A Study on the Establishment of Smart Factory through the Environmental Factors and Absorption Capacity of Small and Medium Businesses (중소기업의 환경요인과 흡수역량을 통한 Smart Factory 구축 연구)

  • Many small and medium-sized enterprises are deploying Smart Factory without due consideration of the circumstances in which the entity is in or outside of the entity, such as environmental changes and the capabilities of its members. Therefore, utilization and effectiveness are also low after deployment. This study verifies 'the establishment of a Smart Factory through the environmental factors and absorption capabilities of small businesses' through empirical research. The survey was received by people working for small and medium-sized companies that have established Smart Factory. The results of the study showed that first, environmental factors within and outside the company had a positive effect on the absorption capacity within the company. Second, the absorption capacity within a company has had a positive effect on the deployment of a Smart Factory. Based on the above proof, it has been proved to be effective if the core areas of the Smart Factory are built on the basis of the company's internal and external environmental factors and absorption capabilities when constructing Smart Factory in small businesses. In the future, we will study the achievements of smart factory construction.

The Effects of Supply Chain Management on Project Manager's Capability and Sustainable Benefit Sharing in Global Leading Companies (글로벌 리딩 기업의 공급사슬관리가 프로젝트 관리자의 역량과 지속가능 성과공유에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of SCM on PM's capabilities and sustainable benefit sharing in leading global companies. To achieve this, statistical analyses were carried out through an empirical questionnaire survey of 426 PMs in SCM companies. The results showed that SCM commitment, vision and goal sharing have positive effects on PM's capabilities in leading global companies, boosting PM capability. Moreover, sustainable benefit sharing was improved along with SCM trust building, vision and goal sharing in global leading companies, supporting the usefulness of these variables. In contrast, SCM information sharing and trust building did not lead to significant acceleration of PM's capabilities, rejecting these variables. These findings indicate that SCM information sharing or trust building does not really help simple members to accelerate PM's capabilities.

  • This study diagnosed the innovation capability of SMEs by utilizing the VIQ(Value Innovation Quotient) and deduced the innovation strategy. VIQ is the diagnosis tool for measuring the innovation capability of the SMEs focusing on the value innovation. SMEs can utilize this tool for diagnosis and deduce the innovation strategy. This study selected the high-growth venture company- K company and analyse it and deduced the innovation strategy. Innovation strategy can be as follows; Firstly, agile strategy formulation tool such as business intelligence and scenario planning should be adopted for the flexible business planning. Secondly, speedy decision making process should be made. Thirdly, open communication and empowerment process should be made. This paper can present the method of evaluating and diagnosis of value innovation capability of SMEs and innovation strategy formulation process.

  • This study is to understand those determinants of performance differences of Korean small and medium firm's subsidiaries in Vietnam based on the resource based view. We have visited 21 Korean SME's subsidiaries in Hochiminh city area in Vietnam and interviewed CEO of those subsidiaries for 1-2 hours to make each case. Based on case content analysis, we can get those results that eight management capabilities such as securing competent local managers, clear and smooth communication with local employees, establishing good labor-management relations, raising the rate of factory operation and subcontracting, firm specific quality control system, timely financing, establishing good relationships with local communities, and fostering friendly relations with local public officers are major determinants of performance differences. Also we can know that various factors including local experiences in Vietnam have influenced those management capabilities. To be a high performer in Vietnam, foreign subsidiaries of Korean SMEs have to build and develop major management capabilities continuously.

  • This study reviews previous studies about the effects of RFID capabilities on strategic supply chain competence and business performance in the Chinese context. This study introduces a new perspective that measures the degree to which RFID capability levels contribute to business performance. Such an assumption is based on the fact that companies build their own capabilities through RFID capabilities and that these capabilities provide a competitive advantage for enterprises. Data on all sorts of logistics, distribution, and manufacturing companies that introduced RFID system in China were collected for data analysis. This study analyzes the structural equation modeling using Smart-PLS 2.0 program. This study confirms that internal reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity are satisfied. The hypothesis test result on the relationship between RFID capacity and strategic supply chain competence and strategic supply chain competence and company results is partially adopted. This study aids in establishing a RFID system construction strategy to enhance supply chain competence by suggesting guidelines for the successful introduction of RFID system through identifying the causal relationship between RFID capacity and strategic supply chain competence. This study also suggests the influence of RFID competency on visibility, agility, flexibility, and collaborations.

