Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of PSN-PT-PZ Ceramics Doped with $MnO_2$ ($MnO_2$가 첨가된 PSN-PT-PZ 세라믹의 유전적, 압전적 성질)

  • PSN-PT-PZ 삼성분계 압전세라믹의 상도로부터 유전적, 압전적 특성이 가장 양호한 MPB부근의 조성을 선택하여 MnO$_{2}$를 0-2[wt.%]첨가하였으며 일반소성법으로 시편을 제작하였다. 소결온도는 1,200-1,280[.deg.C], 시간은 0.5-3[hr]까지 변화시켰으며 MnO$_{2}$의 첨가가 시편의 유전적, 압전적 특성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 제작된 시편의 비유전상수는 MnO$_{2}$의 첨가량에 따라 증가하였으며 MnO$_{2}$가 2[wt.%]첨가된 시편 S-15(PSN:PT:PZ, 15:48:37)의 경우 605.41, 큐리온도는 MnO$_{2}$의 첨가량이 증가할수록 선형적으로 감소하였다. 각 시편의 전기기계 결합계수와 유전손실은 MnO$_{2}$의 첨가량이 0.5-1.5[wt.%]범위에서 양호한 특성을 나타내었으며 MnO$_{2}$가 0.5[wt.%] 첨가된 시편 S-5(PSN:PT:PZ, 5:48:47)의 경우 전기기계 결합계수는 0.425로 가장 높은 값을 나타내었다. MnO$_{2}$가 1[wt.%] 첨가된 시편 S-10(PSN:PT:PZ, 10:48:42)에서 공진주파수의 온도의존성이 가장 양호하게 나타났으며 각 시편에 대한 MnO$_{2}$의 첨가량이 증가할수록 결정립 크기는 감소하였다.

  • PSN-PT 2성분계 압전세라믹스의 상도로부터 유전적, 압전적 특성이 양호한 MPB (Morphotropic phase boundary)부근의 조성을 선택하여 도너 도펀트인 $Nb_{2}O_{5}$와 억셉터 도펀트인 $Fe_{2}O_{3}$를 각각 $0{\sim}0.9wt%$ 첨가하여 유전 및 압전특성을 비교, 연구해보았다. 시편모두 $1250^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 이론밀도의 96%이상의 값을 얻을 수 있었고 상온, 1kHz에서 $Fe_{2}O_{3}$의 경우 0.1wt% 첨가된 시편에서 ${\varepsilon}_r$=2054의 최대 비유전율이 나타났으며, 0.7wt% 첨가된 시편에서는 $tan{\delta}$=0.49%의 최소 유전 손실값을 얻었다. $Fe_{2}O_{3}$가 0.1wt%, 0.3wt%로 첨가되었을 때 각각 $K_p$=58%, Qm=222의 값을 얻을 수 있었다.

Output Power characteristics of the Piezoelectric Transformer for LCO Backlight with Piezoelectric and Piezoelectric Properties (유전 및 압전특성에 따른 LCD Backlight용 압전 트랜스포머의 출력전력특성)

  • In this paper, we investigated the output power, step-up ratio and efficiency properties of piezoelectric transformer with dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics of manufactured ceramics. The piezoelectric transformers with $2.0$\times$10$\times$48[$mm^3$] size were fabricated and its electrical properties were measured. When output power of 6W was constantly maintained, T2 piezoelectric transformer showed the minimum temperature rise of $9(^{\circ}C)$ at $150(K\Omega)$ load resistance. However, T1 piezoelecric transformer showed the temperature rise of $7.2(^{\circ}C)$ at $200(K\Omega)$ load resistance. The 6[w] CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) was successfully driven by T1 and T2 piezoelectric transformer but, its temperature rise $\Delta$T[$^{\circ}C)$] was generated more than $20(^{\circ}C)$. It is concluded that we have to design the piezoelectric transformers so that its output impedance correspond to the load impeadance, including any stray capacitance.

  • 본 논문에서는 유한요소법과 등가회로법을 이용하여 윤곽 진동형 압전변압기의 특성을 해석하고 이를 통해 압전변압기의 매칭 임피던스와 기계 및 전기적 결합계수를 계산하였다. 실험적 결과를 통하여 수치해석의 타당성을 검증한 후, 진화 전략에 기초한 멀티 모드 함수의 최적 알고리즘을 이용하여 고효율 고전압 밀도 압전 변압기의 형상 최적화를 수행하였다. 최적화 과정에서의 계산 시간을 단축시키기 위하여 AWE(Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation)를 적용한 유한요소법을 사용하였다.

  • Piezoelectric torsional transducers have been fabricated to generate torsional waves in a rod. The principle of generating torsional wane is based on the use of the circumferential shear motion derived by axial voltage exerted on the piezoelectric disk poled in the circumferential direction. The natural frequency or the piezoelctric torsional dish has been reduced by fabricating Langevin-type torsional transducers. The natural frequecies of the fabricated transducers have been measured and have shown good agreement with the characteristics predicted by analysis.

