Dynamic Behavior Analysis of the Auto-leveling System for Large Scale Transporter Type Platform Equipment on the Ground Slope (경사지에서 운용 가능한 대형 차량형 플랫폼 장비 자동수평조절장치의 동적 거동)

  • To identify the dynamic characteristics of the Auto-leveling system applied to the Tractor-Trailer type Transporter for mounting a large scale precision equipment, Dynamics Modeling & Simulation were performed using general Dynamics Analysis Program - RecurDyn(V9R2). The axial load data, transverse load data and pad trace data of leveling actuators were obtained from M&S. And they were analyzed and compared with each other by parameters, i.e. friction coefficients on the ground, landing ram speed of actuators, and direction & quantity of ground slope. It was observed that ground contact friction coefficients affected to transverse load and pad trace; the landing ram speed of actuators to both amplitude of axial & transverse load, and this phenomena was able to explain from the frequency analysis of the axial load data; the direction of ground slope to driving sequence of landing ram of actuators. But the dynamic behaviors on the two-directional slope were very different from them on the one-directional slope and more complex.

Association of genetic polymorphism in fatty acid synthase with BodyFat and fatty acid composition in Hanwoo (한우 FASN 유전자변이와 한우 지방형질 및 지방산조성과의 연관성 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the polymorphism on fatty acid synthase (FASN) gene and its association with fat traits and fatty acid composition in Hanwoo. We genotyped a SNP (g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A) detected in Exon34 of FASN on 90 Hanwoo steers by PCR RFLP. A linear mixed model revealed an association of g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A with total body fat contents (P=0.006), while there is no significant effect between g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A and other traits (IMF, BF and fatty acid composition). Regression coefficient and $R^2$ of the SNP was -1.5 kg and 0.36 in this anslysis. Expecially, AA type of g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A bas a less amount of body fat (1.5 kg) than GG type of the SNP in Hanwoo. In conclusion, this study indicates an important role for FASN gene in determining body fat content in Hanwoo.

Effect of microorganisms collected from uterus of Hanwoo cattle with low conception rate on the development of IVF-derived embryos (저수태 한우 암소 자궁에서 회수된 미생물이 체외수정란 발달율에 미치는 영향)

  • The cause of infertility is either fertilization failure or early embryonic death. The aetiology may involve a combination of many factors, e.g. genetic factors, abnormalities in the gametes nutritional disorders, inadequate luteal function, and delayed ovulation. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of microorganisms collected from uterus of Hanwoo cattle on early embryonic development. Microorganisms isolated from the uterus of Hanwoo cattle included Bacillus cereus (Bc), Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), Staphylococcus warneri (Sw) and Enterococcus faecalis (Ef). When cultured with Bc, Bt, Sw, and Ef, oocytes were not developed into a blastocyst in vitro. The proportion of blastocyst was dramatically increased after reducing the number of microorganisms ($10^4CFU/ml$). Interestingly, the proportion of blastocyst was decreased by adding the Sw and Ef. These results indicate that among intrauterine microorganisms, Sw and Ef strains negatively affect theearly embryonic development, thereby aggravate the rates of implantation and pregnancy. These findings will provide useful information for association studies in other pig populations.

Antioxidant and Cytotoxicity in Skin Cell of the Trichosanthis Cucumeroidis Radix Extract (쥐참외뿌리 추출물의 항산화 및 피부 세포에서의 세포 독성 연구)

  • We tried to check the antioxidant activity and toxicity of trichosanthis cucumeroidis radix extracts in skin cells, and check the possibility of their use as a functional material that can be effectively used on the skin. Total polyphenol and total flavonoid content, which are indicators of antioxidant activity of trichosanthis cucumeroidis radix extracts, were confirmed, and cytotoxicity was confirmed using Neutral red assay in the skin. As a result of the study, the content of total polyphenols and total flavonoids increased concentration-dependent. High survival rates in fibroblast HDF cells were identified, and cell survival rates were significantly lowered from 5 ㎍/mL in melanocytes B16F10 melanoma cells and inflammation-related macrophages RAW 264.7 cells. He results of this study are believed to be available as basic data for antioxidant activity of trichosanthis cucumeroidis radix extracts and skin cells.

A Study on the Evaluation of Cosmetic Stability of Broccoli Extracts (브로콜리 추출물의 화장품 안정성 평가 연구)

  • This study compared antioxidant activity through DPPH radical scavenging activity of broccoli extract, low temperature (5℃ or less), and high temperature (50℃ or higher) storage conditions. As a result of the experiment, high DPPH radical scavenging activity of 95.5% was confirmed at 1% concentration of broccoli extract, and antioxidant power was maintained at a high level even under storage conditions due to temperature changes. Even cream containing 5% broccoli extract has been confirmed to maintain safety and stability in both preparation stability, discoloration and odor change, pH, and primary adhesion tests. Through these studies, it has been confirmed that broccoli extract is a safe and effective cosmetic material for the skin through high antioxidant activity and antioxidant power maintenance due to temperature changes.

