Design and Analysis of Permanent Magnet Double-Sided Linear Synchronous Motor with Perpendicular Arrangement (수직배열형 양측식 영구자석 선형 동기전동기의 설계 및 해석)

  • In this paper, a new linear synchronous motor - permanent magnet double-sided synchronous motor with perpendicular arrangement (PMDLSM), was proposed. It was designed to account for the drawbacks of conventional linear motors, such as the normal force and end effects. The detent force and the thrust were analyzed for different combinations of primary core modules and magnet poles of the machine, and the optimum combination was made. The characteristics of the perpendicular PMDLSM were analyzed by finite element method, and the experiments agreed well with the analysis.

  • A robust nonlinear speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is presented. A perturbed dynamic model including the influence of parameter variations and speed measurement error on the nonlinear speed control of a PMSM is derived. Based on this model, a boundary layer integral sliding mode controller to improve the robustness and performance of the nonlinear speed control of a PMSM is proposed and compared with the conventional controller.

  • This paper deals with a novel utilization method of the predicted current in the high performance PI current controller with a control time delay. The inevitable error of the predicted current in the linear servo drive using a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor is analyzed and a modified cross-coupling decoupling synchronous frame PI current controller is proposed in order to improve the current control response under both the control time delay and the inevitable current prediction error. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed current controller has an improved current control performance under both the control time delay and the inevitable current prediction error in the servo drive system.

  • This paper presents an advanced method for an initial pole position estimation of a Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) that has an accurate incremental encoder for servo applications but does not have Hall sensors as a magnetic pole sensor. By appropriately using the secant method as a numerical method the proposed algorithm finds either of two zero force positions and then the correct d-axis by applying a q-axis test current. It only requires the tuned current controller and the relative position information md so it can be simply applicable to a rotary PMSM. The experimental results show the validity of the proposed method, which has an excellent performance with respect to an accurate pole position estimation under the minimal moving distance(average of about 85㎛) during the estimation process.

  • 고정투자율법이란 (Fixed Permeability Method) 시스템이 자기적으로 포화 상태에 있을 때 각 요소별 동작지점의 투자율을 고정하여 선형적으로 시스템을 재해석하는 방법으로, 본 논문에서는 제안된 고정투자율법을 적용하여 두 가지 이상의 자계원에 의해 포화가 발생할 경우 각각의 영향을 구분 지어 포화시 철심내의 자계 비선형 문제를 해석하였다. 아울러 철심형영구 자석 선형 동기 전동기(PMLSM, Steel-Cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor)에서 대전류 인가시 발생하는 철심 포화 특성을 규명하였고 해석의 타당성을 실험값과의 비교를 통해 검증하였다.

  • Recently, the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor as low noise, high speed and high thrust force transportation system has been proposed but this motor causes an increase of material cost because of its characteristic arranging the armature on the full length of transportation lines when this system is applied to the long distance transportation system. Therefore, we suggested discontinuous arrangement method of the armature to solve this problem. However, Detent force which causes thrust force ripple generating noise, vibration and decline of performance is generated when a mover pass between the armatures. Thus, in this paper, we examined characteristic of detent force to reduce the end edge effect according to the end edge teeth's height and auxiliary teeth and suggested the shape that can the most reduce the detent force.

  • One of the most important technical improvement required for ropeless elevator system to become practical is the improvements in overall system efficiency. Moreover, the predominant drawback of permanent magnet (PM) linear synchronous motor (LSM) is large detent force. Therefore, for the given volume the selection of high power density PM-LSM with low detent force is very imperative. In this paper, we will investigate the characteristics of thrust and detent force of PM-LSM under different motor topology structure. Finally, the long stator double-sided iron core type PM-LSM with fractional slot winding is the best choice for the ropeless elevator system.

  • This paper deals with dynamic analysis method of a slotless type permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) using 3-dimensional space harmonic method. The results are good agreement with FEA results because that slotless type PMLSM has simple structure and no saturation of core. And then, Under open-loop control, starting characteristic is analyzed by voltage equation combining with dynamic equation. In order to obtain more accuracy results, this paper use instantaneous back-EMF and thrust instead of back-EMF constant and thrust constant.

  • This paper deals with the magnet arrangement for vibration reduction and improvement in Starting Characteristic of Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM). Thrust, detent force, normal force and lateral force are generated in PMLSM. The detent force and lateral force cause the vibration of PMLSM. The detent force and the lateral force are analyzed by using 3-Dimensional Finite Element Method (3-D FEM). The efficiency and vibration of PMLSM are measured by experiment.

  • This paper describes the initial angle adjustment method on Hall Sensorless Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor The implementation of the controller is designed on the DSP TMS320C32 board. PMLSM is operated by using 4-point absolute positions profile with each velocity, acceleration and deceleration. To achieve Hall Sensorless characteristics, Moving Coil Type PMLSM is used and initial angle adjustment algorithm is adapted.
