Analysis of Radio Distortion in Navigational Aid using Drone (드론을 이용한 항행안전시설 전파왜곡 분석)

  • To overcome the limitation of ground inspection for Navigational Aid, Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) developed a drone system for Navigational Aid inspection. This drone system has the advantage that they can inspect the air radio signal at the perspective of user (aircraft). Since drones have more free flight paths and easier control of flight speeds compared to aircrafts, drones can check sections of suspected airborne radio wave distortions at desired paths and speeds. Recently, with the acceleration of the development around the airport, there is a concern about the deterioration of the quality of radio signal of Navigational Aid. In order to analyze radio distortion of Navigational Aid, a radio wave environmental survey was conducted using drones. When the signal received by each flight path of the drone was measured, the origin of the reflected wave was identified by analyzing the section in which the radio signal was distorted.

A Methodology for Driving Risk Evaluation Based on Driving Speed Choice (Focusing on Impacts of Providing In-vehicle Traffic Warning Information) (주행속도선택 기반 주행위험도 평가방법론 개발 (차내 교통안전정보 제공 효과 평가를 중심으로))

  • This paper presents a Driving Risk Model (DRM) based on driving speed choices using an Ordered Response Probit (ORP) model. The DRM is conceptualized based on the relation between speed deviation and the occurrence of crashes found by Solomon. The impacts of various driving risk factors are revealed by applying the DRM to evaluate the effectiveness of In-Vehicle Traffic Warning Information (IVTWI) in expressway driving. Regarding driving risk, the results show that: (1) the risk is lower among male drivers, those with more driving experience and those with less accident history, (2) the risk is higher when driving takes place on wet road surface, in the afternoon, and under conditions of low traffic volume, and (3) the risk is also higher on both downgraded and long curve sections. Additionally, the results provide evidence that provision of IVTWI can decrease the driving risk. The proposed DRM provides a solution for assessing the traffic safety impacts of countermeasures on roadways when there is a shortage of traffic accidents data.

  • The recent development of USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology has broadened its applications to many fields of industry. The USN technology enables the system to monitor and control the status of distributed sensor nodes based on the low-powered communications. Applying the USN in the train control domain, the operational efficiency can be enhanced, where the reliability and the safety of the system are the key challenges. This paper suggests the system design for evaluating and improving the reliability and safety of the gateway, which is a USN component that manages the radio network among the sensors and collects the information from them. For this purpose, the reliability and the level of safety integrity of a general gateway have been predicted quantitatively and the supplementary design has been proposed for the selected week points. The verification on the reliability and the safety of the improved gateway according to the related standards has been followed. With the results of the study, the applicability of USN gateway for train control systems has been reviewed.

OTP-Based Transaction Verification Protocol Using PUFs (PUF를 이용한 OTP 기반 거래 검증 프로토콜)

  • The One-Time Password(OTP) Generator is used as a multi-factor authentication method to ensure secure transaction during e-Financial transaction in the bank and securities company. The OTP based e-Financial Transaction Verification Protocol ensures secure e-financial transaction through confirming the user's identity using OTP authentication information and counters not only Man-in-the-Browser(MITB) attacks but also memory hacking attacks. However, it is possible to generate correct OTPs due to potential of stealing sensitive information of the OTP generator through intelligent phishing, pharming, social engineering attacks. Therefore, it needs another scheme to prevent from above threats, and this paper proposes advanced scheme using Physical Unclonable Functions(PUFs) to solve these problems. First, it is impossible to generate the same OTP values because of the hysically unclonable features of PUFs. In addition, it is impossible to clone OTP generator with hardware techniques. Consequently, the proposed protocol provides stronger and more robust authentication protocol than existing one by adding PUFs in the OTP generator.

