Numerical Analysis of MDF for Aluminum Plate Cutting (MDF를 이용한 알루미늄 평판 절개 해석)

  • In this paper, the possibility of using an MDF (Mild-detonating Fuse) as a linear separation device is studied. An MDF is a small diameter metal (lead) tube filled with explosives (RDX). Aluminum plate cutting experiments are carried out with different values of target plate thickness and explosives per unit length. Based on the experimental results, a numerical analysis method including the failure criteria is established. The mechanism and characteristics of using MDFs for aluminum plate cutting are identified; the possibility of using the current system as a linear separation device is verified. By utilizing a developed numerical method, the separation reliability for diverse structures and MDFs can be predicted in advance and the number of experiments required for development can be minimized.

모듈화된 신형저가 고효율 평판형 태양열 집열기 개발

  • 알루미늄 재질의 찬넬을 흡열판으로 이용하는 평판형 태양열 집열기를 개발하였다. 이러한 흡열판은 찬넬 내부 전체로 전열매체가 흐르기 때문에 집열기의 열적성능을 향상시킬 것으로 예상되며, 모듈화되어 있어 제작 및 설치가 기존 흡열판보다 용이하다는 장점이 있다. 제작된 찬넬형 평판형 태양열 집열기에 대한 집열효율 시험을 수차례 수행하면서 성능을 개선시키고 있으며, 그 결과 기존 상용화된 집열기 수준의 우수한 열적성능을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 알루미늄 재질 흡열판 외에 플라스틱 재질의 찬넬형 흡열판도 적용하였으며, 기타 실용화 및 성능 향상에 필요한 요소들에 대해 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 4변이 고정된 정사각형 알루미늄 평판의 진동 진폭을 측정하기 위하여, 기존의 위상 이동 ESP떼 스트로보스코프식 조사를 적용한 스트로보스코픽 ESPI 기법을 이용하였다. 일반적으로 시간평균 ESPI를 이용하면 진동하고 있는 대상체의 정성적인 진동 패턴을 측정할 수 있다. 그러나 시간평균 ESPI로는 진동하고 있는 대상체의 두께방향으로의 진폭량을 측정하기는 어렵다. 또한 일반적인 위상이동법을 적용시킬 경우, 대상체가 진동을 하게 됨으로써 정확한 진동 진폭을 측정하기 어렵다.(중략)

  • Among the factors that threaten spacecraft, Micrometeoroid and Orbital Space Debris(MMOD) cause damage to spacecraft and impact velocity is about 8~70km/s. Nowadays, various Whipple Shield are studied and applied to protect spacecraft. As the materials used to Shielding System, aluminum is usually used but composite is also used increasingly. So this study compared characteristics of hypervelocity impact of Aluminum and composites through finite element analysis. The Projectile was a spherical shape using Aluminum 2017-T4, and aluminum plate was using Aluminum 6061-T6, CFRP plate was using T300/5208. Initial impact velocity of projectile was 1km/s. As a result, kinematic energy of projectile decreased to about 64J and about 63J for aluminum plate and CFRP plate, respectively after impact. Although both results is almost same about the absorption of impact energy, you can think the CFRP has good ballistic characteristic, because CFRP is lighter about 1.7 times compared with density of aluminum.

  • An experimental study of jet impingement on aluminum foam mounted on the surface with constant heat flux is conducted with the presentation of the heat transfer rate measured when jet impinges normally to a flat plate. Effects of pore density, foam thickness and Reynolds number on the heat transfer are analyzed. Experimental results show that the significant enhancement in Nu is obtained when the aluminum foam is mounted on the heated plate and that the increase in the heat transfer due to the porous material insertion is dominated by both the increase in the heat transfer area and the decrease in the momentum flux resulted from the pressure drop.

