Crystallographic and Magnetic Properties of Li0.5Fe2.5-χRhχO4 by Using Applied Field Mossbauer Spectrometer (외부자기장 뫼스바우어 분광기를 이용한 Li0.5Fe2.5-χRhχO4의 자기적 성질과 결정학적 구조에 관한 연구)

  • L i0.5F e2.5χR hχ O4 (χ = 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) has been prepared by solid state reaction. Crystallographic and magnetic properties were investigated by Mossbauer spectroscopy, SQUID magnetometry, and x-ray diffraction. The crystal structure is found to be a cubic spinel structure with space group Fd3m for all the samples. The lattice constant a0 increases from 8.3365 \AA to 8.3932 \AA with increasing Rh concentration χ. The migration of Li ion has been confirmed by x-ray patterns and the results of applied field Mossbauer analysis. The temperature dependence of the absorption area of each site was analyzed with the Debye model for the recoil-free fraction. The Debye temperature for the octahedral sites is almost as large as for the tetrahedral sites, thereby suggesting similar inter-atomic binding forces for the octahedral and the tetrahedral sites. The saturated magnetic moment and the Mossbauer spectra taken at 4.2 K under the applied field (6 T) show that the spin structure of L i0.5F e2.5χR hχ O4 is compatible with the collinear Neel Model.

Freshness Comparison of 'Mats-Kyeong-chae' in Accordance with Packaging Treatments and Storage Temperatures ('맛경채'의 포장방법과 저장온도에 따른 선도 비교)

  • 'Mats-kyeong-chae (Brassica lee ssp. namai cv. Tongssamchoo)', a new type of sweet Korean cabbage for fresh wrapping and soup cooking, was released by the Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries. The shelf-life and quality changes of this new cultivar was evaluated by packaging with PP (polypropylene) film bag and storing at three temperatures (5C, 15C, and 25C). As control, the cabbage was packaged in a corrugated paper box and stored at 25C. At the storage temperature of 5C, the degree of freshness, weight loss, hue angle and SPAD on cabbage packaged with PP film bag maintained its good quality and exhibited a longer period of marketable life compared to the samples stored in other treatments. Results showed that the use of PP film packaging and storing at 5C could be the optimum condition for commercial storage of 'Mats-kyeong-chae'. Further investigation on other quality parameters according to different packaging methods would be useful in maintaining the quality of 'Mats-kyeong-chae' at postharvest stages.

  • A technique for measuring surface temperature field in micro scale is newly proposed, which uses temperature-sensitive fluorescent (TSF) dye coated on the surface and is easily implemented with a fluorescence microscope and a CCD camera. The TSF dye is chosen among mixtures of various chemical compositions including rhodamine B as the fluorescent dye to be most sensitive to temperature change. In order to examine the effectiveness of this temperature measurement technique, numerical analysis and experiment on transient conduction heat transfer for two different substrate materials, i. e., silicon and glass, are performed. In the experiment, to accurately measure the temperature with high resolution temperature calibration curves were obtained with very fine spatial units. The experimental results agree qualitatively well with the numerical data in the silicon and glass substrate cases so that the present temperature measurement method proves to be quite reliable. In addition, it is noteworthy that the glass substrate is more appropriate to be used as thermally-insulating locally-heating heater in micro thermal devices. This fact is identified in the temperature measuring experiment on the locally-heating heaters made on the wafer of silicon and glass substrates. Accordingly, this technique is capable of accurate and non-intrusive high-resolution measurement of temperature field in microscale.

  • This paper deals with monitoring and analysis of temperature measurement data in concrete pylon of long span cable bridges. During the construction of Geoga Bridge in Busan-Geoje Fixed Link Project, temperature sensors were installed in several sections of hollow box type concrete pylon and temperatures along the depth of the four sides of the section have been recorded along with ambient temperature. Effects of temperature distribution on the pylon are analysed using actual measured data and results are compared with the design guideline. It was found that the temperature load model for concrete girder can be applied to box type concrete pylon. Structural analysis of the pylon due to variation of temperature distribution during the construction is performed using 3D modelling and FE program and the maximum displacements of east-west and north-south side were calculated as 0.056m and 0.121m, respectively.