  • 체계적으로 구축된 핵심역량을 확보하고 있는 기업은 경영 환경이 변하여도 크게 어려움을 겪지 않는다. 기업 내부적으로 강인한 체질로 무장하고 있는 셈이기 때문이다. 뿐만 아니라, 핵심역량은 기업들에게 장기적이고 차별적인 경쟁 우위를 제공한다. 따라서 핵심역량을 확보하는데 총력을 기울이는 도전적 자세만이 어려운 경영 환경을 극복할 수 있는 유일한 대안일 것이다.

대한민국 반세기 연구개발정책의 변천

  • 본 챕터는 과거 50년 연구개발정책의 역사를 돌이켜보면서 한국 산업과 경제의 성장과정에서 연구개발정책이 어떤 역할을 수행했는가를 조명한다. 1960년 초 경제개발 5개년계획을 추진하기 시작하던 때부터 1970년 대 말까지 연구기반 구축기, 1981년부터 2000년까지 연구역량 축적기, 2001년부터 2020년 현재까지 연구개발 도약기 등 3단계로 나눠서 살펴본다. 연구기반 구축기간 중에는 연구개발 투자의 증가와 함께 본격적인 연구와 우수 연구인력을 양성하기 위하여 여러 국책연구기관을 설립하였으며 연구 단지를 조성하는 등 연구기반을 구축하는 정책을 추진하였다. 다양한 분야의 전문 연구기관의 설립 필요성이 제기되자 주요 분야 연구조직을 KIST 부설 형태로 발족한 후 독립 연구기관으로 분리하는 것이 주요 정책이었다. 연구역량 축적기에는 정부가 연구개발 사업을 기획하여 추진하였고 1990년대에 이르러서는 대학의 연구 잠재력을 조직화함으로써 연구역량을 축적하였다. 수출 고도화와 수출시장에서의 경쟁력을 향상해야 하는 기업들의 절박한 기술혁신의 필요성에 기인하여 기업의 연구개발 투자가 급속도로 증가했다. 2000년대에 이르러서는 우리나라 연구개발투자가 절대규모에서도 세계 5위국으로 부상했고, GDP대비 연구개발투자 비중에서는 세계 최고 수준에 도달했다. 이렇듯 연구기반 구축기, 연구역량 축적기, 연구개발 도약기를 거치면서 우리나라는 매 20여년의 주기로 연구개발 시스템을 시대 상황에 맞도록 정책을 혁신하여 추진함으로써 오늘에 이르렀다. 과학기술의 혁신은 산업과 기업의 성장에 결정적인 기여를 하였다. 정부의 도전적인 연구개발 투자는 정밀한 정책 기획과 추진이 병행되면서 그 효과가 발휘되었고 산업과 기업의 성장을 견인할 수 있었다.

  • The aim of this paper is to explore opportunities and limitations of the top-down approach to build institutional performance by analyzing the process of local government-led cluster's initiatives. In doing so, this paper investigates processes of the design and implementation of cluster's policy as well as firms' innovative capacities. As the result, it reveals the fallacy of the local government's policy in planning industrial clusters, the inconsistence of cluster initiatives due to changes of regional vision providers, weakness of innovative performance of IT firms supported by the local government in the region. It should be concluded that Chun-cheon City did not succeed in accumulating institutional capabilities which were crucial to implement a cluster initiative.

  • Although there are many processes in which factors interact with each other during enterprise resource planning(ERP) implementation, factors affecting ERP implementation have been investigated in an isolated way. In order to bridge the gap, this study attempts to provide a research model to explain how these factors affect ERP implementation success from a holistic perspective. In particular, this research focuses on how bundling and leveraging processes affect ERP implementation success using resource based theory, a strategy formulation framework, and a dynamic resource management model of value creation. The model amalgamates organizational resources and capabilities via the bundling and leveraging processes to identify the effect on ERP implementation success. This paper validates the proposed model by presenting Australian aviation industry case study. Case findings will be in help to reveal the effect of resource bundling in establishing capabilities and effect of capabilities leveraging in deriving the ERP implementation success.
