Development of Forging Parts for Solar Electrode Body Using Oxygen-Free Copper Material (무산소동 소재를 활용한 태양광 일렉트로드 바디 단조 부품 개발)

  • Forging operations are non-stationary processes occurring because of indirect pressure, generally, under conditions of three-dimensional stress and deformation. Furthermore, due to friction and the constraints of die geometry, deformation is not homogeneous. Material flow and deformation are largely determined by the shape of the tools. It is well known that net-shape forging can improve the mechanical strength of the final product as well as reduce material waste. Oxygen-free copper that is used for electrical and electronic components has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Oxygen-free copper parts have a low productivity in cutting process. Thus, the forging process is performed in order to improve the low productivity in cutting process. The forging of oxygen-free copper for electrode body parts was modeled using finite element simulation and forging experiments that were conducted for producing electrode body parts at room temperature. In order to reduce the cost of cutting products, the forging was performed in a closed cavity to obtain near-net or net-shape parts.

  • Extruded aluminium panels have been widely used for railway vehicle structures because -of their light specific weight and other merits. In the past, GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) were mainly used to join aluminium panels. But recently friction stir welding (FSW) is widely used due to its lots of advantage. In this study aluminium A6005 which is used for car body structures was chosen. The influences of main parameters on mechanical properties such as: pin (tool) rotating speed, pin transition speed, shoulder, diameter, pin length and tilting angle were examined. Optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation, micro hardness tests, and tensile tests were carried out.

  • For extrusion processes in the process industry, the need to build smart factories is increasing. However, in most extrusion production sites, the production method is continuous, and because the properties of the data are undeed, it is difficult to process the data. In order to solve this problem, we present a methodology utilizing a near field communication (NFC) sensor rather than water-based data entry. To this end, a wireless network environment was built, and a data management method was designed. A non-contact NFC method was studied for the production performance-data input method, and an analysis method was implemented using the pivot function of the Excel program. As a result, data input using NFC was automated, obtaining a quantitative effect from reducing the operator's data processing time. In addition, using the input data, we present a case where a bottleneck is improved due to quality problems.

  • 용융탄산염 연료전지(MCFC)는 $650^{\circ}C$에서 작동하는 고온형 연료전지 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 천연가스 등을 개질하여 생산된 수소를 바로 전기로 생산할 수 있는 시스템으로 열효율이 높으며, 현재 대체 발전시스템으로 각광을 받고 있다. MCFC는 개질방식에 따라 내부개질 방식과 외부개질 방식이 있다. 내부개질 방식은 수소를 생산하는 개질기가 스택내부에 장착된 형식으로 천연가스를 스택내부에서 개질하여 바로 전기를 생산하는 방식이다. 이 내부개질반응에 사용되는 촉매로는 알루미나에 담지된 니켈(Ni) 계열촉매이 주로 쓰이고 있다. 또한 내부개질촉매의 형태는 작은 원주형의 촉매형태로 성형되어 사용된다. 이 성형된 촉매의 크기가 바로 내부개질 스택의 크기를 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 그래서 촉매의 크기는 되도록이면 작게 성형하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 촉매의 크기가 너무 작으면 촉매를 성형하는데 큰 어려움이 생기게 된다. 본 연구에서는 니켈 촉매를 공침법이 아닌 균일용액침전법을 이용하여 제조하였으며, 이 촉매를 이용하여 지름이 약 2 mm 이하로 촉매를 압출성형하는 방법을 연구하였다. 먼저 요소(urea)를 이용한 균일용액침전법으로 촉매를 제조하였다. 최적의 촉매 합성조건을 살펴보기 위해서, 반응 온도를 80, 85, 90, 95, $100^{\circ}C$로 변화 시키면서 제조된 촉매의 특성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 촉매의 적절한 니켈 양을 알아보기 위해서 니켈의 양을 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 wt%로 변화 시켰으며, 조촉매로 사용되는 MgO 양을 5, 10, 15, 20 wt%로 변화 시켜서 제조된 촉매의 특성을 살펴보았다. 물성을 비교하기 위해서, X-선 회절분석(XRD) 및 TPR, 물리화학흡착을 하였다. 그 결과 침전반응온도가 $80^{\circ}C$에서 촉매가 가장 좋은 물성을 보였으며, 우수한 개질성능을 보였다. 그리고 촉매 활성물질인 니켈의 함량은 50 wt% 정도가 가장 적절한 함량이었으며, MgO의 함량이 15 wt%일 때 가장 우수한 물성과 개질 성능을 보여주었다. 이 촉매들은 공침법으로 제조된 상용촉매와 비교하였을 때, 보다 우수한 물성과 개질성능 보였다. 그래서 이 촉매를 균일침전법을 이용하여 대량으로 제조한 다음 압출성형 방법을 이용하여 촉매를 원주형으로 제조하였다. 먼저 제조된 촉매는 별도의 분쇄작업(볼밀 혹은 제트밀)을 거치지 않아도 입자사이즈가 약 $4{\mu}m$ 수준이 나오도록 촉매 제조조건을 조절 하였다. 그리고 소량의 Methyl cellulose(MC) 바이더와 물만 사용하여 촉매를 혼합한 다음 스크류 압출기를 이용하여 촉매를 성형하였다. 이 촉매는 지름이 약 2 mm 이하로 제조할 수 있었으며, 기계적 강도는 타정기로 성형한 상용촉매보다 우수하였다. 그리고 촉매 성능 또한 상용촉매와 비교하였을 때, 우수한 성능 보였다. MCFC용 내부개질 촉매로 균일용액침전법을 사용한 촉매가 적합하다고 판단되며, 압출성형에도 적합하다고 판단되었다.