Geological Structures of the Southern Jecheon, Korea: Uplift Process of Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex and Its Implication (옥천대 제천 남부의 지질구조: 당두산변성암복합체의 상승과정과 그 의미)

  • Keumseong area in the southern part of the Jecheon city, the Ogcheon Belt, consists of Precambrian Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex, Dori Formation of the Choseon Supergroup, and Jurassic Jecheon Granite. The Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex consists of quartz schist, mica schist. quartzite and pegmatite. The Dori Formation is composed of mainly laminated limestone. The rocks in the study area have been undergone at least three phases of deformations since Paleozoic period. The Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex is outcrop at three areas in the study area, which are exposed along the faults and occurred as inlier within the Dori Formation. Previous authors interpreted the uplift of the Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex by the Dangdusan Fault, but we could not find any evidences related to the Dangdusan Fault. Thus, we interpret the uplift of the Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex due to the D$_2$ Weolgulri and Dangdusan thrusts and post-D$_2$ Jungbodeul, Kokyo and Jungjeonri faults. The uplift of the Busan Metamorphic Complex to the west of the study area was interpreted by ductile deformation. However, the Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex is formed by brittle thrusts and faults in this study. According to deformation sequence, the characters of deformations in the Choseon and Ogcheon suprergroups had been changed from ductile to brittle deformations through the time. Therefore, we interpret the Dangdusan Metamorphic Complex is exposed later than the Busan Metamorphic Complex.

  • 도로는 국내 물류를 담당하는 중요한 기반시설로 국내 경제성장의 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있다. 특히, 1970년대 개통된 경부고속도로는 우리나라의 대동맥으로 산업 성장의 파급효과를 가져오는 기반이 되었고, 공학적인 차원에서도 도로 포장재료를 경험 및 과학적으로 분석하여 적용하는 계기로 도로공학발전의 초석이 되었다. 과거에 적용된 도로 포장재료는 기술자의 경험에 의존하여 배합설계가 진행되었으며, 중차량의 비중이 많은 지역은 강성포장을 적용하고, 상대적으로 중차량이 적은 구간은 연성포장을 적용하는 설계를 따랐다. 하지만, 강성포장을 대표하는 시멘트 콘크리트 포장은 시공상의 복잡함과 시멘트 콘크리트 특성상 강도발현을 위해서 일정기간 이상의 양생일수가 필요하므로, 도로건설의 인프라 구축이 시급한 지역에서는 사용의 제약이 따른다. 연성포장을 대표적하는 재료로는 아스팔트 콘크리트 포장을 들 수 있다. 강성포장보다는 상대적으로 시공상의 편리함과 일정기간의 양생이 필요하지 않아 도로 포장재료로서 그 적용성이 우수하다. 과거에는 아스팔트 콘크리트 포장의 종류가 단순화되어 표층, 기층에 대표되는 몇몇 혼합물이 도로 포장재료로 사용되었다. 도로공학의 학문적 발달과 함께 도로포장의 전반적인 기술이 향상되고 있다. 과거의 도로 기능은 국가 경제발전을 위한 산업용 원자재의 운반이 주요 기능을 담당하고 있는 반면, 국민의 경제적 수준이 증대되고 자가용의 보급이 보편화되면서 도로 이용의 주체가 국민 개개인으로 변화되고 있고, 그 요구조건도 다양화되고 있다. 이에 발맞추어 도로공학의 기술적 향상으로 다양한 기능을 발휘할 수 있는 도로포장재료가 개발되고 있으며, 대표적인 제품으로는 배수성 포장, 반강성 포장, 보수성 포장, 탄성 포장, 저소음 포장 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기능성 포장의 하나인 저소음 포장의 특성 중 생산성능을 평가하였다. 생산성능이란 저소음포장을 현장 플랜트에서 생산하였을 경우의 특성을 분석하는 과정으로, 실내 실험으로 최적화된 재료의 배합은 이상적인 조건을 적용하여 결정된 것으로 입고된 현장 골재 및 생산 플랜트 조건에 따른 그 배합 및 물성이 변동을 가져올 수 있다. 특히, 저소음 포장은 기존의 아스팔트 포장과 달리 적용되는 골재, 아스팔트의 재료가 고성능을 발휘하기 위하여 특수한 재료를 적용해야 한다. 배합설계에서도 개립도 아스팔트 혼합물에 적용되는 내구성분석 절차를 따라야 하므로, 실내 배합설계 혼합물과 현장 생산 혼합물간의 물리적 특성에 차이를 나타낼 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 실내 및 현장 혼합물의 전반적인 물리적 특성의 차이를 분석하여 저소음 포장의 현장 생산성능을 확인하였다. 분석요소로는 혼합물의 기초물성면에서는 밀도, 공극률을 분석하였으며, 실내 내구성면에서는 마샬안정도, 잔류안정도를 분석하여 실내 및 현장 혼합물의 물성차이를 분석하였다. 기초물성을 평가할 수 있는 밀도와 공극률에서는 생산 현장 혼합물이 실내 혼합물 보다 높은 밀도와 낮은 공극률을 나타내고 있으며, 이에 상관하여 강도특성을 분석할 수 있는 마샬안정도도 생산 현장 혼합물이 다소 높은 강도를 발휘하였다. 또한, 수분에 대한 안정성을 평가하는 인자인 잔류 안정도에서는 실내 및 현장 혼합물 모두 우수한 성능을 발휘하였다.

