A Study on Fabrics in Kaya Period - Focused on the Fabrics of the Okjeon Old Tomb - (가야의 직물에 관한연구 - 옥천고문군 출토유물을 중심으로 -)

  • The fabrics attached to the remains of the Okjeon old tomb in the Kaya period were examined. Most of fabrics examined were composed of hemp and silk. Considering that silk was found in the old tomb of the Kaya period in the late 5th century and that various kinds of silk were used in the other area silk was assumed to be used before 5th century in the Kaya period. Only the structure of the densely plain weaved fabrics were analysed as silk and the other physical properties of the fabrics could not be the examined fabrics were plain weaved and altered structure with twill and plain weaving were found indicating that diverse weaving structures were used in the Kaya period. This indicate a certain level of cultural exchange between Kaya and Silla PaikJae, Kokuryo and weaving technique were almost similar in the Korean peninsula in the 5th century.

The Effect of Chonhwasan and Okchunsan in Streptozotocin induced Hyperglycemic Rats (천화산(天花散)과 옥천산(玉泉散)이 고혈당(高血糖) 백서(白鼠)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This present study was carried out to investigate the effect of Chonhwasan and Okchunsan in streptozotocin induced hyperglycemic rats. Body weight, serum levels of glucose, insulin, total cholesterol triglyceride and urine levels of volume, glucose, protein were measured in streptozotocin induced hyperglycemic rats orally receiving extracts of Chonhwasan and Okchunsan plus Radix Trichosandis for 4 days. According to the result, Chonhwasan and Okchunsan have the effect of decreased body weight delate and decreased blood sugar, serum lipid metabolism and urine volume, glucose, protein in streptozotocine induced hyperglycemic rats, and they were expected to be applied to the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus.

한국고속철도 개통에 즈음하여

  • 2004년 4월 1일. 단군이래 최대의 국책사업인 한국고속철도 KTX(Korea Train eXpress)가 지난 12년의 산고 끝에 경부ㆍ호남 동시 개통되어 최고속도 300km/h로 영업을 하게 되는 날이다. 1989년 5월 서울∼부산간 경부고속복선전철을 1998년에 완공하는 것으로 계획을 수립하고 철도청에 고속전철 기획실을 설치한 이래 1992년 3월 건설전담 조직인 한국고속철도건설공단이 별도로 설립되어 1992년 6월 대전∼천안간 시험선 건설의 첫 삽을 뜬지 12년의 세월이 지나 총 사업비 18조4,358억원 중 1단계 12조7,377억원이 투입되었고 221.1km의 고속신선이 시흥∼대전 조차장, 옥천∼신동구간에 건설되었다. 또한 고양기지∼시흥, 대전 및 대구 연결선, 대구∼부산간 기존선이 전철화되었고, 1999년 12월 확정한 호남선 복선 전철화계획에 의해 서대전∼목포 구간이 총사업비 8,994억원이 투입되어 전철화 됨으로써 동서화합차원에서 2004년 4월 1일 서울∼부산, 서울∼목포간 동시 개통되게 되는 것이다. A study on the structure of Ogcheon Group in Goesan Area (괴산부근(槐山附近)에 분포(分布)하는 옥천층군(沃川層群)의 지질구조(地質構造)에 관(關)하여)

  • This study is focused on the geological structure of Igog-Jangam folded zone in the vicinity of Goesan town where Ogcheon group distributes. The geology is composed of Gyemyungsan formation, Daehyangsan quartzite, Munjuri formation and Hwanggangri formation of Ogcheon group unknown age in descending order, and porphyritic biotite granite and dyke rocks that intruded into the Ogcheon group. The study revealed that Igog-Jangam folded zone is a plunged synclinal fold based on the following evidences; 1) Some pebbles in Hwanggangri formation at Minaemi-gol (a name of village) consists of phyllite of Munjuri formation. 2) The pebble bearing phyllitic bed in this area, Hwanggangri formation was recognized as the uppermost member in Ogcheon group instead of the basal one of the group. 3) A crest of anticlinal fold has been appeared near the Goegang bridge as a structural counter-part of that of the present area. 4) The study of lineation of minor fold in Munjuri formation also suggests that Igog-Jangam folded zone manifests to be a synclinal structure.

  • Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic results are reported for the Ogcheon amphibolites from the central part of the Ogcheon Belt. Rb-Sr and Pb-Pb whole rock isotope data plot greatly scattered in the isochron diagrams due to later alteration or metamorphism, whereas the Sm-Nd whole rock isotope data define a linear array with an age of $1270{\pm}220$ Ma ($1{\sigma}$). Considering several geochemical features of the amphibolites, the 1270 Ma linear array may be not a true but an apparent mixing isochron due to source heterogeneity.

  • Some components in uranium-bearing formations which consist mainly of black shale, slate. and low grade coal-bearing formation of Ogcheon Belt were processed statistically in order to find out the geochemical correlations with uranium. Geochemical enrichment of uranium, vanadium and molybdenum in low grade coal-bearing formations and surrounding rocks is remarkable in the studied area. Geochemical correlation coefficient of uranium and molybdenum in the rocks displays about 0.6, and that of uranium and fixed carbon about 0.4. Uranium and vanadium in uranium-bearing low grade coals denote very high correlation with fixed carbon, which is considered to be responsible for enrichment of metallic elements, especially molybdenum. Close geochemical correlation of uranium-molybdenum couple in the rocks can be applied as a competent exploration guide to low grade uranium deposits of this area.

  • Clay mineral geothermometry using sericites and chlorites in Bobae sericite mine reveals that these clay minerals formed at relatively high temperature. It appears that sericites formed at around $200{\sim}350^{\circ}C$ and chlorites formed at around $250^{\circ}C$. X-ray diffraction study of these minerals reveals that sericite $2M_1$ type and chlorite IIb type are dominant phases. Both polytypes indicate that the precipitation temperatures of these minerals shows fairly good agreement with the estimated temperature by clay mineral geothermometry. The Bobae sericite mine was formed at relatively higher temperature than several non-metal ore deposits occurred in the southern part of Korea.

  • Busan migmatitic gneisses in the northeastern margin of the Ogcheon zone have been studied petrologically in order to clarify their origin. Petrochemical and mineralogical studies show that the gneisses are Precambrian basemental paragneisses and the rocks were migmatized more intensively than the Bagdalryeong gneisses which have been known to constitute the basemental gneisses of Ogcheon zone. K-Ar biotite isotopic ages are $150.79{\pm}3.37Ma$ in Busan migmatitic gneiss and $191{\pm}4.27Ma$ in Bagdalryeong gneisses. These ages seem to be isotopic homogenised ages. Progressive regional metamorphisms are predominent in the studied area showing greenschist facies, epidote amphibolite facies and amphibolite facies toward N-W direction.

  • 절리, 단층, 습곡, 암맥, 파쇄대 및 암상의 경계에 의해 나타나는 지질학적 선구조는 지하의 물성이나 지질구조를 반영한다. 따라서 지구조 운동 분석을 위한 기초 자료로 이용가능하기 때문에 그동안 전문가의 육안 판독이외에 영상에서 선구조를 추출하기 위한 많은 연구가 이루어져왔다. 최근에 이용 가능한 위성영상자료가 증가하고 영상을 지구과학 응용분야에 적용하는 사례가 많아짐에 따라 영상으로부터 선구조를 빠르고 정확하게 추출해야 할 필요성이 높아졌다. 본 연구에서는 위성영상으로부터 선구조를 자동으로 추출하기 위해 구배 방향 프로파일 분석(Gradient Direction Profile Analysis. GDPA) 알고리즘과 Hough 변환 알고리즘을 이용한 프로그램을 개발하였고, 각 알고리즘에 필요한 모든 변수들을 사용자가 직접 입력할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 이 프로그램을 옥천 습곡대의 북동부에 위치한 강원도 정선지역의 Landsat TM 에 적용하여 가능성을 검토에 보았고, 오차 검증 방법을 이용하여 각 알고리즘을 정량적으로 평가하였다.
