Integrative Control of Series Active Power Filters for Source Voltage Unbalance Compensation and Power Factor Correction (전원 불평형과 역률을 보상하는 직렬형 능동전력필터의 통합적 제어)

  • This paper presents an integrative control scheme for series-type active power filters combined with shunt passive filters not only to compensate for the source voltage unbalance and current harmonics but also to correct the power factor. To reduce the power capacity of the active filters, passive filters are connected in parallel. Diode rectifiers are replaced by the PWM converters in order to feed the real power back to the source. Power factor control is performed by changing the phase of the load voltage so that the phase of the source current coincides with that of the source voltage. The resultant voltage reference is the addition of the voltage component compensating for the source voltage unbalance and harmonic currents and the voltage component correcting the power factor. The validity of the proposed algorithm has been verified by experimental results.

  • 정보네트워크산업이 급속히 발전, 보급되는 가운데 그 전원인 무정전전원장치(Uninterruptible Power Supply: UPS)에 대해서도 여러 가지 요구가 나오고 있다. 특히 최근에는 고신뢰성화$\cdot$소형화$\codt$저가격화에 더하여 러닝코스트 저감과 지구온난화 방지를 연결한 개념의 성에너지화를 목적으로 하는 전력변환효율의 향상에 대한 요구가 강해지고 있다. 이번에 이러한 요구에 응하기 위하여 미쓰비시전기는 상시상용 급전방식을 채용하여 HSS(High Speed Switch)회로와 쌍방향 컨버터회로를 개발하여, 고효율이며 급전신뢰성이 높은 MPC(Multiple Power Compensator)방식의 UPS를 개발하였다. 이에 의하여 전력변환효율을 90$\%$에서 98$\%(100kVA에서)로 대폭 개선함과 동시에 종래의 상용급전방식 UPS의 결점이었던 상용전원 이상시의 급전계통 전환시간을 부하기기에 영향을 미치지 않는 2밀리초까지 단축시켜 전환시에도 순간 단전됨이 없이 부하급전을 계속할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 통상의 급전시에는 쌍방향 컨버터에 입력전류가 고조파보상기능을 갖게 하여 입력역률 0.99를 달성하였다.

  • In this paper, a novel control scheme compensating for source voltage unbalance and current harmonics and power factor simultaneously in unified active power filter systems combined with shunt passive filters is proposed, where no low/high-pass filter are used in deriving the reference voltage for compensation. Using digital all-pass filters, the phase angle and the reference voltages compensating for harmonic current and unbalanced voltage are derived from the positive sequence component of the unbalanced voltage. The amplitude of d-axis current in a series filter is controlled as zero for power factor correction. The validity of the proposed control scheme has been verified by experimental results.

  • Reactor starting method has the advantage of simplicity and closed transition in spite of lower starting torque per kVA. This method allows a smooth start with almost no observable disturbance on transition and is suitable for applications such as centrifugal pumps or fans. Reactive power doesn't contribute to work but needs to sustain the electromagnetic field required for the induction motor to operate. Starting power factor of induction motor is specially lower than running power factor. Power factor application is needed to compensate for the lower power factor of induction motor. This power factor compensation systems is occasionally being hit by the effects of the starting reactor connection position at the starting, stopping of high-voltage induction motor. This paper describes voltage and current stress affected by the installation position of power factor compensation application at the reactor starting method.

  • Recently, the expansion or establishment of facilities for the logistics system is increasing. Conveyor facilities play a major role in sorting and transporting logistics. Induction motors are widely used for the operation of these conveyor systems. In the logistics system, a large number of induction motors are used. These motors have a considerable distance from the power source side and have a low power factor. The installation position for the power factor compensation of the induction motor is very important. Since the voltage drop depends on the length of the line, it is an important parameter in capacitor capacity determination for power factor compensation. The capacity of the capacitors installed to compensate the power factor of the inductive load should be designed to the extent that self-excitation does not occur. In this study, we analyze the method of compensating the proper power factor considering the voltage drop and the installation position of the induction motor in the logistics system.

  • This paper presents a novel Power Factor Corrected(PFC) single-stage AC/DC Half-Bridge converter, which features discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) and soft-switching. The reduced conduction losses are achieved by the employment of a novel power factor correction circuitry, instead of the conventional configuration composed of a front-end rectifier followed by a boost converter. To identify the validity of the proposed converter, simulated results of 500[W] converter with 100[V] input voltage and 50[V] output voltage are presented.

  • In this paper, APLC(Active Power Line Conditioner) is designed for low consumed power electrical equipment such as communication electronic equipment, computer sever and etc.. Because APLC which is hunted to the mains controls only the elements of harmonics, the designed APLC is very high efficient. Additionally, controller designed with low cost micro-controller and analog circuit has good merit economically. Simulation and experimental results on a prototype verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

  • 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치는 회전하는 물체에 에너지를 저장하고 이 에너지를 필요 시 기계적인 에너지를 변환하여 전기적 축전지이다. 플라이휠은 무정전전원장치의 직류측의 단자에서 전원을 받아 충전되며, 무정전전원장치의 입력 AC전압이 차단되어 UPS DC bus전압이 설정 값 이하로 떨어지면 저장 되어 있는 에너지를 전력변환 모듈에 의해 DC로 변환하여 UPS에 공급한다. 또한 전압 Sag, 전압의 불평형, 순간정전 및 고조파에 의한 정전에 대비하여 축전지와 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치를 조합하여 운용할 경우 축전지와 UPS의 DC BUS가 전기적으로 절연이 되어 개별 축전지 구성과 동일한 동작이 되도록 구성으로 축전지의 방전 횟수를 감소함으로써 축전지의 수명도 연장 할 수 있습니다.

  • This paper describes a modeling and current control techniques of Distribution static condenser (D-STATCON) for power factor compensation. The current control is based on the predictive and the space vector PWM scheme. The predictive current controlled PWM D-STATCON can maintain its performance with power factor compensation and fixed switching frequency. By using the space vector control low ripple and offset in the current and the voltage as well as fast dynamic responses are achieved with a small DC link capacitance employed.

  • 전자식 안정기의 초기구동 시, 발생되는 입력단의 높은 돌입전류는 전자식 안정기 내의 전파정류다이오드 및 능동 역률보상회로의 파손원인이 되며, 제품의 신뢰성을 감소시키는 큰 요인으로 지목된다. 따라서 안정기의 입력에서 발생되는 돌입전류를 분석하고 제한하는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 250W CDM(Ceramic Discharge Metal-halide) 램프용 DBI(Dual Buck Inverter) 구조의 전자식 안정기에서 초기 구동 시 높은 돌입전류가 발생되는 원인을 분석하고, 해결책을 제시하였다.
