A Design of Electromagnet Actuator for Active Vibration Control (능동 진동제어용 전자기 액츄에이터 설계)

  • In this paper, we address an actuator system, which suppresses the micro-vibration engaged by environment. The actuator system consists of two modules with a permanent and an electromagnet. In vertical mode, one module is upper the other is lower. For optimal control of alternating vibration, the rate of the attraction force and the repulsion force is exactly one. Generally, the repulsive force is smaller than the attractive force. For linear control of engaged vibration, the ratio of repulsive force and attractive force is designed to equal. The actuator system will be applied to an active vibration control system for precise vibration suppression. In this paper, the actuator structure and its important sizes are calculated by RMS and FEM analysis.

Development of Massage Seat Actuator for Automobile using Electromagnetic Analysis and Simulation (전자기해석 및 시뮬레이션을 적용한 차량용 마사지 시트 액츄에이터 개발)

  • Recently, researches about automobile seat having function to support the comfort to driver and passenger during the driving are conducted in various fields including automobile seat having massage function. The effect of massage depends on the pattern of massage such as time, magnitude, and shape. In this paper, linear motor actuator, which is used as driving method in the automobile massage seat, and electromagnetic analysis method, which is used to improve the magnetic efficiency in the design of autuator, is proposed. Electromagnetic analysis using finite element method is conducted in the design of linear motor actuator. Input voltage shape for massage pattern is calculated by simulation using mathematical model of actuator. Performance test for massage pattern generation is conducted with automobile massage seat having developed actuator and controller. It is verified that developed actuator system is applicable in the automobile massage seat.

Performance Evaluation of Switching Amplifier in Micro-positioning Systems with Piezoelectric Actuator (마이크로 변위제어 시스템의 압전 액츄에이터 구동을 위한 스위칭 증폭기 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, an improved drive method of piezoelectric PZT stack actuator for micro-positioning system is proposed and the performances are evaluated. This type of amplifier is based on switching technology efficiently handling the arbitrary regenerative energy from the piezoelectric actuator. The conventional voltage-feedback control method has the THD of -32dB (${\approx}2.5%$) with 100mHz sinusoidal reference, which means that the positioning performance in linearity degrades due to the hysteretic relationship between actuator voltage and the displacement. This paper proposed an improved charge-controlling method, which utilizes differential information of charge reference instead of integrating the actuator's current. The current waveform has THD under -40dBV (=1%) and the displacement waveform nearly -52dB (${\approx}0.25%$), which means that the positioning performance is very excellent. Finally, another method of the displacement feedback control has better performance than the voltage method, however there exists a limitation in performance of the system.

Focal Length Control of Line-focus Ultrasonic Transducer Using Bimorph-type Bending Actuator (바이몰프형 밴딩 액츄에이터를 이용한 선집속형 초음파 트랜스듀서의 초점 거리 제어)

  • For medical ultrasonic transducer, phase-weighting method has been used for controlling focal length with electric circuit at each vibrating element. However, the electric circuit is complex as the number of vibrating elements is increased. In this paper, we fabricated line-focus transducer with a bimorph-type piezoelectric actuator. The polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric type polymer film is used for transmitting and receiving of ultrasonic signal. Using this transducer, focal length of the transducer can be controlled mechanically by changing voltage of the actuator. It is confirmed that focal length of the transducer can be controlled in range of 1095 to radius of curvature.

  • Undesired vibratory motion of a simply supported plate is controlled with piezoelectric sensors and actuators. Appropriate dynamic equations of the sensor and actuator are derived and coupled with the dynamic equation of the plate for the construction of an active feedback vibration control system. Analytic solutions are obtained for amplitude response of the plate, reflecting the combined effect of external driving forces and piezoelectric control moments. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach for two types of external forces, i.e. a concentrated point load and a piezoelectric plate driver. Calculation results show that the sensors and actuators can be efficient tools to mitigate the sensitivity of the structure to external sources of vibration. The method investigated in this work is applicable to arbitrary external loading conditions and control algorithms.

Control System of Throttle Actrator for TCS (TCS용 스로틀 액츄에이터 제어 시스템)

  • Accurate positioning of a throttle valve is required to implement the traction control system(TCS) which improves acceleration performance in slippery roads. In this research, position control system is developed for the main throttle actuator(MTA) system which uses one throttle actuation for small volume and DC servo motor for fast response. In order to drive DC motor, PWM signal generator and PWM amplifier were built and interfaced to the motor and controller. Digital PID control law is used as basic control algorithm. In order to prevent overshoot and improve accuracy, velocity profiles are generated and implemented whenever the targer throttle angle is given from the TCS controller. Thanks to velocity profiles, the control performance was very good and only one set of PID gains was used to cover the entire operating range. Also, the resolution of position is about 0.4$^{\circ}C$, which is better than that of stepping motor also used as throttle actuator in some products. The response time of the developed system is also fast enough to implement the engine control based TCS algorithm.

