  • 분말단조란 종래의 분말야금법으로 예비 성형체를 만든후 그것을 단조 소재로 열간단조를 통하여 최종 제품을 만드는 부품가공기술이다. 본 고에서는 분말단조의 이해와 선진국에서 개발에 성공한 사례 및 경제성을 조사함으로써 분말단조기술의 현황 파악 및 기술 축적을 도모하고자 하였다.

Development of Manufacturing Process of Pure Titanium Wire to make Eyewear Frame (안경용 순티타늄 wire 제조 공정개발)

  • After pure titanium Ingot(G2) with 400mm in diameter was manufactured, the analysis of its ingredients showed that the oxygen content was 0.073wt% and the iron content was 0.03wt%, which made ASTM Gr.2 standardization satisfactory. The processed titanium ingot produced 42mm wire rod, and hot rolling of 18th phase produced 9mm wire rod. The hardness analysis of 15.8mm wire rod, which was processed in hot rolling of 10th phase from the surface to the center, resulted in almost constant value with Hv150~200. The last 9mm wire rod had a different yield strength and elongation percentage depending on the temperature as it was led in to a hot roller. However, tensile strength revealed an approximate value and made ASTM B863 standardization satisfactory.

  • 무산소동을 안정화 모재로한 Cu/Nb-Ti 빌렛트를 제작한 다음 간접 열간방식의 압출에 의해 얻어진 봉재를 인발한 후 신선과 열처리를 반복하여 단심 및 다심 Nb-Ti 초전도 선재를 제조하였다. 가공 조직을 조사한 결과, 단심 선재의 경우 Nb-Ti 심의 단면이 균일하게 가공된 것을 확인하였으며 다심선재의 경우는 신선가공에 의하여 다소 불균질한 필라멘트부분이 관찰되었다. 4.2K, 자장하에서 4단자법으로 직선형 단척시료의 임계전류를 측정하여 가공 열처리 조건에 따른 임계전류밀도의 자장특성을 조사하였는데 열처리시간을 길게하고 가공도를 높인 시료일수록 자장하의 임계전류밀도가 높게 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 4.2K, 5T 자장하에서 각각 4 x $10^{5}$A/$cm^{2}$ 및 2 x $10^{5}$A/$cm^{2}$의 임계전류밀도를 나타내는 Nb-Ti 단심 및 다심 초전도선재를 제작 할 수 있었다.있었다.

  • A dynamic mill set-up technique was developed to achieva a more precise roll gap set-up of the finishing mill stands for steel strip rolling. In the conventional mill set-up model the set-up values such as roll gap and roll speed are determined before the sheet bar reached the entry side of the finishing mill train and maintained constant until the strip top end passes through the last stand. In the way however a dynamic set-up logic that gives a way to adjust the roll gap value of the final mill stand for the strip ingoing from the ahead of the front stand was developed and attached to the existing set-up model. The roll gap modification is based on the analysis of the observation in the third stand of the finishing mill train. The dynamic set-up model was proved very effective for the more precise mill set-up and for operational stability in the hot strip finishing mill train.

  • This study investigated the effect of the changes in metal characteristics due to the hot forging on SCR420HB applied to ensure the optimal production of the hot-forging ratio on the mechanical properties of an automotive automatic transmission gear. The microstructural changes in the forging ratio were investigated by adjusting the forging range into multiple ranges from alloy steel. This was done in order to set the optimum forging range given the manufacturing process conditions during the hot forging of alloy steel parts with a carbon content of more than 0.8% wt. The effects of the content change in the microstructure on the mechanical properties due to the use of the part were examined.

  • Bar camber is a phenomenon in which a material with a deformation gradient across its width is bent in the right or left direction in the roll gap. This paper proposes a dynamic setup approach for a side guide for reducing bar camber. A bar tracking scheme using a rotary encoder was adopted to fix an operation point for the side guide. The guiding pressure was utilized for measuring the actual width of the bar with camber. Based on the accurate position and width of the bar, the side guide was dynamically set and operated at the actual roughing train in a hot strip rolling mill. The amount of camber was reduced notably when the dynamic setup scheme was installed in the side guide. 78% of the bars tested had a camber in the range of ${\pm}20mm$, which was an improvement of 27% in terms of production yield.

  • Copper tube rolling process using the planetary rolling mill has been studied by using finite element method. This rolling is process that makes copper tube by three-roll with mannesmann method. Also, rolling process has started from the cold working and finished to the hot working. This rolling process has more advantage that make reduction of process and cost than existing extrusion. This process includes various and complex process parameters. Each of the process parameters affects forming result. Therefore, all of the process parameters should be considered in copper tube rolling. Rolling process for copper tube was successfully simulated and it should be useful to determine optimal rolling condition.

  • The trimming process is required for satisfying the dimensions of a final product in the hot stamping process. In general, the mechanical trimming or laser trimming process is applied after hot stamping. However, these processes have several disadvantages such as short tool life and low productivity. Therefore, in this study, the optimal trimless blank shape for the hot stamping process of a sill side was designed to remove the trimming process after hot stamping. In order to design the trimless blank, numerical analysis was performed. Firstly, CFD analysis was carried out to predict the cooling temperature and holding time of the hot stamping process. Then, the optimal trimless blank shape was determined through FE analysis. The effectiveness of the designed trimless blank shape was verified through a hot stamping experiment at an actual industrial site.

  • Extensive width reduction of slabs is an important technology to achieve continuous production between the steelmaking and hot rolling processes. Conventionally, a vertical roll process has been used to achieve extensive width reduction. However, it is impossible to avoid the defects such as dog-bone, fish tail and camber. The deformation behavior in the width sizing process is more favorable than that in conventional vertical rolling edger, i.e. the material better flows toward the center of slab. This study is carried out to investigate the deformation of slab by two-step sizing press. The FE-simulation is utilized to predict plastic deformation mode in compression by a sizing press of slabs far hot rolling. In this paper, the various causes of the asymmetrical rolling phenomena are mentioned for the purpose of understanding of rolling conditions. Analytical results of slab-deformation by sizing press are presented below in this study.
