In this study, an experimental investigation is performed for evaluation of a liquid pool spreading model with continuous release. The model considered in this study was developed based on a concept which means that the liquid pool spreading is governed by a balance between an inertia force from gravity and a frictional force from friction with the ground under the whole base of the liquid pool. For evaluation of the model, experimental study is performed. Experimental apparatus is setup for measuring release rate, spreading velocity, and evaporation rate from a liquid pool. The experimental results are compared with results from the model. By applying release and evaporation rates obtained from experiments to solving the model, liquid pool radius variation according to time can be obtained. For evaluation of an effect of friction force in the spreading model, results obtained from the models with and without the friction force are compared with those obtained from the experiments. As a result, it is shown that there exists a large deviation between the results obtained from the model without the friction force and the experimental results. On the other hand, the tendency of liquid pool radius variation according to time is similar between the results obtained from the model without the friction force and the experimental results.
To evaluate the risk of leakage when using liquid hydrogen, a leakage test was conducted using liquid nitrogen in an outdoor environment rather than a laboratory environment. To assume a real-scale continuous leak, liquid nitrogen was allowed to leak for 5 minutes through a pipe with a diameter of 25.4 mm at a design spill rate of 60 L/min. The measurement system consisted of devices for climate conditions, LN2 spread and vapor clouds. The main experimental results are the liquid pool radius and the concentration of vapor cloud, and the radius of the liquid pool was compared with the numerical analysis results.

A continuous hollow fiber membrane reactor(CHFMR) was developed and optimized for the production of yellowfin sole(Limanda aspera) skin gelatin hydrolysates using trypsin. The results were summerized as follows: The $K_m$ value of the CHFMR was 2.4 times higher than that of the batch reactor, indicating reduced enzyme affinity for the substrate. The $K_2$ value of the CHFMR was 8.5 times lower than that of the batch process, showing a significant reduction in trypsin activity in the CHFMR. The optimum operating conditions for the CHFMR process were $55^{\circ}C$, pH 9.0, flux 7.79 ml/min, residence time 77min, and trypsin to substrate ratio, 0.01(w/w) After operating for 60min under the above conditions, $79\%$ of the total amount of initial gelatin was hydrolysed. Enzyme leakage was observed through the 10,000 MWCO membrane after the 20min of reactor operation, while none occurred after 5hr. Total enzyme leakage was about $12.95\%$ at $55^{\circ}C$ for 5hrs. However, there was no apparent correlation between enzyme leakage and substrate hydrolysis. The membrane has a significant effect on trypsin activity loss for 60min of the CHFMR operation. The CHFMR operating with the membrane lost $34\%$ of the initial activity versus a $23\%$ loss of activity after 3hr in the continuous reactor lacking the hollow fiber membrane. The measurement of fouling property showed that relative flux reduction was $91\%$ and flux recover rate was $92\%$ at $10\%$ substrate solution. The productivity(378.85mg product/mg enzyme) of the CHFMR was more than 4 times higher than that of the batch reactor at $55^{\circ}C$.
We experienced a case of aneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva dissecting into the ventricular dseptum. This dissection was induced by paravalvular leakage after aortic and mitral valve replacement. This 37-year-old male was admitted via emergence room due to progressive dyspnea. He had undergone aortic valve replacement(carbomed c" 23 mm) and mitral valve replacement(carbomedic 31 mm) due to aortic regurgitation and mitral regurgitation about 6 years prior to admission and followed up regularly. The diagnosis was made by transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and reconfirmed by root aortography. The inlet of the ventricular septal aneurysmal sac was repaired by one layer suture with 3-0 prolene of the endocardium, epicardium and homograft muscle shoulder altogether. Postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged on the 11th postoperative day. day.
Recent development in wireless communication technology, like GPS, and mobile equipments, like PDA and cellular phone, make location-based services (LBSs) popular. However, because, users continuously request a query to a server in the LBSs by using their exact locations, privacy information could be in danger. Therefore, a mechanism for users' privacy protection is required for the safe and comfortable use of LBSs by mobile users. For this, we, in this paper, propose a grid-based cloaking area creation scheme supporting continuous LBSs in peer-to-peer environment. The proposed scheme creates a cloaking area by using Chord protocol, so as to support the continuous LBSs in peer-to-peer environment. Finally, we show from a performance analysis that our cloaking scheme outperforms the existing cloaking schemes, in terms of service time.

