  • This study presents that effect of anchor plate on concrete breakout strength was evaluated. The addition of the anchor plate is to improve the concrete breakout capacity for a single anchor system in a thin-walled concrete panel (Insulated concrete sandwich wall panel). In this study, an elasticity-based simplified model was developed and used to predict effect on the anchor plate. Flexural stresses of the plate with respect to the concrete breakout strength obtained from CCD (Capacity Concrete Design) approach were compared with the test results. Through the test results, while the concrete breakout strength was improved due to increment of the width and thickness of the anchor plate, improvement of the strength was steadily declined. In addition, the It was observed that the analytical and experimental flexure of the anchor plate was comparatively in good agreement using the simplified elastic analysis model.

  • Precast concrete segment arch system has an economic and construct ability that combined with advantage of precast concrete and arch behavior. A precast concrete segment arch system with outrigger is consisted of segmented precast panels, a steel outrigger rib, and V-strip to connect precast panels with a steel outrigger rib and cast-in-place anchors in precast panels to connect V-strip should have sufficient pull-out capacity to form its arch shape by site lifting for assembled precast panels and outriggers. However, it is difficult to secure its embedment depth due to the relatively shallow thickness of precast panel. It can be also occurred that flexure deformation of precast panels caused by its pull-out behaviors. In this study, pull-out capacity of cast-in-place anchor was examined for construction of precast concrete segment arch system with outriggers. Therefore, a total of 24 precast panel specimens were fabricated to examine pull-out capacities of cast-in-place anchor in precast panels, and installation depth of anchors, diameter of anchors and wire mesh effects for the precast panel were examined. From this pull-out tests, its pull-out capacities and failure modes were evaluated and the type of the cast-in-place anchor applicable to the precast concrete segment panel arch system with outriggers was determined from comparison of the design specification values.

  • Ring-type steel fibers (RSFs) of the closed circular shape, have different resistance mechanisms other than straight steel fibers. RSFs also maintain the same value of the orientation factor for the plane enclosed by the fiber ring perimeter. In this research, comparative studies were performed for the panels reinforced with RSFs and with straight steel fibers of $15kg/m^3$ and $30kg/m^3$, respectively. Resisting mechanisms of RSFs were identified and higher toughness indices were experimentally observed for the concrete panels reinforced with RSFs than with straight steel fibers. Orientation factor for the RSF was suggested. It was found that RSFs were more effective in increasing toughness for the panel specimens with relatively thinner thickness than beam specimens.

  • This study was initiated to develop a precast polymer concrete production method and to describe an criterion for the optimum thickness of precast polymer concrete by a series of experiment and structural analysis. Nine specimens with different thickness and steel bar reinforcement were prepared and tested and analyzed with respect to structural behaviors. Cracking moment was mostly affected by the thickness but steel reinforcement seemed not to have effect on the moment. Data of the study could be widely applied in designing and planning of production processes of many polymer concrete products of which all or some of components are composed with thin panels.
