  • 이번 호에서는 연안어업의 소형어선을 4척 소개하기로 한다. 노르웨이의 FRP선망겸포경어선 OLAVSON호, 노르웨이의 FRP연승어선 GIVNA MARIE호, 스페인건조 프랑스에 등록된 강제연승어선 NATALIE CHANTAL 2호, 그리고 영국의 강제 트롤 ASHLON호이다. 이 어선은 길이가 짧아 측면에서 보면 작게 보이지만 폭과 깊이가 크기 때문에 국내 총 톤수로 보면 40톤에서 80톤급이다. 우리나라 어선으로 비교하면 근해어선의 규모이다.

A REVIEW OF SOME ASPECTS OF THE YELLOWFIN TUNA FISHERY IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN (대서양 황다랭이의 자원생물학적 연구)

  • Korea started the Atlantic tuna fishery from 1964 by means of longline, then added bait-boats in 1972. Both fisheries have given the top priority to catch yellowfin tuna(Thunnus albacares). The paper reviews available catch, effort and biological data, estimates some population parameters in order to understand the status of the Atlantic yellowfin tuna as a whole. The main findings are summarized as follows: 1. The total of 476 million hook-equivalent fishing effort was thrown to catch yellowfin tuna in 1974, among which one thired was shared by longliners. 2. The dominant age group becomes younger in both surface and longline fisheries. 3. The recent mortality coefficients were calculated as 1.5 for total mortality and 0.7 for fishing mortality. 4. The weight at recruitment was 2.7 kg in 1973 which was smaller than the regulation size(3.2kg) proposed by ICCAT. 5. The maximum sustained yield was calculated to 95-145 thousand metric tons, which was the level of recent catch. Therefore, it is apparent that the present yellowfin tuna fishery should continue to receive close attention.

  • 최근 우리나라 연안어업은 한일, 한중어업협정, WTO 가입 등으로 주변 환경이 급격하게 변화되는 한편, 연근해 어자원의 감소와 근해어업과의 경쟁조업 등으로 인해 경영수지가 극도로 악화되고 있다. 이로 인해 연안어민들의 최소 생계기반 마저 위협받고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 연안어업의 수익향상과 자원관리 측면에서 경제성 연안 어선의 선형개발 방안을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 새로운 어선어업 환경에서 요구하는 자원관리, 채산성보장 등의 경제 사회적 요건을 기술적 요소로 변환하여 다목적어선의 개념을 설정하고 관련 기초자료를 마련하였다. 특히, 연안어업을 동해, 서해, 남해, 서남해 등으로 나누어 허가업종의 실태와 어민 요구사항이 서로 다른 점을 감안하여 다목적화 가능 업종을 선정하고, 선형개발 방안을 도출, 정리하였다.

The effects on the size selectivity for Muraensox cinereus, daggertooth pike conger in the coastal longline fishery (연안연승에서 어획되는 갯장어의 크기 선택성에 미치는 효과 분석)

  • The effects on the size selectivity for Muraenesox cinereus caught by coastal longline fishery were investigated in the southern coast of Korea from June 2 to 17, 2019. Four sizes of hooks (sizes 15, 17, 18 and 19) and two sizes of bait (sizes 9.9 g and 18.3 g) were tested in seven and three fishing trials, respectively. Such results revealed that smaller hook and bait size improved capture efficiency. And our results demonstrate that there was no significant size selectivity effect for hook size (ANOVA, p>0.05), but small bait improved on catching smaller fish (ANOVA, p<0.05).

Effect of Artificial Fish Reefs in the Costal Area of Jeon Bug Province (전라북도연안 인공어초의 효과에 대한 연구)

  • Most of artificial reefs in the examined areas were normally established except for some lower parts demersed slightly, and some to function. 1) Twenty species of fish were captured by fishing gear, and 10 species were observed by scuba in the examined areas. 2) Five algal and five fisheries animal species were observed as fouling organism. 3) C.P.U.E of trap, long liner and gill netter in the examined areas was respectively 2.12, 10.23, and 4.93, where as that in contral was established as 1.41, 4.43 and 2.86. 4) Species composition by the fishing gear the trap, long liner and gill netter in the examind areas was respectively 94, 85 and 118, where as that in control was established as 58, 37 and 62. Accordingly, The fishing effects in the artificial reefs installation sector was two times higher than comparative sector.

The Characteristics of Commercial Fisheries of the Oregon, USA (미국 오레곤주의 수산업 특성)

