Effects of Lower Body Meridian Hand Therapy on Change in Obese Women's Body Composition and Blood Lipid (하체 경락 수기요법이 비만 여성들의 신체구성과 혈중지질 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to examine the impacts of lower body meridian hand therapy on changes in obese women's body composition and blood lipid. 30 obese women participated in the experiment carried out twice a week for 5 weeks on 15 subjects in lower body meridian hand therapy group and 15 lower-body bathing/lower body meridian hand therapy group. For changes in body composition, BMI, body fat and waist-hip ratio decreased in both groups, while for changes in blood lipid, TC, LDL-C and TG decreased while HDL-C increased by 0.98% in the former group while 1.12% in the latter group. Thus, the 5-week treatment of lower body meridian hand therapy was effective for improving body composition, decrease of blood lipid and of middle-aged obese women, so which can be recommended as lower body obesity management program in esthetics.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노년층 남성과 여성의 자아존중과 기성복만족에 대한 신체만족도의 관계 및 남녀의 차이점을 알아보는 것이다. 나이 55세 이상의 미국 남부에 거주하는 302명의 남성과 여성에게 설문지가 배부되었고, 50명의 남성과 58명의 여성이 자료분석에 이용되었다. 신체만족도는 신체 5 부위(얼굴, 하체, 신장, 체중, 토르소)로 나뉘어 측정되었고, 자아존중은 Rosenberg의 자아존중 척도가 사용되었으며, 기성복에 대한 만족은 기성복의 맞는 정도와 스타일에 대하여 측정되었다. 그 결과 노년층 남성과 여성 모두에게 있어 자아존중은 신체만족도와 관련이 있었지만 남성보다 여성에게 있어 자아존중은 신체만족도와 더 깊은 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 신체만족도와 기성복에 대한 만족은 노년층 남성과 여성 모두에게 있어 관련이 있었으나 여성이 남성보다 체중에 대한 만족이 기성복만족과 더 깊은 관련이 있었다.

The Effects of Ankle Strengthening Exercise and Toe Taping Walk Training to Lower Body Exercise Function (발목강화운동과 무지테이핑 걷기훈련이 하체운동기능에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to verify the effects of a 4-week program of ankle-strengthening exercise and toe-taping walk exercise on the basic lower body strength and walking to examine the benefits of the two exercises. The subjects involved 30 women in their 20s enrolled in university A. The subjects were equally divided into three groups - ankle-strengthening exercise group, toe-taping walk exercise group, and control group. The subjects were instructed to massage and do ankle-strengthening exercises using a towel, massage ball, and CRT, for 60 minutes, 3 times a week. They also taped their hallux valgus using a kinesiology tape and walked for 20 minutes with white tape applied. To sum up, the 4-week ankle-strengthening exercise and toe-taping walk exercise were identified to have a partial statistical significance on the basic lower body strength (muscular strength, power, and balance) and walking (length of gait line, plantar pressure, and COP) of women in their 20s. Therefore, the study confirmed the effects of ankle-strengthening exercises and toe-taping walk exercise on the lower body exercise function, and it is considered that further studies should be conducted on more various effects of the exercises by subdividing them into different pain locations and orthomechanic findings.

The Effect of Health Promotion Program on the Frailty of Rural Elderly Women Implemented at Primary Health Care Posts (일부 보건진료소에서 실시한 건강증진프로그램이 농촌여성노인의 노쇠에 미치는 효과)

  • Objective: This study was conducted to examine the effects of a health promotion program on the health condition of rural elderly women implemented at primary health care posts using Korean Frailty Index. Methods: The research was designed a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest setting. The participants in this study were 50 residents (intervention group: 25, control group: 25) selected from 4 villages 2 primary health care posts in J city Gyeongsangnam-do. The health promotion program was conducted at the primary health care posts twice a week for 12 weeks. This program consisted of basic exercises(Gukseondo + Theraband muscle strength training) and additional activities(including modified Theraband activity, rubber ball exercise, ball massage, nutrition class, singing class). Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA with SPSS 21.0. Results: Results of the health promotion program showed that the health conditions(measured by perceived health status, frailty score, upper/lower flexibility, maximum grip strength, dynamic balance test Timed Up and Go) of the experimental group(25) all statistical significantly improved. Conclusion: Study findings indicate that the health promotion program implemented at primary health care posts on rural elderly women is effective and can contribute to a developed health promotion program for local residents in the future.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 사회.문화적 관점에서 한.미 여성의 이상적인 미, 바디이미지, 그리고 외모행동을 비교조사 하는데 있다. Open-Ended Questions에 의한 연구 결과, 이상적인 미로 미국여성이 \"키크고 마른 신체 매력성\"을 추구한 반면, 한국여성은 \"내적인 미\"와 \"서구적인 신체 매력성\"을 추구하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상적인 미를 추구하기 위해 미국여성은 주로 신체의 하체부분, 한국여성은 얼굴부분을 많이 가꾸고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 외모행동으로는 한국여성은 화장이나 피부관리 등에, 미국여성은 excercise나 다이어트 등을 많이 하고 있었다. 사회.문화적 이상적인 미에 비교해 볼 때 두 집단 모두 자신의 외모에 대해 만족하지 못하는 편으로 나타났다. 또한 두 나라 집단의 여성들은 각 나라마다 사회.문화적 이상적인 미가 각각 존재해야 함에도 불구하고 현재에는 이상적 미의 기준이 문화에 관계없이 동일한 편이라고 응답을 하였다. 본 연구에서는 사회.문화적 집단주의와 개인주의 개념을 토대로 이러한 연구결과들이 논의되어 진다.주의 개념을 토대로 이러한 연구결과들이 논의되어 진다.

