Optimization Process Models of CHP and Renewable Energy Hybrid Systems in CES (구역전기 사업시 CHP와 신재생에너지 하이브리드 시스템의 최적공정 모델)

  • In SS branch of Korea District Heating Corporation, Combined Heat & Power power plant with 99MW capacity and 98Gcal / h capacity is operated as a district electricity business. In this region, it is difficult to operate the generator due to the problem of surplus heat treatment between June and September due to the economic recession and the decrease in demand, so it is urgent to develop an economical energy new business model. In this study, we will develop an optimized operation model by introducing a renewable energy hybrid system based on actual operation data of this site. In particular, among renewable energy sources, fuel cell (Fuel Cell) power generation which can generate heat and electricity at the same time with limited location constraints, photovoltaic power generation which is representative renewable energy, ESS (Energy Storage System). HOMER (Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources) program was used to select the optimal model. As a result of the economic analysis, 99MW CHP combined cycle power generation is the most economical in terms of net present cost (NPC), but 99MW CHP in terms of carbon emission trading and renewable energy certificate And 5MW fuel cells, and 521kW of solar power to supply electricity and heat than the supply of electricity and heat by 99MW CHP cogeneration power, it was shown that it is economically up to 247.5 billion won. we confirmed the results of the improvement of the zone electricity business condition by introducing the fuel cell and the renewable energy hybrid system as the optimization process model.

  • The unpredicted worldwide oil price makes the energy efficiency technology be more importance than any other period. The small cogeneration system is one of the most representative technology among the energy efficiency technologies, and recently, the household cogeneration system has been the center object of attention because of the loss of power transmission and the reasonable energy consumption relative to the household (condensing) boiler producing heat only. A tiny, 1kW of electrical output, gas fueled internal combustion engine cogeneration system was investigated. The electrical efficiency and thermal efficiency of the system were measured. With the emission characteristics, the cogeneration system was analyzed. It was showed the gas engine cogeneration system produced the lowest NOx level compared any other cogeneration system due to the three-way catalyst.

  • The importance of the more efficient cogeneration system is emphasized. Also the more clean energy is needed at recent energy system. The cogeneration system using Lean burn engine is more preferred to the system using Rich burn engine because of the electrical efficiency. Although the cogeneration system using Lean burn engine is economically preferred, because of the NOx emission level, the system using Rich burn engine with 3-way catalyst can only be used in Korea. The NOx regulation level is 50ppm at oxygen level 13%. The cogeneration hybrid system is consist of Lean burn gas engine, afterburner, boiler, economizer, DeNOx catalyst, combustion catalyst, absorption chiller, cooling tower and grid connection system. The system was accurately evaluated and the result is following ; 90% total efficiency, below 10ppm NOx, 50ppm CO, 25ppm UHC. The cogeneration hybrid system can meet the NOx level and exhaust gas regulation. It can achieve the clean combustion gas and efficient cogeneration system.

  • The first technological advance to improve the output and efficiency of the latest steam turbines operating in co-generation plants in Korea can be said to be progress in the field of materials that can use high-temperature, high-pressures steam. As a result of design efforts to improve the internal efficiency of steam turbines along with the development of materials, only a few manufacturers of steam turbine have produced high efficiency steam turbines. The internal efficiency of a steam turbine on the steam path operating for a long period of time is gradually lost owing to the limit of mechanical life, and efficiency and output decrease. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model that can analyze the steam flow path performance of HP (High Pressure) and IP (Intermediate Pressure) steam turbine for a co-generation plant using a commercial program and propose a performance calculation method. Owing to the complex performance calculation method of steam turbines, major variables are presented to serve as practically useful references for steam turbine practitioners. In addition, the thermal dynamic analysis(such as heat balance diagram calculation) and the the thermal dynamic calculation required for steam turbine performance calculation and the suitability of the steam turbine performance calculation results were compared with the performance test results.

  • 복합열병합 발전 플랜트의 장점은 도시 근교에 발전 플랜트를 간단히 건설할 수 있으며, 공해를 크게 줄이면서 독립적인 발전이 가능하다는 측면에서 신도시, 신공업단지, 도서지방 등에서 아주 유리한 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 가스 터빈 배기열을 이용하여 대규모 주거 지역이나 공업 단 지내에서 필요한 난\ulcorner냉방열이나 공업열원으로의 활용이 손쉬우며, 주변 시설이 복잡하지 않고, 개선된 연소기술에 의하여 공해를 크게 줄일 수 있다. 최근 들어 분당\ulcorner일산\ulcorner부천 지역 등에 열병합 플랜트가 건설되고 있으나 거의 모든 설계기술은 외국 기술에 의존되고 있으며, 국산화 율도 극히 저조하여 '93년도에 완공된 부천 화력(473MW)의 경우 약 30% 정도이다. 복합열병합 발전 시스템은 가스 터빈, 스팀 터빈 등의 터보기계 기술을 근간으로 하며, 열회수장치 및 열교 환장치의 설계기술, 각종 제어기술 등의 종합 설계기술로서 이미 선진국에서는 실용화된지 오 래되었으며 우리 나라에도 여러 종류의 플랜트가 도입되어 사용되고 있다.

Rationality Review of Cost Allocation Methodology at CHP (열병합발전에서 비용배분 방법론의 합리성 검토)

  • When various kinds of products are produced from a single energy system, the methodology which allocates the common cost to each product cost is very important because it is directly related with the profit and loss of producer and purchaser. In the cost allocation methodology of electricity and heat for CHP, there are heat method, work method, benefit distribution method, exergy method, and so on. Benefit distribution method is the most widely known worldwide, and exergy method is widely recognized among thermal engineers. As a result of review, it is judged that the rationality of benefit distribution method is low because the result deviates from common sense, and the rationality of exergy method is high because the result consistent with common sense. In accounting, it is calculated as merit methodology and the result is used for negotiations between producer and buyer, but In thermal engineering, the rationality of exergy methodology is described only as a thesis. The purpose of this study is to compare and examine the rationality of merit methodology and exergy methodology, and the aim is to describe in detail in order that producer and buyer can understand the rationality of each methodology.

  • In this paper, a simulation approach for the optimum design of cogeneration system is described. For the purpose of the systematic analysis, a simulation tool is developed with which the prediction of the energy load, calculation of operation data according to prime mover or capacity of it, and estimation of economic gains can be carried out. As for the criterion of the optimum design, the economic gains by adopting cogeneration system is taken. Based on the capital, operation, and maintenance costs etc, LCC analysis is to be carried out for the scenarios respectively. In this study, the simulation for the apartment complex is performed and the analysis of the results are described in detail. The effects of the operation parameters such as capital cost, fuel cost, and unit cost for the purchase or sale of heat and electricity on overall economy are also be considered by sensitivity study.
