Determination of Optimum Reaction Conditions for Pyrolytic Coprocessing of Waste Plastics with Waste Motor oil by Statistical Experimental Design (통계적 실험계획에 의한 폐플라스틱/폐유의 최적 열분해 반응조건 결정)

  • 범용 열가소성 플라스틱(polyethylene(PE), polypropylene(PP), polystyrene(PS), polyethylene-terephthalate(PET), acrylonitrile-butandiene-styrene(ABS))과 폐윤활유의 동시처리 열분해반응 실험을 수행하였다. 반응실험은 40$m\ell$ 용량의 회분식 미분반응기(microreactor)를 이용한 실험과 1리터 용량의 autoclave를 이용한 실험의 두 가지로 구분하여 행하였다. 전자의 경우는 통계적 실험적계획법(statistical experimental design)의 하나인 회전계획실험(rotatable design experiments)으로서 오각형 실험계획(pentagonal experimental design)에 의거한 반응변수 실험을 수행한 후 반응표면(response surface)을 회기분석법에 의하여 분석함으로써 최대의 오일 수율을 얻을 수 있는 최적 반응조건을 추적, 결정하였다. Autoclave 반응실험의 기본적인 목적은 실제 연속공정에 있어서 열분해 반응기 거동을 모사하기 위한 전초단계로서 충분한 시료의 확보를 통하여 이 때 생성된 연로유의 체계적인 분석(비등점분포특성, 진공증류, 기체분석, 원소분석, 발열량, 비중 등)을 행함으로써 연료유 수율 및 품질을 모사하고자 하였다. 미분반응기 실험에 있어서 주 범용열가소성수지인 PE, PP 그리고 PS는 각각의 최적반응조건하에서 거의 100%에 가깝게 오일로 전환되었지만 응축수지인 PET와 그래프트공중합수지인 ABS의 오일수율은 각기 78% 및 90%로서 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. Autoclave를 이용한 실험의 경우 혼합플라스틱을 폐유에 대하여 40wt% 혼합하여 열분해하였을 때, 80wt% 오일, 15wt% 코우크, 그리고 나머지 5wt%는 탄화수소기체(C1-C6)로 전환되었다. 진공증류(252$^{\circ}C$,2 torr) 결과, 기/액-분리도는 3으로서 이는 생성오일의 75wt%가 경질연료유(가솔린, 등유, 경유)로 회수 가능하였다.

  • 제 2형 당뇨병 환자의 아연 영양상태를 파악하고 당뇨병성 합병증 보유상태와의 상관관계를 분석하기 위하여, 대구지역 33-69세의 제 2형 당뇨병환자 80명과 정상인 77명을 대상으로 영양소 섭취상태 및 신체계측, 생화학적 분석을 하였다. 당뇨병군의 평균 연령은 57.3세이었으며, 유병기간은 평균 8.7$\pm$6.4년이었다. 유병기간은 합병증 보유상태별로 유의적인 차이(p<0.01)를 나타내었다. 합병증 보유수가 1가지인 경우 평균 유병기간이 가장 길었고(16년), 다음으로 4가지 합병된 경우(약 11년), 2가지 합병된 경우(약 10년)의 순서였다.   • Emulsified oily wastewater is generally hard to treat in separating oil and water by conventional separators. In this paper the magnetohydrodynamic water treatment device was used to separate oil from emulsified oily wastewater which contained high conductivity. The emulsified oil removal rates and economic ranges of oil separation at various factors were investigated to confirm the influence of the magnetic field in MHD water treatment device according to the characteristics of emulsion brake. Experimental results proved that the oil removal rates were proportional to Lorentz force which depends on the intensity of magnetic field, conductivity and velocity of wastewater.

An Experimental Study on Development of the Opening Apparatus for Oil Boom (오일펜스 전개장치 개발에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The study was to review methods by which a ship can unfold and tow an oil boom by attaching the opening apparatus to an oil boom through experiments. The shape and dimension of the opening apparatus were designed with the measurement value of the towing tension load of the oil boom and the dimension of winch drum of the oil boom installed in the ship considered. For the field experiment to identify the performance of the opening apparatus, opening apparatuses were prepared to have the dimension of $3.0m^2$ and $6.0m^2$ which is 91% and 75% of the calculation value for type B and C respectively. As a result, T(kg), the value of tension in type B oil boom according to the towing speed(v) change when two ships are towed together were proved to be $T=920v^{1.1}\;and\;T=500v^{0.9}$ in case the distance is 100 m and 50 m. Based on the result, the dimension of the opening apparatus for type B and C oil boom was calculated as $3.3m^2$ and $8.0m^2$ respectively. When unfolding and towing by attaching the opening apparatus and 200 m of towing line at both ends of type B and type C oil boom, the maximum width of the opening apparatus was shown as 114 m and 95 m in average(width of opening/total length of oil boom: 33% and 57%) in the towing speed of 1.5 kt. It was evaluated that the opening apparatus could concentrate the spilled oil in a good performance. However as far as the increase rate of oil boom opening width according to the length of the towing line is debatable, the increase rate is remarkably reduced when it is lengthened from 100 m to 150 m and to 200 m although it showed extreme increase of 31% and 40% when the length of the towing line was changed from 50 m to 100 m. Therefore, it is inferred that the towing line should be maintained more or less 100 m to get good spread efficiency of the opening apparatus. Additionally, if the towing speed is faster than 1.5 kt, the opening width was narrowed because of the reduced spread efficiency and the shape of the oil boom can be unstable because of the partial sinking of the oil boom, run over waves, or flap of skirt. Thus the reasonable towing speed can be within 1.5 kt for the operation of the opening apparatus.

