부모의 양육가치와 양육신념이 유아의 행동문제에 미치는 영향 (Influence of parents' parenting values and beliefs on preschoolers' problem behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify that parents' values and beliefs in bringing up their children deeply relate to their children's problem behaviors, The subjects are 267 preschoolers attending kindergarten in Daegue area, Statistical techniques are Two Way ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's Correlation and Regression, The results of this study are as follows: (1) Problem behaviors of preschoolers are significantly related to parents' values, Preschoolers whose parents have a higher level of values have a lower level of problem behaviors. (2) Problem behaviors of preschoolers are significantly related to parents' beliefs, Preschoolers whose parents have a higher level of beliefs have a higher level of problem behaviors. (3) The Multiple Regression analysis shows that parents' parenting values and beliefs are crucially predictive of preschoolers' problem behaviors. Especially, parents' parenting beliefs is more relevant to preschoolers' problem behaviors than parents' parenting values is.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between parental childrearing attitude and parental childrearing behavior and the effect of parental childrearing attitude and parental childrearing behavior on children's self-efficacy. The subjects included 293 children from the 4th grade to the 6th grade in two elementary schools in Seoul and Incheon. The results were as follows: First, the subjects recognized the difference between parental childrearing attitude and parental childrearing behavior; Second, the children's self-efficacy varied depending upon the style of parental childrearing attitude and the level of recognition of parental childrearing attitude by the children; Third, the children's self-efficacy varied depending upon the style of parental childrearing behavior and the level of recognition of parental childrearing behavior by the children. Several suggestions were made concerning future parental childrearing attitude and parental childrearing behavior.

  • The purpose or this study was to examine the effect or maternal parenting experience, mediated by maternal depression, marital conflict, and parenting behavior, on school children's maladjustment. The theoretical model was specified and estimated. Subject of this study consisted of 637 mothers having elementary students(from 5th to 6th grade) drawn from 4 elementary schools in Cheong-ju city. Maternal parenting experience in childhood had an indirect effect on school children's maladjustment mediated by maternal depression. Maternal permissive parenting experience had more strong relationship with maternal depression rather than authoritative parenting behavior. Maternal depression, marital conflict, parenting behavior were directly effected on school children's maladjustment. Maternal depression were significantly effected on children's maladjustment indirectly mediated by marital conflict and parenting behavior Maternal depression was the most important factor predicting marital conflict, parenting behavior, and school children's Maladjustment.

양육효능감의 매개 역할 : 양육행동의 인과관계 모형 (The Mediational Role of Korean Mothers' Parenting Self-Efficacy : The Causal Relations Model of Parenting Behaviors)

  • This study investigated causal relations between mother's parenting, self-efficacy, perceived social support, stress, and parenting behaviors, Child's temperament, and the mediational role of mother's parenting self-efficacy. Participants were 404 Korean children and their mothers living in Seoul, Korea. Results showed that mother's parenting self-efficacy was positively related to mother's Warmth-Acceptance, social support, and child's temperament. On the other hand, mother's parenting self-efficacy was negatively related to. mother's Rejection-Restriction, mother's Permissiveness-Nonintervention, and mother's stress. Structural equation modeling indicated that mother's parenting self-efficacy was a significant mediator of the relation between mother's perceived social support and stress, child's temperament, and mother's parenting behaviors including Warmth-Acceptance, Rejection-Restriction and Permissiveness-Nonintervention Child's temperament had an indirect effect on mother's Rejection-Restriction and Permissiveness Nonintervention.

유아기 어머니의 놀이성, 놀이지지신념 및 양육스트레스가 친밀양육행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Playfulness, Play Support Beliefs and Parenting Stress on Intimate Parenting in Mothers of Young Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of playfulness, play support beliefs and parenting stress on intimate parenting in the mothers of young children by maternal employment. In order to achieve this, 405 mothers of young children, aged 3-5 years old, participated in a self-reported survey. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics using SPSS 19.0 and structural equation modeling and multigroup analysis using AMOS 21.0. The results of this study showed that the mothers' support beliefs and parenting stress mediated both playfulness and intimate parenting irrespective of maternal employment. Interestingly, the unemployed mothers' playfulness had direct effects on intimate parenting whereas the playfulness of the employed mothers did not. Lastly, the effects of the mothers' play support beliefs, playfulness, and parenting stress on intimate parenting did not differ between employed and unemployed mothers.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) relationships among mothers' attachment experience in childhood, mothers' personality characteristics, and parenting stress and parenting behavior; (2) whether mothers' personality characteristics mediate the relationship between mothers' attachment experience in childhood and parenting stress; and (3) whether mothers' personality characteristics mediate the relationship between mothers' attachment experience in childhood and parenting behavior. The subjects were 177 mothers with preschool children, and the data were collected with questionnaires. It was found that there are correlations among mothers' attachment experience in childhood, mothers' personality characteristics, parenting stress, and parenting behaviors(autonomy encouragement, and rejection). It was found that mothers' attachment experience in childhood predicts mothers' parenting stress, but the relationship is mediated by mothers' personality characteristics. It was also found that mothers' attachment experience in childhood predicts mothers' parenting behavior, but the relationship is mediated by mothers' personality characteristics.

