A study of Growth motif realization on Digital game (디지털 게임의 성장 모티프 구현 연구 -MMORPG를 중심으로-)

  • 본 연구는 기존 RPG에서 주요한 재미 요소로 기능하던 성장 모티프가 MMORPG(Massive Multi-user Online Role Palying Game)에서 어떤 식으로 변형되어 나타나는 지 살펴본다. 성장과 역할 수행을 통해 재미를 얻는 게임인 MMORPG는 성장 서사에서 많이 나타나는 구조인 여정형 혹은 탐색형의 구조를 보편적으로 차용하고 있다. 그러나 기존 서사물에서 성장 모티프가 정체성 찾기와 같은 내면적인 변화를 나타내기 위해 구조를 차용하는 반면, 게임에서는 위의 구조를 통해 얻은 성장의 결과물을 수치의 증가나 외적 형태의 변화를 통해 나타낸다. 즉, 경험치나 아이템을 통해 성장이 수치화되어 나타나는 것이다. 이는 여정형 탐색담이라는 성장 서사의 보편적 구조에서 게임적인 특수성이 더해진 것이라 할 수 있다. 성장 소설만의 서사적 유형이란 바로 주인공의 변화 양상이 미숙에서 성숙으로, 불완전에서 완전으로, 결핍에서 충족으로 변화하는 과정을 담고 있는 이야기적 특질을 의미한다. 그러한 미숙하고 불완전한 존재가 변화하게 되는 계기와 과정, 그리고 그 결과로 구조화된 유형적 특질을 갖고 있는 소설 양식이 성장소설이라 할 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 구조화된 유형적 특질은 신화나 민담에서는 탐색담이나 여행담으로 나타난다. 게임에서의 성장은 캐릭터의 성장과 직결된다. 본격적으로 플레이어와 동일시되어 성장을 대리 경험적으로 체험하는 것은 D&D 온라인을 거쳐, 현재 MMORPG의 형태를 구현해낸 울티마 온라인이 이후부터이다. 세부적으로 구현된 세계와 온라인을 통해 생성된 방대한 네트워크 안에서 플레이어는 자신과 동일화된 캐릭터를 플레이하면서 대리경험을 하게 된다. 즉, 플레이어가 캐릭터의 성장에 작용하는 여러 가지 변수를 선택하고, 조작해가면서 자신만의 캐릭터를 생성해 나가면서, MMORPG가 구현하는 게임 세계에 구성원이자 일원이 되는 것이다. MORPG는 기존의 RPG의 선형적인 성장에 비해 복합적인 양상을 보여준다. 문화에서의 성장 서사에서 일반적으로 발견되는 여정형의 탐색담은 개발자 서사인 배경 스토리에서 나타나며, 레벨시스템과 이에 따른 공간의 배치에 따라 플레이어에게 직접적인 영향'을 끼친다. 영속적인 세계와 플레이어 간의 상호작용을 통해 일어나는 사용자 서사는 완결된 형태의 캐릭터를 무의미하게 만든다. 플레이어는 비선형적인 성장을 끊임없이 계속하게 되는 것이다.

  • The aim of this paper is to design an intelligent character manipulation system suitable for the wireless broadband network environment named as Wibro and for the recent social networking service (SNS). The main feature of our proposed system is an automatic synthesis of a character utilizing the meta data which is attached to each component stored in a character database. It is the second advantageous feature that a user can make or modify his or her own character by modifying the component animation clip of its character. Once the character database is created, it can be represented and utilized in several ways by utilizing the meta data which is related to personal properties including emotion, life style, favorite things, and so on. The system can be evolved to a more powerful one by adopting the more user-related information and the more intelligent synthesis module.

  • With the rapid development of information and communication technologies(ICTs) and the explosive increasing of inter net users, we can find municipal information in Internet Homepage of local governments without visiting City Hall. And most part of municipal information are related with urban planning and geographic information. In this paper 1try to propose the index to evaluate the sites of urban planning information in the homepage of local governments which are classified 3 Groups. The first group is called information providing and composed with 4 categories and 20 items. The second Group is Communication between local government and citizens with 3 categories (12 items). And the third Group is Internet GIS with 2 categories (8 items). And 1 propose that we have to recognize the internet as the technological media to broaden the opportunities for the community people to participate in the policy-making in reference to their political demands.

