Experimental study on the ground subsidence due to the excavation of a shallow tunnel (경사지반에서 얕은터널의 굴착에 따른 지표침하에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • The need of the underground space for the infrastructures in urban area is increasing, and especially the demand for shallow tunnels increased drastically. It is very important that the shallow tunnel in the urban area should fulfill not only its own safety conditions but also the safety condition for the adjacent structures and the surrounding sub-structure. Most of the studies on the behavior of shallow tunnels concentrated only on their behaviors due to the local deformation of the tunnel, such as tunnel crown or tunnel sidewall. However, few studies have been performed for the behavior of the shallow tunnel due to the deformation of the entire tunnel. Therefore, in this study the behavior of the surrounding ground and the stability caused by deformation of the whole tunnel were studied. For that purpose, model tests were performed for the various ground surface slopes and the cover depth of the tunnel. The model tunnel (width 300 mm, height 200 mm) could be simulationally deformed in the vertical and horizontal direction. The model ground was built by using carbon rods of three types (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm), in various surface slopes and cover depth of the tunnel. The subsidence of ground surface, the load on the tunnel crown and the sidewall, and the transferred load near tunnel were measured. As results, the ground surface subsided above the tunnel, and its amount decreased as the distance from the tunnel increased. The influence of a tunnel ceased in a certain distance from the tunnel. At the inclined ground surface, the wider subsidence has been occurred. The loads on the crown and the sidewall were clearly visible, but there was no effect of the surface slope at a certain depth. The load transfer on the adjacent ground was larger when the cover depth (on the horizontal surface) was lager. The higher the level (on the inclined surface), the wider and smaller it appeared. On the shallow tunnel under inclined surface, the transfer of the ambient load on the tunnel sidewall (low side) was clearly visible.

  • Purpose: The purpose is to conduct basic research to save energy and improve the safety of manufacturing plant infrastructure by comprehensively monitoring energy management, temperature, humidity, dust and gas, air quality, and machine operation status in small and medium-sized manufacturing plants. Method: To this end, energy-related data and environmental information were collected in real time through digital power meters and IoT sensors, and research was conducted to disseminate and respond to situations for energy saving through monitoring and analysis based on the collected information. Result: We presented an application plan that takes into account energy management, cost reduction, and safety improvement, which are key indicators of ESG management activities. Conclusion: This study utilized various sensor devices and related devices in a smart factory as a practical case study in a company. Based on the information collected through research, a basic system for energy saving and safety improvement was presented.

Evaluation of Navigational Safety Using the Integrated Seakeeping Performance Index under Loading Conditions of a Ship (선박의 적화 상태별 종합내항성능지표에 의한 항해 안전성 평가)

  • Generally, the navigational safety of a ship under various loading conditions is evaluated by a loading manual. However, the loading manual handles only statical factors such as weight and buoyancy of ship without including any wave conditions. Practically ship's safety is much concerned with the occurrences on the rough sea as propeller racing, rolling, deck wetness, vertical acceleration, lateral acceleration, slamming and so on. The purpose of this paper is to present a synthetic and practical evaluation method of navigational safety using the integrated seakeeping performance index(ISPI) under loading conditions of ship in seaways. The method is calculated by means of the ISPI by measuring only vertical acceleration. Judgement of dangerousness is carried out for four lading conditions : homogeneous full loaded, half loaded, heavy ballast loaded, and normal ballast loaded conditions. In developing the practical evaluation system of navigational safety, it is useful to solve the difficulties in measuring factors by sensors. And by applying the evaluation diagrames, navigators are able to avoid dangerousness by keeping away of the danger encountering angle of wave direction which the diagram shows.

안전 운항을 위한 선박 운동 모니터링 시스템 개발

  • 황천 운항 중인 선박은 파도에 의한 과도한 운동과 그로 인한 슬래밍, 프로펠러노출, 갑판침수와 같은 현상으로 구조, 화물, 인명에 위험을 초래할 수 있다. 이 때문에 황천 시 선박은 안전 운항을 위하여 속도와 코스를 신중히 결정할 필요가 있다. 선박 운동 모니터링 시스템은 해상환경이 선박에 미치는 다양한 위험 상황을 사전에 예측하고 피할 수 있도록 의사 결정을 지원하며, 현재 선박의 운동상태와 구조적 안정성을 지속적으로 모니터링 함으로써 선박, 선원, 화물의 안전을 지원할 수 있도록 개발되었다. 본 시스템은 주파수 영역에서 New strip 방법에 기초하여 운동 응답과 수직 굽힘 모멘트를 계산하며, 슬래밍, 프로펠러노출, 갑판침수를 예측한다. 또한 선박 운동과 선체구조응력을 실시간으로 모니터링하여 과도한 선체운동이나 선체구조피로 등의 위험 상황을 표시하고 선원의 작업성과 승선감의 지표인 MII (Motion induced interruption), MSI (Motion sickness incidence)를 제공한다.