  • 보강평판은 평판에 각종 보강재를 용접등의 방법에 의해서 종방향, 횡방향, 경사 또는 임의의 방향으로 부착시켜 굽힘 및 비틀림 강성을 향상시킨 구조요소이다. 이러한 구조요소는 구조적 필요성이나 경량화 설계에 따라 선박의 deck, 철도 차량, 항공기 및 자동차 등의 각종 구조물에서 부하능력 및 경제성을 증대시키기 위하여 널리 사용되고 있고, 또한 자동차용 오일팬, 가전기기의 케이싱과 모터의 케이싱등에도 사용되고 있다. 최근 현장에서는 이러한 구조물의 진동 감소 및 방진 문제가 큰 관심사가 되고 있다. 본 논문은 정사각형 알루미늄 평판에 +자 형태의 Box Beam 보강재를 편면 보강하고 4변 자유단의 경계 조건을 설정하였다. 보강재는 유한요소 정식화 과정을 통하여 평판 요소에 등가시키고, 2차원의 평판 구조로 보강 평판을 모델링하고 구조해석 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 해석하였다. 실험은 Impact Test에 의해서 주파수 응답 함수(FRF)를 각 시편에 대해서 구하고 이를 해석의 고유진동수와 비교하였다. 그리고 보강재가 임의의 각도로 평판에 부착되었을 때 고유진동수의 변화와 진동 모드(mode shape)를 분석하였다.

  • Edge notched A16061-T6 aluminum was repaired with a GFRP composite patch as a function of the number of stacking, Damage progress of specimen for tension load has been monitored by acoustic emission(AE), AE energy rate, hit rate, amplitude, waveform and 1st peak frequency distribution were analyzed. Fracture processes were classified into Al cracking, Fiber breakage, Resin cracking and Delamination. Displacement of a specimen can be divided into Region I, II and ill according to acoustic emission characteristics. Region II where the patch itself was actually fractured was focused on to clarify the AE characteristics difference for the number of stacking.

Experimental Testing of Curved Aluminum Honeycomb/CFRP Sandwich Panels (곡면형상의 알루미늄 하니콤/CFRP 샌드위치 패널에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents the fabrication and 3-point flexion testing of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite face/aluminum honeycomb core sandwich panels. Specimen sandwich panels were fabricated with three honeycomb types (3.18 mm, 4.76 mm, and 6.35 mm cell size) and three panel radii (flat, r = 1.6 m, r = 1.3 m). The curved sandwiches were fabricated normally with the core in the W-direction. The tensile mechanical properties of the CFRP $2{\times}2$ twill fabric face laminate were evaluated (modulus, strength, Poisson's ratio). The measured values are comparable to other CFRP fabric laminates. The flat sandwich 3-point flexion test core shear strength results were 11-30% lower than the manufacturer published data; the test set-up used may be the cause. With a limited sample size, the 1.3 meter panel curvature appeared to cause a 0.8-3.8% reduction in ultimate core shear strength compared to a flat panel.

A Study on Flow Induced Vibration of Cantilever Plate with Angle of Attack (받음각을 갖는 평판보의 유동 여기진동에 관한 연구)

  • Experimental studies are conducted to investigate the Flow-Induced Vibration mechanism for cantilever plate model with the angle of attack (.alpha.=10.deg., 20.deg., 30.deg.). Research is divided into two parts. First, the flow fields around two dimensional flat plate model are investigated using LDV system. Second, the vortex shedding frequency and response spectra of cantilever plate are obtained experimentally using gap sensor and hot wire anemometer. Finite element method program was used in order to predict the flow field and pressure field around thin flat plate. And some predicted results were compared with the experimental data. The aspect ration of test model is d/t=25 (d; width, t; thickness). From the measurement of the flow field it was found that in the case of small inclined (.alpha.=10.deg., 20.deg.) relatively, the separated boundary layer at sharp leading edge developed smoothly downstream. With increasing the angle of attack of the plate, stagnation region was appeared on the back side of the plate and separated boundary layer was extended downstream. These trends are a good agreement with the computational results. It was found by analysis of response spectra of cantilever plate that the influences of vortex shedding frequency were important at the large of attack (.alpha.=30.deg.), and two peak values appear in entire test model at 24Hz, 150Hz.

  • Because the structural elements used in the automobile, astronautic and ship industries are put in dynamic loading environments, much interest is given to the damping of the structural elements, as well as high flexural rigidity and strength per density. Therefore, in this study, the structural damping value of the aluminum honeycomb sandwich plate(AHCP) has been experimentally extracted, and directly applied to the finite element, for the dynamic analysis of the plate considering the structural damping. The analysis results of this theory was compared with the results of the actual modal analysis method. It was observable that the two analyses concurred, establishing the structural damping and analysis method of the AHSP.