  • This study aims to examine the trends in Metaverse technology following the Post-COVID era and analyze the use cases in the jewelry industry. With the endemic, the business environment for companies has shifted from online to offline, leading to a reduced public interest in the Metaverse. However, examining the global jewelry brand trends in metaverse technology reveals advancements in AR/VR technologies that enhance realism and evolve the metaverse into a space without the uncanny gap between virtual and reality. The Metaverse exhibits three main characteristics in the Post-COVID era. First, there is a transformation in the business domain, starting with digital twins. Second, it is integrating with various information and communication technologies. Third, setting a direction for Metaverse operation as an omni-channel is being emphasized. Utilizing assets learned during the COVID-19 period and continuing to learn about digital and online technologies is essential for securing market competitiveness. This paper discusses how to enhance the competitiveness of jewelry industry entities based on the trends of Metaverse technology in the Post-COVID era.

Spatial and Temporal Resolution Selection for Bit Stream Extraction in H.264 Scalable Video Coding (H.264 SVC에서 비트 스트림 추출을 위한 공간과 시간 해상도 선택 기법)

  • H.264 SVC(Scalable Video Coding) provides the advantages of low disk storage requirement and high scalability. However, a streaming server or a user terminal has to extract a bit stream from SVC file. This paper proposes a bit stream extraction method which can get the maximum PSNR value while date bit rate does not exceed the available network bandwidth. To do this, this paper obtains the information about extraction points which can get the maximum PSNR value offline and decides the spatial/temporal resolution of a bit stream at run-time. This resolution information along with available network bandwidth is used as the parameters to a bit stream extractor. Through experiment with JSVM reference software, we proved that proposed bit stream extraction method can get a higher PSNR value.

  • 전투복, 군용 천막 등에 사용되는 위장무늬는 군 작전 수행 시 주변 환경의 색상, 패턴을 모사하여 개인병사 및 무기체계의 위장 기능을 극대화하고, 이를 통해 아군의 생명과 시설피해를 최소화하기 위한 목적으로 사용된다. 특히 최근 들어 군의 작전환경과 임무가 복잡하고 다양해짐에 따라, 작전환경에 대한 데이터의 취득 및 정량적 분석을 통해 전장 환경에 최적화된 위장무늬 패턴 및 색상 추출에 대한 연구의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한반도 자연환경 영상에 대한 자기 조직화 지도(SOM, Self-organizing Map) 기반의 한반도 자연환경 대표 색상 군집화 연구 방법에 대해 서술한다. 이를 위해 한반도 내 위도를 고려한 장소에서 시간별, 계절별 자연환경 영상 수집을 진행하며, 수집된 영상 내 다수의 화소의 군집화를 위해 2차원 SOM을 활용한다. 영상 내 각 화소의 색상 값에 대한 SOM의 학습 시, RGB공간상의 색차/색상 인지 왜곡을 피하기 위하여 CIEDE2000 색차 식을 통해 군집화를 진행한다. 실험결과에서는 온라인상으로 수집한 여름 및 가을철 대표 색상 군집화 결과와, 현재까지 수집된 계절별 자연환경 사진 내 6억 7648개 화소에 대한 대표 색상 군집화 결과를 보여준다.

  • The objective of this study is to develop an on-line system for improving undergraduate students' competency development. After drawing elements necessary for the competency development such as assessment and planning, competency development, analysis of competency assessment, portfolio, analysis of job ability and community, based on the literature research related to competency and the analysis of the existing system, the direction of the system design was set up. The system was developed by using Microsoft Windows operating system in Windows server, ORACLE ver.10 as its database management system, and JSP and JAVA as its programing language. Reviewing errors and improvements of the system, it was modified and complemented. In order to examine the content functional utilization of the final competency development system, the utilization was verified. The competency development system for undergraduate students can be used as on-line space filled with the internalization of knowledge, self-directed competency development, convenience of record management and interactions between students-professors-alumna, owing to its functions such as boosting competency activities, cultivating career-pioneering ability and introspecting. When it is rare to find researches on the competency development system for undergraduate students, it is expected to be helpful to the development of competency education and the career education for undergraduate students as a new alternative for the competency development.

