  • This paper is concerned with the thermo-mechanical behavior of steel sheet for an auto-body including temperature dependent strain rate sensitivity. In order to identify the temperature-dependent strain rate sensitivity of SPRC35R, SPRC45E and TRIP60, uniaxial tensile tests are performed with the variation of the strain rates from 0.001/sec to 200/sec and the variation of environmental temperatures from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. The thermo-mechanical response at the quasi-static state is obtained from the static tensile test and that at the intermediate strain rate is obtained from the high speed tensile test. Experimental results show that the variation of the flow stress and fracture elongation becomes sensitive to the temperature as the strain rate increases. It is observed that the dynamic strain aging occurs with TRIP60 at the temperature above $150^{\circ}C$. Results also indicate that the flow stress and tincture elongation of SPRC35R are more dependent on the changes of strain rates and temperature than those of SPRC45E and TRIP60.

  • National Competency Standards(NCS) is to systemize the competency that is necessary for performing duties in industrial fields and to utilize synthetically duty, vocational education training, and qualification at the national level. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of NCS development and verification, which systemizes competency units and competency unit elements through the analysis of duty in pattern field. It is to cultivate competent people to be able to promote the development of pattern industry ultimately through being a complementary to educational circles and industry then to give them practical knowledge that is demanded in the field. Furthermore, it is to be utilized as a fundamental data for reforming the system of duty competency evaluation so as to manage personnel career systematically and to improve their competency. Focus Group Interview(FGI) was adapted as the method of this study, which was proceeded 3 times, and validity of the drawn result is verified through expert questionnaire survey. Research result, which is competency units, is 10 as follows; Fit trend analysis, Analysis of sample garment Specification sheet, Pattern making for sample garment, Pattern making for manufacturing garment, Creation of sewing specification, Instruction of manufacturing technique, Sample garment Inspection for quality control, Grading, Calculation of the required material quantities, Quality control.

Dissimilar Friction Welding of Engine Exhaustive Valve and High Temperature Creep Prediction and Their Real-Time Evaluation by AE (엔진배기밸브의 내열강 이종재 마찰용접의 최적화와 고온 크리프의 실시간 예측 및 AE에 의한 실시간 평가)

  • The engine exhaustive valve became essential as the important element. The dissimmilar welding method of exhaustive valve head to stem was asked for manufacturing the engine exhaustive valve, for which the electric resistance are welding has been conventionally used, resulting in poor quality of the welded joint. In this paper, not only the development of optimizing of friction welding with more reliability and more applicability but also the development of in-process real-time weld qudlity(such as strength and toughness) evaluation technique by acoustic emission for friction welding of the engine exhaustive valve(SUH3-SUH35 dissimilar steels) were perfomed. The high temperature(500, 500, 600$^{circ}$C) creep properties prediction of the friction welded joint of SUH3-SUH35 was investigated relating to the initial strain meethod(ISM) as a new approach, resulting in obtaining an experimental equation of creep life prediction.

The Effect of Mn Content Solution-treatment Temperatures on Insoluble Phases in Al-Li-Cu-Mg-Mn-Zr Alloys (Al-Li-Cu-Mg-Zr 합금의 미고용상에 미치는 용체화 처리 및 Mn 함량의 영향)

  • Large insoluble phases and dispersoids in Al-Li-Cu-Mg-Mn-Zr alloys containing Mn were analyzed with EPMA(Electron Probe Microanalyzer) and SAEM(Scanning Auger Electron Microscope). Morphology, distribution and volume fraction of the large insoluble phase were also analyzed quantitatively by optical microscopy. Mechanical properties were tested at room temperature and at $200^{\circ}C$. With increasing Mn contents, the volume fraction of the large insoluble phases increased steeply, thus decreasing ductility. Mn was found to be very effective for obtaing uniformly distributed fine-grain structures. The alloy containing 0.44 wt% Mn showed the highest tensile strength among Mn-bearing alloys tested.

  • 용탕단조방법에 의해 제조된 Mg-6Al-xZn(x=0, 1, 2)합금의 기계적 성질에 미치는 시효열처리의 영향을 조사한결과 아래와 같은 결론을 얻었다. (1) 주조조직을 관찰한 결과 미세한 수지상조직을 나타냈으며 초정${\alpha}$, 과포화 ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$상 등 세가지 상으로 구성되어 있었다. (2) Mg-6Al-xZn합금은 시효경화성을 나타내었으며 Zn의 첨가량이 증가할수록 전시효구간에서 경도값이 높게 나타났다. (3) 시효조직을 관찰한 결과 $200^{\circ}C$의 시효시에는 불연속 석출물이 대부분 차지했으나 $240^{\circ}C$의 시효온도에서는 수지상 경계에서 시작되는 미세분산된 연속석출물이 대부분 이었다. (4) $240^{\circ}C$에서 시효열처리 한 시편은 연속석출물이 석출됨으로서 $200^{\circ}C$에서의 시효열처리된 시편에 비하여 과시효되는 경향이 작았다. (5) T6열처리 후 인장시험 결과 Zn 첨가량에 따라 강도가 증가하였는데 Mg-6Al-2Zn합금의 경우 인장강도는 248.4 MPa을 나타내었으며 Zn양에 따른 연신율의 감소는 나타나지 않았다.

