Quality improvement of high temperature-heated shrimp via pretreatment (전처리 방법에 따른 고온 가열 새우의 품질 향상)

  • In order to prevent the blackening and texture softening of heated shrimp, the pH was adjusted by soaking shrimps in acidic and alkali solutions, and their qualities were evaluated. The lightness of shrimps pretreated with 0.2% (w/w) citric acid and 0.05% (w/w) ascorbic acid solution increased by 20% compared to that of the control. The strength of mechanical hardness of shrimps soaked in acetic acid and phosphate solution (pH 6.0) was significantly higher ($1209g_f$) compared to that of untreated shrimp ($801g_f$; p<0.05), and the overall preference of texture was 0.4 points higher than that of the control in the descriptive sensory evaluation (p<0.05). In contrast, soaking in solution of pH 8 exhibited a weak texture hardening effect ($855g_f$). Additionally, the hardness of the heated shrimp after soaking at an adjusted pH of 4.0 increased to $4046g_f$, but the yield based on weight decreased to 38% compared to that of untreated shrimp (70%; p<0.05).

  • 3종 복합소재인 양모와 나일론, 레이온의 염색공정은 먼저 알칼리 욕에서 반응성염료로 레이온을 염색한 후, 산성욕에서 산성염료로 양모와 나일론을 염색하는 것이 일반적이다. 그런데 양모, 나일론, 레이온은 알칼리에 민감하므로 면 염색 시 적용되는 강알칼리인 수산화나트륨을 사용하면 섬유의 취화로 인하여 강도와 촉감저하 등의 문제가 발생하게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 알칼리 중 탄산나트륨과 중탄산나트륨을 사용하여 염료를 투입하지 않고 염색공정을 거친 후 백도와 인장강도를 측정하여 황변 및 강도 변화 여부를 알아보았다. 레이온 70%, 양모 19%, 나일론 11%의 혼용율을 가지는 전처리 된 편물(130$g/m^2$, 32 inch, 18 gauge)에 탄산나트륨(시약 1급) 20g/l과 중탄산나트륨(시약 1급) 20g/l 각각을 투입하고 반응성염색공정($60^{\circ}C$, 60 min)으로 처리한 경우와 반응성 염색 후 산성염색공정($98^{\circ}C$, 60 min)으로 처리한 경우로 나누어 측색을 통해 백도와 L, a, b값을 측정하고 KS K 0521에 따라 인장강도 시험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 탄산나트륨 투입시 백도 값이 중탄산나트륨에 비해 10% 정도 낮아지고 L, a, b값도 상대적으로 yellow 방향으로 이동해 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 황변이 일어남을 의미하며 육안으로 확인하였다. 또한 인장강도 측정결과를 통해 소다회 처리 시 중조에 비해 30% 정도의 강도 저하가 일어남을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 반응성염색 후 산성염색을 거치게 되면 황변과 강도 저하 현상이 회복되는 경향을 나타내었다. 즉, 천연/나일론 편물을 반응성염색 시 알칼리로 탄산나트륨을 사용하면 염색공정 상에서 중탄산나트륨에 비해 황변이 일어나 염료 고유의 색상 발현에 영향을 줄 수 있고 강도 또한 30% 정도 저하되지만, 후에 산성염색 공정을 거치면 산 조건과 욕중 효과를 통해 일부 개선됨을 확인하였다. 이와 별도로 이번에는 시판되는 반응성염료 5종과 산성염료 3종을 조합하여 탄산나트륨과 중탄산나트륨 투입에 따른 염색실험을 실시하고 측색(DataColor SF600 광원D65, Strength)을 통해 염착량을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 중탄산나트륨으로 염색하면 탄산나트륨에 비해 모두 염착량이 저하되었으며, 염료의 구조적 차이와 컬러별로도 그 차이는 다양하였다. 그 중 저온에너지형 반응성염료는 탄산나트륨 투입에 비해 47~60% 정도로 가장 양호하였으며, 일부 반응성염료는 20%까지 떨어지는 값을 나타내었다. 이것은 탄산나트륨보다 중탄산나트륨의 알칼리 정도가 낮으므로 반응성염료의 염착이 적은 것으로 생각되며, 저에너지형 반응성염료의 경우에는 낮은 온도나 알칼리 조건에서도 상대적으로 높은 고착률을 나타내므로 적절한 반응성염료의 선택을 통해 그 차이를 극복할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 이상의 결과를 통해 탄산나트륨과 중탄산트륨의 알칼리 정도가 강도와 염착량에 미치는 영향의 차이를 고려하여 최적의 현장 처방을 선정해야 함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 효소는 주로 면직물의 전처리 및 염색가공에 사용되고 있는데, 공업적으로 적용되고 있는 예로는 아밀라제에 의한 호발, 셀룰라제에 의한 감량 및 유연가공을 들 수 있고, 최근 미국과 일본을 중심으로 연구되고 있는 펙티나제에 의한 정련은 공업화 가능성이 매우 높은 것으로 보고되고 있으며, 글루코스 옥시다제에 의한 표백은 아직연구 초기 단계에 있다. 효소정련이란 기존의 수산화나트륨 대신에 효소를 사용하여 행하는 정련을 말하며, 장점으로는 50-6$0^{\circ}C$ 정도의 온도에서 행하기 때문에 기존 정련법과 비교시 에너지와 용수를 절약할 수 있는 것, 폐수 중에 방출되는 오염물질의 양을 현격하게 줄일수 있을 것, 우수한 생분해성으로 인한 수질오염을 감소시킬 수 있을 것, 부드럽고 스무스하여 자연스런 태를 부여하는 것 및 재현성이 높은 것 등이다. Impact of Alkali Pretreatment to Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Cork Oak (Quercus Variabilis) (알칼리 전처리가 굴참나무의 효소 당화에 미치는 영향)

