어머니의 양육행동과 유아의 스마트폰 과몰입 간의 관계에서 유아의 자기조절능력의 매개적 역할 (The Mediating Roles of Preschoolers' Self-regulation in the Relationship Between Maternal Parenting Behaviors and Preschoolers' Excessive Immersion in Smartphones)

  • Objective: This study examined the mediating roles of preschoolers' self-regulation in the relationship between maternal parenting behaviors and preschoolers' excessive immersion in smartphones. Methods: A total of 268 mothers of preschoolers responded to questionnaires on three research variables. Data were analyzed by correlation analyses and regression analyses. Results: First, maternal warmth/encouragement was negatively related to preschoolers' excessive immersion in smartphones, while maternal overprotectiveness/permission and rejection/neglect were positively related to preschoolers' excessive immersion in smartphones. Second, maternal warmth/encouragement and limit setting were positively linked to preschoolers' self-regulation, but maternal overprotectiveness/permission and rejection/neglect were negatively linked to preschoolers' self-regulation. Third, preschoolers' self-regulation was negatively associated with their excessive immersion in smartphones. Finally, preschoolers' self-regulation fully mediated the relationship between maternal warmth/encouragement and preschoolers' excessive immersion in smartphones, and preschoolers' self-regulation partially mediated the relationship between maternal overprotectiveness/permission, rejection/neglect and preschoolers' excessive immersion in smartphones. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggest that positive maternal parenting behaviors and preschoolers' effective self-regulation are important in order to decrease preschoolers' smartphone overuse. These findings provide empirical evidence to develop programs for prevention and intervention of preschoolers' smartphone addiction.

차별적 민감성 모델에 기초한 어머니의 정서표현수용태도와 유아의 공감능력 간의 관계에서 부정적 정서성의 중재효과 (Moderating Effects of Negative Emotionality on the Association Between Maternal Attitude Toward Children's Emotional Expression and Empathy Based on the Differential Susceptibility Model)

  • Objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the moderating effect of children's negative emotionality on the relationship between maternal attitude toward children's emotional expression based on the differential susceptibility model. Methods: Participants were 216 preschool children including 116 boys and 100 girls from day care centers and preschools located in Chungchung province and Seoul. EAS was used to measure the children's negative emotionality. The children's empathy quotient was used to measure empathy. Mothers reported their attitude toward children's emotional expression. Results: The results revealed that the association between empathy and maternal suppression of children's emotional expression was significant only for the children with high levels of negative emotionality. Moreover, the magnitude of association between empathy and maternal acceptance of children's emotional expression was greater for high levels of negative emotionality. Conclusion/Implications: It was concluded that these findings supported the differential susceptibility model.

유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육 역량과 분노 표현과의 관계: 자녀에 대한 염려의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects of Concern: The Relationship Between Parenting Competence and Anger Expression Among Mothers with Young Children)

  • Objective: This study aimed to find out whether concern for children mediates the impact of parenting competence on the anger expression of mothers with young children. Methods: Subjects consisted of 219 mothers with children aged 3 to 6 years old attending kindergartens and daycare centers. The motehrs were given 3 rating scales about parenting competence, concerns about their children, and anger expression. The Parental Anger Scales measuring anger expression consisted of sub-factors such as situational anger, impulsive behavior, and difficulty of anger control. Results: Using the data collected, correlation analysis and the regression analysis procedure by Baron & Kenny(1968) were conducted; the significance of the mediating effects was verified by the Sobel test. First, the study found that there were significant positive correlations between mother's parenting competence, concern about children, and anger expression. Second, mothers' concern about their children had partial mediating effects on the relationships between parenting competence and overall anger expression, situational anger and impulsive behavior, and a complete mediating effect on the relationship between parenting competence and difficulty with anger control. Conclusion/Implications: These results were discussed in terms of the approach and content of parent education to help parents with young children control their anger.

