Thermal Characteristic Analysis of Thermal Protection System with Porous Insulation (다공성 단열재를 포함한 열방어구조의 열 특성 분석)

  • In a number of industries, porous insulations have been frequently used, reducing thermal insulation space through excellent performance of the thermal insulation's characteristics. This paper suggests an effective thermal conductivity prediction model. Firstly, we perform a literature review of traditional effective thermal conductivity prediction models and compare each model with experimental heat transfer results. Furthermore, this research defines the effectiveness of thermal conductivity prediction models using experimental heat transfer results and the Zehner-Schlunder model. The newly defined effective thermal conductivity prediction model has been verified to better predict performance than other models. Finally, this research performs a transient heat transfer analysis of a thermal protection system with a porous insulation in a high speed vehicle using the finite element method and confirms the validity of the effective thermal conductivity prediction model.

  • CFD 방법을 이용하여 건식저장 용기내 사용후핵연료 열전달 해석을 수행한 결과 연료봉의 붕괴열에 의한 내부 유체의 자연대류 현상과 상세 핵연료 온도분포를 예측할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 향후에는 다양한 시험조건에서 복사열전달을 포함한 정밀한 CFD 계산을 수행하여 피복관 온도분포의 예측치를 실험결과와 비교할 예정이다.

Transient Heat Transfer Analysis and Fire Test for Evaluation on Fire Resistance Performance of A60 Class Deck Penetration Piece (A60급 갑판 관통 관의 방화성능 평가를 위한 과도 열전달 해석과 화재시험)

  • A60 class deck penetration piece is a fire-resistance apparatus installed on the deck compartment to protect lives and prevent flame diffusion in fire accidents. In case that the A60 piece is newly developed or its initial design is revised, it is important to verify the fire resistance performance using a fire test procedure (FTP) code. In this paper, transient heat transfer analysis was carried out to evaluate the fire resistance design compatibility of the newly devised A60 piece. The analysis results were verified via a fire test. The heat transfer characteristics were also investigated by comparing design specifications, such as diameter, internal configuration, and material type. The analysis was performed using ABAQUS/Implicit, and the fire test was performed according to the FTP code. The fire resistance performance of the A60 pieces satisfied the safety of life at sea convention regulation. The material type was the most important design specification for the A60 piece. Based on the maximum test temperature, the measured temperature of SUS316L material was 25% lower than that of S45C on average. The differences between thermal conductivity and specific heat of each material were 17% and 58%, respectively.

  • 직조 금속 스크린 리브(rib) 이 바닥에 설치된 사각 덕트에서 열전달과 유체유동의 압력강하를 측정하기 위해 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 시험부의 치수는 200 mm(W) ${\times}$ 40 mm(H) ${\times}$ 712 mm(L)이고 수력직경은 66.6 mm이다. 입구영역에는 1.72m 길이의 가열되지 않은 동일한 치수의 채널을 설치하였다. 메쉬가 다른 4가지의 직조금속 스크린 리브에 대해 측정하였다. 그리고 비교를 위해 일체형 리브에 대해서도 측정하였다. 국부 열전달 계수의 측정에는 스테인레스 강제 포일(foil) 히터와 T형 열전대률 이용하였다. 레이놀즈 수는 23,000에서 58,000의 범위이다. 덕트의 수력직경($D_h$)에 대한 직조 금속 리브의 높이(e)의 비($e/D_h$)는 0.075 이고 리브 간격(p)과 높이의 비(p/e)는 10이다. 실험 결과 메쉬가 없는 일체형 리입에서 가장 누셀트 수와 마찰계수가 컷다.

Prediction for Heat Transfer Characteristics of Supercritical Kerosene Using Mixture Surrogate (대체 혼합물을 이용한 케로신의 초임계 열전달 특성 예측)

  • In this study heat transfer characteristics of kerosene at supercritical condition was predicted. And a sample heat transfer calculation was performed using this result. The prediction was done by assuming kerosene as a mixture of a number of pure substances, and combining the thermodynamic properties of them, using NIST SUPERTRAPP. A regeneratively cooled supersonic combustor will be desinged using the resultant thermophysical property data of supercritical kerosene. Comparing with the combustion test results of the regenerative cooling combustor, the predicted thermophysical property data will be verified.

