Finite Element Analysis on the Deformation Behavior Safety of a Gas Valve (가스밸브의 변형거동 안전성에 관한 유한요소해석)

  • This paper presents the FEM analysis results on the deformation behavior safety of automatic cut-off horizontal and conventional vertical gas valves. Based on the FEM analysis, the primary maximum deformation of $4.4{\mu}m$ was formed on the right end side of a valve body when the internal gas pressure was supplied on the screw port and gas discharge port of an automatic cut-off horizontal gas valve. And the secondary maximum deformation of $2.9{\mu}m$ was formed on the end side of safety valve port. This small deformation of an automatic cut-off horizontal gas valve is strongly related to the balanced design of a horizontal gas valve main body, which is composed of a screw part, gas outlet port, port for a stem and spindle shaft assembly, and safety valve port. But, the primary maximum deformation of 0.076mm was formed on the upper part of a conventional automatic cut-off vertical gas valve when the internal gas pressure was supplied on the screw port and gas discharge port. And the secondary maximum deformation of 0.055mm was formed on the left end side of a gas outlet port. This may effect on the sealing clearance of o-ring that is inserted on the groove of an automatic cut-off unit. Thus, this paper recommends an automatic cut-off horizontal gas valve compared with that of a conventional gas valve for a gas leakage free mechanism of a LPG cylinder valve.

  • Sensitivity on the reactor safety was evaluated for the safety margin and time delay applied to the opening pressure of liquid relief valve(LRV) of the primary heat transport system(PHTS) in the pressurized heavy water reactor(PHWR) type nuclear power plant. Since the LRV is the pressure boundary for the PHTS in the safety analysis, the operating of LRV has a significant effect on the safety analysis results. Therefore it is required during the regulatory review of Wolsong Unit 1 safety analysis to find the safety effect of the application of safety margin and time delay to the LRV opening pressure for the safety analysis of PHTS pressurizing events.

  • Vent-relief valve performed as a safety-valve combination for liquid propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle, which can vent the vaporized oxygen vapor during both filling cryogenic oxidizer into tank and flight. We have designed vent-relief model by using the AMESim code to predict dynamic characteristics and simulate pneumatic behavior of valve. To validate valve model we have compared by opening time in vent model, and opening/closing pressure by mathematical methods and improved the accuracy through numerical flow analysis by using FLUENT code. In this study, we had verified design parameters and analyzed operating performances. We can use these analysis results to precedent development study on propellant feeding system of Korea Space Launch Vehicle.

  • A relief valve is a mechanical element to keep safety by controlling high pressure. Usually, the high pressure is relieved by using the spring force and letting the fluid to flow from another way out of system. When its normal pressure is reached, the relief valve can return to initial state. The relief valve should be designed for smooth operation and should satisfy the structural safety requirement under operating condition. The commercial software ANSYS/WORKBENCH is utilized for flow and structural analysis. Very high pressure may cause structural problem due to severe stress. The study suggests the design satisfying the structural design requirement

안전감압계통의 열수력과도현상 평가

  • 가압기의 유체 조건이 증기에서 이상유체로 변화하는 완전급수상실사고 경우에 대한 안전감압계통의 가압기 노즐 및 밸브 전단에서의 유량, 밸브 후단에서의 압력 변화 등 RELAP5/MOD1과 RELAP5/MOD3로 계산된 열수력 조건이 유사한 추세를 나타내었다. 또한 RELAP5/MOD1-CALPLOTFIII와 RELAP5/MOD3-CALPLOTFIII 전산체제로 계산된 안전감압계통의 각 배관부위에서의 동하중도 유사한 추세를 나타내었다. 즉, RELAP5/MOD1-CALPLOTFIII와 RELAP5/MOD3-CALPLOTFIII 전산체제를 이용한 안전감압계통의 열수력 과도현상 해석 결과가 유사하여 RELAP5/MOD1 대신에 RELAP5/MOD3가 안전감압계통의 열수력 과도현상 분석에 대체사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 본 연구는 안전감압계통에 국한하여 수행되었으며, RELAP5/MOD1과 RELAP5/MOD3를 이용한 가압기안전밸브 방출배관에 대한 기존의 연구 결과에 의하면 RELAP5/MOD3가 만족스러운 곁과를 제공하지 못하는 바, 다른 계통에 RELAP5/MOD1 대신 RELAP5/MOD3를 대체적용하기 위해서는 개별적으로 각 계통에 대한 비교 평가가 선행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Development of Overflow Cutoff Valve for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders (액화석유가스 용기용 과류차단밸브의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This research is about overflow cutoff valve for liquefied petroleum gas cylinders. This valve was developed based on Bernoulli's equation and Newton's equation. The structure of overflow cutoff valve was made by insert module instead of the ordinary valve that is used at present. Recently, the increase in use of gas for fuel in houses has resulted to more frequent occurrences of gas related accidents. In Korea, the government has made a law for the obligatory use of the cutoff valves. This cutoff valve is not ya developed. This research focuses on the use of over flow cutoff valve for LPG cylinders. If this valve is adapted, many accidents can be prevented.

A Study on the Strength Safety of a Gas Valve (가스밸브의 강도안전성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the FEM analysis results on the strength safety of a gas valve for a LPG cylinder. Based on the FEM analysis, the maximum von Mises stress on the boundary zone between a safety valve and the upper area of the thread is 99.2 MPa for the supplied gas pressure of 3.5 MPa in which the gas valve is fully opened. The maximum von Mises stress of 99.2 MPa is considered as safety value, because that value is lower than the yield stress of a brass material. In this case, the maximum deformation at the upper right part of the pressure regulator is 0.002mm. The maximum deformation zone is not a meaning part of the sealing part such as an O-ring or a diaphragm of a gas valve and a pressure regulator. The proposed hybrid gas valve model in which is integrated with a conventional cut-off valve and a pressure regulator is recommended as a gas leakage free mechanism and minimized compact size for a LPG cylinder.

고리2호기 주급수차단밸브 구동용 질소 고압연동신호 제거

  • 고리 2호기 주급수 차단밸브의 경우 다른 호기와는 달리 구동용 질소압력 측정스위치에 의한 닫힘 연동신호가 설치되어 있다. 이러한 연동신호는 벨브 구동용 반구내 질소 압력 스위치 "고" 오동작에 의한 밸브차단 가능성이 있으며 이 경우 질소압력스위치가 저/고 경보창에 COMMON되어 있어 원인 규명에 어려움이 있다. 또한 질소압력 스위치 고장 및 질소가스 누설시 작업수행이 어렵고 위험이 따른다. 이러한 70년대 발전소 설계의 과잉설비를 제거하므로서 최적운전과 경제성 향상에 기여할 수 있으며 아울러 유지정비의 용이성과 밸브 불시닫힘을 미연에 예방할 수 있으리라 예상된다. 이와 관련하여 발전소 계통안전성, 기기안전성을 평가한 결과 기존의 안전해석결과가 유효하며 또한 FSAR 수정없이 이러한 설비변경이 가능하다는 결론에 도달하였다.결론에 도달하였다.
