  • PP에 PE를 용융혼합하여 방사불안정성을 줄일수 있는 방사조건에 대한 연구를 수 행하였다. 연신공명에 대한 주파수 분석결과 harmonic overtone이 나타나고 연식공명의 주 기가 체류시간에 비례함을 밝혔다. PP에 PE를 혼합시킴으로써 연신공명을 줄일수 있었으나 PE가 연속상이 되는 PE함유량에서는 임계연신비보다 낮은 연신비에서 사절이 발생하였다. 또한 낮은 방사온도에서는 melt fracture 현상이 연신공명을 쉽게 일어나게 하는 용인으로 작용하여 PP/PE 혼합물의 방사 안정성을 저해하였다, 토출량이 같을 때 방사구 지름은 연 신공명의 Dmax/Dmax 값에 영향을 미치지 않았고 방사길이가 짧으면 임계연신비가 증가하였 다. 방사구 L/D가 클때에는 방사구 L/D가 연신공명에 영향을 미치지 않았으나 방사구 L/D 가 짧을 때에는 임계연신비가 크게 저하되었다.

Effect of Uniaxial Drawing Conditions on the Orientation of Poly (ethylene 2,6- naphthalate) (일축 연신 조건에 따른 Poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) 배향에 관한 연구)

  • The effects of uniaxial drawing conditions on the molecular orientation of poly (ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) are investigated. Birefringence measurements show that the orientation is significantly enhanced at high draw ratio, low drawing temperature, and fast drawing speed. The characteristics of orientation examined by FTIR- ATR dichroism method represent almost same results. Amorphous orientation function increases with drawing rate at $120^{\circ}C$, but it decreases with drawing rate at $141^{\circ}C$. These behaviors can be explained with the relation between crystallization and chain relaxation rates. It is observed that the orientation of PEN film is accompanied by significant alignment of the naphthalene rings of PEN parallel to the film surface.

  • 미연신, 비결정 PET 필름의 띠연신조건(띠연신 응력, 띠연신 온도, 띠열판의 상승속 도)에 따른 필름의거동을 연구하였다. 띠열판의 상승속도가 10, 20, 30, 50 mm/min일 때 온 도(Td) 이하에서는 임계네킹응력이 띠연신 온도가 증가함에 따라 급격히 감소하고 그 온도 이상에서는 거의 변하지 않고 일정했으며 임계온도 이하에서는 임계온도와 띠연신 온도의 온도차(Tc-Td)가 임계네킹응력과 비례관계를 가져 다음과 같은 간단한 실험식을 얻었다. $\sigma$c=0.838 (Tc-Td)+$\sigma$0 임계네킹응력에서 띠연신한 필름의 치수는 연신 온도와 띠열판의 상 승속도에 거의 의존하지 않고 일정한 값을 나타내었다. 임계네킹응력 이상에서는 연신 조건 에 따라 필름의 폭, 두께, 그리고 연신비가 거의 변하지 않았다.

  • Blend resin (PET/PETG 70/30 blend) of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly (ethylene terephthalate glycol) (PETG) of weight percent 70/30 was prepared by a twin-screw extruder. Undrawn films of the blend and pure PETG were made by melt-press in hot press. Drawn films were made by capillary rheometer. Crystallinity, shrinkage, thermal, dynamic mechanical, and mechanical properties of these blends and PETG drawn films were investigated by wide angle X-ray diffractometer, dry oven, DSC thermal analyzer, and tensile tester. The crystallinity and density of these films increased with increasing draw ratio and draw rate but decreased with increasing draw temperature. The crystallinity and density of the blend films were higher than those of PETG films. The tensile strength and tensile modulus of these drawn alms increased with increasing draw ratio and draw rate but decreased with increasing draw temperature. The tensile strength and tensile modulus of blend films were higher than those of PETG films. Shrinkage of PETG md blend films decreased with draw ratio and draw rate. Shrinkage of undrawn blend film was 600% higher than that of pure PET film.

  • PET/BPA copolymer of terephthalic acid, bisphenol-A and ethylene glycol was melt-pressed and quenched in ice water. This copolymer film was drawn by capillary rheometer. Shrinkage, crystallinity, morphology, thermal, dynamic mechanical, and mechanical properties of these copolymer films were investigated. The PET/BPA copolymer film exhibited T$_{m}$ lower than that of PET film. The crystallinity and density of these drawn copolymer films increased with draw ratio and draw rate but decreased with draw temperature. The tensile strength and tensile modulus of the copolymer films increased with draw ratio but decreased with draw temperature. Shrinkage of the drawn copolymer film decreased with draw ratio and draw rate.e.