  • Ti-Ni합금은 CsCl구조의 B2상, monoclinic 구조의 B19'(M)상과 rhombohedral 구조의 R상(R)이 나타난다고 알려져 있고, 이들 상의 변태에 의해 열탄성 마르텐사이트와 응력유기 마르텐사이트에 의한 형상기억효과와 초탄성 효과를 가지고 있다. 또한 Ti-Ni 합금은 우수한 형상기억특성을 가질 뿐만 아니라 생체적합성, 가공성 및 내식성 등이 뛰어나 공업분야 및 생체분야에서 폭 넓게 활용되고 있다. Ti-Ni합금의 형상기억특성은 냉간가공 후 어닐링 처리의 온도와 시간에 따른 matrix 내 Ni의 농도, 석출물의 밀도와 크기, 전위밀도와 전위주위의 응력장에 의해 영향을 받는다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ti-Ni합금의 형상기억 특성 및 변태온도에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 다양한 냉간가공률의 시료를 제작하여 다양한 온도에서 Annealing 처리를 하여 냉간가공률 및 Annealing 온도가 형상기억특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Ti-50.4 at.% Ni 합금은 진공 아크 용해로에서 용해 하였으며, 용해된 Ingot는 열간단조 및 열간 압출한 후 냉간 인발과 중간온도에서 어닐링을 반복하면서 직경 0.5mm의 선재로 만들었다. 최종적으로 제작한 선재의 냉간가공률은 9.5%, 18.2%, 34.5%, 45% 이었다. 각 시편은 5X10-5torr의 진공으로 석영관에 진공 봉입하여 각각 673K, 723K, 783K에서 1hr 열처리 하였다. 합금의 형상기억특성과 변태온도는 DSC에 의해 조사되었다. DSC 측정 결과, 냉간가공률이 증가함에 따라 마르텐사이트 변태 온도는 감소하였고, 어닐링 온도가 증가함에 따라 마르텐사이트 변태 온도는 증가하였다. 또한 가공률이 증가하여도 R상 변태온도는 큰 변화가 없었고, Annealing온도가 증가함에 따라 R상 변태온도는 감소하였다. 또한, 형상기억특성은 인장시험기를 이용한 정하중 열싸이클 테스트를 이용하여 평가 하였다. 냉간 가공률이 증가함에 따라 안정한 형상기억특성을 나타내었다.

In0.64Al0.36Sb층의 성장온도 및 도핑에 따른 광학적 특성

  • 테라헤르츠 소스로 저온 InGaAs를 대체하기 위해 저온에서 성장한 In0.64Al0.36Sb의 성장 온도에 따른 광학적 photoluminescence (PL)과 time-resolved PL (TRPL) 측정을 이용하여 분석하였다. 또한 Be 도핑 농도에 따른 p형 In0.64Al0.36Sb의 PL과 TRPL 특성을 undoped In0.64Al0.36Sb와 Si-doped In0.64Al0.36Sb 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에 사용한 시료는 분자선 엑피탁시 (molecular beam epitaxy)법으로 GaAs 기판 위에 In0.64Al0.36Sb을 다양한 성장온도에서 3.7μm두께 성장하였다. In0.64Al0.36Sb의 성장온도는 400C 에서 460C까지 변화시키며 성장하였으며, Si과 Be 도핑한 In0.64Al0.36Sb 시료는 약 420C에서 성장하였다. 모든 시료의 PL 피크는 ~1450 nm 근처에서 나타나며 단파장 영역에 shoulder 피크가 나타났다. 그러나 가장 낮은 온도 400C에서 성장한 시료는 1400 nm에서 1600 nm에 걸쳐 매우 넓은 피크가 측정되었다. PL 세기는 450C 에서 성장한 시료가 가장 강하게 나타났으며, 435C에서 성장한 시료의 PL 세기가 가장 약하게 나타났다. 방출파장에 따른 PL 소멸곡선을 측정하였으며 double exponential function을 이용하여 운반자 수명시간을 계산하였다. 운반자 수명시간은 빠른 소멸성분 τ1과 느린 소멸성분 τ2가 존재하고 빠른 성분 τ1의 PL 진폭이 약 80%로 느린 성분 τ2보다 우세하게 나타났다. 각 PL 피크에서의 운반자 수명시간 τ1은 ~1 ns로 성장온도에 따른 변화는 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 방출파장이 1400 nm에서 1480 nm까지 PL 피크 근처에서 운반자 수명시간은 거의 일정하게 나타났다. Be-doped 시료의 PL 피크는 1236 nm에서 나타나며, Si-doped 시료는 1288 nm, undoped 시료는 1430 nm에서 PL 피크가 측정되었다. PL 피크에서 PL 소멸곡선은 Be-doped 시료가 가장 빨리 감소하였으며, Si-doped 시료가 가장 길게 나타났다. 이러한 결과로부터 In0.64Al0.36Sb의 광학적 특성은 성장 온도, dopant type, 도핑 농도에 따라 변화하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • This experimental study has been conducted to investigate the effect of the recirculation zone on the multi-slot film cooling in the ramjet combustor. The recirculation zone which is generated by the protrusion tip on the entrance of the coolant flow path affects on the first slot. Velocity fields, dimensionless temperature fields and adiabatic film cooling effectiveness on the downstream wall of the slot exit are measured. The results show that the film cooling performance is rapidly decreased after the slot exit by shear layer and high turbulence intensity between separated flows and coolant flows.

  • The rheological properties of concentrated Kochujang (Korean red pepper paste)-water suspensions were investigated. The rheological behavior of Kochujang-water suspension was illustrated by Herschel-Bulkley equation. All Kochujang-water suspensions with 12.5-100% of water addition showed pseudoplasticity in yield stress at the shear rate range of 0.25179.20sec1., but at the shear rate above 5.16sec1, more shear thinning behavior was observed with increasing shear rate. Also, pseudoplasticity of the suspension became weak by increasing water addition and decreasing temperature, The temperature dependence of consistency index on Kochujang-suspension was very low and the values of consistency index was lowered by increasing solid contents, but as heating, the values of that was increased. It was suggested that the main components responsible for rheological behavior of the suspensions at high temperature might be undigested starch or protein in Kochujang. Also, the changes of rheological behavior with vinegar addtion was only due to dilution effect.