  • 적층 액츄에이터는 우수한 압전특성 및 그 재료가 가진 고유한 특성 때문에 최근 이동통신 단말기용 햅틱 소자 및 PC 와 그 주변기기로 수요가 폭발적으로 증대되고 있으며, 향후에도 CATV 네트워크와 무선통신기기를 비롯한 디지털 통신분야로 응용분야가 확대되리라 예상된다. 적층 액츄에이터에서 발생되는 에너지는 세라믹 그린시트 두께와 전극 면적에 비례하여 변위 및 응력이 증가하게 되므로 고적층형에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이러한 고적층 액츄에이터의 경우 소성과정에 서 warpage 및 de-lamination 같은 결함이 발생하기 쉬우므로 그린시트의 균일성 및 전극과의 matching성 확보가 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 슬러리의 분산성과 시트 내 유기물 함량 최적화 실험을 진행하여 적층 액츄에이터용 그린시트를 최적화 한 후 공정 적용성 및 저온소성 전극인 Ag-Pd 전극과의 매칭성을 확보하고자 하였다. 이러한 후막공정 기술 개선을 통해 적층 액츄에이터를 제조하여 압전 특성을 측정하였다.

Electrical properties of multilayer actuator and linear ultrasonic motor using low temperature PZW-PMN-PZT ceramics (저온소결 PZW-PMN-PZT 세라믹을 이용한 적층액츄에이터 및 선형초음파 모터의 전긱적 특성)

  • 압전소자를 이용한 초음파 모터는 전자기적 원리로 동작하는 기존의 모터에 비해 구조가 간단하고 소형, 경량화가 가능하며 저속에서 큰 토크가 가능하고 ${\mu}m$단위 까지 정밀제어가 가능하다는 장점 등으로 인해 그 응용분야가 점차 확대되고 있다. 초음파 모터의 원리는 수평과 수직방향에서 변위가 타원형 운동을 형성하는 것이다. 따라서 선택한 타원운동의 방식에 의해서 모터의 형상이 달라진다. 초음파 모터는 액츄에이터를 사용하여 만들기 때문에 액츄에이터의 특성은 모터의 타원변위나 토크에 영향을 미친다. 단판형 액츄에이터에 비하여 적층 액츄에이터는 입력 임피던스를 낮추어 낮은 구동전압에서 구동이 가능하며 큰 변위와 토크를 발생하기 때문에 진동자의 수명 향상과 구동전압을 낮추기에 적합하다. 적층 액츄에이터는 변위량이나 응력 등을 개선하기 위해서 전기기계 결합계수(kp) 및 압전 d상수가 큰 재료가 요구되며, 고전압에서 장시간 구동 시 마찰에 의한 열손실을 감소시키기 위해 높은 기계적 품질계수(Qm)를 가져야한다. 적층 시 내부전극으로 사용하는 Pd, Pt가 함유된 전극은 가격이 비싸 제조비용을 상승시킨다. 상대적으로 값싼 Ag전극을 사용하면 비용절감을 할 수 있지만 융점이 낮아서 저온소결이 불가피하다. 따라서, 특성이 우수한 적층 액츄에이터를 제조하기 위해서 저손실, 저온소결 할 수 있는 액츄에이터 재료가 필요한 실정이다. L1-B4 혈 선혈 초음파 모터는 L1모드와 B4모드의 공진 주파수가 일치하여야 큰 변위를 얻을 수 있는데 이전의 논문에서 Atila를 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과를 분석한 봐 있다. 적층 액츄에이터의 층수를 5,7,9,11,13,15층으로 하여 L1-B4모드에서의 공진주파수를 비교한 결과 13 층일 때 두 모드가 비슷한 공진주파수를 보였고, 티원변위궤적도 다른 층수에 비해 크게 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션 결과 가장 좋은 특성을 보인 13층 액츄에이터로 선형 초음파 모터를 제작하였다. 또한, 액츄에이터는 압전 및 유전특성이 우수한 저온소결 PZW-PMN-PZT세라믹을 이용하여 제작하였고, 내부전극으로 Ag전극을 사용하였다. 제작된 13 층 선형초음파모터를 가지고 프리로드 및 전압에 따른 속도를 조사하였고, 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교해 보았다.