  • Dissolving part of xylan and lignin in lignocellulosic biomass by base can be used as pretreatment technique. Cork oak was pretreated with sodium hydroxide solution and the pretreatment effects were evaluated with two critical factors - NaOH concentration and pretreatment temperature. Some of xylan and lignin were removed by base pretreatment. At $90^{\circ}C$ and 13% NaOH pretreatment, 22.0% of lignin and 78.8% of xylan removed by base treatment. Enzymatic hydrolysis of cork oak which was pretreated at higher temperature or concentration was further improved. After pretreatment of cork oak with 13% NaOH at $90^{\circ}C$, the conversion rate of cellulose to fermentable sugars were reached up to 91.3%. At ethanol fermentation with enzymatic hydrolysate from different pretreatment conditions, all enzymatic saccharification liquids were well fermented by Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Partial Nitritation in an SBR Reactor by Alkalinity Control (알칼리도 제어에 의한 SBR 반응조에서의 부분아질산화)

  • In this study, major parameter of partial nitritation was investigated for the stable operation. In order to establish partial nitritation system, prevailing parameters such as temperature, BA (bicarbonate alkalinity) and pH were evaluated. As a result, it is inferred that appropriate bicarbonate alkalinity ratio (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) drives stable 50% partial nitritation at $32^{\circ}C$ and ambient temperature, respectively. Alkalinity ratio was proposed as new strategy for 50% partial nitritation without pH control in both temperature regimes. Because of the results, it was added amound of BA required only for 50% nitritation to inhibit nitratation. The effluent $NO_2{^-}-N/NH_4{^+}-N$ ratio reached almost 100% when initial bicarbonate alkalinity ratios (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) were 6.8 (R1) and 6.7 (R2), respectively. Polymerase chain reaction and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) results demonstrated that AOB was the dominant nitrifying bacteria and NOB was negligible after adopting process control.

  • 바이오매스 가스화 프로세스 개발에 있어서 가장 기본적인 해결과제는 고발열량의 합성가스 제조, 냉가스 효율의 향상, 타르 발생량 저감 및 제거이다. 가스화 효율 향상에 대한 연구는 국내외 적으로 많이 이루어지고 있으나, 타르 발생량 저감에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 있지 않다. 타르는 분자량이 큰 방향적 탄화수소로 응축되면 점성이 높아 배관폐쇄, 정제설비의 압력손실 증가로 인해 운전정지 및 가스화율 저하의 원인이 된다. 가스화로에서 타르 발생량을 저감시키는 방법 중에는 Ni계 촉매를 이용하는 방법이 있으나, 카본 누적에 의한 활성저하, 알칼리금속에 의한 응집 등의 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 한편 철산화물은 합성가스 중의 C2-C3계의 타르를 분해하는데 효과가 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 적벽돌, 염색슬러지 회재 등에는 철산화물이 다량 함유되어 있는 것에 착안하여 폐기물중의 폐금속을 이용한 바이오매스 가스화에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 점토광물계 폐기물인 적벽돌 파쇄물($SiO_2$ 67.2%, $Al_2O_3$ 19.7%, $Fe_2O_3$ 8.7%, $K_2O$ 2.0%, $TiO_2$ 1.2%, MgO 0.7%)을 전처리 한 후 유동매체로하여 우드펠렛을 가스화한 결과, 가스 생성량이 증가하고, 타르 및 탄화수소류가 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 타르는 후단의 타르 트랩에서 타르가 거의 검출이 되지 않았다. 전처리를 하지 않은 적벽돌 파쇄물은 반응시간이 경과한 후에 가스화율이 증가함에 따라 철화합이 가스화로내에서 환원되어 타르를 분해하는데에는 어느 정도의 반응시간이 필요한 것을 확인하였다.

