The purpose of this study is to investigate the major features of Next Generation Library Catalogs. 'Next Generation Melvyl Pilot' of University of California Library System and 'SearchWorks' of Stanford University Library are examined. While the former is developed, based on OCLC WorldCat Local, the latter is based on the Blacklight, an Open Source Catalog Software. Both commonly provide the features, including enriched contents, facet navigation, keyword searching, relevancy ranking of search results, and user contribution, etc., but some functions vary in scopes and contents. Also, it seems that both are in process of development rather than complete implementations.

Recently, there are many home network applications using the convergence between mobile platforms and home network system. As smart phones which are called small PC in the hand becoming popular, the development of home network application beyond the one of cellular phones is required. Android mobile platform of Google includes OS, middleware and primary applications. Also, in addition to smart phones, it can be mounted on various devices such as set-top box and household appliances. In this paper, home network services on smart phones of Android platform are designed and implemented. The services provide real-time monitoring information (temperature, humidity, real-time video) of rooms and appliance control in a house.

Purpose In this study, we propose the special purposed R package named ""new_Noun()" to process nonstandard texts appeared in various social networks. As the Big data is getting interested, R - analysis tool and open source software is also getting more attention in many fields. Design/methodology/approach With more than 9,000 R packages, R provides a user-friendly functions of a variety of data mining, social network analysis and simulation functions such as statistical analysis, classification, prediction, clustering and association analysis. Especially, "KoNLP" - natural language processing package for Korean language - has reduced the time and effort of many researchers. However, as the social data increases, the informal expressions of Hangeul (Korean character) such as emoticons, informal terms and symbols make the difficulties increase in natural language processing. Findings In this study, to solve the these difficulties, special algorithms that upgrade existing open source natural language processing package have been researched. By utilizing the "KoNLP" package and analyzing the main functions in noun extracting command, we developed a new integrated noun processing package "new_Noun()" function to extract nouns which improves more than 29.1% compared with existing package.

여러 임베디드 시스템 운영체제 중에서 임베디드 리눅스는 다양한 오픈 소스 S/W를 사용할 수 있고, 다양한 임베디드 시스템에 이식할 수 있다는 장점 때문에 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만, 임베디드 리눅스는 리눅스의 기본 접근제어 메커니즘인 임의적 접근제어(Discretionary Access Control, DAC) 기법을 그대로 사용하고 있어서 사용자의 Identity가 도용 당하거나 Trojan Horse와 같은 프로그램이 설치될 경우, 접근제어가 효력을 상실하게 된다는 결점을 가지고 있다. 더욱 문제가 되는 것은 DAC의 특성상, 프로세스가 필요 이상의 과도한 특권을 가지고 실행되며, 그 결과 잘못된 프로세스가 그 자신과 관계 없는 프로그램이나 운영체제의 커널마저 손상시키는 결과를 낳을 수 있다는 것이다. 이에 따라 보다 강건한 접근제어 메커니즘에 대한 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 리눅스 운영체제의 접근제어 메커니즘이 가지고 있는 보안적 결점에 대해서 알아보고, 이 결점을 보완하기 위해 타입 강제(Type Enforcement, TE) 기법을 사용함으로써, 임베디드 시스템에 적합하면서 강력한 접근제어를 제공할 수 있는 안전한 임베디드 리눅스 시스템에 대한 설계 모델을 보여주고자 한다.

재난방재시스템은 재난에 대하여 예방, 대비, 대응, 복구 단계별 활동을 지원하기 위한 정보시스템이다. 재난방재시스템은 여러 형태의 재난에 대하여 여러 수준의 다양한 정보자원을 이용해야 하고 여러 임무를 맡고 있는 다양한 인적자원과 다양한 물적 자원을 활용하여 준비하고 빠르게 대응해야 한다. 기존의 재난방재시스템은 통합적인 상황분석이 부족하고, 지역재난상황에 따라 표준행동에 의한 자동적 실시간 임무부여와 실시간 보고의 처리, 재난관리자의 경험적 지식을 활용될 수 있는 정보시스템화는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 주로 국방, 경찰, 보안 분야에 적용되어온 정보융합(Information fusion)기술과 비즈니스 룰(BRMS)의 규칙기반 지능형 기술을 활용하여 여러 수준의 다양한 정보를 종합 분석하여 통합적인 상황정보를 제공하고, 표준행동 요령과 지역 재난관리자의 지식을 활용하여 인적자원과 물적 자원에 대한 대응계획을 제시하여 대응조치를 선택할 수 있도록 하며, 현장 상황에 따른 실시간 임무 부여와 상황 보고를 처리할 수 있는 정보융합기반 지능형 재난방재 프레임워크를 제안한다. 본 연구의 프레임워크는 지역단위 재난방재에 적용을 고려하고 있으며 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 같이 활용하는 프로토타입 구현을 계획하고 있다.

