Improvements of ENC display module on mobile devices (모바일 기기에서의 전자해도 표출을 위한 디스플레이 모듈의 개선)

  • In the maritime field, desktop-based ENC systems and services have been used for supporting the safe navigation of ship. However, with increasing level of needs for mobile device-based marine information service, ENC systems that provides basis for maritime service needs to be ported to mobile device. It is difficult to directly port desktop ENC system to the mobile devices, because the system operating environment and methods such as process management and memory management of the mobile devices are different from the desktop. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of the Android-based mobile devices. Based on this, during porting process of desktop-based ENC system to android system, we modified and improved the display module with the characteristics of Android-based mobile devices in mind.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is appearing by point technology by Ubiquitous environment of new paradigm and Logistics' application But, RFID chip of this is high price and short bandwidth, low power and interference etc. can become technological problem This is getting into obstacle in common use. Reader and tag, Embedded software etc.. that are accomplishing standardization are imported paying most expensive royalty. This paper deals with a RFID cognition system that use PDA under ubiquitous environment to apply to Logistics system A RFID cognition system processes input/output of fundamental information attaching a tag onto products. And a RFID cognition system supports quick, correct and sqfe synthetic Logistics managerial system through construction of database. This can minimize logistics costs and improve the quality of customer service. A RFID cognition system has advantage that can widen range of application to area that cognition system of existent fixing style can not do. Also, it can expect economical effect through inexpensive system construction.

  • Ship Standard Network was submitted as a common subject of e-navigation by 81th IMO MSC 2005. This agenda was given an official status with strategy planning of e-navigation for Ship Standard Network after approval of WG program of 81th MSC 2006. Nowadays approximately 400 heterogeneous navigation and communication equipments are working on ships at sea. Standardization of ship network is to support exchanging various data efficiently. Among them, 4S network is defined as a wireless communication network between ship to ship and ship to shore which provides unceasing communication channel ship to shore. It has been expected to trigger various services and applications based on 4S network. However, no technologies and products has been appeared at fields yet. but now there's not specific technologies and developing products. In this paper, We developed a 4S multiple media switching server and a ship-land information exchange system to overcome the heterogeneity and provide efficient communication environments.. The performance of the implemented system was verified by TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association) V&V(Verification and Validation).

A Study on the Information Management System Support for the Intelligent Autonomous Navigation Systems (지능형 자율운항시스템 지원을 위한 정보 관리 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • The rapid increase of the current marine accidents is mainly due to the human execution errors. In an effort to address this, various kinds of researches such as construction of the digital vessels and vessel information monitoring systems have been conducted. But for safe navigation of vessels, it lack on systems study which can efficiently store, utilize and manage the mass data accepted by the vessel. In this paper, we propose a VWS(Virtual World System) that is based on the architecture of intelligent systems RVC(Reactive Layer-Virtual World-Considerative Layer) model of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS is responsible to store all the necessary information for safe navigation of the vessel and the information services to the sub-system of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS uses topology database to express the specific problem area, and utilizes a scheduling to reflect the characteristics of the real-time processing environment. Also, Virtual World defines API for the system to reflect the characteristics of the distributed processing environment. As a case study, the VWS is applied to a intelligent ship autonomous navigation system, and simulation is done to prove the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • IMO and IALA have undertaken projects that GMDSS Modernization and E-navigation, which refer to "Future digital communications systems" for a more efficient transmission of voice and data communications in the VHF maritime mobile service. ITU has also resolved in WRC-07 Resolution 357 to study the use of spectrum-efficient technologies in order to provide for the operation of ship and port security and maritime safety systems. IALA and ITU WP5B have coordinated for the technical developments and the spectrum issues. Recommendation ITU-R M.1842-1 has approved by WP5B meeting. This revision provides a wideband data service both 50kHz and 100kHz in the VHF maritime mobile service. This paper has studied E-navigation, its needs for data exchange that includes explanations of the current methods for transmitting data by VHF that based in land mobile radio service. A further technologies trend is estimated for Recommendation ITU-R M.1842-1, that is based on the land mobile radio standards with some tailored to fit the needs of the maritime mobile service.
