An experimental study on the flow characteristics of a 2-D supersonic turbine with pressure ratio (압력비에 따른 2차원 초음속 터빈의 유동특성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this paper, a small supersonic wind tunnel is designed and built to study the flow characteristics of a supersonic impulse turbine. The flow is visualized by means of a single pass Schlieren system. The supersonic cascade with 2-dimensional supersonic nozzle was tested over a wide range of pressure ratio. Highly complicated flow patterns including shocks, nozzle-cascade interaction and shock boundary layer interactions are observed.

Supersonic Mach Disk Characteristics in a Plasma Wind Tunnel (플라즈마 풍동의 초음속 마하 디스크 특성)

  • A primary investigation on the underexpanded flow generated in a 0.4 MW class high enthalpy supersonic arc-heated plasma wind tunnel is conducted experimentally. The diameter and the position of the Mach disk from the nozzle exit is measured for overall pressure ratios ranging from 200 to 30. The empirical correlations for Mach disk diameter and position are determined which show very good agreement with experimental results.

  • Pressure Sensitive Paint(PSP) means a reacting paint in pressure. PSP can measure continuous pressure field by analyzing the oxygen quantity using optical method. The surface pressure of down stream after the sonic jet that injected transversely into the supersonic freestream was measured by PSP technique. Moreover the effect of various rectangular shaped cavities in front of the jet was measured by PSP technique. A comparison of the PSP results with conventional pressure tap and CFD indicates good agreement. Until now, the results of numerical analysis were compared with the discrete points such as the results of pressure tap. In this study, the whole region pressure was measured using PSP technique and its results were similar to CFD. Therefore, the flow phenonenon of cavity downstream was clearly grasped.

플라즈마를 이용한 GaAs 반응성 이온 식각

  • 이 논문은 반응성 $BCl_3$ 플라즈마로 GaAs의 건식 식각을 진행한 후 그 결과에 대하여 연구 분석 한 것이다. 이 때 사용한 식각 공정 변수는 $BCl_3$ 플라즈마에서의 가스유량, 공정 압력과 RIE 척 파워의 변화이다. 먼저 공정 압력을 75 mTorr 고정시킨 후 $BCl_3$ 유량을 변화 (2.5~10 sccm)해서 실험하였다. 또한 BCl3의 유량을 5 sccm으로 고정시킨 후 공정압력을 변화(47~180 mTorr)해서 식각 실험을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 47 mTorr와 100 mTorr 의 각각의 공정압력에서 RF 척 파워를 변화시켜 (50~200 W) 실험하였다. GaAs 플라즈마 식각이 끝난 후 표면단차 측정기 (Surface profiler)를 사용하여 표면의 단차와 거칠기를 분석하였다. 그 후 그 결과를 이용하여 식각율 (Etch rate), 식각 표면 거칠기 (RMS roughness), 식각 선택비 (Selectivity) 등의 식각 특성평가를 하였다. 또한 식각 공정 중에 샘플 척에 발생하는 자기 바이어스와 $BCl_3$ 플라즈마 가스를 광학 발광 분석기 (Optical Emission Spectroscopy)를 이용하여 플라즈마의 상태를 실시간으로 분석하였다. 이 실험 결과에 따르면 공정 압력의 증가는 샘플 척의 자기 바이어스의 값을 감소시켰다. $BCl_3$ 압력 변화에 의한 GaAs의 식각 결과를 정리하면 5 sccm의 $BCl_3$ 가스유량과 RF 척 파워를 100 W로 고정시켰을 때 식각율은 47 mTorr에서 가장 높았으며, 그 값은 $0.42{\mu}m/min$ 이었다. GaAs의 식각 속도는 공정압력이 증가할수록 감소하였으며 180 mTorr에서는 식각율이 $0.03{\mu}m/min$로 거의 식각되지 않았다. 또한 공정압력을 75 mTorr, RF 척 파워를 100 W로 고정시키고, $BCl_3$ 가스유량을 2.5 sccm에서 10 sccm까지 변화시켰을 때, 10 sccm 의 $BCl_3$ 가스유량에서 가장 높은 식각율인 $0.87{\mu}m/min$이 측정되었다. 압력에 따른 GaAs의 식각 후 표면 거칠기는 최대 2 nm 정도로 비교적 매끈하였으며, 거의 식각되지 않은 180mTorr의 조건에서는 약 1 nm로 낮아졌다. 본 실험 조건에서 GaAs의 감광제에 대한 식각 선택비는 최대 약 3:1 이내였다.

