The Impact of Day-care Center Organizational Characteristics on Teacher Efficacy (어린이집 조직특성이 교사효능감에 미치는 영향 - 교사경력 5년을 기준으로 -)

  • This study examined the effects of day-care center organizational characteristics on teacher efficacy. The participants of this study were 319 day-care center teachers who work in the Seoul-Gyeonggi area. The results of this study are as follows: First, day-care center teacher efficacy shows the difference depending on the teachers' career. Second, teachers' efficacy was influenced by day-care center organizational characteristics. In particular, it appeared that 'challenge' and 'distinction of role' affect teacher efficacy when the career of the teacher is less than 5 years. And it appeared that 'challenge', 'distinction of role' and 'retraining' affect teacher efficacy when the career of the teacher is more than 5 years. We discussed organizational characteristics for improving teacher efficacy and suggested the implication for retraining teachers and supervision to promote teacher efficacy based on the results.

Analysis of The Main Causes of The Effect of The Job Satisfaction to The System Absorption of The Childcare Teachers (보육교사 직무만족이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향요인 분석)

  • This study has examined how the childcare teachers have been evaluating themselves on system absorption who have been working in the house of the children at the time when the sight of the society has been expanding to the house of the children through the spread of the understanding of the importance of the role and the strengthening of the leadership of the diverse types of the leadership of the childcare teachers in the house of the children, and also this study has observed the main causes affecting such situations. This study has also analyzed the main causes such as the cause of self understanding on job satisfaction of the children's house teachers, the cause of self understanding on the leadership of the principal, demographic characters, and characters related with the place of work affecting the system absorption(Emotional Absorption, Normative absorption, and lasting absorption) with the children's house teachers as the objects working in the area of the City of Seoul. The results of the analysis have showed that job satisfaction, individual consideration, intellectual stimulation, giving motive, age, schooling, type and scale of facility, grade and others have been appeared to have been significantly affecting the self evaluation on system absorption demographically. In other words, the child care teachers have had higher degree of reaction to the system absorption in affirmative direction when they come into contact with the leadership of the principal in raising the intellectual stimulation, providing the motivation, and giving consideration individually, and when they have higher evaluation on the job satisfaction they them selves understand. Based on such results the principal of the house of the children should spread the leadership for the careful operation of the house of the children for the teachers more positively, and what has been required was giving and developing the diverse operation service for the elevation of the job satisfaction of the childcare teachers.

Relationships among Servant leadership perceived by early childhood teacher, Teacher Development Stage and Organizational Effectiveness (유아 교사가 지각하는 서번트 리더십과 교사발달단계와 조직효과성과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of servant leadership, teacher development stage and organizational effectiveness. Subjects in this study were 259 teachers working at kindergartens and child care centers in Seoul and the Capital area of Korea. Servant Leadership Questionnaire(Kim, 2004), Teacher Development Stage Questionnaire(Lee, 2007), Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(Kim, 1998), Job Satisfaction Questionnaire(Kim, 2007), Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire(Noh, 2001), and Job Performance Questionnaire(Kim, 1983) were used. Descriptive statistics, T-tests, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. Results showed that servant leadership, teacher development stage and organizational effectiveness were highly correlated with one another. Variables of servant leadership and teacher development were significant predictors of organizational effectiveness. Conclusions suggest that organizational effectiveness was multiply determined.

Mix Research Regarding Influence Factors of Burnout of Child Care Teachers: Based on Meta-Analysis and In-depth Interview (보육교사 소진의 영향요인에 관한 혼합연구: 메타분석과 심층인터뷰를 중심으로)

  • Objective: This research draws synthesized and objected results regarding the factors that influence burnout of child care teachers. The purpose for this is to understand in-depth of the burnout child care teachers experience at site through understanding their experience in depth. Methods: A mix research method including meta-analysis and in-depth interview was proceeded. Results: The main factor of burnout of the child care teacher is structural characteristics factor. Also through in-depth interview 13 main subjects and 28 detailed subject were found in the factors that affect burnout of child care teachers. Most factors which were meaningful results from the meta-analysis were re-confirmed through the in-depth interview. Out of those, the most effective sub-factor showed psychological factor of self-esteem. Conclusion/Implications: Based on these results, we have suggested child care environment unification, training education process for child care teachers, reinforcement of qualification standard, and accreditation system in order to enhance qualitative child care service and reduce exhaustion of child care teachers.

Job Satisfaction of Occupational Therapists Working in Sensory Integration Treatment Setting (감각통합치료 세팅에서 일하는 작업치료사의 직무만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Objective : The aim of the study was to investigate the job satisfaction of occupational therapists(OTs) who work in sensory integration treatment setting, and to analysis for factors influencing the satisfaction. Methods : Data were obtained from 62 OTs who had registered Korean Academy of sensory integration through a survey. Results 1 : Job satisfaction according to general characters: OTs who were above 35 years old and take the treatment course for sensory integration felt the highest total job satisfaction. OTs who are above 35 years old and have clinical experience under 12 month felt the highest salary satisfaction. OTs who are under 25 years old felt the highest promotion satisfaction. Female OTs felt higher colleagues relationship satisfaction than male OTs. 2. Job satisfaction according to work environment: OTs who work with 5 to 10 colleagues and work at private clinic felt the highest total job satisfaction. OTs who spend time treating patients more than 45 hours per week and work at private clinic. OTs who work with 5 to 10 colleagues felt the highest promotion and institute satisfaction. OTs who work at the disabled children care center considered change their job more than others. Conclusions : To improve job satisfaction of OTs, we need to consider size of organization, type of institutes. And we have to define role and specialty of OTs who work in various sensory integration treatment setting.