자성나노입자 이동과 변압기 절연유의 절연특성 변화의 상관관계 고찰

  • 자성나노유체(ferrofluid)는 계면활성제로 코팅된 직경 10 nm인 자성나노입자(magnetic nanoparticle)가 바탕액체(물 또는 오일 등)에 분산하고 있는 액체이다. 최근 연구에 의하면 자성나노 유체가 변압기 절연유로 사용될 경우 열전달 및 절연 특성이 향상된다고 보고되고 있다. 또한 자성나노유체에 포함된 자성나노입자는 영구자석 및 전자석 등에 의한 외부 자기장뿐만 아니라, 두 전극 사이에 인가된 전기장에 의한 유도자기장에 영향을 받는다고 한다. 본 연구에서는 두 전극 사이 전압을 1 kV로 인가한 경우에서 광학현미경을 이용한 자성나노입자의 마이크로 채널(microchannel) 내부 이동특성 관측 및 Maxwell 방정식을 이용한 전자기장 수치해석을 수행하였다. 실험 및 해석 결과를 통하여 자성나노유체에 포함된 자성나노입자가 인가된 전기장에 의하여 발생되는 이동특성을 분석하고, 선행연구에서 보고된 절연특성 변화에 관한 상관관계에 대해 고찰하였다. 광학현미경 관측 결과로부터 전기장이 인가되지 않은 경우에 균일하게 분산되어 있는 자성나노입자는 전기장 인가에 따라 발생되는 유도자기장에 의하여 입자 간의 뭉침(agglomeration) 현상과 전극 주위로 이동하려는 성질을 확인하였다. 또한 수치해석 결과로부터 자성나노입자의 존재로 인하여 전극 사이의 전기장 강도와 자속밀도가 증가함을 확인하였으며, 자성나노입자의 이동을 유발하는 유도자기장이 전극 주위에서 큰 것을 파악할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 자성나노입자가 변압기 절연유에 첨가된 경우우 절연파괴전압이 변화되는 이유를 설명할 수 있는 근거가 된다.

  • This paper reviews studies on the types and functions of oil sensors used for machine condition monitoring. Machine condition monitoring is essential for maintaining the reliability of machines and can help avoid catastrophic failures while ensuring the safety and longevity of operation. Machine condition monitoring involves several components, such as compliance monitoring, structural monitoring, thermography, non-destructive testing, and noise and vibration monitoring. Real-time monitoring with oil analysis is also utilized in various industries, such as manufacturing, aerospace, and power plants. The three main methods of oil analysis are off-line, in-line, and on-line techniques. The on-line method is the most popular among these three because it reduces human error during oil sampling, prevents incipient machine failure, reduces the total maintenance cost, and does not need complicated setup or skilled analysts. This method has two advantages over the other two monitoring methods. First, fault conditions can be noticed at the early stages via detection of wear particles using wear particle sensors; therefore, it provides early warning in the failure process. Second, it is convenient and effective for diagnosing data regardless of the measurement time. Real-time condition monitoring with oil analysis uses various oil sensors to diagnose the machine and oil statuses; further, integrated oil sensors can be used to measure several properties simultaneously.

Shape Similarity Analysis for Verification of Hazard Map for Storm Surge : Shape Criterion (폭풍해일 침수예상도 검증을 위한 형상유사도 분석 : 형상기준)

  • The concept of shape similarity has been applied to verify the accuracy of the SIND model, the real-time prediction model for disaster risk. However, the CRITIC method, one of the most widely used in geometric methodology, is definitely limited to apply to complex shape such as hazard map for coastal disaster. Therefore, we suggested the modified CRITIC method of which we added the shape factors such as RCCI and TF to consider complicated shapes. The matching pairs were manually divided into exact-matching pairs and mis-matching pairs to evaluate the applicability of the new method for shape similarity into hazard maps for storm surges. And the shape similarity of each matching pair was calculated by changing the weights of each shape factor and criteria. Newly proposed methodology and the calculated weights were applied to the objects of the existent hazard map and the results from SIND model. About 90% of exact-matching pairs had the shape similarity of 0.5 or higher, and about 70% of mis-matching pairs were it below 0.5. As future works, if we would calibrate narrowly and adjust carefully multi-objects corresponding to one object, it would be expected that the shape similarity of the exact-matching pairs will increase overall while it of the mis-matching pairs will decrease.