Controlling Factors of Open-Loop Combustion Response to Acoustic Pressures in Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine (강한 압력파동에 구속된 액체 추진제 연소응답의 지배인자)

  • This paper targets to define controlling factors of pressure-coupled combustion response and estimate their effects on droplet evaporation process. Dynamic characteristics of hydrocarbon propellant vaporization perturbed by acoustic pressure are numerically simulated and analyzed. 1-D droplet model including phase equilibrium between two phases is applied and acoustic wave is expressed by harmonic function. Effects of various design factors and acoustic pressure on combustion response are investigated with parametric studies. Results show that driving frequency of acoustic perturbation and ambient pressure have important roles in determining magnitude and phase of combustion response. On the other hand, other parameters such as gas temperature, initial droplet size and temperature, and amplitude of acoustic wave cause only minor changes to magnitude of combustion response. Resultant changes in phase of heat of vaporization and thermal wave in droplet highly influence magnitude and phase of combustion response.

  • Composite materials have been widely applied for fabricating pressure vessels used for storing gaseous and liquid fuel because of their high specific stiffness and specific strength. Accordingly, the accurate measurement of their mechanical property, particularly the burst pressure or fracture strain, is essential prior to the commercial release. However, verification of the safety of composite pressure vessels using conventional test methods poses some limitations because it may lead to the deformation of the load transferring media or provoke an additional energy loss that cannot be ignored. Therefore, in this study, the segment-type ring burst test device was designed considering the theoretical load transferring ratio and applicable displacement of the vertical column. Moreover, to verifying the uniform distribution of pressure of the segment type ring burst test device, the hoop stress and strain distribution of ring specimens were compared with that of the hydraulic pressure test method via FEM. To conduct a simulation of the fracture behavior of the composite pressure vessel, a Hashin failure criterion was applied to the ring specimen. Furthermore, the fracture strain was also measured from the experiment and compared with that of the result from the FEM.

  • 국내 K-그룹 연구소에서 제조한 폴리설폰 중공사막의 산소/질소 혼합물에 대한 압력, stage , cut , 공급기체 혼합물의 조성에 따른 분리성능을 조사하였다. 본 실험의 압력범위와 온도 3$0^{\circ}C$에서의 이상분리인자 (O2/N2)는 5.7이었으며, 유입기체 혼합물의 21mole % 산소농도가 약 50 mole%로 농축되었다. 저압측과 고압측의 압력비는 산소농축에 미치는 영향이 적었으며 이상분리인자의 영향은 매우 컸다. 그러나, 이상분리인자가 증가함에 따라 이상분리인자의 영향은 둔화되었다. 따라서, 이상분리인자가 큰 신소재 개발과 더불어 공정변수의 최적화가 필요하다. 수학적 모델링에 의한 예측치와 실험치가 잘 맞았다.

  • Pintle technology, which is one of the thrust control method for solid rocket motor, can control the thrust by the control of nozzle throat area through the pintle moving. For studying the unsteady flow characteristics of pintle nozzle by needle type pintle moving, cold flow test and numerical analysis were performed. The pressure distribution on the pintle tip was varied for pintle moving and stopping and thrust was varied by this effects.

  • 지하 LPG 저장기지의 수벽시설이 저장공동 주변 암반에 미치는 영향을 진단하기 위해서 수벽시설의 주입압력을 강하시키면서 간극수압계와 관측공에서의 지하수두 변화를 모니터링하였다. 수벽시설의 관측지점에 대한 효율성은 수치해석으로부터 수벽시설과 관측지점간 매질의 확산능을 구함으로써 분석하였다. 확산능 산출결과를 검증하기 위해서 수벽시설의 압력강하에 따른 관측지점에서의 수두강하비와 수두강하율을 구하여 확산능 결과와 비교하였다. 비교결과, 확산능은 수두강하비, 수두강하율과 일관된 변화를 보여주었으며 확산능의 값이 클수록 수벽공의 압력변화에 따른 관측지점에서의 반응성이 양호함을 나타내었다

  • Performance test of the 75ton class turbopump turbine was performed. Using the measured turbine power characteristics in the wide-range operational conditions, variations of nozzle velocity ratio, total pressure loss, and relative flow angle to the pressure ratios and rotational speeds are quantified. Efficiency and nozzle exit pressure behavior was also investigated and compared with 30ton turbopump turbine data. A rotor blade was redesigned based on the test results and CFD analysis.
