Urinary Excretion of Vanillylmandelic Acid in Rabbits

  • 가토뇨중(家兎尿中) Vanillylmandelic Acid(VMA)배설양(排泄量)의 변화(變化)에서 약물반응(藥物反應)과 circadian rhythm을 추구(追求)하기 위(爲)하여 가토(家兎)에 대(對)해 각종(各種) stress를 가(加)하고, 이에 의(依)한 VNA치(値) 증가(增加)에 대(對)한 유효성(有?性)을 몇가지 약제(藥劑)에서 찾기 위(爲)해 전기(電氣) stress를 미리 가(加)한 가토(家兎)에 대(對)하여 투여(投與)하고 이들 뇨중(尿中) VMA치(値)를 측정(測定)해 하였다. 정상상태(正常狀態)의 가토(家兎) 1일뇨중(日尿中)의 VMA치(値)는 평균(平均) $19.17{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$였다. 전기(電氣) stress를 가(加)한 가토뇨중(家兎尿中)의 VMA치(値)는 평균(平均) $28^{\cdot}87{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 가장크게 증가(增加)하였고, 소음(騷音) stress를 가(加)하였더니 평균(平均) $27.39{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 증가(增加)하였으며, 조명(照明) stress를 가(加)했을때는 평균(平均) $19.10{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 거의 변화(變化)가 없었다. 전기(電氣) stress를 가(加)한 가토(家兎)에 reserpine을 투여(投與)했더니 평균(平均) VMA치(値)가 $18.90{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 배설억제효과(排泄抑制?果)가 가장 좋았고, 산조인탕(酸棗仁湯)을 투여(投與)했을때 평균(平均) $25.76{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 억제(抑制)되었으며, 인삼(人蔘)엑기스를 투여(投與)했을때 평균(平均) $28.14{\times}10^{-2}mg/24hrs$로 효과(效果)가 거의 없었다.

Statuses and Perspectives of Herbicides Development Against Herbicide-Resistant Weeds in Paddy Field of Korea (논 제초제 저항성 잡초 발생에 따른 제초제 개발 현황과 방향)

  • The widespread and diverse sulfonylurea (SU) resistance problem has found in Korea, where one-shot-treatment herbicides such as pylazosulfuron/molinate and bensulfuron/molinate have been used continuously since 1989. The SU-resistant weeds of 7 annual weeds and 3 perennial weeds as of 2008 have confirmed in paddy fields in Korea. An effective management to SU-resistant weeds requires an integrated approach toward the weed control system, in particular, as to the drastic changes of herbicides development. Recent trend of new paddy herbicides in Japan has been developing to maximize the management of SU-resistant weeds. In the future, it is expected that the development of paddy herbicides in Korea is likely to be shifted toward the new "one-shot-treatment" included with herbicides of over 3-ways to maximize the control of resistant weeds. Bromobutide and carfentrazone are effective against sedges and broad-leaved weeds, respectively, and benzobicyclone and pyrimisulfam are effective against sedges and broad-leaved weeds.

Studies on Varietal Resistance to Sheath Blight Disease in Rice IV. Varietal Difference in Disease Severity and Grain Yield Loss (벼 품종의 잎집무늬마름병 저항성연구 IV. 발병정도와 수량감소률의 품종간 차이)

  • Rice varieties showing different degree of resistance were compared with their yield losses due to the damage of sheath blight disease in field condition through 1985 to 1986. Gayabyeo showed the lowest value of disease severity among 5 varieties tested in 1985 and 8 in 1986. and Taebaekbyeo, Kwanakbyeo and Labelle showed higher value of disease severity under the condition of artificial or natural disease inoculation. Grain yield of Gayabyeo, a moderate resistant rice variety, was reduced by 0.3 to 5% in the rate due to sheath blight disease damage and Taebaekbyeo. a susceptible variety. showed the highest in the rate of yield loss, 6.8 to 25.8 %. The matured grain rate and 1000-grain weight of the matured tiller were decreased when the developing disease lesion reached to the flag leaf, and then panicle weight was decreased more than 25 % compared with panicle of healthy culm. In conclusion, Gayabyeo showed the lower rate of yield loss because of slow development of disease to the upper leaves after initial disease occurence on the lower parts of rice plants.

