It is general that mostly congested sections of national backbone networks have been improved based on the national network expansion plan. However, in case of intermodal terminals which are origins of logistics, it is still so congested that travel time between origin and destination is long. Therefore, intermodal transportation systems plan of major intermodal terminals for the intermodal connector networks between intermodal terminal and national backbone network or intermodal terminal was established. With the limitation of priority methodology applying to intermodal connector facility under existing methodology, this study suggests an improved priority methodology. This study includes characteristics of terminal on the hierarchical structure and assessment list, but it does not concentrate on the specific terminal type through survey. To avoid a certain concentration, budget constraint for each terminal type was considered ahead of priority. Finally priority methodology was developed with two-step assessment under consideration that specific terminal is not involved in intermodal connector facility project. As a result of calculating weights by survey, effects such as d/c and accessibility fluctuations index through project implementation gain high weight, and degree of region underdevelopment gets next. Although the methodology in this study could not yields the priority by assessment list, it will be useful for setting the direction on policy related to intermodal connector facility projects.

When new subway lines are considered to construct in a large city, there is a need to establish the appropriate transfer systems between subway and other transit modes, so as to increase the use of subway system. In this study, a multi-nominal logit model is developed to analyze the travel characteristics and the mode choice of subway Passengers transferring to and from the buses, minibuses and taxi. These passengers represent a large Portion of transit Passengers in Pusan city It shows that the explanatory variables that affect Passengers\` mode choice are in order of OVIT(Out-of-Vehicle Travel Time), IVTT(In-Vehicle Travel Time), transit fare,. income, gender, and age in modeling. In particular, OVTT is shown to have more significant impact on the mode choice than IYTT due to the fact that transfer trip is involved only in a short distance. Variables associated with the travel costs, however, do have an insignificant impact on the mode choice. It shows that it would be a better Policy to improve the quality of transit service using additional financial resource by increasing transit fare rather than by reducing the fare to increase travel demand. It also shows that value of travel time of OVTT is remarkably higher than that of IVTT and value of travel time of taxi Passengers is much higher than that of minibus Passengers .

This study discusses how transportation to connect railway stations in Korea's small and medium-sized cities can be improved, based on analysis of a survey on the Joongang Line. The analysis considered current problems in connectivity between parts of the Korean transportation system and suggests how to encourage more passengers to shift from private cars to railways. It was found that railway users in small and medium-sized cities hope for better connection between different modes of public transportation, especially for urban buses. However, there is not enough connectivity currently available; therefore it is crucial to establish a system of such connections, mainly focusing on urban buses. Furthermore, in order to minimize transfer distances and connect various transfer modes, plans for improvements of facilities are needed and governmental support should be provided.

The aim of this study is to propose an integrated operation plan of information call services by multi-connecting call services which are now being serviced by each different call number services and by providing one stop service which organically links alternative transportations such as railroad, air, and bus and also related organizations as well as road traffic information. For the objective, we analyzed the current status of Korean and foreign country systems and reviewed operation technology and technical specifications of the integrated system according to 3 steps, i.e. infrastructure procurement, test bed and extended completion, stabilization and high valuable services completion. Throughout the result of this study, traffic information one stop service, convenient service, diverse related information provision service, real-time information provision, and efficient system are expected to be implemented in the traffic information call service.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries is providing maritime safety services using combine limited artificial intelligence technologies through the operation of the Korean e-Navigation service, and research is needed to improve reliability and quality to secure the competitiveness of the system. However, linking real-time operating systems requires a separate system configuration that can be linked after processing personal information security with minimal performance impact. To solve this problem, this study will make a basic design of a big-data maritime information gateway system of the Korean e-Navigation service that minimizes the impact of performance and reflects the security of personal information.

The aim of this study is to propose an integrated press system design for traffic information service by multi-connecting traffic information services which are now being serviced by each different requirements for the press service and by providing advanced traveler information service which organically user oriented design such as traffic broadcast, news, journal, semantic web and also related traffic ontology as well as road traffic information. For the objective, the status of domestic and foreign traffic information supply system was analyzed and then the requirements by media were reviewed. Then, by analyzing the system implementation method and the implementation system the method of implementing such the system was suggested. The design method suggested in this study enabled the information users to utilize a variety of traffic information through intervening between the necessary and sufficient conditions of information users and information suppliers. Throughout the result of this study, for the users who used the integrated transport, the efficient space movement and the economic using value was improved. Providing the traffic information through the press media will become useful information to road drivels, and it is effected that the traffic volume will be dispersed and the traffic jam will be relieved owing to the supply of traffic information to the press.

This paper presents how LOS (Level of Service) of connectivity at railway stations is developed. Based on interview surveys to railway users at 56 railway stations, the catchment areas for railway is defined and MOE (Measures of Effectiveness) is also developed. The MOE is determined to be the weighted access time (min) and LOS "D" was set up between 45 mins and 60 mins. The 56 railway stations is evaluated based on this MOE and most of them is found to be below LOS "E". Finally some guideline for improving the LOS of accessibility. They are an expansions of accessibility facility, an expansion of bus route, an improvement of congestion roads, and expansions of parking lots for automobile users.

Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs prepared the method to update traffic connection system by amending "National Transport System Efficiency Act(hereinafter Act)". The key is a development of Intermodal Transfer Center. The law and guideline related with Intermodal Transfer Center requires the installation and operation of transfer information guide facility to improve user's convenience. However, there are no sufficient studies that can be used as references for the method to construct transfer support information system related with user's preference. The study performed the research about user's service satisfaction in relation with transfer support information service, which was embodied in model operation process, on the basis of transfer support information system of Intermodal Transfer Center applied to Gimpo Airport. The analysis result about service preference, importance of each supplied information, service satisfaction and consideration for service embodiment can be used as a guideline to embody the user information service of Intermodal Transfer Center. In addition, through CVM, the study estimated and proposed the service valuation of smart intermodal transfer service that provides customized information to cope with user's situation and traffic means operation status among transfer support information service. It is determined that the study will measure the benefit of Intermodal Transfer Center user by using monetary value when smart intermodal transfer service is supplied and provide the ground to expand high-tech transfer information service with high usefulness and convenience.

The purpose of this paper is to pursue a case study of urban land use and transportation linkage policies based on a British city of Cardiff, Wales. To this end, the paper combines a review and synthesis of available land use and transportation planning sources, and a series of interviews with planners and a extensive survey of planning policy documents to assess the effectiveness of policy instruments in the city context. Considerable emphasis is placed on the analysis of the British land use and transportation planning in terms of the Policy guidance notes 11, 12 and 13 as well as the local transport policy guidance. The paper highlights the fact that the Cardiff unitary development plan and the local transport plan form a policy framework of integrating land use and transportation planning process, employing travel demand management schemes and implementing the various strategy components on the overall aim of achieving and maintaining a sustainable city.