유아기질이 유아자아존중감과 또래유능성에 미치는 영향 (The effect that infant temperament has on the infant's sense of self-respect and peer competence)

  • 본 연구는 유아기질이 유아의 자아존중감, 또래유능감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 살펴봄으로써 유아의 자아존중감과 또래유능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석을 통해 나타난 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아기질의 적응성, 활동성, 자아존중감의 인지적능력, 동료수용의 경우 어린이집의 평점이 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 유아기질의 반응성, 자아존중감의 어머니수용, 동료관계, 또래유능성의 사교성은 유치원의 평점이 더 높은 것으로 조사되었고, 남아의 '생리적규칙성'이 여아에 비해 더 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 유아의 연령에 따른 유아기질, 자아존중감, 또래유능성의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 유아기질의 '반응성'의 경우 만 5세가 a그룹으로 만 3세, 만4세가 b그룹으로 나뉘어 차이를 보였으며 '생리적규칙성'의 경우 만3세의 규칙성이 가장 컸으며 만5세의 규칙성이 상대적으로 적어 차이를 보였다. 자아존중감과 또래유능감에서는 만4, 5세가 만3세보다 높은 것으로 확인되어졌다.

자폐스펙트럼 장애 영유아 어머니의 양육 스트레스 수준에 따른 심리적 증상의 차이 (The Differences of Psychological Symptoms According to the Level of Parenting Stress for Mothers of Infants With Autism Spectrum Disorder)

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 자폐스펙트럼 장애(ASD) 영유아의 어머니를 대상으로 양육 스트레스 총점, 부모영역 및 아동영역 수준에 따라 MMPI-2를 통해 어머니가 경험할 수 있는 양육 스트레스 수준에 따른 다양한 심리적 증상의 차이를 검증하였다. 연구방법 : 서울 소재의 종합병원 소아정신과, 재활의학센터, 발달 장애 클리닉 등에서 2010년에서 2015년까지 ASD로 진단을 받은 만 1세에서 5세까지의 영유아 어머니 72명을 대상으로 실시되어 축적된 한국판 부모 양육 스트레스 척도(K-PSI)와 다면적 인성검사 II(MMPI-2) 자료를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 결과 : 양육 스트레스 총점과 부모영역은 MMPI-2의 여러 임상 척도들과 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈지만, 아동영역은 유의한 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. 또한, 양육 스트레스 총점 수준에 따른 심리적 증상의 차이를 검증한 결과, 위험 수준 집단이 정상 범위 집단보다 MMPI-2의 임상 척도 중 건강염려증(Hs), 우울(D), 편집증(Pa), 강박증(Pt), 조현병(Sc)이 유의하게 높았다. 양육 스트레스 부모영역에서는 위험 수준 집단이 정상 범위 집단보다 MMPI-2의 임상 척도 중 건강염려증(Hs), 우울(D), 히스테리(Hy), 반사회성(Pd), 편집증(Pa), 강박증(Pt), 조현병(Sc), 경조증(Ma), 내향성(Si)이 유의하게 높았다. 반면에 양육 스트레스 아동영역에서 위험 수준 집단과 정상 범위 집단 간의 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 결론 : 양육 스트레스 총점과 부모영역에서 위험 수준 집단의 심리적 증상이 유의하게 높았다는 것을 확인하였다.

유아의 일상적 스트레스가 문제행동에 미치는 영향 : 취업모 양육태도의 매개효과 (Effects of Child's Daily Stress on Child's Problem Behaviors : The Mediating Effects of Employed Mothers Nurture Attitude)

  • 본 연구는 유아의 일상적 스트레스와 취업모의 양육태도가 유아의 문제행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 유아의 일상적 스트레스와 유아의 문제행동에 취업모의 양육태도는 매개역할을 하는지 알아보고자 한다. 연구를 위하여 "D"시에 소재한 어린이집에 다니는 만 3~6세 유아와 그들을 자녀로 둔 160명의 취업모였다. 연구를 위하여 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 상관관계를 분석하였고, 유아의 성별에 따라 일상적 스트레스와 취업모의 양육태도, 문제행동(공격성, 주의집중, 불안/우울)에 미치는 영향력을 알아보기 위하여 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남아의 문제행동 중 공격성과 주의집중은 취업모의 강압적 양육태도와, 불안/우울은 논리적 양육태도, 불안/좌절감 경험 자존감 상함 스트레스에 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째 여아의 문제행동 중 공격성은 취업모의 강압적 양육태도와, 주의집중은 불안/좌절감 경험 스트레스, 강압적 논리적 양육태도와, 불안/우울은 비난/공격적 상황 스트레스, 강압적 양육태도에 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 유아의 성별에 따른 일상적 스트레스와 문제행동 간의 취업모 양육태도의 매개효과는 남아의 경우 매개역할을 하지 않았고, 여아는 매개역할을 하였다. 그러므로 어머니는 강압적이거나 방임적인 양육태도보다는 상호보완적인 논리적 양육태도를 증진시켜 자녀가 일상생활에서 보이는 스트레스를 낮추고 문제행동을 감소시키는 것이 필요하다고 여겨진다.