Effect of Wildlife Access on Microbial Safety of Irrigation Water Used in the Cultivation of Chinese Cabbage in Goesan (야생동물 출입이 괴산 지역 배추 재배 농업용수의 미생물 안전성에 미치는 영향)

  • Water is an important component in the production of fresh produce. It is mainly used for irrigation and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Several outbreaks cases related to fresh produce have been reported and water has been identified as the most likely source. On the other hand, wildlife has been identified as a possible source of the waterborne pathogens. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of wildlife access on irrigation water used in the cultivation of Chinese cabbage in Goesan. The frequency of wild animals access to upstream water source and the contamination level of bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Enterococci of irrigation water used in Chinese cabbage farm was examined. A total of 37 wildlife including the wild bear and water deer were observed in upstream of water source during the cultivation of Chinese cabbage. The result indicated the presence of hygienic indicator bacteria from the upstream where there is no human access. The contamination range of coliforms, E. coli, and Enterococcus spp. Detected in the irrigation water were 2.13~4.32 log MPN / 100 mL, 0.26~2.03 log MPN / 100 mL, and 1.43~3.49 log MPN / 100 mL, respectively. Due to low water temperatures, the contamination levels of coliform bacteria and E. coli in the irrigation water during harvesting time was lower compared to those recorded during transplanting of Chinese cabbage. However, no significant difference was detected in the number of Enterococci during the cultivation of Chinese cabbage. The results indicated the need to manage the microbial risk in irrigation water to enhance safety in cultivation of Chinese cabbage.

  • 건설공사는 인력의존도가 가장 높으며 타 산업에 대비하여 자동화가 매우 낮고 외기에 노출된 작업 환경으로 추락 등의 중대재해 위험이 가장 높은 산업이다. e-나라지표에 의하면 2006년부터 2012년까지 전체 산업의 약 21.9%를 차지하는 건설 근로자가 생산 활동에 종사하고 있으며, 이직 및 인력의 이동이 매우 잦은 특성을 갖고 있다. 2006년~2012년까지의 재해발생 통계에 따르면 전체적으로 타 산업은 매년 다소간의 증감은 있으나 재해가 감소하는 추세이지만, 건설공사의 경우는 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 특히, 사고성 사망재해의 경우는 7년간 전체 산업에서 발생하는 사고성 사망재해의 평균 40.9%를 건설업이 차지하고 있어 가장 높아 매우 심각한 수준이다. 또한 건설현장과 건설회사의 안전보건경영의 운영방법 및 제도가 매우 단순하고 정성적인 수준으로 타 산업에 비하여 안전경영의 정량화에 대한 노력이 매우 미약하다. 과거 재해사례 및 통계를 분석하여 앞으로의 재해 위험 요소를 제거하거나 안전한 상태로 형성하여야 하나, 발표되는 재해사례나 통계를 구호 또는 슬로건으로 전파, 교육하는 수준에 머물고 있다. 본 연구에서는 아파트공사를 대상으로 2006년~2011년의 과거 재해통계(8,687건)를 분석하여 데이터베이스화하고, 실제 공사한 아파트공사 샘플현장의 자료(89,375명)를 데이터베이스화하여 현 실정에 부합한 정량적 직종별 위험도를 산정하는 연구를 진행하였다. 따라서 아파트공사의 직종별 위험도를 정량적인 데이터로 산출하고, 과학적인 방법으로 현장 위험수준을 실시간 모니터링 함으로써 건설현장의 주된 생산력인 근로자의 생명과 건강을 보호할 수 있는 효과적인 재해예방이 이루어 질 것으로 기대된다.