The Establishment of Work Conditions in Plastic Extrusion Process by using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis (중회귀분석을 이용한 플라스틱 압출공정의 작업조건 설정 방법)

  • In the plastic extrusion process, product quality is influenced by work condition for temperature of cylinders and dies. The work conditions are various, so it is difficult to standardization of the work conditions. Therefore, the work conditions are depended on the workers of experience and skill. In the plastic extrusion process, it has five control heating points on the cylinder and three control heating points on the die. In addition, there is one control point on the extrusion process. It is extrusion speed. In this case, we don't know how these affect product quality. We structure the multiple linear regression equation with the temperature of cylinders and dies as independent variables and the product weight as dependent variable. We solve this equation using statistic computer package named Juse-Qcas.

지게차용 마스트레일 $CO_2$ 가스 아아크 용접작용

  • 지계차는 1930 년대에 미국에서 개발되어 세계대전을 통하여 미군의 군수물자 운반에 크게 기 여하므로써 널리 알려진 물자취급(material handling)의 현대적 장비로 팰릿(pallet).컨테이너와 함께 일관수송에 있어서의 커다란 역할을 담당하고 있는 산업용 차량이다. 지계차는 크게 샤 시부분과 작업기 부분으로 구성되는데, 마스트레일은 주로 소형차에서는 생산량이 많기 때문에 압출의 제조공정으로 만들어지고 있으나 대형차는 수량이 적기 때문에 용접구조로 설계되고 있다. 마스트렝리의 중요한 특징을 말하면 (1) 폭에 비하여 길이가 긴 형강구조 (2) 레일 내폭의 공차가 비교적 엄격하다. (3) 용착량이 많아 변형되기 쉽고 일단 변형되면 교정이 어렵다. (4) 원가와 제조공정을 단축시키기 위하여 기계가공 공정을 뒤에 두지 않고 있다. 이상과 같은 특징을 가진 용접구조형 레일을 제작하는데 있어서 실제 적용된 CO2 용접 및 이의 간단한 부 착(attach)에 의한 저투자성 용접자동화 실현과정상의 제문제등을 중심으로 고찰해 보기로 한다.

Quantitative Evaluation of Plasticity and Extension for Extruding Body (압출성형용 소지의 가소성과 연신율의 정량화)

  • When forming the ceramic body with plastic mass, it is needed that a quantitative testing method for plasticity, not only to evaluate the plasticity of a body, but also to control it within limits. Although many testing instruments were introduced, but no handy testing instrument for the plasticity quantitatively has been developed. In this study, modified vicat needle was designed to handily evaluate the plasicity of extruding bodies for honeycomb. The plasticity of three plastic masses was tested with this equipment. Columned needle with 2 mm diameter was adopted to measure the resistance for deformation and spherical needle with 9.5 mm diameter was adopted to measure the amount of deformation before cracking. The plasticity of three tested bodies were clearly distinguished quantitatively each other and the testing results were helpful to evaluated the workability of theses bodies. Probably, it is possible to evaluate the plasticity of various ceramic bodies with this apparatus, if suitable diameters of columns and spheres are selected.

A Case Study on the Release Characteristic and Removal Efficiency of Vinyl Chloride in the Poly Vinyl Chloride Extrusion Process (PVC압출공정의 염화비닐 발생특성과 작업환경개선에 관한 사례연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate characteristic of vinyl chloride emissioned from poly vinyl chloride extrusion process and to evaluate the efficiency of local exhaust ventilation system. Before local ventilation facility was constructed in poly vinyl chloride extrusion process, the average worker exposure to vinyl chloride was 3.15 ppm, which exceeded Threshold Limit Value of American Conference of Gorvernmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH-TLV), 1 ppm. lt is possible that vinyl chloride residues in the poly vinyl chloride resin was released or degased due to extrusion heat. The larger the width of vinyl tube become, the higher worker exposure to vinyl chloride was. It is estimated that vinyl chloride from vinyl chloride resin increased as amount of poly vinyl chloride resin extruded in the extrusion process increased. Canopy hood was an appropriate type for poly vinyl chloride resin extrusion process. This local exhaust ventilation has fan static pressure of 7.65 inch wg($190mmH_2O$, total volumetric flowlate of 4,796 CFM ($135.8m^3$/min) and fan power requirement of 12 hp (8.952 Kw). After this local exhaust ventilation was constructed there, the average concentration of worker exposure to vinyl chloride was reduced to be 0.46 ppm, which was below the Threshold Limit Value, 1 ppm. Also, the removal efficiency rate of vinyl chloride attained by local exhaust ventilation was 85.3%. It was a statistically significant (p<0.01).

  • This paper describes a study on algorithm for the development of machine vision system as well as the inspection of automobile's plastic part locking lever to replace a human worker's eye inspection. Before developing the machine vision system based on the PC, the purpose of this research is to develop the algorithm to decide whether a product is a good/bad one in real time inspection. NI-LabVIEW software is used in the inspection method and an inspection program is developed using LabVIEW Vision image functions. The inspection program was built and validated to help the system operator set up the inspection area and change the criteria number in the program.

  • Additive manufacturing (AM, also known as 3D printing) technology gets attention for various effects in the construction industry. It reveals abilities of process automation, high traceability of resource management, construction period precision improvement, and worker safety. However, unlike the existing construction technology, the development of AM construction process causes trial errors and unpredictable accidents. In the present study, the construction AM process is designed for on-site construction, and it performs with empirical tests. Also, we analyzed the causes of qualitative experimental results.