  • 폴리프로필렌(PP)과 폴리에틸렌(PE)혼합물의 용융방사에 있어서 불안정성을 연구하 였으며 혼합물의 유변학적 성질, 혼합물의 형태학적 특성과 연신공명과의 관계를 고찰한 것 이다. 신장점도는 spinline rheometer를 사용하여 측정하여 섬유직경은 광센서를 이용하여 방사공정에서 on-line 측정하였고 연신공명의 주기는 Fourier 변환을 이용하여 분석하였다. PP와 PE혼합물의 용융방사에 있어서 PP 함유량이 많을수록 연신공명이 발생하는 임계연신 비가 줄어들고 그 주기는 길어진다. 정상상태에서 구한 유변학적 성질을 이용하여 Shah와 Pearson의 이론식과 Fisher와 Denn의 이론식으로부터 구한 임계연신비값이 실험치와 많은 차이를 보여주었다. 연신공명에 의하여 형성된 섬유의 가는 부분의 배향도는 굵은 부분에 비하여 크게 향상되었으며 PP 함유량이 많을수록 배향도가 크게 증가하였다.

  • Stretchable Polypyrrole films using functionalized doping agent, di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate sodium salt (NaDEHS), were synthesized by chemical and electrochemical method. Chemically and electrochemically Prepared Polypyrrole films were stretch-oriented (L/L$\_$0/= 1.0 ∼ 2.5) by zone drawing method and the electrical conductivities were measured. As the draw ratio was increased, the electrical conductivities were increased. This result was confirmed by the increase in crystallinity through the increase in draw ratio. The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity showed that 3D-variable range hopping model (L/L$\_$0/ = 1.0∼2.0) and ID-VRH model (L/L$\_$0/ = 2.5) gave the best fit to the data for stretched Ppy-DEHS films.

  • The stretching of synthetic fibers by hot dry process is very difficult, because these fibers have high glass transition temperature at above $150^{\circ}C$. But, we used a swell-wet stretching precess; the fibers are stretched in a swelling agent such as organic solvents at lower temperature. In this study, 100% acryl fibers were uniaxially stretched with free width at $70^{\circ}C$ by swell-wet process in organic solvents. The stretchability was estimated by stretching work. This work is concerned with stretching stress and strain, and initial modulus. We found that it is a good parameter for the estimatation of high strength to the acrylic fiber. The effects of stretching conditions on the molecular orientation for high strength and mechanical properties of PAN fibers were measured.

A Study on the Elongation of Polymer Extrusion Film (고분자압출필름의 연신에 관한 연구)

  • Optimization of process parameters in polymer extrusion is an important task to reduce manufacturing cost. To determine the optimum values of the process parameters, it is essential to find their influence on the elongation of polymer breathable thin film. The significance of six important process parameters namely, extruder cylinder temperature, extruder speed, extruder dies temperature, cooling roll temperature, stretching ratio, stretching roll temperature on breathable film elongation of polymer extrusion was determined. Moreover, this paper presents the application of Taguchi method and analysis of variance(ANOVA) for maximization of the breathable film elongation influenced by extrusion parameters. The optimum parameter combination of extrusion process was obtained by using the analysis of signal-to-noise ratio. The conclusion revealed that stretching ratio were the most influential factor on the film elongation. The best results of film elongation were obtained at lower stretching ratio.

  • The effects of drawing temperature and draw down ratio on thermal properties, crystallinity and orientation of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PTT/PET) 100/0 ,90/10, and 80/20 blends have been investigated. The crystallinity and glass transition temperature increased while cold crystallization temperature and cold enthalpy decreased due to the development of orientation and stress induced crystallization by the cord drawing. Introducing PET to PTT decreased the crystallinity of PTT. However, it enhanced the orientation of PTT/PET blends drawn at below the glass transition temperature of PET. This lead to the increase of tensile modulus and tensile strength of PTT/PET blends. The shrinkage increased with increasing orientation, which might be minimized by the development of crystalline morphology of PTT in the course of cold drawing.
