3D Track Models Generation and Applications Based on LiDAR Data for Railway Route Management (철도노선관리에서의 LIDAR 데이터 기반의 3차원 궤적 모델 생성 및 적용)

  • The visual implementation of 3-dimensional national environment is focused by the requirement and importance in the fields such as, national development plan, telecommunication facility deployment plan, railway construction, construction engineering, spatial city development, safety and disaster prevention engineering. The currently used DEM system using contour lines, which embodies national geographic information based on the 2-D digital maps and facility information has limitation in implementation in reproducing the 3-D spatial city. Moreover, this method often neglects the altitude of the rail way infrastructure which has narrow width and long length. There it is needed to apply laser measurement technique in the spatial target object to obtain accuracy. Currently, the LiDAR data which combines the laser measurement skill and GPS has been introduced to obtain high resolution accuracy in the altitude measurement. In this paper, we first investigate the LiDAR based researches in advanced foreign countries, then we propose data a generation scheme and an algorithm for the optimal manage and synthesis of railway facility system in our 3-D spatial terrain information. For this object, LiDAR based height data transformed to DEM, and the realtime unification of the vector via digital image mapping and raster via exactness evaluation is transformed to make it possible to trace the model of generated 3-dimensional railway model with long distance for 3D tract model generation.

A Study on Control of Sealing Robot for Cracks of Concrete Surface (콘크리트 표면 균열 실링을 위한 로봇의 제어 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Since the crack in the surface of the concrete acts as the main reason influencing the life span of the structure, regular inspections and maintenance are required. The sealing required for maintenance of the concrete surface is a method of repairing the crack in the surface in the beginning, and is effective in preventing additional cracks and expansion that occurs with time. However, sealing on large sized structures such as tall buildings or bottom parts of bridges are difficult to ensure safety of the workers due to inadequate working environments. Due to this reason, the importance of the need for sealing automation for the maintenance of large sized concrete structures is emerging. This study proposes two control methods to apply robot systems to the sealing of cracks on the bottom parts of concrete bridges. First is the method of automatically tracking the trajectory of cracks. The robot gets the trajectory of the cracks using video information obtained from cameras. Comparing the previous several points and new point, the next point can be estimated. Thus, the trajectory of the crack can be tracked automatically. The other method is sealing by maintaining steady force to the contacting surface. The concrete surface exposed to an external environment for a long time gets an irregular roughness. If robots are able to carry out sealing while maintaining a steady contact force on these rough surfaces, complete equal sealing can be maintained. In order to maintain this equal force, a force control method using impedance is proposed. This paper introduces two developed control methods to apply to sealing robots, and conducts a Lab Test and Field Test after applying to a robot. Based on the test results, opinions on the possibilities of field application of the robot applied with the control methods are presented.

A Study about the Training Program for the Kolman Technique on the Horizontal Bars (체조 철봉 콜만 기술동작의 훈련프로그램 적용 및 향상도평가)

  • This study develops a technique training program to enhance the completion of Kolman, the high air flight technique, and applies it to two national athletes of the horizontal bar, one of the gymnastic events, for eight weeks. After that, their improvement was measured through 3D motion analysis to help them elevate their performance. The training program includes swing, hand release, twist, and bar hold, and its implementation produced the results stated below. They were made to practice the motion in the following way. After the hand-standing of giant swing which initiates the motion, they lift their body upward a little bit more. Next, they take their body down almost like a vertical descent and make a deep tap swing. Instead of doing the tap swing which widens the flection of hip and shoulder joints, while body revolution is more emphasized in particular, they release the bar as raising the centroid of their body sufficiently. During the flight, they try to narrow every joint in their body. As a result, the bar's elasticity becomes greatly increased, and since the backing rate of their body gets higher, the centripetal force of the swing is improved that they can release the bar in the higher position. In addition, because they can erect their body faster during the flight, they can perform comfortable twist and revolution in the air. They can also adjust the direction of the flight easily without too much concern for the proper timing of hand release as they rise. Thereby, they can not only maintain adequate distance from the bar for the bar hold but also ensure enough distance for body revolution and twist.

Analysis of change of internal organ in the Inter-and Intrafraction using MVCT (MVCT를 이용한 치료 간(Interfraction) 그리고 치료 중(Intrafraction) 내부 장기 변화 분석)

  • Purpose : Depending on a variety of therapeutic areas using MVCT(Megavoltage computed tomography) intra-and interfraction is to evaluate changes in patient position. Materials and Methods : In this study, head and neck, thorax, liver, and prostate tumor patients, 48 people with a full course of treatment for patients with various MVCT scan was performed. Average 60 per patient MVCT images were acquired and analyzed. Results : Interfraction error thorax and abdomen, and pelvis in the longitudinal difference was more than 3 mm. Intrafraction to see a change after the end of treatment MVCT taken, and the results confirmed Intrafraction 2 mm in motion around the longitudinal difference. In addition, due to changes in the movement before and after treatment, Inter-and Intrafraction difference was found. Conclusion : In the present study, the Head and Neck, Thorax, liver, prostate cancer in patients with inter-and intrafraction changes and target the appropriate fixtures to complete the outline of the margin would be helpful is considered.

Developing Upcycled DIY Kit Made from Subway Billboard Material (지하철 광고판을 활용한 업사이클링 DIY의생활소품 키트 개발)

  • The main purpose of this research was to develop upcycled DIY kits made from subway billboard material to make living products. This study was conducted based on the following four stages of design process: research and analyses, DIY kits' design direction establishment, completion of DIY kits, and implementation and evaluation. Through this study, we developed DIY kits for pouches, tissue cases and pencil cases. In the implementation and evaluating stage, we chose to make pouches because it includes zipper attachment process. Implementation was conducted by recruiting four high school students and four female adults. As a result, we found the following: First, the participants were able to make pouches in less than an hour. Second, pouch making has a moderate degree of difficulty. Third, video instructions should be slowed down. Forth, materials need to be improved. Fifth, environmental awareness was improved by using unfamiliar subway billboard materials. The upcycled DIY kits, developed as a result of this study, can be used as eco-friendly education sources for secondary school students as well as for adults' healing hobby.