Getting Closer to Consumer Performance Experience: Research on Performance Experience Components through Online Post Analysis (소비자의 공연 경험에 다가가기 - 온라인 게시글 분석을 통한 공연 경험의 구성요소 탐구 -)

  • In studying culture consumption today, it is essential to understand and analyze the actual visitors' experiences in detail. This is deeply related to the fact that we can utilize subjective experience records that were previously inaccessible as data since plenty of people actually record many performance experiences in the media space such as social media. This study attempts to examine what elements actually consists of people's performance experience based on actual expression of the performance experience that exists online. For this, we collected two types of data. First, we collected posts which required performance recommendation on online platforms such as Jisik-In and Cafes to see how people describe what they want and analyzed data focusing on the modifiers. Results show that people mainly use modifiers that reflect the specific situation of the individual such as companion or age. In addition we analyzed how the experience was described after the show through the review posts of ticket booking site. Results show how expressions are centered around companions, revisit intentions, and viewing experiences besides elements such as story and music, which have been known as main satisfaction elements of performance experience in previous studies. In addition, we discussed the practical implications and limitations of the study as well as the theoretical discussion.

Exploring Differences in the Way of Dealing with Social Relationships in Metaverse and Reality according to Social Inclinations and Behavioral Aspect (사회적 성향과 행동 양상에 따른 현실과 메타버스 내 관계 맺기에 대한 태도 차이 탐구)

  • During the pandemic, social distancing continued for a long period of time, and as a result, this situation raised the possibility of the online space as a place for serious social relationships. In particular, metaverse platforms are adding to the reality of virtual space by expanding their functions so that users can provide various online events and have a variety of new experiences. This study attempted to examine the social relationship between reality and the metaverse according to social inclinations and behavior patterns. As a result of this study, the group with a high sense of inferiority in their usual relationship and the group with low satisfaction with their usual social interaction felt high discomfort at a similar level in both real and metaverse relationships. The group with the opposite inclination felt more uncomfortable in the metaverse relationship than in reality. In addition, whether the behavior patterns in the metaverse and in reality were different or same did not significantly affect the difference in attidudes between the metaverse and reality. In the case of group with different behavior patterns, however, if they were satisfied with how they look in the metaverse, their intimacy with social relationships was also high. This results implicate that we need to make an special effort for the development of social relationships in the metaverse era.

Spatial Distribution of the operators of Public Business-to-Business Electronic Marketplaces in Korea (공개형 기업간 전자마켓플레이스 운영기업의 공간적 분포 및 특성)

  • Electronic Commerce (EC) has been at the center of discussion as a symbol of the integration of unprecedentedly developed Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and traditional commerce. In spite of much attention to EC, the research from a spatial perspective has not proliferated yet. EC was regarded to have aspatial characteristics based on the expectation for a global expansion of business activities in a digital economy. This paper attempts to figure out the spatial characteristics of public Business-to-Business electronic marketplaces (public B2B e-MPs), as one of the most evolving forms of B2B EC, regardless of the low proportion in B2B EC at present. Many of the firms operating public B2B e-MPs in Korea were located in Seoul, especially in Gangnam-gu. The analysis of three spatial indices showed their extreme spatial concentration. The analysis on the location factors of Public B2B e-MP firms in Korea demonstrated that location factors of public B2B e-MP firms were differentiated by regional groups: Gangnam-gu, Seoul except Gangnam-gu, and the provinces. It was againt an initial extreme expectation that the firms relevant to B2B EC will not care about physical locations because they mainly do businesses in electronic space. The differences between those in Gangnam-gu and in the provinces were strikingly prominent. Such differentiated location factors by region were closely related to the different attributes of the public B2B e-MPs by region. In conclusion, public B2B e-MPs are not irrelevant to physical space and physical proximity, at least at a current stage. Customized spatial strategies are required for successful online businesses.
