Switching Method of 3-phase Interleaved Bidirectional DC-DC Converter to Achieve High Efficiency in Wide Load Range (넓은 부하영역에서 고효율을 얻기 위한 3상 인터리브드 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터의 스위칭 기법)

  • This paper deals with a switching method of a three-phase interleaved bidirectional DC-DC converter to obtain high efficiency in wide load range. The proposed soft-switching method provides ZVS and ZCS at turn-on, and ZVS at turn-off of the switch as well as considerably reduced conduction loss in light load. Simulation and experiment are carried out with a bidirectional DC-DC converter having the power rating of 3 [kW], and those results show the validity of the proposed switching method.

  • Bidirectional DC-DC converters allow transfer of power between two dc sources, in either direction. Due to their ability to reverse the direction of flow of power, Dey are being increasingly used in many applications such as battery charge/dischargers, do uninterruptible power supplies, electrical vehicle motor drives, aerospace power systems, telecom power supplies, etc. This Paper Proposes a new bidirectional Sepic/Zeta converter. It has low switching loss and low conduction loss due to auxiliary communicated circuit and synchronous rectifier operation, respectively Because of positive and buck/boost-like DC voltage transfer function(M=D/1-D), the proposed converter is very desirable for use in distributed power system. The proposed converter also has both transformer-less version and transformer one.

  • In this paper a new asymmetrical PWM bidirectional half bridge converter is proposed. The proposed converter has simple structure and wide duty cycle range, and therefore is suitable for applications such as fuel cells which have wide voltage variation. With the proposed asymmetrical PWM method the current rating of switch and transformer is significantly reduced compared to the conventional phase angle control method, and ZVZCS and synchronous rectification can also be achieved. This could result in high efficiency and high power density. The proposed converter is analytically compared to the conventional converter, and the proposed method was validated through the experiment.

  • 제안하는 모듈을 기반한 고승압 및 고용량 DC/DC 컨버터는 직류 탭리액터를 인터리브드 형태와 결합한 승압형 컨버터를 모듈화하여 변압기 턴비를 작게 할 수 있고 스택을 통해 고승압에 유리하다. 연료전지 응용분야에 적용가능하며 추후 양방향제어를 통하여 전기자동차와 같은 견인구동 응용분야에도 적용할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

  • The paper presents a non-isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter for use in renewable power generation, battery, electric vehicles (EV) and small scale DC-UPS systems. In the propose design, the conventional interleaved operation of two-inductor boost structure is modified to accommodate bidirectional operation, and zero-voltage-transition (ZVT) is applied, where both the switch and the rectifier diode achieve soft condition without increasing their voltage and current stresses. The proposed converter has the merits of simple circuitry, reduced size, low cost and high efficiency. The operation principle of the converter is analyzed and verified. Also, simulation results of the proposed bidirectional dc-dc converter is shown.

  • In this paper, For achieving the high gain and resonant characteristics in both of the power flow directions, a bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter with auxiliary switches is proposed. Auxiliary switches are connected in the primary and secondary side of the bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter, respectively. A 800W prototype bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter for interfacing the 400V DC buses in the energy storage system is built and tested to verify the validity and applicability of this proposed converter.

  • 본 논문은 active neutral-point clamped (A-NPC) 컨버터를 이용한 이차 전지 충방전 시스템 설계 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 계통 전압의 정류를 위한 필터와 3-레벨 NPC 컨버터, 이차 전지 충방전을 위한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터로 구성된다. 그러나 기존의 NPC 컨버터는 IGBT의 스위칭 손실이 특정 소자에 집중되어 스위칭 주파수를 높이는데 한계를 갖는 다. 본 논문은 손실 불균형 문제를 해결하기 위해 기존의 NPC 컨버터 대신 A-NPC 컨버터를 적용하며 이를 위한 변조 방법을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 변조 방법에 따른 IGBT의 손실 및 온도 분포에 대한 분석 결과를 제시하며 제안하는 이차 전지 충방전 시스템의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • In this paper, soft switching bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed. The proposed topology is added two auxiliary switches, two resonant capacitors and one resonant inductor to convectional bidirectional DC-DC converter. Therefore, this proposed topology can reduce switching loss of each power switch by ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) and ZCS (Zero Current Switching). We have performed mode analysis, simulation and experiment for the proposed topology.

  • This study deals with a bidirectional interleaved soft switching DC-DC converter for a wide range of input voltages. The proposed converter operates in complementary switching with the purpose of inductor size reduction and zero-voltage switching (ZVS) operation. The current ripple related to complementary switching is minimized by three-phase interleaved operation. The main characteristics of the proposed topology are its soft-switching method of operation and its simple structure. The soft-switching operation and the system efficiency of the proposed converter are verified by experimental results.

  • This paper deals with a switching method to minimize the current ripple component of 3-phase interleaved bidirectional DC-DC converter for charging and discharging of the battery. The characteristics of the output current ripple in 3-phase and 2-phase operation modes according to the variation of battery voltage is analyzed and a phase conversion method for minimizing the magnitude of the current ripple is proposed. The proposed method can extend the light load range because the switching frequency is lower than that of a 3-phase operating system. Simulation and experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed method.