  • The block copolymers were prepared by the ring opening polymerizati on of DL-lactide by poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with diethylzinc (ZnE$_2$) as a catalyst. When the feed ratio of PEO was over 30% relative to DL-lactide, the polymerization of DL-lactide took place from the PEO hydroxyl terminals to provide the desired A -B-A or A-B block copolymer. The block copolymers were made of films by cast method and the films obtained was drawn to 2.5 times at 60 $\^{C}$. At the same draw ratio, the tensile modulus of the films was decreased with increasing PEO content in the block copolymers. It was therefore suggested that the block copolymers comprising of PDLLA and PEO, had high potentials as the biomaterials with improved flexibility.

  • The induction mechanisms of planar arrangements in cholesteric liquid crystals (CLC) which showed selective reflections of visible light were investigated by measuring the selective reflectivity and FTIR peak intensity of $C{\equiv}N$ stretching band. Although the planar arrangement of CLC was not as perfectly induced as the cases prepared with using alignment layers, it could be also induced by stretching polymer substrate or by applying shear forces. The planar arrangements were induced by forming CLC helical structures on top of liquid crystal molecules which were in contact with the substrate and oriented all in the same direction.

  • 용탕단조법에 의해 제조된 Mg-9AI-2Zn 합금을 미세조직관찰, 미소경도측정, 인장시험 등을 행하여 시효거동과 기계적 성질을 조사하였다. 용탕에 가압을 한 결과 주조결함이 제거된 미세한 주조조직을 얻었으며 미세조직은 초정 $\alpha$(Mg 고용체), 과포화고용체 $\alpha$상 및 $\beta$(Mg$_{17}$AI$_{12}$)화합물의 3가지 상으로 구성되어 있었다. 16$0^{\circ}C$및 20$0^{\circ}C$에서 시효열처리한 결과 $\beta$석출물에 의한 피크 경도값이 나타났으며 피크경도에서의 석출물의 형태는 lamella 형태의 불연속 석출물이 대부분이었고 과시효에 따라 불연속석출물의 조대화와 함께 연속석출물의 분율이 증가하였다. 용탕단조방법에 의해 제조된 Mg-9AI-2Zn 합금의 인장특성은 인장강도 261.4MPa, 연산율 7.6%로서 상용 AZ 92 합금보다 인장강도 및 연신율에서 우수한 기계적 성질을 가졌는데 이는 Zn의 고용강화 및 용탕의 가압에 의한 효과였다.다.

  • The casting defects that are caused by molten metal were cold shut formation, entrapment of air, gas, and inclusion. But the control of casting defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers. In this thesis, the computer simulation analyzed the flow of molten metal. The quantitative analyses which proposed the effective mold design was executed Flow patterns of 0.15-0.16m/s molten metal in 15 mm thin plate casting were investigated in order to optimize die-casting process. As increasing ingate velocity in thin plate casting, cold shot was decreased. The parameters of runner shape that affected on the optimized conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. These die casting process control techniques of automobile valve body mid-plate have achieved good agreement with the experimental data of tensile strength, hardness test, and material structure photographies satisfactory results.

A Study On Crystalline Structure Change by Isothermally Annealed after Elevated heating of drawn PP filaments (연신한 PP filament의 승온열처리에 의한 결정구조 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The change of crystalline structure of drawn PP filaments were investigated. Samples were treated by isothermally annealed after elevated heating from $20^{\circ}C$. Measurements were carried out with XRD for crystallite size and density gradient tube for crystallinity. Isothermally heat treatment were carried out at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$, $120^{\circ}C$ and $140^{\circ}C$ for 10min., 30min. and 60min. in dry oven. The isothermal heat treatment after elevated heating from $20^{\circ}C$ were carried out at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$, $120^{\circ}C$ and $140^{\circ}C$ for 10min., 30min. and 60min. with heating rate of $1^{\circ}C$/min., $5^{\circ}C$/min. and $10^{\circ}C$/min. From the results of this study, it found the following facts. It was found that the crystallinity and crystallite size of (110) plane of sample were increased with increasing of annealed temperature and time. Also crystallinity and crystallite size of samples which were isothermally annealed after elevated heating from $20^{\circ}C$ were higher than those of isohtermally annealed samples.