An Overrun Control Method and its Synthesis Method for Real-Time Systems with Probabilistic Timing Constraints (확률적인 시간 제약 조건을 갖는 실시간 시스템을 위한 과실행 제어 및 합성 기법)

  • Soft real-time applications such as multimedia feature highly variable processor requirements and probabilistic guarantees on deadline misses, meaning that each task in the application meets its deadline with a given probability. Thus, for such soft real-time applications, a system designer may want to improve the system utilization by allocating to each task a processor time less than its worst-case requirement, as long as the imposed probabilistic timing constraint is met. In this case, however, we have to address how to schedule jobs of a task that require more than (or, overrun) the allocated processor time to the task. In this paper, to address the overrun problem, we propose an overrun control method, which probabilistically controls the execution of overrunning jobs. The proposed overrun control method probabilistically allows overrunning jobs to complete for better system utilization, and also probabilistically prevents the overrunning jobs from completing so that the required probabilistic timing constraint for each task can be met. In the paper, we show that the proposed method outperforms previous methods proposed in the literature in terms of the overall deadline miss ratio, and that it is possible to synthesize the scheduling parameters of our method so that all tasks can meet the given probabilistic timing constraints.

A Study on Flooding·Sinking Simulation for Cause Analysis of No. 501 Oryong Sinking Accident (제501 오룡호 침몰사고 원인분석을 위한 침수·침몰 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • Deep-sea fishing vessel No. 501 Oryong was fully flooded through its openings and sunk to the bottom of the sea due to the very rough sea weather on the way of evasion after a fishing operation in the Bearing Sea. As a result, many crew members died and/or were missing. In this study, a full-scale ship flooding sinking simulation was conducted, and the sinking process was analyzed for the precise and scientific investigation of the sinking accident using highly advanced Modeling & Simulation (M&S) system of Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) analysis technique. To objectively secure the weather and sea states during the sinking accident in the Bering Sea, time-based wind and wave simulation at the region of the sinking accident was carried out and analyzed, and the weather and sea states were realized by simulating the irregular strong wave and wind spectrums. Simulation scenarios were developed and full-scale ship and fluid (air & seawater) modeling was performed for the flooding sinking simulation, by investigating the hull form, structural arrangement & weight distribution, and exterior inflow openings and interior flooding paths through its drawings, and by estimating the main tank capacities and their loading status. It was confirmed that the flooding and sinking accident was slightly different from a general capsize and sinking accident according to the simple loss of stability.

Various Measurement Methods for Fold-axis from Fold-related Structural Elements: An Example from Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do (습곡관련 구조요소들을 이용한 다양한 습곡축 측정방법의 실제적 적용성과 문제점: 충북 단양지역에서의 예)

  • Fold axis of fold, a representative ductile deformation structure, is important for collecting information on the 3D fold structure and the orientation of maximum horizontal principal stress at the time of deformation. For this reason, several fold axis measurement methods based on the fold-related structural elements have been suggested and used even in areas where it is impossible to measure it directly. Thus, these various measurement methods are briefly introduced here, and the measured data with different methods are compared to estimate these methods' reliability. For this purpose, we acquired fold axes at six sites across the Manhang formation of the Pyeongan supergroup and limestones of the Joseon supergroup in Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do, where fold structures are well developed. The data from the different methods are generally consistent, indicating practical applicability. Most of the fold axes from the measured sites show NNNE or NE trends indicating WNW-ESE or NW-SE trending maximum horizontal principal stress, except for the one site with a WNW trend. The WNW-ESE trending fold axis might be related to a different orogeny or secondary folding. The minor difference in the trends between N-NNE and NE was interpreted as being due to different scale; however, further research is needed to confirm this.