  • To connect the driver IC and Al coated glass, a method has been developed to plate electrolessly Ni on Al/PR system. It Is necessary to pretreat Al to remove oxide film before plating. In order to find pretreatment process which does not damage photoresist or glass, alkaline and fluoride zincate process have been investigated. Because photoresist and aluminum thin film can easily dissolve in alkaline solution, it is considered that the fluoride zincate process was a suitable one. After immersion in the zincate solution containing 1.5 g/$\ell$ ammonium bifluoride and 100 g/$\ell$ zinc sulfate, electroless nickel plating could be performed. The additive in the zincate solution and thiourea in the plating solution increased smoothness of the plated surface. Acld dip could improve the uniformit of the surface.

Organic Matter Degradation and Nitrification Characteristics in Aerobic Digestion of Sewage Sludge (슬러지 호기성 소화공정에서의 유기물 분해 및 질산화 특성)

  • Continuous operation of aerobic sludge digestion reactor was attempted for 279 days. Anaerobic digester sludge, the target material of the experiment, was pretreated by sodium hydroxide at $40^{\circ}C$ for 120 minutes, and the pretreated sludge was fed to 5 L CSTR (continuous stirred tank reactor). Reactor performance was affected by properties of input sludge and HRT (hydraulic retention time). 6 days of HRT showed best and stable performance, and under this condition, removal rates of $NH_3$-N, SCOD, TKN, TCOD, SS, and VSS were 97.4%, 81.7%, 68.7%, 61.4%, 50.6%, and 47.0%, respectively. 73.9% of SS in anaerobic digester sludge was reduced by pretreatment and aerobic digestion. Effluent sludge had low soluble COD of 350 mg/L. This implied the sludge was stabilized and suitable for use as liquid fertilizer. Nitrification took place when HRT was higher than 4 days. $NO_3$-N concentration was as high as 658 mg/L while $NH_3$-N was as low as 20 mg/L.

Optimum Chemical Cleaning Conditions for Ceramic Microfiltration Membrane Process (세라믹 정밀여과막 공정을 위한 최적 약품세척 방안)

  • This study was carried out to find the optimum chemical cleaning (CIP) conditions for ceramic microfiltration membrane process of Y drinking water treatment plant. B train consists of coagulation as pretreatment process with membrane was chemically cleaned 9 times more than that of A train with ozonation and coagulation. The frequent CIP of B train was due to improper CIP method suggested by membrane manufacture as well as different membrane fouling between A and B train resulting from the different pretreatment processes. That is, recovery rate of CIP was overestimated because the rate was calculated based on normalized trans membrane pressure (TMP) rather than normalized permeability. And also, iron oxide fouling was ineffectively removed by citric acid. By using a mixture of 1% citric acid and 0.1 N sulfuric acid as reagent for acid CIP step, the recovery rate of CIP was the highest while CIP efficiency by 0.1 N sulfuric acid was the lowest. When sulfuric acid concentration increased from 0.1 N to 0.3 N in mixture, total recovery rate of CIP was not increased due to the decreased CIP efficiency in alkali CIP step by 0.3% NaOCl although its rate in acid CIP step was increased. It was proved through the experiment result of CIP sequence changes that an acid followed by alkali CIP was more effective than that of the reverse method.

Study on the Pretreatment of Rice Hull to Enhance Enzymatic Saccharification Efficiency (효소 당화효율 증진을 위한 왕겨의 전처리 방법 연구)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the efficient pretreatment method for bioethanol production from rice hull. Ammonia and sodium hydroxide as an alkaline solution and dilute sulfuric acid as an acidic solution were used in a batch reactor under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. The highest enzymatic saccharification efficiency of 82.8% and ash removal rate of 94.7% were obtained in the dilute sulfuric acid treated sample after the sodium hydroxide solution treatment. The enzymatic saccharification efficiencies and ash removals of pretreated rice hull samples have very similar variation tendency. This means that the maximum obstructive factor for the enzymatic saccharification of rice hull is the ash (silicate) content in biomass. The findings suggest that the combined sodium hydroxide-dilute sulfuric acid treatment system under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions is a promising pretreatment method to enhance the enzymatic saccharification of the silica-rich biomass.