  • The cooling heat transfer characteristics of supercritical $CO_2$ in a helical coil gas cooler on the change of coil diameters are experimentally investigated. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable speed pump, a mass flow-meter, a pre-heater and a helical coil gas cooler (test section). The test sections are made of a copper tube which the inner diameter is 4.55 mm and the helical coil diameters are done of 26.75 mm and 41.35 mm. The mass fluxes of refrigerant are varied from 200 to 800 [$kg/m^2s$] and the inlet pressures of gas cooler are 7.5 to 10.0 (MPa). A gas cooler with helical coil diameter of 26.75 mm has larger heat transfer coefficient than that of 41.35 mm. Also, when compared with experimental data and published correlations avaliable, most of correlations are under-predicted, but Pitla published correlations avaliable, most of correlations are under-predicted, but Pitla et al.'s correlation shows a relatively good coincidence with the experimental data except the region of pseudo critical temperature.

Heat Transfer Characteristics of Carbon Dioxide in a Inclined Helical Coil Type Heat Exchanger with Inner Diameter Tube of 4.55 mm (내경 4.55 mm의 경사진 헬리컬 코일형 열교환기내 이산화탄소의 열전달 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop during gas cooling process of $CO_2$ (R-744) in inclined helical coil copper tubes were investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and a inclined helical coil type gas cooler (test section). The test section consists of a smooth copper tube, which is specified as the inner diameter of 4.55 mm. The refrigerant mass fluxes were varied from 200 to $600kg/m^2s$ and the inlet pressures of gas cooler were done 7.5 to 10.0 (MPa). The heat transfer coefficients of $CO_2$ in the inclined helical coil tubes increase with the increase of mass flux and gas cooling pressure of $CO_2$. The pressure drop of $CO_2$ in the gas cooler shows relatively good coincidence with those predicted by Ito's correlation developed for single-phase in a helical coil tube. The local heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ is well coincident with the correlation by Pitla et al. However, at the region near pseudo-critical temperature, the experiments indicate higher values than the Pitla et al. correlation.

Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Propane and Iso-butane in Micro-fin Tubes (마이크로핀관에서 프로판과 이소부탄의 증발 열전달 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, evaporation heat transfer characteristics of propane and iso-butane in micro-fin tubes were investigated experimentally. Test section has a micro-fin tube with outside diameter of 12.70 mm, and 75 fins with a fin heights of 0.25 mm. The experimental results summarize as the followings: The average evaporation heat transfer coefficients of He's refrigerants is higher than those of HCFC22, and appeared in the order of iso-butane, propane with respect to the approaching of the high mass flux. The evaporation heat transfer coefficient of micro fin tube is about $10{\sim}80%$ higher than those of smooth tube. This results from the study can be used in the case of designing heat transfer exchanger using hydrocarbons as the refrigerant for the air-conditioning systems.

조사시험용 DUPIC 핵연료의 온도분석

  • DUPIC 핵연료 소결체의 하나로 조사시험과 관련하여 이중 피복관으로 구성된 소결체 설계를 수행하였으며 각각의 설계변수가 핵연료의 온도에 미치는 영향하였다. 하나로에서 조사할 DUPIC 핵연료의 설계해석 결과, DUPIC 핵연료의 조사시험시 열전도도, 출력, 반경 틈새 등은 핵연료의 온도에 크게 영향을 미쳤으며, 피복재 두께, gamma열, 열전달 계수 등은 핵연료의 온도에 크게 영향을 미치지 않았다. Transient 온도분석의 경우 약 160초 이상의 시간에서 평형 온도에 도달할 것으로 분석되었다.

  • HEATCON은 80컬럼을 사용할 수 있는 APPLE II용으로 BASIC용어를 사용한 과도 열전도 해석 프로그램이며, 사용자와 대화식으로 되어 있어서 사용자가 열전도의 기본개념을 이해하고 있으면 별도의 설명서가 없어도 화면에 나타나는 지시를 따라서 사용할 수 있다. HEATCON은 개발후 마사츄세츠 대학교에서 열전달 과목을 수강하는 학생들에게 한 학기동안 시험적으로 사 용토록 하여 검토 되었으며 이때 발견된 문제점들이 모두 해결 되었다. 소프트웨어의 개발에서 이러한 시험사용을 통한 검토는 매우 중요하며, 개발자가 예상하지 못했던 문제점들이 발견되는 경우가 많이 발생한다.