  • 본 연구는 미국 오레곤주의 수산업 특성을 개괄적으로 살펴본 것이다. 먼저, 오레곤의 상업적 수산업을 역사적으로 살펴보면 2가지 주요한 계기가 있음을 알 수 있다. 첫째는 자급자족 차원에서의 연어생산을 수출품으로 변화시킨 연어통조림 생산기술의 발전이고, 둘째는 현대식 트롤어업이 도입된 점이다. 오레곤에서 주로 사용되는 어구ㆍ어법은 트롤, 채낚기, 연승, 통발, 형망 등이며, 생산어종은 연어, 게, 새우, 참치, 대구 등이다. 1995년 오레곤은 약 2억 4천 파운드의 수산물을 생산하여 미국 연안주중에서 6위를 차지하고 있고, 생산금액에서는 12위를 기록하였다. 한편, 양식업은 아직 성행하지 않아 그 생산품종 및 생산량은 미미한 실정이다. 그 주된 이유 중의 하나는 양식시설을 하기 위해서는 여러 관계기관의 허가를 필요로 하는 등 행정상의 절차가 복잡하기 때문이다. 오레곤의 수산자원관리는 우리나라에 비해 암계의 어획금지, 통발 등 정치어구ㆍ어법에 대한 인망일수의 제한, 조개류의 판매가능시간의 제한 등 몇가지 특징을 들 수 있다. 오레곤의 수산업관리제도(연안으로부터 3마일 이내)를 살펴보면, 아직 TAG제도를 도입하지 않고 있으며 생산요소역입제한방식이 채택되고 있다. 즉, 상업적으로 허용된 어종을 어획하려는 어업자는 등록절차를 필히 거쳐야 어업행위를 할 수 있으며, 등록수를 제한할 필요가 있는 특정한 어업(연어, 새우, 가리비 등)에 대해서는 행정관청으로부터 허가를 얻고 어업행위를 해야 한다. 즉, 허가어업은 등록어업보다 더욱 제한적인 어업행위를 말하며, 허가권에 대해서는 자유로운 매매양도가 허용되어 있다. 수산물의 마케팅시스템에 대해서는 우리나라에 지배적인 형태인 경매제도가 도입되어 있지 않다. 즉, 모든 수산물은 개인적인 거래계약에 의해서 유통된다. 다만 마케팅경로에 참여하고 있는 모든 구성원은 일정한 등록절차를 마쳐야 하며, 주내에서 거래되는 수산물의 일관된 통제나 관리를 위해 관계기관에 거래량을 필히 신고해야 한다. 우리나라의 중도매인은 주로 생산지의 수협(또는 내륙지 도매법인)과 도매상의 사이에 존재하나 오레곤의 중도매인은 마케팅경로 어디에든 존재하고 있다.

Ecological Studies On The Growth Of Transplanted Oyster, Crassostrea gigas (Thunberg) From Southern Coast Of Korea (남해산 참굴 Crassostrea gigas(Thunberg)의 이식성장에 관한 생태학적 연구)

  • The seed of Japaness oyster, Crassostrea gigas(Thunberg), cultivated along the southerncoast of Korea have been transplanted and cultivated in both the Seonyu island and the Eocheong island of the western coast of Korea. The present study was carried out to investigate the growth of transplanted oysters, environmental factors influencing their fatness, and differences of two areas between the Seonyu island and the Eocheong island during the period from April to November, 1978. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Maximum height of the shell was 69.2mm (58.4mm on the average) in the island of Seonyu and 64.8mm(53.2mm) in the island of Eocheong, respectively. 2. The fatness of the oysters measured in the island of Seonyu (5.2g/month) was greater than in the island of Eocheong (2.5g/month) 3. The shell height was increased with high temperature while, the shell fatness with low temperature. 4. The growth rate of the transplanted seed oysters was twice as much as that of native ones in the western coast of Korea. 5. Environmental conditions of Seonyu island were more favorable in cultivating oysters than those of the Eocheong island.

Allocation of the skipper's attention depending on the longline fishing process of the coastal composite fishing vessel (연안복합어선의 연승조업과정에 따른 선장의 주의 배분)

  • This study analyzed the allocation of the skipper's attention during fishing operation in the wheelhouse of a Korean coastal composite fishing vessel by using video observation. To summarize the results, the ratio of lookout, radar and GPS monitoring, which is essential for prevention of collision at sea, was significantly lower than that of other fishing operation due to the attention concentration on the work place during hauling line. In order to reduce exposure to risk of collisions due to concentration of attention to certain tasks such as line hauling, it is necessary to develop an alert system that can notify the approach of other ships or obstruction throughout the ship using information from radar or the automatic identification system. In addition, the order of attention allocation to devices and facilities obtained in this study is expected to be used as basic data for device or facility layout based on the principle of usage frequency in designing wheelhouse for coastal composite fishing vessels in the future.

The effect of hooking on thickness and length of branch line in fishing gear of long line at the coastal waters (연안 연승어구에 있어서 아릿줄의 굵기와 길이가 조획에 미치는 영향)

  • As a basic study to improve hooking ability of long line fishing gear, which is widely used around Jeju-do coast, the researcher performed hooking experiment of parrot fish by manufacturing and installing 7 kinds of model long line fishing gears, whose thickness of branch line are different and 8 kinds of model long line fishing gear, whose length of branch line are different, in indoor circular aquarium, which is installed for the model experiment of thickness and length of branch line that are various by fishing implement and improper. The hooking rate depending on thickness and length of branch line was calculated and the effect of thickness and length of branch line on hooking rate was analyzed. Its results are as follows. When branch line was thin and long, high hooking rate appeared. In the scope of value setting, the relationship between thickness ($B_t$) of branch line and total hooking rate ($Th_r$) can be shown as following formula as. In the scope of value setting, the relationship between length ($B_t$) of branch line and total hooking rate ($B_t$) can be shown as $Th_r=-20.83B_t+26.04$. Through Pearson correlation analysis, the coefficient of correlation between thickness of branch line and hooking rate was -0.718. Therefore it showed significance in 0.01 significance level. Through Pearson correlation analysis, the coefficient of correlation between length of branch line and hooking rate was 0.431. Therefore it showed significance in 0.01 significance level.