유아의 창의적 행동특성과 어머니의 지지적 양육행동간의 관계 (The Relationship between Young Children's Creative Behaviors and Mothers' Supportive Child-Rearing Behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the creative behavior characteristics of 4-5 year olds and to investigate the relationship between these characteristics and the mothers' supportive child-rearing behaviors. The subjects were 125 pairs of young children and their mothers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The major results of this study were as follows. First, young children were rated to show uniqueness, openness, sensitivity, playfulness, and perseverance as creative behavior characteristics by their teacher. There were no significant differences between creative behavior characteristics of boys and girls. Second, the more mother used supportive child-rearing behaviors, the higher their children's creative behavior characteristics were estimated.

어머니의 양육스트레스 및 유아의 기질적 까다로움과 문제행동과의 관계에서 탄력성의 중재효과 (The Moderating Effects of Preschoolers' Resilience on the Relationships between Parenting Stress, Preschoolers' Difficult Temperament and Problematic Behaviors)

  • Objective: This study investigated the relationships between preschoolers' difficult temperament, resilience, problematic behaviors, and maternal parenting stress. In addition, the research examined the moderating effects of resilience on the relationships between maternal parenting stress, preschoolers'difficult temperament and problematic behaviors Methods: The participants were 200 four to six year olds attending kindergartens and daycare centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, or Gangwon-do. Mothers completed the questionaries to measure children's temperament, parenting stress, and problem behaviors. Children's resilience was assessed by teacher ratings. Results: Significant correlations were found among maternal parenting stress, preschoolers' difficult temperament and problematic behaviors. Moreover, resilience moderated the associations between difficult temperament and problematic behaviors but it did not moderate the relation between maternal parenting stress and problematic behaviors. Conclusion/Implications: The results suggest that it is necessary to provide comprehensive intervention to reduce maternal parenting stress and improve preschoolers'resilience in order to prevent their problematic behaviors.

어머니의 양육태도와 장애유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계 (The Relationship between Maternal Parenting Attitudes and Social Competence in Preschool Children with Disabilities)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between maternal parenting attitudes and social competence in preschool children with disabilities. Among 3-to 7-year-old preschool children with disabilities in Daegu, 121 pairs of mother-child subjects were selected. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in the control area of maternal parenting attitudes on PMT according to child's age. Second, there were significant differences in the teacher ratings of social competence according to the severity of disability, child's age and father's education level. Third, the creativity area of maternal attitudes was significantly correlated with social competence.

유아의 기질 및 어머니의 양육행동과 모자 애착행동간의 관계 (Relationships between Patterns of Attachment, Temperament, and Their Mothers' Parenting Behavior among Kindergarten Children)

  • This study aimed (1) to classify Korean kindergarten childrens' attachment to their mothers based on a system for classifying attachment organization developed by Main and Cassidy (1988), and (2) to investigate the relationship of attachment and temperament and mothers' child rearing behavior. 76 kindergarteners and their mothers were observed and videotaped in the strange situation. The modified PTQ(Parent and Teacher Temperament Questionnaire) for children 3-7 years of age and the IPBI(Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Mother Form) were administered respectively to 76 mothers to assess their parenting behavior and their children's temperament. The data were analyzed by percentiles, Pearson's correlations, and canonical correlation analysis. Results indicated that there was a little difference between the attachment classification of Main and Cassidy(1988) and that of Korean kindergarten children. There were significant correlations between children's temperament and the attachment to their mother. And mothers' parenting behavior was significantly related to the security of attachment. The canonical correlation analysis indicated that independent variables all together accounted for about 7.5% of the variation in attachment-variables.
