  • In this study, the amalgamative relationship associated with oral health belief and preventive behavior against oral disease subject to middle aged people was analyzed. 20 persons in their middle age living in U city were selected as final subjects for this analysis. It was found that a factor with the strongest effect on intention to prevent oral disease and preventive behavior among oral health belief was importance. In the study, it was identified that the parameters such as importance and benefit had a partial mediating effect on the intention to prevent oral disease and self-efficacy had complete mediating effect. Through these results, it seems necessary to develop an intervention program for middle aged people able to recognize importance and benefits of oral health by themselves in order to promote their oral health.

  • As the particulate matter (PM) is fatal for human being, the government authorities try to lessen PM with a variety of policy instruments. To increase the efficiency of the policy, we need to understand people's perception and risk avoidance on PM. Thus, the research explored what attribution styles, involvement, and perceived health status have an influence on preventive intention. First, we found three attribution styles on PM occurrence through factor analysis: daily life(DL), domestic industry & environment(DI&E), and Chinese industry & environment(CI&E). We also found that involvement(${\beta}=.465$, p<.001), CI&E(${\beta}=.222$, p<.001), DL(${\beta}=.173$, p<.01), and DI&E(${\beta}=.143$, p<.05) have an influence on preventive intention in order. Finally we discussed suggestions for future study.

  • The unprecedented pandemic caused by the COVID-19 has led to a massive global public health campaign to slow the spread of the virus. Thus, this study examines the importance of individual's prevention behavior intention by adapting health belief model(HBM). In addition, we added social variables to understand the prevention behavior better considering the situation in which collective behaviors are important. The online survey results(N=298) showed that higher level of perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, perceived peril, perceived social norms and lower level of perceived responsibility led to higher prevention behavior intention. Peril was the most influential factor among all the variables. In addition, perceived severity and social norms followed after that. Additional analysis also implied that socio-HBM model we proposed better explained the prevention behavior intention than traditional HBM.

  • Increasing concerns regarding personal data privacy have complicated the acquisition of customer data through online marketing. This study investigates factors influencing customers' willingness to disclose information via a generative AI-based chatbot. Drawing on privacy calculus theory and regulatory focus theory, we explore how customer regulatory focus and familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot shape disclosure intentions. Our study, involving 473 participants, reveals that low familiarity with the chatbot leads individuals with a prevention focus to perceive higher privacy risks and lower perceived usefulness compared to those with a promotion focus. However, with high familiarity, these differences diminish. Moreover, individuals with a promotion focus show a greater inclination to disclose information when familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot is low, whereas this regulatory focus does not significantly impact disclosure intentions when familiarity is high. Perceived privacy risks mediate these relationships, underscoring the importance of understanding familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot in facilitating personal information disclosure.

  • The object of this study was to analyze factors influencing adult dementia knowledge, fear of dementia, and intention of dementia prevention behavior on the demand for dementia prevention education. The subjects of the study were 265 adults aged 19 to 64 living in Chungnam and Chungbuk, who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate in the study. The collected research data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, adult dementia knowledge (p=.055) and dementia fear (p=.302) were found that they did not significantly affect the demand for dementia prevention education, and the intention of dementia prevention behavior (β=.329, p<.001) was found to have a significant effect on the demand for dementia prevention education. Based on these research results, understanding of dementia and dementia management projects, early screening for dementia and health guidelines for dementia prevention, chronic disease management for dementia prevention, exercise for dementia prevention, healthy eating for dementia prevention, and cognitive enhancement for dementia prevention In addition to the national dementia prevention publicity and national response efforts such as programs, it is necessary to actively participate in the dementia prevention program centered on the community to practice the correct dementia prevention behavior and provide sufficient opportunities to prevent it.

  • The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Tuberculosis Interview Instrument (K-TII). The instrument was first translated into Korean, back-translated to English, and reviewed. After the translation process, the instrument was revised from 52 items to 37 items by researchers and an expert according to the systematic review. In addition, these items were reduced to 32 items after the content validity test was done by 9 experts. As a result of pilot study conducted in 20 early childhood teachers, 32 items were selected for the preliminary instrument. Data collected from 289 early childhood teachers were used to test the validity and reliability of the preliminary instrument. The result of factor analysis showed that the instrument categorized into 7 factors explaining 71% of the total variance and 27 items were retained for the final instrument. The result of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient was .88. In conclusion, the K-TII may be a suitable instrument for assessing tuberculosis prevention behaviors in early childhood teachers in Korea.

  • Found pesticide-contaminated eggs in 2017, the situation became a hot issue in many countries in the world as well as Korea. In the context of the pesticide-contaminated egg, this study explored that preventive behavioral intention would be predicted by perceived susceptibility and severity from health belief model, trust in the government and evaluation of information from the government, and subjective knowledge. We found that preventive behavioral intention was explained by perceived severity (${\beta}=.262$, t=3.531, p<0.001), trust in the government (${\beta}=.25$, t=3.281, p<0.001), and evaluation of the information from the government (${\beta}=.226$, t=2.936, p<0.01) through stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. The findings imply the government would administer policy in terms of credibility, accuracy, and consistency for decreasing the public's sense of unease and panic when a similar incident occurs.

  • This study was conducted through Google online survey from November 24 to November 26, 2021 targeting 276 students from the department of dental hygiene at a university in Gangwon-do. The purpose of this study was to investigate the infection awareness of uniforms, recognition of washing rules, and the intention to prevent infectious diseases through individualism and collectivist self-esteem. Statistical methods were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 24.0 and AMOS 21.0 as follows. For analysis, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, structural equation, and ANOVA analysis were performed. As a result, it was confirmed that the models of uniform infection awareness, uniform washing rule recognition(p<.001), self-esteem, individualism, and collectivist intention to prevent infectious diseases were suitable(p<.001). Collectivism was found to affect the perception of uniform infection, the recognition of uniform washing rules, and the intention to prevent infectious diseases, confirming that self-esteem and collectivism had an effect on the change of perception for infection prevention. In the future, it will be possible to use the uniform washing method considering collectivism in infection control education of the dental hygiene.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out factors affecting intentions to seek help for suicidal ideation in Korean Army and to provide a basis for approaches to facilitate formal or informal help seeking for suicidal ideation. A total of 471 Korean soldiers participated in the current study. First, the question of whether suicidal ideation have a significant influence on general help seeking, and whether public stigma and self stigma mediate the relationship between suicidal ideation and general help seeking were examined. According to the results, public stigma and self stigma partially mediated the relationship between suicidal ideation and general help seeking, indicating that suicidal ideation not only has an indirect effect on general help seeking through public stigma and self stigma, but also has a direct influence on general help seeking.