A virtual machine lease service in the cloud computing environment has been implemented using the open source cloud computing platform, OpenNebula. In addition, a web-based cloud user interface is developed for both convenient resource management and efficient service access. The present virtual machine allocation scheme adopted in OpenNebula has performance reduction problem because of not considering CPU allocation scheduler of the virtualization software. In order to address this problem we have considered both the priority of the idle CPU resources of the cluster and credit scheduler of Xen, which resulted in performance improvement of the OpenNebula virtual machine scheduler. The experimental results showed that the proposed allocation scheme provided more virtual machine creations and more CPU resource allocations for cloud service.

IT 정보 기술 발달로 관련 하드웨어와 스프트웨어의 보급이 일반화 되며, 그에 따라 신체적 장애를 겪고 있는 사람들에게 IT기술을 이용하여 신체적 결함을 극복할 수 있는 정보통신 응용제품은 필수적이다. 특히, 고령화 사회로 접어들면서 신체적 기능저하들 중에서 시각 기능 저하도 대표적인 부분이다. 이러한 시각장애를 겪고 있는 사람들을 위한 정보전달 수단으로 점자책등이 존재한다. 그러나 일반 서적에 비하면 이용 및 활용을 위한 제반 기술이 상당히 부족한 현실이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 시각 장애를 겪는 사람 및 장애자들에게 일반 책을 읽을 수 있도록 오픈 소스 기반에 소형 스캐너를 부착한 웨어러블(wearable) PC를 직접 제작하여 개발 완료시점에 있는 시스템 내용에 관한 분석 및 설계에 관한 내용이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서 일반 스캐너 내부 구성을 살펴보면, 책 혹은 정자로 주어진 문서를 실시간으로 스캔닝을 통해서 글자를 추출하고, 추출된 글자를 음성으로 들려주는 휴대용 통합시스템(T25:text-to-speech)의 개발 진행된 연구에 관하여 살펴본다.

As the growing popularity of smartphones, mobile web browsing has become one of the most important and popular applications in mobile devices. Furthermore, it is clear that the demand for PC-like full browser performance on mobile devices is increasing greatly. WebKit is an open source web browser engine adopted by Google Android. This paper proposed a technique of increasing the performance of WebKit by paralleling its libraries. This method was applied to JPEG library and the performance evaluation was conducted in PC environment. The results was used to estimate the performance prediction on multi-core mobile embedded architecture and to show the feasibility of the proposed method to estimate the performance gain on heterogeneous multi-core embedded architecture.

인체 무선망이란 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)을 통해 환자의 생체 정보를 실시간으로 수집하는 환경이다. 이를 기반으로 원격지에서 생체 정보를 전달 받는 시스템이 u-RPMS(USN Remote Patient Monitoring System)이다. u-RPMS에서 실시간으로 환자의 정보들이 발생하는데 이때 실시간으로 발생한 정보들은 공유가 불가피하다. 환자의 생체 정보는 생명과 연결되기 때문에 공유할 때 안전이 중요하다. 하지만 u-RPMS에서는 무선 통신으로 동작하기 때문에 보안에 취약하며, 이를 보안하기 위해서 서버와 DB(Data Base) 사이에 인증 서버를 통해서 해결 할 것을 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 인체 무선망을 기반으로 해서 모듈화 된 오픈 소스 원격진료 플랫폼인 OpenEMed의 개인 확인 서비스(PIDS, Personal Identification Service)를 이용해 네트워크를 기반으로 한 Kerberos 인증을 제안한다.

Laboratory Information Management System(LIMS) is a centralized database for storing, processing, retrieving, and analyzing laboratory data, and refers to a computer system or system specially designed for laboratories performing inspection, analysis, and testing tasks. In particular, LIMS is equipped with a function to support the operation of the laboratory, and it requires workflow management or data tracking support. In this paper, we collect data on websites and various channels using crawling technology, one of the automated big data collection technologies for the operation of the laboratory. Among the collected test methods and contents, useful test methods and contents useful that the tester can utilize are recommended. In addition, we implement a complementary LIMS platform capable of verifying the collection channel by managing the feedback.