열무 중 살충제의 잔류농약 분해 특성 연구

  • 열무의 안전한 생산을 위한 생산단계에서의 각 농약 잔류량 변화 추이와 최종 소비단계에서의 농산물 안전성 평가자료로 활용하기 위하여 실제 시험포장에 열무를 파종한 후 수확 10일 전에 4 종(diazinon, endosulfan, cypermethrin, cyhalothrin)의 살충제를 각 성분별로 안전사용 기준에 따라 기준량 및 배량의 처리구에 직접 살포하여 열무의 포장상태에서의 잔류량 감소(생물학적 반감기) 변화를 조사하였다. 각 농약별로 2 수준 농도의 표준물질을 첨가하여 실험한 결과 평균회수율은 diazinon 98.7∼99.9%, endosulfan 97.6∼98.5%, cypermethrin 98.3∼99.6%, cyhalothrin 98.4∼99.1%이였고, 검출한계는 diazinon 및 cypermethrin은 0.04 mg/kg, endosulfan은 0.012 mg/kg, cyhalothrin은 0.01 mg/kg 이었다. 약제 살포 후 분해속도가 빠른 성분은 diazinon > endosulfan > cypermethrin >cyhalothrin 순이었다. 작물체(열무)내에서 시간의 경과에 따른 잔류량의 변화를 1차 반응으로 표현하여 농약 4종의 살포농도별 생물학적 반감기를 산출한 결과, 기준량 살포의 경우 diazinon 0.9일, endosulfan 2.0일, cypermethrin 2.2일, cyhalothrin 2.5일 그리고 배량 살포의 경우에는 diazinon 1.1일, endosulfan 2.0일, cypermethrin 2.1일, cyhalothrin 2.2일로 나타났다. 안전한 농산물 생산을 위한 열무 중 약제 살포 후 수확일은 잔류허용기준(MRL)을 적용시킬 경우 기준량으로 볼 때 diazinon은 6일 후, endosulfan은 10일 후에 수확하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며 합성 피레스로이드계인 cypermethrin과 cyhalothrin은 농약살포 후 2 시간 후에 농약 잔류량이 잔류허용기준 미만으로 나타났다.

Safety Evaluation of a Shipping Capsule for Special Form Radioisotope (특수형 방사성 동위원소 운반캡슐의 안전성 평가)

  • All of sealing capsules to transport a special form radioactive material should be designed and fabricated in accordance with the design criteria prescribed in IAEA standards and domestic regulations. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the safety of a shipping capsule for $^{192}Ir$ special form radioisotope which produced in the HANARO. The safety tests were carried out for the impact, percussion, bending and heat test conditions. And leakage tests were carried out before and after the each test. Also, the safety analyses wert performed using computer codes in order to verify the test results. The capsule showed slight scratches and deformation, and maintained its structural and thermal integrities in all tests without any severe damage or melting. It also met the allowable limits of leakage rate after each test. Therefore, it has been verified that the capsule was designed and fabricated to meet all requirements for the special form.

  • In this research, the safety trends and technologies of HCNG, a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas, are analyzed. This is an attracting alternative fuels to meet the strengthened automotive exhaust gas emission standards. HCNG is very important opportunities and challenges in that it is available the existing CNG infrastructures, meets the strengthened emission standards, and the technical, social bridge of the coming era of hydrogen. It is essential for the commercialization of HCNG that hydrogen - compressed natural gas blended fuel for use in preparation of various safety considerations included accidents scenario, safety distance, hydrogen attack, ignition sources and fire detectors are examined. Risk assessments also are suggested as one of permission procedure for HCNG filling station.

  • As a result of investment in railway safety focusing on passenger safety, the train accident rate has been reduced by half domestically and we have reached a high level of safety compared to other countries and other transportation modes. However, accidents related to staff are still at a high ratio compared to other countries. There have been few studies on staff safety and no relevant systematic safety measures have been implemented. More than 90% of staff fatalities occurred from rolling stock in motion and electrification, which are representative railway accidents. In this study, causes of accidents, and current safety measures for staff are analyzed focusing on trains in motion. The results can be utilized for developing new safety measures.

A Correlation Model of Traffic Safety and Personality in Elderly and Non-Elderly People (고령자와 비고령자의 성격과 교통안전 연관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore a correlation model of traffic safety and personality in elderly and non-elderly people. The correlation model is constructed by a factor regression analysis with latent factors and items related to traffic safety consciousness. As a result, it is found that non-elderly people with positive, active, perfectionistic, and unforgiving personality are likely to speed, have a high chance to be involved in traffic accidents, and tend to give low scores to traffic conditions. However, elderly people who are highly educated are likely to give high scores to traffic conditions and do not speed. Instead, elderly people become more likely to be involved in traffic accidents when they are engaged in more social activities. The results could contribute to developing traffic safety education and policy that is better customized to the specific needs of different groups of road users.

Analysis of the Segmental Reinforced Retaining Wall Behavior by Field Monitoring (현장계측을 통한 블럭식 보강토 옹벽의 거동분석)

  • Geogrid reinforced soil structures with segmental block facing have been increased since 1990's, because of the convenience of installation and the flexible appearance. In this paper, the behavior of the segmental reinforced retaining wall was analysed with the results of field monitoring. The height and length of reinforced wall are 12m and 25m, respectively. The field measurement equipments are horizontal and vertical earth pressure cells, settlement plate, strain gauge, inclinometer, and displacement pin. Based on the field monitoring, the horizontal earth pressure was approximately 0.3times higher than that of the theoretical method and the maximum tensile strength of reinforcement was 26.2kN/m. The displacement of facing wall was 23mm at the point of 7.1m height of the wall and toward the wall facing. The results of the study indicate that the segmental reinforced retaining wall is in a stable condition because of good compaction & reinforcement effects, and long period of construction time. Finally, the computer program of SRWall is very useful tool to design the segmental reinforced retaining wall.
