여성주의 경제학자와 사회학자들은 부모의 아동양육시간이 여성과 아동의 경제적 복지에 미치는 중요한 함의에 대해 강조해왔다. 사회가 가족이 아동을 양육하는데 더 큰 지원을 제공해야 한다는 부모의 목소리가 커지고 있지만, 정작 어느 정도의 시간 자원이 아동을 양육하는데 투입되는지에 관해 연구된 바가 거의 없다. 기존의 연구들은 전체 생산 경제에서의 무급 노동의 경제적 가치의 비중에 초점을 두었다. 본 연구는 2004년 한국생활시간조사를 사용해 아동 양육에 투입된 부모의 시간을 추정하고 그 시간의 금전적 가치를 추정하는 것이 목적이다. 부모가 아동양육을 위해 투입한 시간의 경제적 가치는 시장 노동을 통해 벌어들인 소득에 비교해 볼 때 상당한 비중을 차지하고 있다. 아동이 소비하는 재화와 서비스를 생산하는 데 있어 무급 노동의 역할은 시장 노동에 참여하지 않고 있는 사람들에게 특히 중요하다. 아동을 양육하는 모의 노력은 대개 무급 노동의 형태를 띠고 있는데, 부모의 시장노동만큼이나 아동 복지를 향상시키는데 기여하고 있다. 전체 경제 차원에서의 무급 노동의 비중과 그 경제적 가치에 대한 연구 성과들과 별개로, 부모의 아동 양육 시간의 비중과 경제적 가치의 추정은 전체 경제 가운데 인적 자본부문에 대한 무급 노동의 경제적 역할에 대해 중요한 정보를 제공한다.

Purposes of this paper are to investigate whether managers' compensation is sticky as accounting performance(ROA) vary or not and explore further what factors influence the managers' compensation stickiness. To empirically study the stickiness of managers' compensation, we used the financial data from manufacturing firms lised in the Korea Stock Exchange(1,000 firm-year data for 4 years). The results are as follows : First, managers' compensation is sticky with respect to change in accounting performance. That is, the increase in managers' compensation as accounting performance increases is greater than the decrease in managers' compensation in respect to equivalent decrease in accounting performance. Second, the degree of managers' compensation stickiness increases when managers have influence and contribution to firm value. Specifically, the degree of stickiness is positively associated with investment opportunity set, intangible assets' value, uncertainty of firms' operating environment, complexity of organizational hierarchy. But firms' size reversely impacts on the degree of managers' compensation stickiness.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between foreign ownership and firm value. Based on the sample of 3,398 firm-year observations in the period of 2000 to 2007, we find evidence that foreign ownership is positively associated with firm value measured by the market-to-book ratio. In addition, we employ simultaneous equation system where both foreign ownership and firm value are treated as endogenous variables. Simultaneous regression models indicate that the foreign ownership affects firm value, but not vice versa. The positive effects of foreign ownership on firm value result from monitoring and disciplining roles played by foreign investors. Many Korean firms have been run by an owner-manager while monitoring provided by institutional equity holders has been limited. Therefore, Korean firms are expected to suffer from more severe agency costs caused by the conflicts of interest between owner-managers and outside investors. Our empirical results support the notion that foreign investors play an important role in enhancing corporate transparency and improving corporate governance.

This paper attempts to account for the recent decline in the share of 'regular employees' among total employees. It finds, among other things, that the decline which began in 1993 is not associated with the changes in the composition of the worker groups that have differing tendency to work as regular employees. Overall, the decline in the share of regular employment is mainly due to the workers' increased transition probability out of 'regular employment', with the exception of the younger workers for whom the decrease in the rate of entry into 'regular employment' has also been an important reason of such a decline.

이 연구는 '80년대 이후 많은 변화를 보이고 있는 정보통신 산업분야의 추세를 거시적으로 분석하기 위하여 '80년 이후 발표된 산업연관표(1980년, 1983년, 1985년)를 이용해 정보통신 산업이 국민경제에서 차지하는 역할과 타산업에 미치는 효과를 실증적으로 검증하였다. 분석결과 우리나라의 산업구조는 매년 고도화 되고 있으며, 특히 1차산업이 줄어듬과 동시에 3차산업과 정보통신산업의 비중이 증가하는 선진국형의 산업구조로 변화되고 있다. 1985년 현재 정보통신산업이 차지하는 비중은 4.54%로서 산출액은 8조6,468억을 기록하고 있지만, 성장율로 보면 정보통신서비스업은 1983년 대비 34.83%, 정보기기산업은 40.43%로 전체성장율을 훨씬 앞지르는 성장을 보였다. 그리고 국내 생산활동에 의하여 창출된 부가가치도 대폭 증가하였는데 부가가치비율은 1985년 전산업 평균이 41.35%이지만 정보통신서비스업은 60.71%로서 다른 어느 산업보다도 고부가가치산업임을 보여주고 있으며, 우리나라의 산업구조개선과 정보화 사회로 옮겨가는데 커다란 견인차 역할을 하고 있음을 나타내 주고 있다.
