Information boards installed in Seoul subway stations are currently in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. Informational announcements are provided to inform the main information or operation information through the LCD monitor installed in the train and in Korean. However, users are confused because the subway guide board screen displays advertisements more heavily than driving information As a research method, we grasped the current status and problems of the subway guide board installed on the Seoul subway, and presented an improved new subway guide board drafts. An online survey was conducted on 67 people, ranging from teens to 60s who mainly use the Seoul Metro. As a result of the study, the screen design is different for each boarding route, so it is necessary to unify the subway guide board that provides only necessary information. In particular, since the user transfers the subway several times in order to move from place to place, the subway guide board design should function as an emergency disaster guide or boarding information, not an advertising signboard.

Recently, foreign tourists and car owners or motorists are increasing, so tourist sign boards are necessary to inform them. Unfortunately, tourist sign boards are difficult to understand because they are often written incorrectly. This paper has a thorough grasp of this problem and will present an ideal standard model which is precise and detailed. This paper includes research of tourist boards sign Seoul, Kyongju, Pusan, Kwangju, Yosu, Kwang reung in Korea. Also tourist sign boards in the U.K, France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria will be discussed. A survey was conducted of eight hundred people to determine tourist information is obtained. In conclusion, tourist sign board should convey accurate and useful information to people of all ages. Tourist information should be systematic and logical. An ideal standard model of tourist signs will render traveling easier for tourists all over the world. It will be more convenient for both kinds of tourist; domestic and foreign. Futhermore good tourist sign board will give an excellent and bright image.

The use of service robots, particularly guide robots, is becoming increasingly prevalent in public institutions. However, there has been limited research into the interactions between users and guide robots. To explore the customer experience with the guidance robot, we selected 'QI', which has been meeting customers for the longest time, and collected all reviews since the service was launched in public institutions. By using text mining techniques, we identified the main keywords and user experience factors and examined factors that hinder user experience. As a result, the guide robot's functionality, appearance, interaction methods, and role as a cultural commentator and helper were key factors that influenced the user experience. After identifying hindrance factors, we suggested solutions such as improved interaction design, multimodal interface service design, and content development. This study contributes to the understanding of user experience with guide robots and provides practical suggestions for improvement.

Recently, there are increasing needs to provide sufficient information on road signs for expanding cities and traffic networks. Improving efficiency of direction guidance information from road signs not only requires criteria for but also systematic approach to selecting place names that appear on road sings. As such, this paper looks at road direction information from existing road signs that leads to Suwon and investigates whether the current system of road sings provides efficient, systematic and continuous direction information for road users to easily reach their destination. In this paper, Suwon's city hall is set up as the final destination, which is linked from five other cities, Euiwang, Ansan, Hwaseong, Osan and Yongin. The paper attempts to find out whether there is continuity and suitable number of road signs for direction information by analyzing the road signs between these 5 cities and Suwon with respect to direction, direction advance notice and direction guidance. It is found that road users cannot easily find the needed information on their destination from the existing road signs and that continuity of selected place names that systematically appear on road signs is insufficiency. That is to say, the findings of the paper are that while it is easy for road users to find place names that are classified under land marks or the first-class selection of place names on road signs, it is difficult to obtain information from road signs on place names that are grouped under the second or third class. In addition, direction guidance on road signs is problematic, because the appearance frequency of road signs is not adequate and the continuity of road signs is not effective. Moreover, there is insufficient information on local direction guidance for immediate destinations on road signs with respect to turning left or right or going straight. Hence road signs in urban area need systematic improvement to find easily some destination.

본 연구의 목적은 사용자에 의한 정보를 이용하여 버스 정보 안내를 효율적으로 하는 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 PDA를 사용하여 태깅 기술을 이용한 모바일 버스 안내 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 관광객들에게 현재 위치를 기반으로 하여 버스 정류장을 안내하고 해당 정류장에 사용자 생산 정보를 태그로 등록하며, 등록된 정보를 이용하여 사용자에게 목적지까지의 경로를 안내한다. 사업자의 자세한 정보 등록이 가능하며, 사용자에게는 등록 정보 검색 시 간단한 키워드 만으로 해당 목적지에 대한 정보 안내 및 경로를 검색할 수 있도록 한다.

최근 증강현실에 대한 관심이 증가함에 따라 증강현실 기술을 활용한 다양한 앱이 등장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 증강현실 기술을 이용한 숙명여자대학교 안내 안드로이드 앱을 개발한다. 본 논문에서 개발한 앱은 Vuforia SDK를 이용하여 교내 건물의 외관을 인식해 해당 건물의 시설을 안내해주고 학과 잠바를 인식하여 해당 학과의 전용 시설을 안내해준다. 뿐만 아니라 증강현실로 숙명여자대학교 대표 캐릭터인 눈송이를 구현해내어 눈송이를 꾸미고 움직이게 하는 재미를 제공한다. 따라서 본 앱은 학교 안내 앱의 새로운 방향을 제시하며 신입생들의 학교 안내와 학교 캐릭터 홍보에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

기존의 길 안내시스템은 지리정보시스템(GIS)와 무선데이터통신을 이용하여 목적지까지의 길을 음성과 지도로 안내하는 서비스였다. 이는 지리정보처리 장치 또는 마이크로 브라우저 등을 설치해야만 길 안내 등의 교통안내가 가능했었다. 본 논문에서는 이동형 단말기 또는 휴대폰에서 전기의 장치나 시스템을 필요로 하지 않아도 가능한 시스템을 제시하였고, 일반전인 전화 또는 전자메일 송신만으로 길 안내 처리가 가능하게 하였다.

최근 자동차 수의 급속한 증가와 대중 교통의 발달로 인하여 ITS(Intelligent Transportation System)과 같은 지리/교통 안내 시스템의 연구 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 시스템의 중요한 기능 중의 하나로 대중 교통의 관리와 안내 서비스가 있다. 특히 우리나라의 경우 아직 많은 사람들이 대중 교통을 이용하고 있고, 대중 교통이 대도시 교통체증의 중요 해결책으로 인식되므로 이러한 기능이 더욱 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷을 통하여 접근할 수 있는 버스 노선 안내 서비스 시스템을 개발한 경험을 소개한다. 버스 노선 안내 서비스 시스템은 사용자가 접근하기 용이해야 하며 실용적인 서비스 결과를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 추후 개발되는 여러 ITS 구성 요소들과 유기적으로 결합할 수 있는 상호 운용성이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 분산 객체 미들웨어의 표준인 CORBA를 이용하여 인터넷을 통한 접근이 용이하고 상호 운용성이 뛰어난 시스템 구조를 제안하였다. 이 시스템의 구조와 스키마는 추후 다른 대중 교통 안내 서비스 시스템과의 연계 혹은 다른 ITS 구성 요소와의 연계에 쉽게 대응할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
