Plasticized cellulose diacetate(CDA) was prepared by homogenizing cellulose diacetate(CDA), triacetin(TA) and epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) in a high-speed mixer, then the CDA mixture was mixed with ramie fiber to produce a green composite material. In DMA analysis, the glass transition temperature of plasticized CDA and the composite was observed at $85\;^{\circ}C\;and\;140\;^{\circ}C$, respectively. A composite reinforced with alkali treated ramie fiber exhibited significantly higher mechanical properties, such as $15\;^{\circ}C$ increase in tensile strength as well as $41\;^{\circ}C$ increase in Young's modulus when compared with commercial polypropylene. In the SEM image analysis, much enhanced adhesion between plasticized CDA and alkali treated ramie fiber (AIRa) was observed.
The hybridization of carbon nano-materials enhances the efficiency of each function of the resulting structure or composites. Also, the addition of non-carbon elements to nanomaterials modifies the electrochemical properties. Electrodes combining porous carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and metal oxides benefit from the combination of the double-layer capacitance of the CNFs and the pseudocapacitive character associated with the surface redox-type reactions. Consequently, they demonstrate superior supercapacitor performance in terms of high capacitance, high energy/power efficiency and high rate capability. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the latest advances made in the development and application of various metal oxide/CNF composites (CNFCs) to supercapacitor electrodes.
Free and glycine conjugated bile acids were detected fluoromatrically in high-performance liquid chromatography after derivatization with dansyl cadaverine. The coupling agent, diethyl phosphorocyanidate was used to form the amide bond between dansyl cadaverine and analytes. The dansyl derivatives of 8 bile acids were separated successfully on Cosmosil ODS column by using linear gradient elution of 20% MeOH-water/$CH_3CN$. The detection limits of cholic acid was reached 10 pg(S/N=5) per $1{\mu}l$ of injected volume. This new derivatization method would be applicable to detect the changes of bile acids in biological samples.
Glasses of $SiO_2-B_{2}O_3-Al_{2}O_3-CaO-La_{2}O_3$ with various amounts of $La_{2}O_3$ were infiltrated into a porous alumina to make an alumina-glass composite. The infiltration characterization and bending strength of the composite were examined in terms of glass composition. $La_{2}O_3$ in the glass decreased the high temperature viscosity and this enhanced the wetting behaviour of this glass to alumina, and made glass infiltration easier. The infiltrated glass dissolved the alumina skeleton, and $Al_{2}O_3$ component in the glass melt reprecipitated on the alumina. The grain growth occurred to a specific crystal direction. The glass containing $20mole\%$ of $La_{2}O_3$ was crystallized after infiltration, and this enhanced the bending strength of the composite.

The strength and thermal shock resistance of $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ composites have been studied. The tetragonal $ZrO_2$ powder containing 1 mol.% $Y_2O_3$ and monoclinic $ZrO_2$ powder were prepared by coprecipitation method and subsequently mixed with $Al_2O_3$ powder and granulated by sieving. Duplex composites were prepared by dry mixing matrix agglomerate with 15 to 30 vol.% of dispersion agglomerate, followed by pressing and sintering at 1$600^{\circ}C$ for1 hr. These $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ 2 composites having heterogeneous structure showed improved thermal shock behaviors because of the microcracking and pores in dispersed granules, and compressive stresses around dispersed granules resulting from $ZrO_2$ transformation.
The Seosan Geomenyeo(black submerged rocks), once located at the Cheonsuman bay of Buseokmyeon in Seosan, Korea, is a reef rock now exposed on the land surface. The Geomenyeo can also be found in the ancient geographic maps around the area. The local geographic names, like Buseok and Buseoksa temple are derived from the Geomenyeo. It is composed of ultramafic rocks complex and intrusive felsic igneous rocks. These rocks show diverse facies with various petrographic characteristics caused by geological processes such as intrusion and alteration. Ultramafic rocks complex can be roughly categorized as coarse grained ultramafic rocks and medium grained mafic rocks. Both cases are composed of pyroxene and amphibole, showing the general rock facies of pyroxenite, diabase and lamprophyre. Felsic igneous rocks includes pinkish medium grained granite, porphyritic amphibole granite and aplite with varied mineral compositions. The Geomenyeo is the only ultramafic rocks complex in the Cheonsuman Bay; moreover, it has a distinctive geological and scenic value, as well as a symbolic property. In order to preserve the Geomenyeo, it is necessary to investigate and promote it as a designated heritage site through academic studies, and compensate for the convenience and protection facilities. Additionally, the Geomenyeo should be evaluated as a maritime heritage site, due to the unique local culture as it succeeds the recognition of forefathers which regarded it as a local scenic site with significance.

We fabricated organic electroluminescent(EL) devices with mixed emitting layer of poly(N-vinylcarbazole)(PVK), 2,5-bis(5'-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazoly)thiophene(BBOT), N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4, 4'-diarnine(TPD) and poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT). To improve the external quantum efficiency of EL devices, we added the functional layer to the devices such as LiF insulating layer, carrier confinement layer(BBOT) and hole injection layer(CuPc). In the ITO/emitting layer/Al device, the maximum quantum efficiency at 15V was $1.88{\times}10^{-5}%$. And then, it is increased by a factor of 27 to $5.2{\times}10^{-3}%$ in ITO/CuPc/emitting layer/BBOT/LiF/Al device at 15V.

Suitable compositions which are sinterable at low temperature in the $BaO-B_{2}O_{3}-ZnO$ glass system were investigated as a function of the ratio between BaO and ZnO. The effect of $Al_{2}O_3$ filler on densification and physical characteristics of the glass was also examined. When the amount of $Al_{2}O_3$ filler increased, the densification rate and the values of dielectric constant, thermal expansion coefficient and hardness in the glass-filler composites decreased gradually. The decreasing rate of the physical properties accelerated when fine $Al_{2}O_3$ filler was used. However, the fracture toughness of the composite rather increased due to the existence of filler particles and pores which effectively suppressed crack propagation with addition of fine $Al_{2}O_3$ filler.
The effects of the host on the aggregation behavior of Oxaxine 720 (Ox720) were studied using absorption, fluorescence, and excitation spectra. The host materials used in this study were water, ethanol, and $TiO_2/P123$ nanocomposite. Ox720 aqueous solution contains a significant amount of H-aggregates, which increases with the increase in the concentration. In ethanol solution, Ox720 mainly exists in the monomer form and tiny amount of Ox720 exists in H- and J-aggregate forms. In the $TiO_2/P123$ nanocomposite thin film, the amount of H-aggregates was smaller than that in the aqueous solution but greater than that in the ethanol solution. $TiO_2$ nanocomposite thin film was proven to be a moderately good host for Ox720.