  • This paper utilizing model picture of finished clothes in fashion design field various material (textile fabrics) doing Draping directly can invent new design, and do not produce direction sample or poetic theme width and confirm clothes work to simulation. Also, construct database about model and material image and embodied system that can confirm Mapping result by real time. And propose clothes simulation system to dress to 3D human body model of imagination because using several cloth pieces first by process to do so that can do simulation dressing abstracted poetic theme width to 3D model here. Proposed system creates 3D model who put clothes by physical simulation that do fetters to mass-spring model after read 3D human body model file and 2D foundation pattern file. System of this treatise examines collision between triangle that compose human body model for realistic simulation and triangle that compose clothes and achieved reaction processing. Because number of triangle to compose human body is very much, this collision examination and reaction processing need much times. To solve this problem, treatise that see could create realistic picture by method to diminish collision public prosecutor and reaction processing number, and could dress clothes to imagination human body model within water plant taking advantage of Octree space sharing techniques.

Application of 3D point cloud modeling for performance analysis of reinforced levee with biopolymer (3차원 포인트 클라우드 모델링 기법을 활용한 바이오폴리머 기반 제방 보강공법의 성능 평가)

  • In this study, a large-scale levee breach experiment from lateral overflow was conducted to verify the effect of the new reinforcement method applied to the levee's surface. The new method could prevent levee failure and minimize damage caused by overflow in rivers. The levee was designed at the height of 2.5 m, a length of 12 m, and a slope of 1:2. A new material mixed with biopolymer powder, water, weathered granite, and loess in an appropriate ratio was sprayed on the levee body's surface at a thickness of about 5 cm, and vegetation recruitment was also monitored. At the Andong River Experiment Center, a flow (4 ㎥/s) was introduced from the upstream of the A3 channel to induce the lateral overflow. The change of lateral overflow was measured using an acoustic doppler current profiler in the upstream and downstream. Additionally, cameras and drones were used to analyze the process of the levee breach. Also, a new method using 3D point cloud for calculating the surface loss rate of the levee over time was suggested to evaluate the performance of the levee reinforcement method. It was compared to existing method based on image analysis and the result was reasonable. The proposed 3D point cloud methodology could be a solution for evaluating the performance of levee reinforcement methods.

  • Gojong' Birth Anniversary Memorial Banquet in the 1910s was forced to be performed differently from the performance style in Joseon Dynasty period that featured a harmonious majestic beauty of etiquette music. The banquet was separated into three different sessions of ceremony, luncheon and performance', which clearly revealed a distinctive pattern of etiquette music. The performance was accompanied by the dinner party or was lightly implemented as part of evening entertainment. With the use of the term entertainment, the performances belonging to this category fell into nothing but something to enjoy, amusement, fun and play. The contents of such performances were not closely woven into the fabric of the entire banquet but were individualized and scattered in a way of putting the performances in a state of flux in line with the circumstances. Therefore, it became increasingly hard to expect a high degree of completion and solid structure of performances. The items of performance included western music, popular vocal music, popular instrumental music, magic, and film, which were not played in traditional court banquet in the presence of Gojong rather than traditional music and dance performed in court. In other words, the court performance could not maintain its traditional heritage but was transformed into a mixture of popular performance and new forms of art. It was driven by the Japanese imperialism toward the atmosphere of entertainment in oblivion of tradition but not toward the external extension of court performances.

  • Object detection in maritime means that the captain detects floating objects that has a risk of colliding with the ship using the computer automatically and as accurately as human eyes. In conventional ships, the presence and distance of objects are determined through radar waves. However, it cannot identify the shape and type. In contrast, with the development of AI, cameras help accurately identify obstacles on the sea route with excellent performance in detecting or recognizing objects. The computer must calculate high-volume pixels to analyze digital images. However, the CPU is specialized for sequential processing; the processing speed is very slow, and smooth service support or security is not guaranteed. Accordingly, this study developed maritime object detection software and implemented it with FPGA to accelerate the processing of large-scale computations. Additionally, the system implementation was improved through embedded boards and FPGA interface, achieving 30 times faster performance than the existing algorithm and a three-times faster entire system.

AI Art Creation Case Study for AI Film & Video Content (AI 영화영상콘텐츠를 위한 AI 예술창작 사례연구)

  • Currently, we stand between computers as creative tools and computers as creators. A new genre of movies, which can be called a post-cinema situation, is emerging. This paper aims to diagnose the possibility of the emergence of AI cinema. To confirm the possibility of AI cinema, it was examined through a case study whether the creation of a story, narrative, image, and sound, which are necessary conditions for film creation, is possible by artificial intelligence. First, we checked the visual creation of AI painting algorithms Obvious, GAN, and CAN. Second, AI music has already entered the distribution stage in the market in cooperation with humans. Third, AI can already complete drama scripts, and automatic scenario creation programs using big data are also gaining popularity. That said, we confirmed that the filmmaking requirements could be met with AI algorithms. From the perspective of Manovich's 'AI Genre Convention', web documentaries and desktop documentaries, typical trends post-cinema, can be said to be representative genres that can be expected as AI cinemas. The conditions for AI, web documentaries and desktop documentaries to exist are the same. This article suggests a new path for the media of the 4th Industrial Revolution era through research on AI as a creator of post-cinema.