  • We studied the characteristics of impedance and electromechanical coupling coefficient in ZnO and AIN thin films by using resonance frequency spectrum method. The response peak of impedance decreased with the decrease of thickness of piezoelectrics, the number of mode of response peak decreased with the decrease of substrate thickness. An error of Kt² estimated from input Kt² increased as the thickness of piezoelectrics decreased and the thickness of substrate increased. Also, the error was increased in case of a large acoustic impedance of substrate. It was found that the composite resonator operating in optimized condition could be designed through the resonance frequency spectrum analysis of composited resonator consisted of piezoelectric thin film and substrate.

Estimation of Characteristics Change on Transverse Mode PZT Vibrator Under Space Environment (우주환경하에서 횡진동 모드 PZT진동자의 특성변화 예측)

  • The temperature dependence of the characteristics in a PZT-5 piezoelectric ceramic vibrator with the transverse mode was investigated in the range of $-100^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$ using a thermal vacuum chamber to utilize the vibrator in aerospace industries. As the results, at room temperature, the resonant and anti-resonant frequencies had the minimum value, whereas, the dielectric constant increased linearly from about 2500 to 7500 in the given temperature range. The mechanical loss decreased linearly from 0.08 to 0.03. Through the regression analysis, the temperature dependence functions of the characteristics were derived to linear and square regression functions. Applying the functions, the input admittance characteristics of the piezoelectric vibrator were calculated, and the results showed good agreement with measured ones. It can be confirmed that this method is useful to estimate the characteristics change of the piezoelectric vibrator caused by the temperature change under the space environment.

Development of Piezoelectric Transformer Using The Single Crystal of LiTaO3 (LiTaO3 단결정을 사용한 압전변압기의 개발)

  • The single crystal of $LiTaO_3$ ($x-112^{\circ}$ y) has very stable thermal characteristics in a piezoelectric transformer. In this paper, a piezoelectric transformer made of the crystal is newly designed and its operating characteristics are analyzed. The length of the transformer is determined as twice as its width for Lame'-mode because the single crystal of $LiTaO_3$ has low electro-acoustic efficiency. The electric and vibrational characteristics of the transformer is simulated by the PSpice program, and its results are compared to experimental ones. As the results, the ratio of output voltage to input shows large than 10 at 290.83[kHz], which is the frequency coupled the 2nd harmonic for length and the fundamental for width of the Lame'-mode transformer.

  • In this paper, the resonant characteristics and modes of the film bulk acoustic wave resonator (FBAR) used in 1~2 GHz frequency region are analyzed by it's input impedance which was calculated by three dimensional finite element method formulated as eigenvalue problem using electro-mechanical wave equation and boundary condition. It was extracted that the resonant and the spurious characteristics considering the effects of electrode area and shape variation and unsymmetry of upper and lower electrode. Those effects couldn't be analyzed by on dimensional analysis, e.g. Mason equivalent model. The simulation result was confirmed by comparing with the simulation data from Mason model analysis and the measured data of the ZnO FBAR fabricated using micro-machining technique. Also, through the simulation of the area variations of FBAR, it was obtained that the optimum ratio of length and thickness is 20:1 and the minimum ratio is 5:1 to operate thickness vibration mode.

  • 강유전성 세라믹스 재료로써는 PZT계열의 세라믹재료가 널리 쓰이고 있다. 이는 우수한 유전 및 압전특성을 가지고 있으나, PbO을 다량 함유하고 있어 $1000^{\circ}C$이상에서 PbO가 급격하게 휘발되는 성질에 따라서 조성의 변동이 생겨 재현성이 어려우며 이를 방지하기 위하여 과잉 PbO를 첨가시키기 때문에 PbO휘발로 인한 강한 독성이 인체에 유해하다. 최근에는 Pb의 환경문제가 대두됨에 따라 이를 대체할 다른 물질의 개발이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 대표적인 비납계 강유전 세라믹스인 $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$ ($d_{33}$ = 120 pC/N, Kp = 39%, Qm = 210, 이하 NKN라 표기) 조성은 $KNbO_3,\;NaNbO_3$ 상태도에 따라 순수한 NKN 세라믹스는 $1140^{\circ}C$에서 안정상을 가지나, 높은 온도로 인하여$Na_2O$$K_2O$가 쉽게 휘발됨에 따라 화학량 비의 변화가 생겨 이차 상을 형성하기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 $LiNbO_3$의 새로운 고용체를 추가시켜 기본 NKN조성에 압전성 및 고온에서의 상안정성을 향상시키고자 하였다. 최적 조성을 설계하기 위하여 (1-x)$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-xLiNbO_3$, x=(0,0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08)의 범위에서 조성을 변화시키면서 실험하였다. 시편 제작은 일반적인 세라믹스 소결 공정을 적용하였는데, $850^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 하소 후 $1080^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결하였다. 하소 및 소결 후에는 XRD분석을 통해 perovskite구조를 확인하였고, 미세구조 확인을 위해 주사전자현미경 (SEM)으로 관찰하였다. 압전특성을 평가하기 위해 압전 $d_{33}$-meter를 사용하였으며, impedance analyzer (HP 4194A)를 이용하여 전기적 특성을 측정하였다.