Variation in Metalaxyl and Streptomycin Sulfate Resistance of Isolates Formed from Single Sporangium of Phytophora infestans (감자역병균(Phytophthora infestans)의 단일 포자낭으로부터 형성된 균총의 Metalaxyl과 Streptomycin Sulfate 내성 변화)

  • Parent isolates and $first-generation(F_1)$ progenies from single-sporangium of Phytophthora infestans were investigated for the acqusition of metalaxyl and streptomycin sulfate(SM) resistance. The parent isolates, KM10, U6, CDB6 showed resistance to metalaxyl, and F817, DNC303, DN107 to SM. Especially, the average mycelial growth of $F_1$ progenies of F817, CDB6, JD1 was more than 51% than parent isolates on 25ppm metalaxyl added V-8 juice agar, whereas those of KM10, U6, JD1 were extended more than 51% similar on 200ppm SM treatment. They acquired resistance on the basis of the standard in this experiment. There were positive correlations between parent isolates and $F_1$colonies in resistance. The $F_1$ colonies obtained from parent isolates showing above interinediate resistance on metalaxyl amended agar acquired much resistance.

  • 이비인후과 영역에 있어서 위산 역류에 의한 질환의 진단은 쉽지 않고 분명하지 않은 점이 많지만, 병변의 영향은 광범위하며, 실제로 역류에 의한 증상을 가지고 내원하는 환자도 증가하는 추세이다. 인후두역류질환의 치료는 크게 생활습관의 변경, 약물복용, 항역류수술로 나눌 수 있으며, 사용약제는 크게 두 부류로 나누는데, 제산제, H2 수용체 차단제, PPI(Proton Pump Inhibitor) 제제와 같은 산억제 약물군과 Prokinetic 약물군이다. Rabeprazole sodium(Pariet(R))은 PPI 제제에 해당하는 약제로 기존의 omeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole과는 달리 대사 과정 중 CYP2C19에 대한 의존도가 낮아, 개체 간 차이가 적고 빠르고 일정하게 산분비 억제 효과를 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있은 약물이다. 2001년 5월부터 2002년 4월까지 32개 병원에서 Pariet(R) 를 복용한 2166명의 환자를 대상으로 분석하였다. 복용기간에 따라 4군(1군;1-14일, 2군;15-28일, 3군;29-56일, 4군:57일 이상)으로 나누었으며, 8가지 증상(Heart burn, Regurgitation, Chronic cough, Hoarseness, Globus sensation, Chronic throat clearing, Sore throat, Dysphagia)에 대한 호전 여부 및 후두내시경상 개선 정도, 의사에 의한 유용도 평가, 부작용 발생 여부에 대해 연구하였다. 증상개선율 50%이상을 치료 반응군으로 했을때 전체 2166명중 1627명(75.1%)에서 증상의 호전을 보았으며, 이는 복용기간이 길수록 증가하였다. 후두 내시경상 개선 정도는 현저한 개선이 32.9%, 중등도 개선이 38.7%로 대부분 환자에서 객관적인 병변의 호전을 보였으며, 유용도 평가에서는 매우 유용이 37.6%, 유용이 50.3%로 치료효과에 대한 만족도도 높은 것을 알수 있었다. PPI 제제의 부작용으로 보고되고 있는 두통, 오심, 설사, 복통. 변비, 어지럼증. 피곤 중. 소수의 환자가 두통을 호소하였으나, 그다지 심각한 정도는 아니었다. 인후두역류증 치료제로서 Pariet(R) 는 비교적 안전하고 효과가 높은 약물임이 임상 연구 결과 밝혀졌기에 보고하는 바이다.

열무 중 살충제의 잔류농약 분해 특성 연구

  • 열무의 안전한 생산을 위한 생산단계에서의 각 농약 잔류량 변화 추이와 최종 소비단계에서의 농산물 안전성 평가자료로 활용하기 위하여 실제 시험포장에 열무를 파종한 후 수확 10일 전에 4 종(diazinon, endosulfan, cypermethrin, cyhalothrin)의 살충제를 각 성분별로 안전사용 기준에 따라 기준량 및 배량의 처리구에 직접 살포하여 열무의 포장상태에서의 잔류량 감소(생물학적 반감기) 변화를 조사하였다. 각 농약별로 2 수준 농도의 표준물질을 첨가하여 실험한 결과 평균회수율은 diazinon 98.7∼99.9%, endosulfan 97.6∼98.5%, cypermethrin 98.3∼99.6%, cyhalothrin 98.4∼99.1%이였고, 검출한계는 diazinon 및 cypermethrin은 0.04 mg/kg, endosulfan은 0.012 mg/kg, cyhalothrin은 0.01 mg/kg 이었다. 약제 살포 후 분해속도가 빠른 성분은 diazinon > endosulfan > cypermethrin >cyhalothrin 순이었다. 작물체(열무)내에서 시간의 경과에 따른 잔류량의 변화를 1차 반응으로 표현하여 농약 4종의 살포농도별 생물학적 반감기를 산출한 결과, 기준량 살포의 경우 diazinon 0.9일, endosulfan 2.0일, cypermethrin 2.2일, cyhalothrin 2.5일 그리고 배량 살포의 경우에는 diazinon 1.1일, endosulfan 2.0일, cypermethrin 2.1일, cyhalothrin 2.2일로 나타났다. 안전한 농산물 생산을 위한 열무 중 약제 살포 후 수확일은 잔류허용기준(MRL)을 적용시킬 경우 기준량으로 볼 때 diazinon은 6일 후, endosulfan은 10일 후에 수확하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며 합성 피레스로이드계인 cypermethrin과 cyhalothrin은 농약살포 후 2 시간 후에 농약 잔류량이 잔류허용기준 미만으로 나타났다.

