

  • This study is investigating the effectiveness of a blended learning for English listening and reading class by analyzing students' learning behavior. To this end, two surveys were conducted on a total of 75 students from the two different classes of Academic English Listening and Reading course. The research results showed that in the online class, the students built undesirable learning behavior such as solving listening quizzes by reading listening scripts or watching the instructor's lectures about the scripts and completing the assignment of summary of the scripts by referring to the Korean versions. In the offline class, the students' participation in group activities and attention to lectures was good. Therefore, it can be concluded that because of the students' poor online learning behavior, this blended learning was rather not effective. So the suggestions are discussed to enhance the effectiveness of the blended learning for English listening and reading.

  • The college English teaching-learning model in this study is intended to effectively apply dictogloss activities to enhance competencies such as communication, self-directedness, and cooperation by upgrading the utilization of various online platform functions. Dictogloss is a language teaching and learning activity that combines four functions (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) of communication. College English classes in this study focus on communication-oriented integrated English education. In this study, the teaching and learning is an online-based English integrated teaching-learning method based on constructivism theory. The model presented the roles of learners and teachers according to the seven procedures.

  • To overcome the drawbacks of existing classes, this study developed a liberal arts education class model based on online-collaborative learning under the cloud based class environment. That will be the comprehensive model for classics reading, discussion education and foreign language education. This study started from the need of developing the college classes for embodying the collective intelligence. This course must be effective to maximize the educational effects and mutually interdisciplinary progress. Therefore, the offer of the applicable model will be able to establish collective intelligence and extend the educational effects. This study presented the proposed comprehensive model effects as follows: 1) this comprehensive model could create the learning environment so that individual intelligence may be converged into collective intelligence. 2) regarding their intellectual inquiry and the contents of thought, this model could activate the learners' participation in the discussion by mutually exchanging the feedbacks between teacher-learner and learner-learner. 3) cloud based online-collaborative learning environment could reduce learners' affective burden and overcome the drawback of offering the offline limited data. Thus, given these results, this model can be expected to allow us to draw the positive results in overall education fields along with liberal arts education, discussion education and foreign language education.