Effects of Iyengar Yoga Practice for 12 weeks on Lower Body Imbalance in Middle-aged Women (중년여성의 12주간 아헹가 요가 수련이 하체 불균형에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Iyengar yoga practice on the lower body imbalance in middle-aged women. The subjects (n=24), who had not performed yoga training prior to this study (and) were not attending any other training programs, participated after undergoing an X-RAY examination with the Gonstead Technique and then their lower body imbalance (was reevaluated). The subjects completed the yoga program for 12 weeks (3 times per week, 90 minutes per session). The data were analyzed with the paired t-test and alpha was set at 0.05. It was found that 1) the height differences between the right and left iliac crests (p < 0.001), width (p < 0.001) and length (p < 0.001) differences between the right and left iliac fossa, and width differences between the right and left sacrum (p < 0.001) were significantly reduced after the training program. In addition, 2) the lower limb length discrepancy was significantly reduced (p < 0.001). Our data suggest that Iyengar yoga training for 12 weeks reduces the pelvic imbalance and length differences between the right and left lower limbs in middle-aged females.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate to effect of core exercise with swiss ball on sarcopenia index in agriculture older women. A total of 30 subjects(15 Ex group, 15 Con group, 65 over agriculture older woman) were participated in this study. Intervention group were assigned to performing a progressive core exercise training program for 12 weeks(2 time/week). Dependent variable were grip strength, chair stand, muscle mass, 4m gait speed, Timed up and go, and 400m walking. As a result were following. Grip strength was not significantly difference but chair stand was significantly difference in time. And muscle mass was significantly difference in groups. And 4m gait speed, Timed up and go and 400m walking were significantly difference in time. In conclusion, lower body muscle strength and short physical performance battery by muscle activating with core muscle strength training.

Effects of proprioceptive exercise on muscle endurance strength, dynamic balance and gait ability of elderly women in social welfare facility (고유수용성 저항운동이 사회복지시설 이용 여성 노인의 근지구력, 동적 평형성 및 보행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a 14-week proprioceptive resistance exercise on muscle endurance strength, dynamic balance and gait ability of elderly women in a social welfare facility. Thirty community dwelling elderly subjects (mean age 70.84±3.33) divided into experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. The participants performed the muscle endurance strength(30sec hair stand), dynamic balance (3m up and go) and low extremity performance (10m walking, 400m walking) pre and after the training program. The exercise groups were submitted to 14 weeks proprioceptive training with a Swiss ball three times a week. As a results were as follow. Significantly improvements were observed in low extremity strength and dynamic balance. And there have significantly improvements in 10m walking, 400m walking. Conclusionly, the improvement of dynamic balance and gait ability by proprioceptive resistance training will reduce the possibility in female elderly people.

  • Background: There have been no reports of studies on the effect of a combination of myofascial relaxation technique and passive stretching on the lower extremity body shape of working women. Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of myofascial relaxation technique and passive stretching on body composition and body composition analysis (intracellular fluid, skeletal muscle mass, body cell mass), etc. Methods: The subjects of this study were 30 women at a body shape management center who had many problems with their subjective lower extremity body shape. Fifteen subjects were in the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group applied the fascial relaxation technique twice a week for nine weeks. The control group conducted stretches by themselves at least twice a week according to the active stretching instructions. The ANOVA program analyzed the data. Results: In the experimental group, intracellular fluid (p < .05), skeletal muscle mass (p < .048), and body cell mass (p < .047) were significantly increased. Developing a prototype of bi-stretch pants for women in their 20s and 30s with overweight lower bodies (20~30대 하체비만형 여성을 위한 양방향 스트레치 팬츠 원형 개발)

  • This research was carried out on women in their 20s and 30s who have overweight lower body. The subjects selected for this study were women a Rohrer index of 1.6 or higher, a waist circumference 78.5cm to 83.5cm, and a lower drop of at least 18cm. The aim is to propose a prototype of bi-stretch pants meeting demands for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Various clothing patterns ease amount of the waist and hip circumferences and crotch depths and were developed. They had different crotch widths, and center back line angles. The results showed that the best pants patterns were ease 1cm to the total hip circumference. The front hip circumference was H/4-0.5cm, and the back hip circumference was H/4+1cm. The front crotch width was H/20+1cm, the back crotch width was H/10+3cm. No additional ease was given to the total waistline. The front waist circumference was W/4+0.5cm. The back waist circumference was W/4-0.5cm. The knee circumference was set at 44cm, the pant hem width was set at 36cm, and the pant length was set at 100cm-5cm. The findings of this research can be used as basic data for stretch pants that fit the abdomen, hips, and thighs for women in their 20s and 30s with overweight lower body.