Therefore, a mechanism for users' privacy protection is required for the safe and comfortable use of LBSs by mobile users. For this, this paper propose a grid-based cloaking area creation scheme supporting continuous LBSs. The proposed scheme creates a cloaking area rapidly by using grid-based cell expansion to efficiently support the continuous LBSs. In addition, to generate a cloaking area which makes the exposure probability of a mobile user to a minimum, we compute a privacy protection degree by granting weights to mobile users. Finally, we show from a performance analysis that our cloaking scheme outperforms the existing cloaking schemes, in terms of service time, privacy protection degree.

This study focuses on modeling the impact of ammonia leakage from the storage tank in a combined cycle power plant's flue gas denitrification facility. It employs accident impact assessments and diffusion models to determine the optimal scenarios for ammonia storage tank leakage accidents. The study considers the operating conditions of variables as standard conditions for predicting the extent of damage. The Taean combined cycle power plant is chosen as the target area, taking into account seasonal factors such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, atmospheric stability, and wind direction. By utilizing a Gaussian diffusion model, the concentration of ammonia gas at various locations is estimated to assess the potential extent of external damage resulting from a leak. The study reveals that in conditions of high temperature and stable atmosphere within the specified range, lower wind speeds contribute to increased damage to the human body due to ammonia diffusion.

Various leaching tests were applied to the soil affected by accidental leakage of HF in an industrial area in Korea. Three different leaching methods including pH-stat, continuous batch leaching, and column tests were adopted to assess leaching characteristics and mobility of fluorine(F) in soil and the potential risks to ecosystem. Both natural and spiked samples were used for the leaching tests. F concentrations in the batch tests increased by leaching rapidly in the early stage of leaching and then maintained rather constant levels. Column leaching test also show similar result to that of the batch test. pH also controlled the leaching behavior of the soil. With increasing pH, more F was released in the pH-stat test. This is mainly due to the competition and exchange with hydroxyl ions, as pH increase to the alkaline range. Most of the F released by the accident seem to have removed in the very early stage of leaching, whereas some natural proportion from soil minerals are thought to have been released very slowly. Therefore, little F released during the accident remained, based on the results of this study on the samples after two years of the accident. We could conclude that soil contaminated by external effects such as chemical accidents should be managed immediately, especially with F.
This paper presents a 'consequence analysis' for vapor cloud explosions caused by heavy gas leakages from commercially used storage tanks at petrochemical plants. Particularly, this paper emphasizes on evaluating the results of various vapor cloud explosion accidents from Butane storage tanks. Also this paper analyses the impact of variables on the accidents in order to acquire the optimum conditions for variables. $SuperChems^{TM}$ Professional Edition was applied to analyse the impact (If atmospheric and other variables in the situation where vapor cloud continuously disperses from the ground level. Under the assumption that practical operating conditions are selected as a standard condition, and Butane leaks from the storage tank for 15 minutes, the results show that the maximum distance of LFL (Lower Flammable Limit) was 52 meters and overpressure by the vapor cloud explosion was 1 psi at 128.2 meters. It is observed that the impact of the variables on accidental Butane storage tank leakage mainly varied upon atmospheric stability, wind velocity, pipe line size, visible length, etc., and changes in the simulation result occurred as the variables varied. The maximum distance of the LFL (Lower Flammable Limit) increased as the visible length became shorter, the size of the leak became larger, the wind velocity was decreased, and the climatic conditions became more stable. Thus, by analysing the variables that influence the simulation results of explosions of Butane storage tanks containing heavy gases, I am presenting the most appropriate method for 'consequence analysis' and the selection of standards for suitable values of variables, to obtain the most optimal conditions for the best results.
For the unconfined vapor cloud explosion(UVCE) accident by the continuous release of gas-liquid flow of various saturated liquids in a vessel at ground level, overpressures were estimated by TNT equivalency model with two estimation methods, such as UVCE I model based on a constant release time and UVCEII model based on a real travel time of vapor by dispersion and analyzed with various release conditions. As a simulation result the simple, easy, and correct method of evaluation of consequences of the UVCE accident was proposed by using consequences of UVCE I model and correlation equations for differences of overpressures between UVCE models, so that this evaluation method could be used easily in the small and medium size enterprises without using the dispersion model.