  • A Ubiquitous-Ecological City (U-Eco City) is the new urban paradigm integrated with ubiquitous-city (U-City) connecting the high-tech IT technology to the urvan space with the concept of the sustainable eco-city. As a U-Eco City is attempted for the first time domestically and internationally, there is insufficient discussions for its develoment goal, planned design proposal, technology and service element and others. Even if there are plans to build up it, policy and technology, service structuring business and others, it is difficult to assess how it would bring the efficacy. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the indicators system to assess a U-Eco City. The results of this study revealed the following; First, the conceptual framework, which was established to achieve sustainable urban quality, can be suggested by establishing its notion of the U-Eco City. The concept of a U-Eco City as established in this study suggests that the economic development in growth-oriented level has to be conducted not only quality of urban environment but also in terms of sustainable to consider the complex impact of various development; Secondly, the developed assessment system has heightened the completeness as the evaluation index through the attitude survey. As a result of questionnaire survey with the subject of specialists and interested party of this study, the urban qualitative aspect is formulated for the stability as a relatively important aspect. For the urban continuity aspect, society, environment and economy have all similar importance, but the environment element was shown to be highest. And finally, subject area was selected on the basis of the evaluation system and the analysis was made on the basis of the implementation design plan of the area. As a result of the assessment, safety and economy have shown to be high. This is indirectly indicated for the priority in economic growth driven development plan unlike the importance of environmental continuity obtained through the attitude survey. When planning on urban development, there is a need for supplementing the environment part and it has to present the connection plan between the economic growth and environmental continuity.

  • 후박의 주성분인 magnolol과 honokiol을 분리, 치주병인균 (혐기성그람음성균: Porphyromonas gingivalis 381, W50, A741-27, Prevotella intemedia 25611, 9336, G8-9K-3, 통기성그람음성균: Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans)에 대한 항균력을 조사하고 교원질 분해 활성, 섬유아세포재생능, 치은상피세포재생능, 치주인대세포재생능, cytokine생산 억제력시험을 하여 치주조직재생능을 관찰하였다. 후박과 대추의 안전성을 확인하기 위하여 일반임상증상, 체중측정, 피부반응을 관찰하였다. 아울러 이들 약물을 주성분으로 한 제제의 품질평가를 위하여 활성성분의 분리법 및 주성분인 magnolol과 honokiol을 지표로하여 HPLC 분석조건을 검토하였다.

Evaluation of Safety for the Supplement of Herbicide-resistant Rice in Old Male Rats (노령기 흰쥐에서 제초제 저항성 쌀의 급여에 대한 안전성 평가)

  • This research was conducted to evaluate the safety of the herbicide-resistant rice, a genetically modified organism (GMO) developed by the Rural Development Administration by exposing it to 12 months old Sprague-Dawley rats for 8 weeks. The composition of herbicide-resistant brown rice with/without heating treatment was compared with those of conventional Ilpum brown rice with/without heating treatment to assess composition equivalence. Compositional analysis was performed to measure proximates, fiber, and minerals. The nutritional components of herbicide-resistant rice were similar to those of the nontransgenic control or were within the normal range of nontransgenic rice. Four groups of experimental male rats were fed one of the following diets for eight weeks: Ilpum brown rice (I) and its heated rice (IH) as non-GMO, and herbicide-resistant brown rice (G) and its heated rice (GH) as GMO- We checked clinical symptoms (anorexia, salivation, diarrhea, polyuria, anuria, fecal change), food intake, and water consumption every day, change of body weight once a week, and serum biochemistry and organ weights after 8 weeks of experimental feeding We did not find any significant differences in the above-mentioned items. These results suggested that genetically modified herbicide-resistant rice was compositionally equivalent to conventional Ilpum rice, and nutritional characteristics and safety of herbicide-resistant rice in old male rats treated for 8 weeks were not different from those of Ilpum rice, non-GMO.

Development and Evaluation of Road Safety Information Contents Using Commercial Vehicle Sensor Data : Based on Analyzing Traffic Simulation DATA (사업용차량 센서 자료를 이용한 도로안전정보 콘텐츠 개발 : 교통시뮬레이션 자료 분석을 중심으로)

  • A Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System (CITS) provides useful information on upcoming hazards in order to prevent vehicle collisions. In addition, the availability of individual vehicle travel information obtained from the CITS infrastructure allows us to identify the level of road safety in real time and based on analysis of the indicators representing the crash potential. This study proposes a methodology to derive road safety content, and presents evaluation results for its applicability in practice, based on simulation experiments. Both jerk and Stopping Distance Index (SDI) were adopted as safety indicators and were further applied to derive road section safety information. Microscopic simulation results with VISSIM show that 5% and 20% samples of jerk and SDI are sufficient to represent road safety characteristics for all vehicles. It is expected that the outcome of this study will be fundamental to developing a novel and valuable system to monitor the level of road safety in real time.