  • Purpose: This study was done to build and test a theoretical model that could be used to explain and predict parenting behavior of mothers with preschool children. Methods: The participants were 298 mothers with preschool children. Data were analyzed using the SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures) programs. Results: Parenting stress showed a direct effect on parenting satisfaction. Parenting efficacy showed a direct effect on parenting behavior. Parenting stress showed an indirect effect on parenting behavior. Parenting efficacy was found to mediate the relationship between parenting stress and parenting behavior. Income and mother's perfectionism had an impact on parenting behavior. Conclusion: The outcomes of this study indicate the necessity of designing intervention programs that emphasize increasing parenting efficacy in order to increase positive parenting behavior.

  • This study investigated the relations between young children's self-esteem and mother's parenting self-efficacy, husband support, parenting behavior, and mothers' depression, focusing on the mediational role of mother's parenting self-efficacy and behavior. Participants were 762 young child-mother dyads in Busan and Gyungnam, Korea. Mothers were Korean and female international marriage immigrants from China, Philippines, and Vietnam. Questionnaires were based on Choe and Chung (2001), Hong (1995), Shin (1996), Lee and Song (1991), and Lee (1994). Structural equation modeling indicated that parenting self-efficacy and parenting behavior were significant mediators of the relation between husband support and depression and child's self-esteem in Korea mothers, but in female international marriage immigrants. The results will be helpful for understanding parenting for child self-esteem in both groups.

아버지 양육참여 변화 유형에 따른 자녀의 문제행동 및 어머니의 심리적 특성 차이 비교: 잠재계층성장모형 적용을 중심으로 (Influences of Father's Involvement in Parenting on Child's Problematic Behaviors and Mother's Psychological Well-being: Focused on Latent Classes Growth Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자녀 출생부터 5년까지의 아버지 양육참여의 변화 궤적에 따른 잠재집단을 확인하고, 확인된 잠재집단에 따라 자녀의 문제행동 및 어머니의 양육스트레스, 부부갈등, 결혼만족도, 우울에 차이가 있는지 확인하는 것이다. 한국아동패널 1차년도(2008년)에서 5차년도(2012년)까지 자료의 1,316명 데이터를 분석하였으며, 잠재계층성장분석과 다변량분산분석을 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 2차 함수 모형에 기초한 잠재계층성장분석을 통해 어머니가 지각한 아버지의 양육참여 변화 유형은 '최저수준 무변화형 집단', '중수준 감소형 집단', '중상수준 변동형 집단', '최상수준 변동형 집단'의 네 유형이 확인되었다. 본 연구에서 확인한 잠재집단의 특징은 아버지 양육참여 수준이 가장 낮은 집단의 경우 양육참여 수준의 변화가 잘 나타나지 않으며, 아버지의 양육참여 수준이 높은 집단의 경우에도 자녀가 네 살이 되는 시점부터는 양육참여 수준이 감소한다는 것이다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육참여 수준이 지속적으로 감소하는 '중수준 감소형 집단'이 아버지 참여수준이 제일 높은 '최상수준 변동형 집단'보다 자녀의 외현화 문제행동이 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, '최저수준 무변화형 집단'과 '중수준 감소형 집단'이 '중상수준 변동형 집단'과 '최상수준 변동형 집단'보다 어머니의 양육스트레스, 부부갈등, 우울 수준은 높은 반면, 결혼만족도는 '최상수준 변동형 집단', '중상수준 변동형 집단', '중수준 감소형 집단', '최저수준 무변화형 집단' 순으로 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 아버지 양육참여의 변화 특성이 자녀뿐 아니라 어머니의 삶에 많은 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사하며, 아버지 양육참여를 촉진하기 위한 사회적 노력과 정책적 개입이 필요함을 시사한다.
