One of the oldest chestnuts in economic geography is this: Cultural and creative industries strongly gather in large cities and this geographic concentration of economic activities leads to regional development. Of course, depending on the circumstances, such a proposition still holds good. But, under the current paradigm shift to knowledge-based economy, it may be open to question. This study aims to investigate financing and knowledge accumulation in the film industry through an alternative framework for explaining their spatial distributions, "formation mechanism of economic space." From the fact that their production organizations are formed on a project basis, project-based financing structure in the investment stage and knowledge accumulation process in the production stage form both axes of it. Film industry as the most mature industry among the cultural and creative industries does not always concentrate in a certain place (industrial agglomeration) or show metropolis-oriented preference. This allows us to reconsider our long brooding theory.

The Power and Knowledge are attractive materials that could be used in all of cultural content genre with storytelling. Because he, whether or not own knowledge, could be an important tool of narrative strategy for popularity keeping with a confrontation and conflict. This study aimed to explore the power and knowledge appearing in . For this purpose, it used the structuralistic methodologies of Saussure and Levi-Strauss, analyzing binary oppositions between the characters mainly connected with the knowledge and power. Three categories was analytic object, 'Place(abbey, book repository)' 'Debate on laughter', 'The argument for heresy.' As a result, we found the three materials had narrative strategy fully following binary oppositional structure. In that movie, which was deployed in a basis with knowledge and power, we eventually found that contemporary reality veiled the truth was paradoxically revealed with these narrative strategy. And we confirmed that it was very important the attribute of knowledge and power in narrative processing.

The importance of the convergence education is getting more and more emphasized. But the university convergence education has not yet met today's needs. So this study is focused on showing effective practice methods and finding development directions of the university convergence criticism education. One of a significant trend of the contemporary academic education of liberal arts is the tendency of the convergent and integrative studies. What is essential in the convergent and integrative studies creativity. The zeitgeist of knowledge-based society is change and innovation. In response to its request, college education is being asked to do convergence education, And general education as the basis of convergence education is strengthened.

Since the introduction of motion picture in the early 20th century, Korean motion picture industry has gradually evolved as one of the world leaders. However, due to the rapid technological change as exemplified by the emergence of the new digital and 3D cinema technologies, there is a need to re-consider the existing technology policy and strategy designed for the adoption and effective use of new technologies. In this paper, the authors address this issue by emphasizing the technological development side rather than the use/adoption side. In order to provide policy makers with critical information on the current status of the sector, we analyzed the sectoral innovation system of the Korean motion picture industry. In order to conduct this analysis, we re-visited previous literature and interviewed experts in the motion picture sector. Then, the authors attempted to identify the characteristics and problems of the current Korean motion picture industry. Based on the insights gained from this research, we draw policy implications for technological innovation in this sector. However, the implications from this paper are not limited to the motion picture industry. As the motion picture industry is a new case for innovation studies, our paper may provide new research opportunities to the academia.

Sally Potter's movie, Orlando is a bold re-make of Virginia Woolf's classic novel, Orlando: A Biography, in which an English nobleman survives 400 years - as a man and then a woman. This paper focuses on a study of the film of Orlando in light of the feministic view. In Woolf's gender-bending, time-traveling novel, Orlando, Woolf probes the ideology of patriarchal society through an androgynous persona. Sally Potter's adroit revision of Woolf's novel not only duplicates Woolf's Orlando but it also catches Woolf's feminism by using cinematic expertise. The film is incredibly true to Woolf's spirit. The most explicit changes were structural so the storyline was simplified. Thus Orlando gives us a license to travel freely from a man to a woman. In short, Orlando is not about feminism but the unity and harmony of male and female.

내러티브의 복잡도는 수용자의 이해와 흥미에 직접적으로 영향을 미치기 때문에 창작과정에서 체계적으로 관리되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 내러티브 구성에 있어서의 지식 분배 작업에 초점을 맞추어 정보 엔트로피 개념을 활용한 복잡도 평가 방법을 개발하였다. 수용자의 지식상태 변화 과정에서 발생하는 정보량을 엔트로피로 계산하여 복잡도 척도로 활용하였다. 실제 영화 내러티브를 대상으로 사례 연구를 수행하였고, 본 방법이 내러티브의 구조적 특성과 전개과정에서의 변화를 효과적으로 반영함을 확인하였다.

To know the delivery effect and the disagree problem of an image meaning for an independent film, we analyzed the understanding level and problem of the film focused the self-producted "The way". The results which applied an interview question to general undergraduates and film major postgraduates, they admitted the film as an artistic film. But it was difficult for the film to delivery an image meaning to general spectator. Also they couldn't understand completely the film messages without having the entire acknowledge of movie. Namely, the film has been failed a spectator mobilization, because it had a strong mania propensity. Moreover, film-major specialists couldn't stand the correct understanding of the film without explaining the planning intention and the synopsis. Most people presented the opposite opinion about the sympathy of an image meaning.

This study, as part of the research on mathematics teacher knowledge analyzed the differences in understanding and familiarity on geometric knowledge of middle-high school teachers. Through this study, survey was carried out using a questionnaire and examination for 80 middle-high school teachers. As the result, differences between familiarities about believing in knowing about the proposition, and actually understanding why the proposition is established, was big. These results can provide us implications on the education of teachers and pre-service teachers of middle-high school.

The purpose of this study is to prove the students' understanding of audiovisual translation and the class effect by using the lesson plan that can efficiently teach the audiovisual translation class, which is one of the major elective courses at S University. After taking the course, a questionnaire was surveyed and the results were analyzed. The response and satisfaction with the content of the class was positive and very high, and it was confirmed that the background knowledge of the movie was especially helpful for translation practice. The effect of the class was focused on translating subtitles, and only the abbreviated part of the response to the questionnaire was expressed in a table, and the rest was expressed descriptively. Specifically, the response rate for abbreviations, pronouns, titles suitable for personal relationships, putting subjects and predicates close together were the most positive, followed by natural expressions, sign writing, handling of honorifics and informal words, attaching subject and predicates closer, translating them in reverse, and converting units.

This paper studies the recent surge in the number of faith-based films in Hollywood, with the aim to explore the context and implications of this new trend. By using the theoretical framework of the study of the Tilich and Van der Leeuw, who have explored the relationship between religion, culture and art, this article discusses the meaning of the spiritual theme in the film. A couple of common points can be found among the faith-based films that have been produced since the 2010s. While these films attempt a universal approach to the fundamental theme of spirituality through popular narratives familiar to the audience, they also stress 'historical truthfulness and credibility' by representing the reality, such as a featuring real person or a true story in the film. The main characters are depicted as "victorious losers" that are distinguished from the typical Hollywood superhero and the films repeatedly show the human being constantly 'asking' questions to God. By analyzing these characteristics, the paper demonstrates that recent Hollywood faith-based films have successfully differentiated themselves from existing religious films while symbolizing the universal beliefs and values beyond the religious message so as to attract more audiences to this field. The paper also suggests that despite the advances in modern science and knowledge, the public will always yearn for a spiritual recovery and salvation through the film medium, serving as a potential source that provides an outlet for spiritual experience.