Effects of Maleic Hydrazide on the Inhibition of Lateral Shoots Growth in Grapes (MH(Maleic hydrazide)처리가 포도 부초 생장억제 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Spray of maleic hydrazide (MH) was confirmed to be highly effective on the inhibition of lateral shoot growth regardless of grape cultivars and application concentration examined in this experiment. The optimal spray times were 30 days aft er full bloom in 'Kyoho' and 35 days in 'Campbell Early'. However, the optimum season of application should be adjusted depending on the vine vigor. The apical buds of lateral shoot was significantly affected at the concentration of $3,900mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ resulting in the death and/or abscission. Thus the optimal concentration of MH seemed to be $1,950mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$. The inhibition effect by MH application was derive d from the decrease of node number and length. No adverse effect on fruit quality was found by MH application. In contrast, there was a tendency of anthocyanin in crease in 'Campbell Early' grapes. Results indicated that MH could be an effective agent to reduce the labor charge through the inhibition of later shoot growth.

Response to Fungicides of Colletotrichum spp. Isolated from Red Peppers in Sunchang, Korea (순창군 지역의 고추로부터 분리한 탄저병균의 살균제에 대한 반응)

  • In August 2020, 377 anthracnose strains were isolated from anthracnose-infected peppers collected from 25 farms in Sunchang-gun, Jeollabuk-do. Inhibition rate of mycelial growth of 11 pepper anthracnose fungicides registered in Korea was investigated for 62 strains selected by region and the degree of susceptibility to each fungicide was investigated. As a result of the fungicide susceptibility test of anthracnose to the fungicide, no resistant strains were observed in fluazinam, prochloraz manganese, and benomyl, but resistant strains appeared in at least three areas for other fungicides, and all strains in all regions were resistant to dithianon. Through this, it was confirmed that the fungicide resistance was expressed in the strain group due to the continuous treatment of the fungicide in some areas. By region, resistant strains to seven pesticides appeared in Sunchang-eup and Paldeok-myeon, and resistant strains to six pesticides appeared in Geumgwa-myeon, Bokheung-myeon, Ssangchi-myeon, Yudeung-myeon, and Pungsan-myeon. There was no significant correlation between fungicide registration time and emergence of resistant strains.

Effect of Sodium Methyl Arsenate as a Male Gametocide on Rice (Oryza sativa L.) (수도 웅성불임제로서 Sodium Methyl Arsenate의 효과)

  • Sodium methyl arsenate has been evaluated as a male sterilizing agent for the system of producing hybrid rice seeds. The compound was the most effective at the concentration of 0.02%. When applied as a foliar spray to four rice varieties at 15 days before heading, sodium methyl arsenate has produced 99% male sterility. But the most effective time for application of the compound was 5 days before heading because of its phytotoxic effects. Effective application volume of the compound solution has depended on the growth of the plants treated. Varietal difference on the activity of the compound has been detected.

Human Sexuality and Sexual Dysfunction (성(性)생활과 성기능장애)

  • Children above age of two are able to have sexual excitement, and they actively seek the pleasure actively or passively through touch and masturbation. In late $60_s$ and early $70_s$, Masters, obstetrician, and Johnson, social worker, illustrated four phases of human sexual responses, namely excitement, plateau, orgasmic and resolution phases in both sexes, and multiple orgasms in the female. Their treatment principles of sexual dysfunctions were largely based on behavioral model, introducing the concepts of sensate focus, dual therapy and sex education. Following Masters and Johnson, Kaplan, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, in the early and mid-$70_s$ introduced new sex therapy which was based on the combination of analytically-oriented psychotherapy and behavior therapy, and classified sexual dysfunctions into three categories such as desire excitement and orgasmic phase disorders. Since $1980_s$ other medical fields joined the stream, putting the concentrated effort on the treatment of the impotence in the male. They have developed penile prosthesis, local injection therapy, and the administration of oral medications. Nowadays Sildenafil(Viagra) seems the best choice for the treatment of the impotence in the male.
